The crane shifts uneasily as Ava hooks her hands in between its struts, her boots making slippery sounds on the metal that must travel some distance through the night.

Pausing for a moment with one arm hooked around the crane, Ava peers down into the canyons that crack every aspect of the land, but nothing moves. She can hear soft croaking from where the tundra frogs are sleeping up against the warehouse walls, their lumpy bodies no more than suggestions in the dirt.

Ava used to draw pictures of them when she was a kid, with the crayons that the old grocer used to bring with him when he dropped off big sacks of rice and cans of baked beans that Ava and Chanel would spend all day ferrying into the storerooms.

Both of them with their hair buzzed short and Ava hiding her favourite flavours of beans where Grim – who had saved them both and yet somehow managed to overcook the beans every time - wouldn’t find them. So they could have snacks when Chanel managed to pirate a movie off a passing satellite. She’d fixed a projector so that they could put it up onto their bedroom wall, both of them listening to the dialogue and the music and the shouting and the explosions through Chanel’s interface.

Ava wore her headphones, which she’d covered in stickers torn out of magazines, and her pyjamas that glowed in the dark. She’d draw frogs while glancing occasionally up at their improvised screen, her spoon stuck up in the can of beans balanced by her knee. Chanel would sometimes manage to steal sugar cubes from the kitchen so they could add it to the over-salted beans.

Some of those drawings are still pasted to the walls around their bunk – little frogs in messy red and yellow and green and purple streaks. Ava used her pink crayon only sparingly, to give them eyes.

But the tundra frogs are dangerous, like most things on this planet, and Ava checks for them when she crawls out of the window. Looking down first and only then up, her fingers reaching for the first, familiar handhold. She checks for thwogs, too, with their strange, three-eyed faces and batlike wings.

At night they like to cling to the various wires and ropes and old chains that dangle between the repair shop and its sentinel crane and the storerooms (still infested with beans). But they respond to movement, not sound, and the soft squeaks of Ava’s boots are not enough to wake them.

She’s safe.

Unless, of course, Chanel hears her through the window she left propped open with a stack of physics textbooks and half-empty box of crackers. She promised – yesterday, in fact – to weld the window shut if Ava left it open again.

“This planet is literally infested with monsters, Ava.”

“They’re called fauna. And they were here long before the first moron with a hard-on for desert landscapes put down a temp-hab here. They don’t know this is our room.”

She did not mention that she’d seen one of the tundra frogs swallow a housecat whole the other day, spitting out its bones ten minutes later (picked clean of meat but streaky with blood). When Ava climbed up out of a canyon-crack to poke at them later she found that each one had split right along its centre, marrowless and as easy to snap with the toe of her boot.  

And all of that was fucked-up, sure, but cats are an invasive species, and the tundra frogs can’t climb the warehouse walls, so Ava put down a mag-web to deter smaller predators and left the window open (again) because she only wants to sneak out, not camp out.

She climbs the last fifteen metres of crane mostly with her arms, letting her feet dangle and using her knees for anchorage when she needs to, just in case the sound of her boots crawls in through the window and wakes Chanel, who (sadly) grew out of her ‘sleeping with headphones on’ phase several months ago.

But Ava’s been using her arms a lot longer than she’s been using her legs though, so the climb isn’t difficult even if it makes her sweat on her favourite hoodie. She reaches the platform on top of the crane, which is hardly even scrawny girl-sized, but big enough for Ava to sit or lay back on, watching the stars.

Ava does this most nights – the breakneck climb, eating crackers in her bed until Chanel falls asleep on the bunk above her and she can crawl out from underneath her faded blanket, slip into her Galactic Rangers hoodie (third-hand, with the “gal” part gone thanks to an incident with one of Grimroth’s old grenade launchers), and ease the window open like it’s a girl’s mouth.

I was just trying to update my clatchet family designs and finally said fuck it and made an au currently in the works about the family and their adventures. Also good news, I’m graduating soon so imma have some time on my hands for awhile

I'm an AU lover, so Ratchet and Tal as teenage besties. They may grow apart briefly, after Tal gets accepted into the Galactic Rangers and Ratchet doesn't. But that's a rift that can always be repaired.

I have thought of something… ever since 10/3/22… When I saw the Lombax Designs and Appearances. I had Ideas.

The Psychonauts Kelpie AU (from @albinotopaz) gave inspiration for this "Idea". ( there's Inspiration of a Werewolf)

Okay fine... It's an AU. The story is the Same, but there is new changes. (Post-Rift Apart)

Ratchet & Clank / Rivet & Kit : Jaws of the Lombax

Since Lombaxes are Humanoid Felines, I thought of Forms that were Beast. since Lombaxes have different Eye colors, their Beast Form's eyes glow in different colors, wither if it's white or black.

Lombaxes come in many shapes and sizes, so can their Beast Forms. they still have it's Male and Female thing, just like normal Lombaxes. the females still have hair, but they can grow messy.

A Lombax's beast mid transformation would look a scary, as the clothes will rip into pieces, the and accessories (like goggles or something) will have the exact same effect as the clothes do, but the earrings and face accessories (Ring pierces or something) will still be there but in different spots of the ears and head.

This is the Baseplate of a Beast form of a Lombax. (I can't understand the Female and Male parts of a Lombax (I know some would looks different because of their ears, face, tail, and body.)

Clank's antenna and Kit's lights were glowing. Ratchet and Rivet showed up, along with the R&C/R&K: JotL Title. Jaws shows up under the R&C/R&K part of the title. last but no least, the eyes of many creatures showed up...

The amount of times Ratchet has looked at a Chaos Emerald and wanted to get a taste of one is astonishing, even for Sonic.

He literally wanted to take a bite out of it. They do look like candy, so it's to be expected.

Have you done any guns from the Ratchet and Clank games? Just the thought of Jaune getting the Mootator is hilarious. And although a Keyblade isn’t a gun, it can shoot.

A/N = I am REALLY SORRY this took so long to come out. I just couldn't come up with anything, BUT hopefully this works. Still not sure how good this one is... and again sorry for taking so long to put something out for you.

"Jaune Gets A Gun AU - Day 3" Ratchet & Clank - the Mootator

Jaune: (Yanked off his feet by Tina and Jinx) HEY!

Pyrrha, Ruby and Emerald just look at each other, shrug their shoulders and move to follow. Catching up just as Jinx and Tina hauled Jaune up to the counter.

Jinx: SO, what cha got?

Tiny Tina: I don't see much of a stock on display.

????: Are they talking to us Clank?

Clank: Yes I believe so, though you might want to ask them what they want Ratchet.

Jaune: I don't think any of this stuff is for sale.

Tina: They why do they have a booth?

Ratchet: Hi. Um... can I help you?

Pyrrha: We're looking for a gun for my partner, so we're checking out all the booths to see if we can find something that would suit him.

Ratchet: Ah, I see...

Jinx: So what cha got?

Clank: Well, we are really only here to use these facilities to repair our own gear.

Ruby: Then why do you have a booth?

Ratchet: Well, you see we're here on a layover between missions and just wanted to find a place to tweak our gear...

Clank: And this grey haired guy with glasses showed up handed us a permit and said we can work here...

Tiny Tina: (pouting) So you're not selling anything?

Ratchet: Not really...

Jinx: BUT some of this stuff is so cool looking!

Ratchet: Yeah, thanks... but...

Clank: We could use some money, Ratchet.

Ratchet: But should we be selling super-weapons to a primitive planet's inhabitants?

Jaune / Pyrrha / Ruby / Emerald / Jinx / Tiny Tina: Excuse me?

Ratchet: Hehehehe, um... well...

Clank: (Hands Ratchet a slip of paper) I just checked our paperwork. This is a vendor's license... we can sell if we choose to.

Ratchet: Okay. So who is looking?

Jaune: Me.

Ratchet: Any idea about what you are looking for?

Jaune: Not...

Ruby / Jinx / Tiny Tina: Anything that he doesn't really need to aim!

Ratchet: Really? Okay... well maybe this would be good for you...

Tiny Tina: That looks cool. What's it do?

Ratchet: This is the Mootator... it will turn your enemies into exploding cows.

Jaune / Pyrrha / Ruby / Emerald / Jinx / Tiny Tina: Say What?

Ratchet: Foes turned into cows, will wander towards their allies and then explode. The stronger or more powerful the foe, the bigger the explosion.

Jaune / Pyrrha / Ruby / Emerald / Jinx / Tiny Tina: ...

Clank: I don't...

Nora: TAKE MY MONEY!!!!

Jaune / Pyrrha / Ruby / Emerald / Jinx / Tiny Tina: NORA?!?

Ratchet / Clank: Where the hell did you come from?

Nora: Exploding Cows... TAKE. MY. MONEY!

Ratchet: Okay... here you go. It's all yours.

Nora: YES! COME TO MAMA!!!MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Jaune / Pyrrha / Ruby / Emerald / Jinx / Tiny Tina: ...

Nora turns about and skips off, cradling her recent purchase.

Jaune: Should we?

Pyrrha: Let Ren handle it.

Jaune: But...

Ruby: It's Ren's problem.

Tiny Tina: She seems happy.

Turn about to find the booth empty.

Tiny Tina: Huh? Where'd they go?

Jinx: Lunch?

Jaune: I still think we should...

Pyrrha / Ruby: Let Ren handle it.
