hey you're back what side characters would you've wanted to get routes?

Indeed we are, and thank you for the ask!

Omar is the obvious choice, it seems clear to us that he would have gotten a route at some point if the app stuck around longer

Jo did get her short which was a sign that she was meant to get her own route but since it never came to fruition she deserves an honorable mention

Rapunzel is also a candidate, just based on some of the interactions she has with FMC in Lavinia's route, it would've been nice to see more of her also she's super hot

Edward was a popular choice when he showed up in Ezra's route. Personally, I would have liked him to get a route for the sole purpose of figuring out what the fuck his deal is. He's the sort of character I'd like to put under a microscope and poke at with a stick (but hear me out on him being an LI for MMC)

I feel like psychology was a good major to give to Lavinia. I could see her getting very interested and attached to a science that helps her understand why she feels the way she does in more depth then the magical world since in season one a lot of her excuses are because she is the bad guy, but to realize that there is more to her then just "the bad guy" "the snow queen" or the very 2D accusations of the magical world would have been amazing to explore in later seasons.

Like Lavinia figuring out why her head works the way it does and being fascinated that this world has a science that extends past what she's been labeled as from the magical realm. To realize that her becoming who she is was a result of what Titania has put her through for years and having a moment of "Did I become exactly what she wanted me to be" and wanting to break the mold of who Titania shaped her to be.

Basically "Oh I have severe trauma, PTSD, abandonment issues and control issues from years of abuse from my mother."

And Rapunzel and Darla are there like "Same, Bitch."

I think it's funny how many people don't want Rapunzel to be the villain in Lavinia's route when I think the whole point is going to be her being a villain. The gang make a lot of excuses for her because she's a storybook hero, but Lavinia is surprisingly similar to get and doesn't get that slack because she's a storybook villain. It adds a lot of grayness to what a hero and villain are especially with those two being so similar.

Sure does 🤔 Rapunzel is certainly turning out to be an interesting character because of all the changes that will happen because of her. If she is the villain, all the better. If she is not, well, at least she set some things in motion. All good, I say. - Mod Jessa

The new LIs that LS teased shortly before its death were Lazarus (SWM), Rapunzel (EAA) and Quince (RP). Like Ruelle, Omar was probably a route that the writer(s) wanted to do but vehemently rejected by management.

i suppose that on top of Voltage management being homophobic and having poor business sense, they also are cowards who didn't want to take a chance on an unconventional male LI

but if this is true, i wonder if there were any other LIs slated for EAA. they always ran in threes, and i would have fancied having a third set of threes. nice and symmetrical.

So Rapunzel just appeared in Lavinia's season 2 and she has already caught my attention. Her story sounds tragic and I definitely wanna know the story behind her belt.

She seems to be carrying two scissors (we know the tips of her hair are brown, just like the Disney movie, so it must have been cut), does she keep them with her in case she has to cut her hair again? 🤔

About Lavinia's update:

I really hope they won't make Rapunzel "the villain", because she's just like Lavinia, they both have been hurt badly, they both have a terrible past and they both are wrong in their own way.

I want the team to help both Rapunzel and Lavinia, 'cause I'm sure both can be good people!

The real villain here should be Blossom only! 🤣

P.s.: Amazing update, loved it so much. However, I just really hate how the last options in ep 6 for MC to Lucas made it sound like Rapunzel was completely in the wrong, while Lavinia clearly had completely traumatized her seconds before...

On the topic, if EAAs FMC is a witch or not: (kinda late but whatever XD)

So, if FMC can indeed be considered a witch I don't think Rapunzel would've reacted the way she first did. She completely lost it when Nora entered the room, but with FMC? Basically nothing.

She also spend some time with FMC, which she probably wouldn't have done, if she felt that FMC was a witch. If they told Nora to go hang out with Rapunzel that probably would've escalated.

As far as I remember MMC and Arin also have magic, but Rapunzel isn't bothered by them. Same with Omar, but I guess it's a different story with him since he has the lamp, but that also means she doesn't have anything against other magic users. Just against witches and that there's a distinction between witches and other magic users.

I still wonder what exactly makes one a witch tho🤔 In Omars case it's pretty clear, but in other cases it isn't?

I personally would've considered FMC a witch, but I don't think that's the case story wise. I guess in the story she's a star, just reincarnated in some way? Same with her brother and that's why she's not a witch.

I guess the distinction is on potions and herbal knowledge? Or something like that. Gothel is a witch as well but I don't remember if she used other forms of magic, like potions 🤔 because other than that I can't really find another reason why FMC, MMC and Arin wouldn't qualify like witches... or every other character with magic sans Omar, for that matter. - Mod Jessa

I dont trust Rapunzel. She's giving me similar vibes to Blossom in season 2. It's her angry sprite it just screams "don't trust this bitch"

Possibly an unpopular opinion: I really like that they made Rapunzel a villain. I feel like a lot of stories never take a character who's been severely fucked up and show the aftermath of their trauma. Rapunzel had a really bad past and the experiences she went through makes her think she's justified in her actions and behaviors and she thinks she's the hero.

I don't really think that's an unpopular opinion, anon. I really like the way she's turning out, too. She's an amazing villain because we saw how she turned into one (though arguably we got to see it kinda late, because by the time we meet her she's already been through some hard stuff) - Mod Jessa
