Maybe I’ll elaborate more on this in the future maybe not and I think it applies to literally every character ever but I think my analysis of Luis and just analysis of him in general fall under two categories:

Why LUIS as a CHARACTER INSIDE the universe of resident evil would do the actions he does

And what CAPCOM as a REAL WORLD COMPANY wants us to make of him!!!

And my posts geeeeeeenerally fall under the first category!!!!!!!!! I like analysing Luis as a Person the most, And What Capcom was trying to ‘achieve’ with his character second!!!!!!! But neither of them are more important than the other!!!!!!!!! This is MY Luis blog and IIIIIII get to decide how I wanna handle my analysis of him HDBWHENDHCN

#I think this is also why I’m so torn on his death!!!! cuz on one hand Capcom kinda sorta dropped the ball and left his death a tiiiiny bit #unsatisfying #but at the same time from a story and narrative pov it’s fucking beautiful and was so perfectly well done!!!!#again I’m a hypocrite but I don’t think that’s a bad thing!!#I think this is also where a L O T of hate for Luis shines through #cuz people only view him as a character thag Capcom created and they only ever wanna view the base of whag Capcom gives us #rather than stopping and looking at his cultural background and trauma and actions to analyse why he’d do what he does #even if they’re not ‘technically canon’#meanwhile those same people will give characters like Leon a lot more grace- omggg who said thaaaatt!!! guys who said that!!!!!!!#luisposting
