back at it again at krispy kreme and we've got long awaited Soundwave!! Along with his cassettes! - Frenzy, Rumble, Ravage, Buzzsaw, Laserbeak and Ratbat!

Human Rodimus taking care of Mer pup Ratbat while a sick Soundwave rests in his bathroom

He laid awake listening to the rain pounding against his small home and the waves crashing against the beach. He couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong causing him to be unable to sleep.

Cutting through the rain he heard what sounded like a yelp and then a young sparkling crying. Shocked he sat up wondering if it was merely a trick or the rain.

Something urged him to check despite the bad weather and he found himself running outside. He could barely see from how hard it was raining and he grabbed the railing to stop himself from falling.

He walked towards the edge almost falling from how slippery it was as the rain pelted him and he regretted not grabbing a coat on the way out.

Listening closely he could hear the rain all around him and the waves crashing against the beach and a sparkling crying.

He paused and then followed the sound towards a large rock. He walked around it and gasped when he saw an injured mer unconscious and holding a crying pup who looked terrified and was shivering from the cold.

He bit his lip knowing the mers would die out there if he didn't do anything and that with the storm and how late it was mer rescuers wouldn't be able to come.

He gently poked at the adult mer knowing how dangerous they were. As much as he wanted to budle the crying pup in his arms he needed to be careful. If the mer saw him touching his pup he'd attack him mistaking him for a threat.

Searching his subspace he found a small piece of fabric which he used as a makeshift wrap. He then made sure the adult mer was unconscious and wouldn't be waking up.

He carefully picked up the pup weary of being bitten. Knowing how sharp their teeth could be even at such a young age. He placed him in the wrap holding the pup against his chest.

He wiggled a little trying to get comfortable and then whimpered looking at his parent. He carefully grabbed him struggling with how heavy he was. He somehow managed to carry him into his house while being pelted with rain.

He'd gone slow careful not to fall because he didn't want to hurt either of them.

Once inside the pup calmed down although he still looked worried about his parent.

He went to the bathroom and turned on the water. Thankful he'd splurged and gotten himself a big bathtub. The pup chirped and he nuzzled him.

"It's going to be okay I just need to get your creator into the bathtub."

Behind him he heard a growl and he looked over shocked to find the mer, although he didn't look good. His arms were shaking as he dragged himself forwards staring at the pup in his arms who wiggled and chirped at his creator.

"Do you want to go back to them?"

He looked at the pup and then carefully held them towards the mer who was watching him with narrowed optics and still growling.

The pup must not have liked that because he started crying causing the mer to tense. He found himself pulling the pup protectively closer ignoring the mers growl even though he could easily rip him to shreds.

The pup quieted in his arms and snuggled closer looking happy. When he glanced at the mer he looked surprised and the energy drained out of him as he collapsed to the ground.

Uncaring of his safety he rushed towards the mer and grabbed his arm.

"You're sick."

He noticed the mer burning up and he placed a hand on his forehead.

"Let's get you to the water."

He helped him towards it and the mer must have understood something he said because he crawled towards the bath.

He helped him climb inside and the mer got comfortable. He held out his hands looking at the pup and he handed him over ignoring how his spark throbbed.

The pup fussed for a moment before quieting down. He worked on bandaging the mers wounds going slow and making sure the mer could see what he was doing.

He also talked to him thinking he might understand at least a word or two. The mer just watched him with a thoughtful gaze and when he was done the mer handed his pup back.

He gave him a surprised look and the mer pointed at the pup.

"Ratbat."

He then pointed at himself.

"Soundwave."

"My name is Hot Rod."

He pointed at himself and the mer nodded before falling asleep absolutely exhausted. He looked down at the pup in his arms and took care of him while his creator slept.

Do you have any hcs on how the elite trine are with Soundwave’s cassettes?

Yeah >:3

First of all, the trine love the little menaces, but of course they have their favorites. Starscream’s is Ravage, Skywarp’s are Rumble and Frenzy, and Thundercracker enjoys Lazerbeak and Squawktalk.

Despite their favoritism, Skywarp is the one that enjoys the cassettes the most. It’s often that Skywarp ropes the little cons into his pranks or pulls pranks on them. Tussling with Rumble and Frenzy is a favorite pastime of his as well. They may act like they hate each other but Skywarp would rather kiss Tarn than lose these little bastards, and that’s saying something. He also likes Slugfest but that’s because the cassette is easy to nip at.

Thundercracker is mostly indifferent but he enjoys when they hang around. He especially enjoys when Lazerbeak and Squawktalk decide to talk around him, he finds the noise pleasant and offers minimal responses when inquired. Beastbox and him also get along to a lesser degree but they’re on good terms because Squawktalk likes him.

Then there’s Starscream who shows pure favoritism to Ravage. He is all over that kitty cat and if you can’t find her then there’s a good chance she’s happily snuggled in the seeker’s lap while he cleans her. He almost likes Overkill for his brutality but he definitely prefers Ravage because Starscream is a massive sucker for cats.

Ratbat and Buzzsaw aren’t really social cassettes so they stay away from the trine.

And then there’s well Enemy. But no one really gets along with Enemy. Especially Skywarp. Skywarp and Enemy aren’t allowed in the same room anymore.

Anybody else remembers that scene in cyberverse where soundwave tamed laserbeak.

It was a really cute scene and brought a lot to soundwaves character but I couldn't help but think of what if cyberverse had soundwaves other cassettes. Specifically how soundwave would've met them. Maybe ravage could have been stalking soundwave and just followed him and would just sit on his doorstep bring him pieces of scrap until soundwave caves in and just adopts. Maybe rumble and frenzy could've been orphans and the streets Oliver twist style and where about to get in trouble with the law until Soundwave came and rescue them. Maybe ratbat was a senator pet (like an homage to his idw backstory as a senator) who was mistreated and ran away and ran into soundwave who took pity on him and cared for him. I don't know just a bunch of random ideas for possible scenarios that could have happened if other cassettes were present in cyberverse.

Summary:

After a routine scouting mission leaves one of the mini-cons injured, they end up getting help from an unusual source. Since that day, the small cassettes have been obsessed with this human who stared them down and for some reason, took it upon himself to try and help. Maybe Soundwave has room for one more mini-con in his ranks after all. 

Or: Danny happened to save a metal cat from a fight with Cujo and now ever since then all of these mini robots keep showing up in his town and spying on him (not very secretively). Now he’s got to deal with six mini-mechs and their overprotective twenty-two-foot-tall caretaker… What has his afterlife come to?
