Everytime I see one of your posts in my feed I jump for joy! (Not literally, I don’t want to be questioned by family as to why I’m randomly jumping due to being on the second floor XD)
I am curious, if Arle’s operatives are vanishing to join the game of hide n seek, sorry stealth training, would that mean the House of Hearth kids as well? Would Leagacy react differently to them than the other Fauti agents, or not? How would reader react? Or is everyone just too occupied by the “stealth training” to care?
(I think this counts as a request?)
i haven't the time for full length stories lately (help meeeeeee) but i just had to write a little blurb for this!!
Lyney blinks as he peers over the bush, the green leaves brushing against his cheeks. So, that's where all of Father's operatives have been going... to some random spot in the countryside? It's a bit baffling, to be sure, but he certainly appreciates a good challenge, especially when it's picking apart people's thought process. His eyes narrow, watching the operative scurry to hide in trees, behind foliage, even underwater. All with precise movements and knowledge of the environment- Father would surely be proud.
There's a faint rustling as his sister pops up next to him with her usual catlike ease, ears twitching slightly. She tilts her head over, staring impassively.
"Lyney, take your hat off. They'll see."
"What?" Lyney frowns. "No, they won't! You're not the only one who has silent steps, you know."
"Quiet feet don't matter when your hat is the size of your head."
"Hey, that's not-"
A hand lands on Lyney's shoulder, and both of the twins freeze, slowly turning to look into the eyes of a Melusine. You tilt your head, shadowed by several operatives and Foul Legacy with suspicion written all over his face, arms crossed disapprovingly. He knows these two- the Knave's preferred pair for stealth missions- and Lyney and Lynette stare up at the Abyssal Harbinger in shock.
Slowly, you raise a mitten-ish hand and give them a small wave. The twins return the gesture with the same caution, relaxing when you smile and happily tap your feet against the ground. Legacy and the rest of the operatives let out a collective sigh of relief, the former gently gathering you into his arms and bumping his head against yours. You gesture for the twins to follow, to join in on the fun even just for a little while- Freminet is already there, his helmet poking up from beneath the waves. No wonder he's been staying out even more than usual. Lynette quickly acclimates herself as Lyney watches her dart off into the trees, taking everything in stride. The Melusine that Foul Legacy holds so carefully. The markings crisscrossing over your arms and legs that shimmer in the sun. That relieved look when you saw they were friendly, not cruel.
He remembers Father mentioning a Melusine. Perhaps this is the reason it was with such sorrow and fury at the rest of the world.
#genshin impact#childe#tartaglia#foul legacy#foul legacy childe#genshin tartagalia#genshin childe#genshin tartaglia#sagau#genshin sagau#freminet is the first of the HoH kids apart from the operatives#it's basically inevitable with how much he dives#but luckily he gets along with you fabulously#ahhh i love little melusine creator slowly making more friends across fontaine#you're their little precious secret#short scenario#other's stuff#good evening#chit chat#i NEED to write a full-length piece for melusine creator one day

Hey, all! I'm Mel, officially a simmer as of June 2023. I decided to start this simblr after losing my first legacy save. I'll be sharing (mostly) gameplay/story here, likely a bit silly and displaying an excessive interest in occult sims (but is it ever really excessive?). I've felt quite inspired by seeing everyone's incredible work on their own sims blogs, and I look forward to sharing my saves with y'all!

GRANTATHON DAY 1: Privileged (1982) - Cloisters and Cucking
Genre: ‘Psychological Drama’
Starring: Robert Woolley, Diana Katis, HUGHIE Grant, Victoria Studd, James Wilby, Imogen Stubbs, Mark Williams
‘I demand satisfaction.’ - Lord Adrian
As films funded by the same university they are set in go, you could do a lot worse than Privileged. Our boy Mungo is credited here as little ‘Hughie Grant’, appearing in the supporting role of ‘Lord Adrian’, a legacy student who wants to get sent down from Oxford. The cast features a few noteworthy names besides Hughie: James Wilby, who we’ll be seeing again in our next film as a romantic lead alongside Grant in Merchant Ivory’s adaptation of Maurice by E.M Forster; and Imogen Stubbs, who I first saw in Frantic Assembly’s Things We Know to Be True (though I can forgive her for that).
Grant’s screen time here is limited and his character matters very little to the central plot up until the second act climax, when Adrian discovers Edward (Woolley) and Lucy’s (Studd) affair. Adrian confronts Edward at a party and hilariously challenges him to a duel, in which we get this breathtaking screengrab of Mungo:
Whoever said his earlier films didn’t showcase Hugh Grant’s range as an actor? (He did, actually)
The cinematography is very standard for low-budget films of the time, perhaps even above-average; we are treated to borderline pornographic shots of limestone structures drowned in that characteristically bleak English sunlight and the composition of much of these shots is perfectly adequate, although the quality of the picture on the copy I had when there are humans displaying a lot of emotion onscreen does sometimes result in slightly terrifying frames as above. Whenever the camera manually crash-zooms in on someone’s face in a mirror after they overhear something disconcerting, I am reminded a little of the Tales of the Unexpected series, which does befit the ‘psychological drama’ genre the film is seemingly going for. However, I would classify this more as a romantic drama, as the psychological aspects are somewhat obscured by the narrative’s indulgence in the love triangle between Edward, Anne, Lucy and Clive Durham’s special friend (portrayed by Wilby, whose character is also called 'James' -- great name).
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
With its many wide-shots of old academic buildings, play-within-a-play storyline and climactic scene of a reluctant scion turning a pistol on himself, it is very tempting to point to this work as a major influence for Peter Weir’s 1989 film Dead Poets Society, presumed zeitgeist of the ‘dark academia’ genre. But the similarities end there, to be quite frank, and I point them out only to irritate anyone reading this who thought they were clever for identifying them themselves.
I was disappointed by the lack of Mungo content overall, and especially puzzled as to Lord Adrian’s motivations in taking his own life. It’s not a student film without random suicide, I suppose, but it’s also never properly established that he is prone to self-destruction nor that he has been really backed into a corner emotionally by this point. Moreover, his death is framed with almost callous indifference by both the characters and the narrative itself. Understandable, given the cast and crew is made up of Oxford students, but dramaturgically uninteresting nonetheless as there is insufficient build-up and seemingly no fall-out. We get a few somber-ish shots of buildings (limestone is to this film as feet are to a Tarantino flick) and a line from one of the other students asking how Adrian’s cheating girlfriend is holding up, but that’s about it. The characters don’t seem to care that much that Adrian’s gone and neither does the spectator, brief as Mungo’s cameo was — that is, unless they are like yours truly, watching exclusively for Hughie and thus saddened that he was both heterosexual AND dead by the end of the film.
Even more puzzling is the loose thread of the masked attacker. At the beginning of the movie, Edward is accosted by a man in a mask; this sets up the supposed overarching mystery of the film, as a series of attacks primarily targeting women at the university continue to occur without much consequence. By the end, there is no resolution and also no reason to ponder one. A member of the main cast — Imogen (Stubbs) — is eventually attacked during a performance of The Duchess of Malfi, and there is a crumb of symbolism in how, at the very moment she is being attacked by the masked man, Edward is creeping onstage also clad in a mask to perform a scene in which the character happens to be attacking a woman. But if this is meant to say something about the covert (or, you might say, ‘masked’) violence of the upper classes, it falls dismally flat.
The hermetically sealed bacterial culture that is Oxford University is perhaps this film’s biggest hindrance. In a better script, whose title is The Riot Club, the focus would have been on the decadence and lack of empathy in the eponymously ‘Privileged’ main cast, rather than on the sexual exploits of the deeply unlikeable protagonist. Katis’ character is seemingly meant to provide an outsider perspective to the elite social circle that the ensemble occupies, but to a middle-class ruffian such as myself she seemed no less posh than the rest of them. Perhaps the scene where she is slightly disapproving of Edward when he is rude to a waitress was supposed to be this film’s equivalent to the bit in Riot Club where working-class Northerner Lauren gets to see Alistair and his mates’ true colours when she arrives at the Club’s annual dinner. But if that is the case, Anne doesn’t seem terribly deterred, and this is also quite literally the only scene in the film where we get to see actual members of the working class in the form of the waitstaff, who have a momentary exchange of commiseration about the students’ behaviour. I quite enjoyed this scene, to tell you the truth, and I wish there had been more like it.
I have visited Oxford only once in my life, but I remember enough of it to have recognised many of the locations in Privileged. As I said before, there are lots of sexy shots of limestone cloisters and grassy quads, all blanketed in the hazy glow of VHS generation loss, and I’m sure anyone who has studied or lived there will feel a great sense of nostalgia watching this film. I think perhaps my potential enjoyment of what is otherwise a fun campy time was marred both by the actual lack in Hugh Grant and my general dislike for the place. That doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate all the things this project has achieved: Mungo’s cinematic debut, Hoffman’s directorial debut, sweet Wilby sporting some serious Diana-grade golden curls, Imogen Stubbs in something where the writing doesn’t make me want to go the way of Lord Adrian, the list goes on.
Oxford students and alum will enjoy this film for the history and nostalgia. Cambridge students will enjoy this for the terrible acting. Mungo fans will enjoy this for the hair (I see now why the French kept calling him Mademoiselle). Would I recommend seeing it? If you can appreciate low-budget charm and a plot that meanders at the pace of a Teddy boy through the gates of one of the women’s colleges, you’ll find it entertaining enough. If, like Lord Adrian and I, you demand satisfaction, I’d say maybe watch it once for the novelty of seeing Hugh Grant in his first theatrical release.
OVERALL FILM RATING (/5): ⭐️⭐️; Entertaining, if a little muddled
HAIR RATING (/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MUNGO FACTOR (1-10): 3 (Points given for hair and general foppishness; points deducted for the cucking and the killing him off)
See you tomorrow for my review of Merchant Ivory Productions' romantic drama Maurice.

I like the start of the episode but is she gonna go all meredith grey pov thing all the episodes now? it's not bad bad tho just asking
And I knew the possibilities were low but a little hope was still there, instead they really went there and called the baby Nicky uuughh, that baby is adorable, so so cute but a big nope for the name, I feel like they went with their idea and didn't ask Kelli and Peter I fear, she wouldn't have gone there I believe, fuck DG, also who the hell call their kid their ex name?! both of them! Carisi ex was Nicole, Amanda had a fwb situationship with Nick and yeah call him ex is definitely not it lol, but still?? weird af. Carisi has also a cousin called Nikki??! something different maybe?? especially if it stands for Dominick for me, like again? a third? it's so old 'patriarchal' school I don't like it, it's 2024. For me there's no way Amanda and Sonny would have gone for that. This is why I wanted a girl, I feared they were gonna go there and look, they did. Give him is own name. Anywayyyyy baby name rant over, sorry not sorry I needed to get it off my chest. I'm cool now lol.... -ish. Anyway that baby is the cutest tho, he's so them, good choice in casting! let's see how the eyes evolve tho 😂 did they look blue? i don't remember, with both parents with blue eyes he gotta have blue eyes, 1% of mayyybe green but brown? it gotta be very very very rare.
Also tho, why did they cut half the baptism scene and there was NO SIGHT of the girls???! like why the hell do you call them to be there in both scenes, film them and then you cut them out?? also rude? 3 seconds of their back running doesn't count. but oh Noah had to go on a tangent about the baby, at least this time he didn't interrupt the scene. I wanted the girls to talk about their brother, a 'dad' line maybe, a family of 5 little scene at the party. We got more bts than product filmed ffs. At least we got a damn good Rollisi scene😍😍 I missed them soooo much it's been a year without them. To bad they had spoiled all the scene already. I miss them already. One good thing is, if they're going with Rollins-Carisi I love it?! I always prefer when they include both names especially in het relationships, and not making it all about the man, I like 'Rollins', Amanda made her name a good one she fought to be better and defy the legacy of her father name, I would hate to lose it.
Thankfully! Amanda Rollins and the Rollivia scene saved the episode, I absolutely adored LOVED their scene, Amanda first concern: How is Liv 😭😭 and Liv opens up only with her😭, this kind of talk was like their usual talks in her office, when Amanda would knock, come in, ask how she was and the talk would unravel. I missed this. And here as soon as she started talking about the case Amanda went into detective mode, -investigating thinking face activated-! adfghjkljhgfdsfghjk the OUR PERP, Liv face 😂, her 'when are you coming back' face lol. Also 'Don't make me miss you more than I already do' I'm dead! we all thought that!! This is so so telling tho bitch come back soon, Liv misses you, that team definitely misses you and your brain. Too many men, it's not acceptable! and I don't want random rotating female detectives just to fill the spot (they could have kept Churlish tho??), women are not interchangeable thank you, we need Amanda back! the scene says it all, again. Also also also, holy shit Amanda/Kelli she was soooo hot in that scene, like wow. Blouse, pants, hair everything perfect! this was filmed during the 'lil boo thang dance video' right?!😂😂
Also I love the idea that Liv didn't even bat an eye when she goes all 'Carisi told you about the dolls right?' like it's a given that Amanda knows everything about the cases anyway lol. Does Amanda grill her husband when he comes home in the evening?! 😂😂 "Tell me everything about the case, I'm listening (I'm bored I need a challenge)" so if this is what happens there's no way Carisi doesn't know she's bored and miss SVU, come on, like Liv, he knows her the best, he's just waiting for her to come clean I believe, and I get it, maybe she doesn't want to burst the bubble, also with baby number 3 challenge added, and probably the writers want us to see the moment it happens and with this strike it prolonged everything, I will accept the fact that they haven't talk already as long as they really show it tho, because it needs to happens, she wants back! and she's so needed!
watching next week promo tho, Amanda can skip this one, she had already enough danger drama thanks lol
the last but not the least, McGrath gotta go, ASAP, persona non grata, give me back Garland, hell even Dodds was way better. If a character like that doesn't evolve and doesn't learn and doesn't gets better after 3 seasons... he gotta go. Actually he's getting worse.
#amanda rollins#sonny carisi#rollisi#olivia benson#rollivia#law and order svu#svu#svu25#svu spoilers

The house was quiet, the only noise Imogen heard as she woke up suddently in the middle of the night was Gandalf, lazily snoring at the end of her bed. She tried to go back to sleep but, somehow, she couldn’t. She took her fellow plushie Apollo and stealthily tiptoed to the kitchen... but as she arrived at the top of the staircase she stopped. Someone downstairs was sobbing. She held Apollo closer, cause if it could protect her at night, it could sure help whoever was feeling so much pain. He was her personal stuffed protector after all. But what she found in her kitchen left her speechless.
You don’t forget the first time you see your mother vulnerable. That moment when all her superheroine masks fall and you’re struck with the realisation that she’s a human being too, with flaws and weaknesses like everybody else. She’s not invincible. She can fake it, hide her uncertainties and pain behind a wall, but through its cracks pain leaks unrelentingly. So little and so powerless in front of such a profound grief, so boundless and deep that it was impossible for Imogen to understand it, to grasp whatever it could be about... but most of all. how to heal it. She tried so bad to understand, she wanted to make Brynn’s pain her own, just to see her her mouth curved into one of ther comforting smiles, just to be sure her bright blue eyes would have looked at her with joy again. She wanted her mom back. Imogen was scared. But it was a weird fear because usually you always detect what caused it in the first place... in that moment, she had no idea. She saw her mom like that and all she felt was fear. She really tried to get what was going on, she wanted to understand what mom was going through... but when she looked upon that grief’s edge, she saw everything she would have never expect from her mom: her past, her frustrations, fear of the future, lost relationships and friendships, that constant fear of never being enought, no matter how hard she tried. Imogen undestood the abyss’ extent, but she couldn’t jump in it and save her. She wanted, but she couldn’t, not yet.
Brynn heard Imogen’s soft gasp and she lifted her head, looking at her daughter with watery eyes. When their gazes met, Imogen knew her mom was broken. Those big eyes, caught red-handed in their moment of weakness, a luxury granted by mistake, by exhaustion, certain they’ll never get caught. Imogen saw it clearly written in her distraught expression: "I let my daughter down”. Everyone knows moms always have to be there for you with the right answer, sure about what the next move shold be, with everything under their control...watching as the fear of not being enough for Imogen stabbed her mother brought her on the verge of tears. Back then she couldn’t understand why she wanted to cry so so bad... but now, she does.
“Mom, I’m just like you.“

taylor swift legacy challenge 🦋✨☔️🧣🕊️🐍💕🌲🍷🕰️
— SURPRISE!!! hi!! welcome to my very first written out legacy challenge. it’s no big surprise that i love taylor swift AND the sims, so here i am, combining the two. she has ten albums, legacies have ten generations, there you have it. the hashtag for this will be swiftlp because i cannot genuinely think of anything better. let’s get into the…
rules below the cut!
- this legacy will require most packs other than batuu and the kits - aging must be turned on, but you can have it at any length you wish (normal/long recommended!). i'd recommend pausing aging during generations three and seven's university runs. - each goal must be met before the new heir takes over. - as for partners, they can have random aspirations/traits unless specified! they don’t need to complete it. - don't give the sims dramatic makeovers or personality adjustments (again, unless specified). slight changes to the appearance are fine but leave their facial features be! - there should be no need for money cheats other than like…freerealestate. there will be plenty of opportunities to grind for those simoleans. - if you do this challenge, tag me or use the hashtag swiftlp! i’d love to see it!
🦋 gen 1 - debut
“oh, i'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world…” ever since you were a little kid, music has been your biggest dream. now, you’re a ditzy, daydreaming, young adult who is out on your own for the first time in your life. life is full of adventure in your humble opinion. you’ve always wanted to make people smile, so the only logical choice is to establish a music career before you dream of settling down later in life. - traits: music lover, cheerful, ambitious - aspiration(s): musical genius, big happy family - career: entertainer (musician branch) - world: any non-city objectives - master the singing, guitar, and charisma skills. - reach level ten in the entertainer career before you finish adulthood - date around during your young adulthood before marrying your best friend when you become an adult. have two children after you get married. - finish the musical genius aspiration before having your kids. then, switch to the big happy family aspiration. - optional: have a garden!
✨ gen 2 - fearless
"but with you, i'd dance in a storm in my best dress, fearless." you grew up in a perfect, loving family. you believe in all of those fairytales that your mother told you, even though what they consist of is fake. there's one thing that's real in them though: love. you want nothing more than to grow up and fall in love. yet when you grow up, you discover that real-life love isn't all it's cracked up to be. - traits: bookworm, romantic, childish - aspiration(s): soulmate, best-selling author - career: freelance writer - world: any, copperdale objectives - meet a sim in your teen years that you have an on-and-off relationship into adulthood with. break up twice and get engaged. break up and after this, stay apart. - have a great relationship with both parents until the end of your teenage years and move away from home. they don't approve of your relationship. - master the writing skill. write mostly romance novels. - have one child with your rocky romance. move them into your household as this will be the heir. - never finish the soulmate aspiration. switch it to best-selling author after you break off your engagement. - move to a secluded part of copperdale (or any woodsy-ish world) to raise your child. you don't need them getting hurt! adopt as many cats as you want. go nuts. - optional: have a dog named white horse
☔️ gen 3 - speak now
"you learn my secrets and you figure out why i'm guarded. you say we'll never make my parents' mistakes..." after the life your parent had, they are extremely overprotective of you. they just want what's best for you, right? you don't know much about their life before you except that they had a rocky relationship with your other parent. oh well! that's their business. you're off to college in a new town and ready to mess things up. you're only young once! - traits: genius, cat lover, outgoing - aspiration(s): friend of the world, serial romantic - career: social media (any branch), critic (food branch) - world: britechester, windenburg objectives - get all a's until you graduate high school. - attend college at either school you'd like and complete your degree. i'd recommend turning aging off during this time. - never date until you are in college. your parent forbids it. once you can, date around all throughout your young adult life. - master the charisma and mixology skills. - reach level 5 in the social media career before switching to the critic career in your adulthood. mid-life crisis! - marry the fling you had the highest relationship with at the end of young adulthood. have as big of a family as you'd like! they're your soulmate! - ...until you have an affair with someone during adulthood. have a child with them. this will be the heir! - optional: have your sim master the guitar skill.
🧣gen 4 - red
"ugh, so he calls me up and he's like, "i still love you." and i'm like, "i just, i mean, this is exhausting, you know? like, we are never getting back together, like, ever..." you are the black sheep of your family, but you could never exactly figure out why. as soon as you're old enough, you get out of there to make it big in life! it's your dream to make it as an actor. school was never really your thing, so you drop out early and move to del sol valley to find yourself. - traits: creative, gloomy, perfectionist - aspiration(s): master actor, mansion baron - career: actor - world: del sol valley objectives - participate in drama club until you drop out. - master the acting, wellness, and violin skills. - date two people in your lifetime. the first is a relationship so bad it ruins your perception of love. stay single until you meet your second love interest on set. have a big white wedding! - reach level 10 of the acting career as an adult. - have as many kids as you'd like with your spouse. - move to tartosa to settle down before you retire. - optional: have your sim wear red lipstick with every outfit besides sleep. no one wears lipstick to bed.
🕊️ gen 5 - 1989
"heartbreak is the national anthem, we sing it proudly!" you grew up in the spotlight and LOVED it. heck, your parents are famous celebrities! they were humble people who loved their family as much as they could. you got everything you wanted and more. you might be spoiled, but you deserved it, right? what do you mean you have to be a responsible adult all on your own now? - traits: outgoing, high maintenance, non-committal - aspiration(s): city native, party animal - career: simfluencer (teen), style influencer - world: san myshuno objectives - move to a nice apartment in san myshuno as soon as you turn into a young adult. your parents love you so much that they bought it for you! - attend every festival - go out at least twice a week and throw parties once a week! you're a social butterfly for a reason! - oh no! spend all of your money and move to a needs tlc apartment. - date around until you get pregnant from a one-night stand. marry them, but never have a high relationship with them. cheat on them with hired help. - master the singing and charisma skills. - move to a penthouse once you're back on your feet - only have one child. - optional: have your sim's favorite drink be wine
🐍 gen 6 - reputation
"but i got smarter, i got harder in the nick of time. honey, i rose up from the dead, i do it all the time." you never had a real connection with either of your parents; everything in your childhood was superficial. all you ever wanted was a real family. if you weren't hanging out with your butler, you were on the streets of san myshuno late into the night. darkness called your name, so you abandoned everything you knew for another life...the life of a criminal. - traits: active, evil, family-oriented - aspiration(s): public enemy, super parent - career: criminal - world: any objectives - have a non-existent relationship with both parents, but a high relationship with the live-in butler. - master the fitness, mischief, and parenting skills. - reach level ten of the criminal career (either branch). - have a relationship with a sim that has the exact opposite personality as you (good, friendly, etc.). marry them as an elder. - adopt one child and be very close to them. give them the best life you can. - optional: throw a party every new years eve if you have seasons
💕 gen 7 - lover
"and there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you dear. have i known you 20 seconds or 20 years?" you may not have had much growing up, but you had love. love, love, love. this love showed you that the world is a good place and nothing bad ever happens, right? wrong. when your parent tells you that they're a criminal, your world comes shattering down. everything else sucks outside of your little bubble. can you make the world less cruel? - traits: good, overachiever, romantic - aspiration(s): academic, soulmate - career: law (private attorney branch) - world: any objectives - have a high relationship with your parent until your late teenage years. - meet a sim during childhood and become best friends, later high school sweethearts. marry them after you finish college. - pursue a distinguished degree in history as soon as you finish high school. - master the charisma, logic and research and debate skills. i'd recommend starting early so you can get that distinguished degree. - reach level ten of the law career - have as many children as you'd like. - reconnect and become best friends with your parent before they die. even have them move in! - optional: have a child named betty be the heir!
🌲 gen 8 - folklore
"i want to watch wisteria grow right over my bare feet 'cause i haven't moved in years." you grew up in a chaotic but loving household where there wasn’t a moment of quiet. of course, you love your family, but you are a loner by nature and always preferred to spend your time with your pets or doing art. you come out of your shell during your teen years, but are you making the wrong choice? - traits: loner, creative, loves the outdoors - aspiration(s): country caretaker - career: sustain yourself off of your farm and royalties from painting and writing - world: henford-on-bagley objectives - have the highest relationship possible with your pets. even higher than your siblings. - make one best friend as a child. - during your teen years, date a sim you meet at school. break up when they cheat on you at the beginning of your young adulthood. woohoo with them one last time and “surprisingly” end up pregnant. - immediately move to henford-on-bagley after you graduate. have no contact with anyone except your best friend. you can play off the grid if you’d like. - master the gardening and painting skills. if you’re feeling funky, master cross-stitching and writing, too. - publish books and sell your paintings in addition to running your farm. - marry your best friend as an adult. - only have one child. - optional: have three cats!
🍷 gen 9: evermore
"long story short, it was a bad time; long story short, i survived." you grew up on a farm isolated from the rest of the world. even though you had loving parents and all the animals a child could want, you wanted nothing more than a big family. as soon as you could, you knew you'd have the picture-perfect family you'd always dreamed of...or so you thought. - traits: good, foodie, proper - aspiration(s): big happy family, master chef - career: culinary (chef branch) - world: any objectives - as soon as you become a young adult, move out of your parents' house and to a new world. - get a job in the culinary career to support yourself. - become romantically involved with the first sim you meet. have a whirlwind romance and get married only to find out that they have the hates children trait. - reach level 5 of your career before quitting to focus on family and saving your marriage. - have four children with your spouse. - when you become an adult, divorce them and move your family to a new world. your spouse gets weekend visits. - rejoin the culinary career back at level 5 and continue to level 10. it is okay to cheat to get here! - master the cooking and knitting skills. - marry a coworker and have two more children. - optional: open a restaurant called olive garden!
🕰️ gen 10: midnights
"i'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror...it must be exhausting, always rooting for the anti-hero." your family is a big, blended mess of people who aren't exactly the best, but they tried. and now it's your turn. you always wanted to be better than your siblings, but your parents always preached that all of you meant the same to them. can you prove your worth as the best to them and yourself? - traits: self-absorbed, ambitious, adventerous - aspiration(s): extreme sports enthusiast - career: part-time barista - world: mt. komorebi objectives - have low relationships with each of your siblings. - master the skiing, snowboarding, fitness, and rock climbing skills. - meet and date a sim you meet on the slopes. - have a family after you master one of the winter skills. - reconnect with your siblings - optional: decorate with midcentury decor!

How it started: A random musing, could I write a challenge that forced me to deviate from playing fundamentally nice/good sims, without having total miscreants and exploring more of the game?
How it’s going: Below, a narrative driven TS4 legacy challenge in which each generation has a “poison” trait to contend with. Their goals are based loosely on the properties/colours/flower meanings of various poisonous or toxic plants.
There is a Sims 3 Version here. I’m playtesting it over at @poisongardensims and tweaking the rules as I go!
More legible Google doc here - or rules under the cut!
Legacy rules - Every Generation
Complete the relevant career, aspiration and max the skill(s)
I’ve tried to leave room for creativity and your story inc. a trait slot per gen. Feel free to change rules to match your packs/story idea. The only thing you must keep is the “poison” trait for each gen, and keeping the challenge level the same by swapping out a maxed skill for another skill etc.
Each heir should try and have their urn saved and a portrait painted.
Kids can be biological or adopted except in Gen 9.
Play it berry/banilla or vanilla with the colours used in decor/clothes.
If you decide to try and wanna let me know tag #poisongardenlegacy or #simspgl and I’ll boost. I’m currently playtesting under the same tag and tweaking as I go.
GEN ONE | Aconite
Beware; A Deadly Foe is Near
Raised by a paranoid mother, your founder has been taught to fend for herself and trust no-one. After running away from a dark event in your past, you live in almost complete isolation, nature is your family and your protector, and your bite is worse than your bark. You swear you need nothing and nobody but yourself for the rest of your life.
Colours: Pale Green & Deep blue || Traits: Loner, Loves Outdoors + Your Pick
Skill to Max: Herbalism || Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast
Living situation rules
Private + Off the grid lot traits. Try and pick an isolated lot in a rural-ish world.
[OPTIONAL Cottage Living - Simple Living Lot Challenge]
Indoor space limited to 32 tiles (tiny home).
Vibe - Use hedges/trees to hide your lot’s buildings. Once you build up money, house style is up to you, but in theory you’ve built it yourself so keep it simple, keep it tiny!
Start up
This is a rags to riches gen - you can use your start-up funds to buy at most a water collector, solar panel, a grill, a woodworking bench, gardening stuff with basic seed packs x 1. With leftover cash you can set up either an indoor sleeping space or a tent, an outhouse etc. Make it as hard as you like
You should not start out with a generator, fridge or oven or any sort of nice house situation. You want em you better save up!
Decorate in a survivalist type style, then reduce funds to 100 simoleons to start play.
Relationships
You may only meet/romance/socialise with other sims in a vacation world (Granite Falls or Selvadorado - if you don’t have these, choose a neighbourhood you don’t live in to act as your “vacation” world) where you go to gather ingredients. You can change this rule to suit your story, but the main thing is that you basically pick one off-lot location that is your hunting ground for any relationships.
You should not tell the other parent about any children and the children should not leave the lot aside from school (foraging, for story purposes) until they’re teens. At school they may not use the socialise interaction.
You may only leave your lot to “trade” (vacation) or “forage” (travel to other neighbourhoods in search of seeds). You may only forage at night.
Any sims who auto interact with you you must be mean to, if they persist, you fight them. If they seriously wont stop… maybe they die
Money Making
You make what you can and fund what you can’t by selling your produce/makes/finds etc.
If you have Cottage Living, you MUST go to the stalls in town or Creature Keeper in order to sell your produce (and items from your inventory). For an extra challenge, you may choose only do this while the Finchwick Fair is on on Saturdays.
Optional Extras
Grow a death flower and pass this through all the generations when each heir reaches teen. You shouldn’t use it.
Grow a Wolfsbane (Aconite!) flower and [CL] enter it in the Finchwick Fair as a low key evil joke
Make Every Canning Recipe and have em on a survival shelf
Have an evil chicken (Cottage Living)
---------------------------------------
Gen Two | Lily of the Valley Sweetness/Tears
You’ve been shielded from the world but a chance encounter as a teen made you dream of a bigger world than your family plot. Running away on your 18th birthday, the big wide world may be uglier than you dreamed.
Colours: Green + White || Traits: Foodie, squeamish + your choice
Skills to Max: Wellness, baking || Aspiration: Soulmate
Relationship Rules
You become infatuated with the first stranger you meet as a teen, sneak out with them, they will be your only external contact until you move out.
Give them the non-committal trait. They should never become a boy/girlfriend or marry you, or even share a room with you.
Living situation rules
Your teen obsession takes you in when you run away on your YA birthday, but it’s an unequal partnership that leaves you as lonely as you ever were in the wild. Once you move out you may not have any contact with your parent.
You effectively become a live in housekeeper, cook and then nanny when you have their child. Baking is your one outlet aside from your love for your child.
When your child ages to child, you steal enough money to leave. You may cheat if necessary to have the funds to buy a basic starter home (under 20k) in a new neighbourhood where you know nobody. A kindly neighbour offers support and a second chance at love… if you can let yourself trust them.
Making Money:
You may not have a job until you get your own place. Then you may take any part time job/jobs to support you or own a bakery.
If you have the cupcake machine while at your baby daddy’s you can sell cupcakes to the bakery to make money for your escape/life afterwards
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
[CL]As a child, befriend a wild animal who is your only friend until you move out.
Max the child motor skill due to your parent’s obsession with you being able to run away from stuff.
[HSY] - sneak out to a teen hang lot to meet your secret crush/love.
Don’t take up yoga/wellness until after you leave your toxic first love.
Your child(ren) should never eat quick meals. Always cook, as many recipes as possible, and make sure to bake a cake for every birthday.
Write a cookbook [Cottage Living]
---------------------------
Gen Three | Rosary Pea Pretty poisonous
You grew up in a financially struggling household with a parent who believed a deep breath and a cookie could fix everything. You’re pretty sure that money is actually the answer. You pursue fame and the adoration that comes with it. Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy security.
Colours: White, Deep Red || Traits: Self absorbed, materialistic + your choice
Skills to max: Charisma + the skill associated with the flavour of fame you’re pursuing
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Relationship: Marriage is just another transaction. You prioritise a savvy partnership that will help you climb the ladder. Folks say you’re a gold-digger - you say you’re just gold.
Your spouse should be more famous/wealthy/connected than you.
Once you have locked them down, you look to meet your needs elsewhere. Have at least one affair. It is up to you whether you regret this, leave/kill your spouse/have a series of not so secret lovers. Whatever fits your character.
You may have children with whatever combo you like, though your heir should be born during your status spouse’s lifetime to inherit their wealth.
Living situation rules: the flashier the better
Prior to your marriage, live in the most expensive rental lot you can afford, even if you can’t keep the lights on. Take as much of your parents money as you can.
Move in with your status spouse as soon as possible. Add 5k for “wedding pictures” and spend their money on all of the upgrades and status symbols you desire
Making Money: Depending on your packs, pursue either the entertainer, or actor careers.
Optional Extras
Complete the Admired Icon teen aspiration
Pursue fame - up to you how successful you are! Are you forever a z list wannabe or do you make it big and find it hollow?
Maintain a specific image - pick your style and look and regularly update your outfits as you try and cling on to youth and status.
Enrol your kids in afterschool drama clubs, social clubs and make sure they are socialising with other wealthy “celeb” children.
Gen Four - Lantana
An Invasive Species
Your parents believed only in status and wealth and it left you rich, but with an empty feeling inside. You decide to find meaning by giving back to those less fortunate than yourself, whether they ask for your help or not...
Colours: Red/Orange/Yellow || Traits: Adventurous, snob + your choice
Skill to max: Photography, Selvadorada culture (or Vampire Lore if you’re into that)
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Relationship rules: There are just soooo many interesting sims in the world and you can’t limit yourself or them to monogamy.
You collect lovers around the world the same way you collect artefacts and memories, and if you sometimes end up with a souvenir in the form of a child, well that’s just another gift.
Have at least two kids from different parents, only one genetic donor per homeworld. Up to you how deep the relationship goes.
Partners can’t move in.
Have a distant relationship with your kids, make sure they have a nice nanny or whatever but you shouldn’t be the one doing their skills or homework, just bringing them inappropriate gifts!
Living situation rules: Live wherever you want, you’ll hardly ever be there! You can stay in your parents gaudy home or sell it and buy yourself a pied-a-terre. And keep it classy, you might be on an endless gap yah but you still like nice things.
Making Money: Live on your parents earnings - that’s what they’re for! If you do need a job (ew?) then you can be an influencer, a photographer or an archaeologist. You just love exotic culture after all!
Optional Extras:
Develop a following on Trendi and make the town wear your amazing (or terrible) designs
Complete as many collections as you can, display them.
Eat every world food from the streetfood stands
Spend a game week in each vacation world you have (Granite Falls, Selvadorada, Mt Komorebi)
Explore the Jungle Adventure temples, hoard as much stuff as you can
Gen Five - Tansy
This Means War
One parent viewed you more as a curiosity than as a person and the other was never about. Worse, they completely squandered your family fortune. With nothing left but a name, you don’t have much choice but to pursue less savory means of survival
Colours: Yellow - 2nd colour your pick if you like Traits: Evil, Creative + your choice
Skill to max: Mischief, Handiness | Aspiration: Public Enemy
Set Up: Move all the collection items and treasures your parent amassed to the family inventory and leave it there for Gen 10. They were “lost”, along with your fortune in a series of shady “charity” ventures.
Relationship rules: You don’t trust easily and you don’t trust often.
Your prospective partner must reach BFF and Partners in Crime status before you can initiate any romance.
Once partnered, only death can part you. Interpret that as you will.
All children - have at least 2 - must be with this partner.
The children should be opposites and you should have a clear favourite who is not your heir.
Living situation rules:
At the start of the Generation you inherit your parent’s estate... and their debts. Take over one of their properties (their actual primary residence or a vacation home), sell all the furniture except bathroom and kitchen basics, then set your money to $1000. Their debts are settled, but you’re on your own in an empty shell.
Once you’ve rebuilt, you build a hidden lair which must be locked to all but you. Anyone entering your home should see the home of an upright citizen. Your kids are seemingly perfect, things are tidy, but all is not as it seems.
Making money: Be a criminal. Take what you can, wherever you can to restore your fortunes. You deserve it right?
Extras:
Infiltrate the most exclusive in game club and take it over, turning it to evil and expand it to maximum members. Have the dastardly club perk
Pass as many diabolical NAPs as possible
Groom one of your children (not the heir) to take over your criminal empire, max their toddler skills and make sure they age up with the emotional control trait. Make this child head of a club that the other kid isn’t allowed to join.
------------------------------
Gen 6 | Bittersweet Nightshade
Effective Against Bitchcraft
You grew up hating your seemingly perfect sibling, and how your parent clearly preferred them. Your goal in life is simple, to beat them, and the world at everything. (If you like playing with magic, you could make the sibling magical, just to really rub things in).
Colours: Purple + Yellow | Traits: Jealous, Ambitious + Your Pick
Skill to max: Whichever your sibling is best at when you age to YA + Research and Debate
Aspiration: Mansion Baron OR Villainous Valentine
Relationship rules:
Steal the partner(s) you want from someone else. Ideally your sibling’s true love but really anyone you take a liking to. All romantic partners should be in a relationship/married when you initiate romance.
Become enemies with their former partners
Take all their money when you move them in
Do not adopt any step children. Either your partner (or a nanny) should stay home and ensure your kids max toddler skills, gets As and generally make you look good.
Living situation rules: The best house ever. Huge. Expensive. Your sibling could never, Bonus points if you live next door to them and dump trash on their lot. Bonus bonus points if it’s a McMansion
Making Money: Politics call to you - if you run the world then you can make your sibling and everyone that reminds you a bit of them illegal. No you don’t think that’s problematic at all.
Optional Extras
Complete the Drama Llama teen aspiration
Have a bad reputation
Only be friends with people you consider beneath you. If your friends ever beat you at something or get promoted above you, you must be mean to them until you’re enemies.
Start a club for hangers on whose activities include being mean to your enemies and is bitter rivals with your siblings club. Fight them.
------------------ Gen Seven | Digitalis
Light fingers, light touch
Your parent was possessive, destructively intense and you are more interested in just drifting through life, banking on your innocent looks to fly under the radar and your athletic skill to run away very fast from bad situations. You never meant to start stealing things, but you prefer your way of getting what you want to your parents, and its kinda fun knowing that your lifestyle could destroy their legacy!
Colours: Pink & Purple | Traits: Kleptomaniac, Romantic + your pick
Skill to max: Athletic | Aspiration: The Curator
Romance: It really couldn’t have been much less convenient for the person who stole your heart to be a detective(or military/secret agent). They’re rigid and law abiding while you’re a free-spirited thief, but having seen what a marriage of convenience and control did to your parents, you decide that you’d rather hide your less legal activities and follow your heart.
Living Situation Rules: Having grown up in an ostentatious monstrosity of a house, you prefer simpler things. Your one extravagance is a gallery to proudly display your “collections”. Your partner thinks you’re just a big thrifter
Money making: Your primary income as a singleton should be stealing/collecting and selling your “finds”. If required, you can supplement this with odd jobs. Once you’re partnered you can join the decorator career if you choose, which may also help with your thieving! Alternately you can become a digital artist but only do the illegal jobs.
Extras:
Complete the Live Fast Teen aspiration
Access as many hidden worlds (Sylvan Glade/Cave of Sulani/Sixam etc) as you have access to an bring back a souvenir or stolen item from each
Maintain an excellent reputation - you may be a thief but you’re a damn good one!
Get involved in your kids lives, encourage their interests, your moral compass may not point north but you believe in them 100%
Take at least one family adventure holiday, ideally to Mt Komorebi and climb the mountain with your boo/ski with the kiddos
-------------------------------------------
Gen Eight| Hydrangea
Understand I’m Heartless
Growing up in the dazzle of your parents fairytale love, you thought the world was a magical place, until the sudden death of one parent left the other one broken. You vowed never to give someone else that power over you. Like the hydrangea whose flower colour is changed by the acidity of its surroundings, you are changed by this shift in environment. Will you ever feel differently?
Colours: Pink & Blue | Traits: Non-committal, childish + your pick
Skill to max: Mixology + Juice Fizzing | Aspiration: Serial Romantic
Romance: Romance is fun, until it isn’t and you're terrified of love ruining your life so you’ll do anything in your power to stop it happening. You’ll take on responsibility for any kids you unintentionally parent, because you quite like children, but it would take something truly miraculous to make you let someone into your heart.
Living situation rules: Do not move in a partner sim until you have completed the serial romantic aspiration. Any children you parent must live with you, you can cheat a 5k “child support” payment for any kid you move in.
Money Making: Culinary (mixologist) branch. Juiced lips reveal their secrets and when you know someone at their worst, they can’t surprise you. You never expected to make a living getting people drunk - but it’s honest work
Extras:
Own a bar - if you choose instead of doing the career you can run a bar/restaurant that focuses on booze, and helps you pick up partners
Take full custody of any children you create. If you play with mods, always use risky woohoo. If you don’t, flip a coin every time you want to woohoo to decide if it’s a woohoo or try for baby.
Moonlight as a depressed comic or musician
Complete the poster collection
Mix every type of drink
Throw a party once a week
-----------------------------
Gen Nine Lobelia
Malevolent Pen
You don’t have a terribly high opinion of people. Growing up knowing that you weren’t an intended child has always made you critical of yourself , which has made it easiest for you to just pass that criticism along. Turns out you can get paid for the kind of bitchy writing you excel at.
Colour: Blue and white | Traits: Perfectionist, mean + your pick
Skill to max: writing | Aspiration: Bestselling author
Romance: You choose a partner you feel superior to, and always keep them guessing.
Use at least one mean interaction a day on any live in partners you try to “improve them”. You write novels about terrible wives and scheming husbands but can’t recognise the behaviour in yourself.
If your partner drops into the red for two consecutive days they will leave you. Give them half of any money you have when you move them out.
You must have a child with someone. Don’t adopt this generation, You’d hopefully fail the screening.
Living situation: You’re vain, judgy and kinda terrible, so of course you have the kind of fantastic home that looks great in the types of pretentious magazines that love to profile you and not so subtly imply you’re a diva.
Money making: Your poisoned pen is in demand from the moment you start a gossip column in the school paper. Pursue a career as a writer or critic and give any books you write suitably bitchy names.
Optional Extras
Never have any real friends, only acquaintances. Introduce yourself to every sim you see. If you get too close to someone, you must push them away.
Use neighbourhood stories to break up/mess with your community’s progress. Write books about it
Gain a bad reputation
Have a pet that you actively prefer to your child, pamper them, build them a bedroom, love them in a way you never could a kid
You have terrible fomo. Every time you’re invited to do something, flip a coin and if it’s heads you have to go, even if it interrupts your wedding!
--------------------
Gen Ten Hemlock
I Will Cause Thy Death
Your parent kept detailed records of family history, and looking back, you’re pretty sure your line deserves to die out! Some of them have been ok, but mostly terrible. You dedicate your life to scholarship of your lineage, sure that if you don’t reproduce and take care to make known the misdeeds of your ancestors then others will avoid repeating their mistakes.
Colour: Black & White | Traits: Gloomy, hates children + your pick
Skill to max: Logic | Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
Romance: You plan never to date, but in later life a research assistant becomes a friend, and becomes more. You decide that denying yourself love would be counterproductive, so you enjoy it while it lasts, confident that you’ll still never become a parent…
Living situation: You build a house with a room dedicated to each generation that has gone before, collecting in it any artifacts, portraits or urns you have held on to. This serves as a daily reminder why your line must end with you. Your love understands this fully….right?
Money making: Pick any career or skill that you feel like exploring and makes narrative sense for your final gen. Detective or lawyer could be good. Complete this career.
Extras: Visit each world where a previous generation has lived and try and do a good deed. (e.g join a protest, clean litter in Sulani, give money to a performer - hell save Strangerville if you’re feeling ambitious) - interpret this how you well but the main point is that you try to make amends... so much so that you ruin your own life by getting lost in the past
If you’ve managed to hold on to it, plan and grow a death flower plant.
The legacy ends when your lover vanishes in your old age following a suspicious illness. You try not to dwell on the fact that they had symptoms similar to pregnancy...

Mega Man Ideal Game (for me)
So, playing Mega Man 11 made me realize what my ideal Mega Man game looks like.
Basically: Mega Man Universe/Powered Up meets Halo: The Master Chief Collection
From Mega Man 11/Powered Up/Universe
Cutsey, chibi-ish, 2.5D art style
Lots of options for controls, playable characters, etc.
Maybe even just uses the MM11 engine
Double gear system as option (circle back later)
Opposite philosophy from the Legacy Collections - more about representing the old games rather than preserving
From Master Chief Collection (especially when it went to PC):
Unite the entire series under a single application
Start early access, adding one game at a time
Universal controls and settings
Introducing new levels of customization not seen before in original games
Singular hub the whole thing, universal features
Cross-game playlists (all ice levels back to back, that kind of thing)
Tons of leaderboards and achievements
Unique timed challenges
Incentives to play all the games in every style
So more specifically, I don't really need any more robot masters or plot. I feel like we have covered all the bases already. Instead, I want to see every Mega Man game rebuilt from the ground up in a unified engine. They could be sold as a la carte DLC, or perhaps in chunks of "season passes" with maybe 3 games coming out a year. Capcom already does something similar with their arcade collections. Just like those, I want tons of accessibility options and challenge modes across the board, universal screen filters, cute unlocks tied to achievements.
I would settle for something like the recent retro remakes that just redo the graphics but let you toggle with a button, but I'd prefer to have deeper QoL changes.
Specifically, my vision for this game hingers on encouraging players to replay these games over and over again with something a little different every time. Not just by offering achievements, but by offering a myriad of modes that don't actually require huge changes to implement, but make the games feel very different.
This is why I would want the games rebuilt in a new engine, almost like a map pack for Mega Man 11: so that we can add something like Roll as a playable character without having to hard code that into every single game. Admittedly, 7-8 and (hopefully included) MM&Bass are different enough to require some more work, but I think this isn't an impossible vision.
Again, here is just an example of what I am imagining: you go to boot up any of the Mega Man games, 1-11, and you are presented with an overwhelming grid of options, like:
Playable characters: Mega Man (with variants for his ability sets, maybe we can find a way to dynamically alter stage obstacles when he doesn't have slide, for example. Maybe that is asking too much, but the folks in the Metroid/Zelda randomizer communities seem to know a thing or two about stretching games to their limits without making them unplayable), Roll (again, just give her one tiny change like a double jump or altered buster to give her a totally different feel), Proto, Bass, Duo, maybe even X/Zero, maybe even Mega Man.EXE and Volnutt if we are getting crazy, or even potentially every single robot master like Powered Up does. Again, that would require reworking the stages, which wouldn't be manually feasible, but I am sure there is a way this could be accommodated. I would also love the ability to specifically go through each Mega Man game as a fully powered Mega Man from any other game, but again that demands reworking stages, especially ones like Sword Man that use earlier abilities.
Modes: hardcode in restricted modes like buster only, weakness only, no weakness, no charge shot, no slide, one hit, etc. as well as toggles for stuff like pits, spikes, higher health, etc. plus challenges like randomized weapons, reverse screen, time trials, boss rush, things like that.
Even just those two things alone could multiply to create a nearly unlimited amount of new replay value.
As for new QoL changes, I basically just want to see everything from Mega Man 11: hotswapping with buttons or right stick, new character model for each weapon, expanded tutorial, lots of difficulty options, auto shoot, auto charge, optional dedicated slide button, and I would love to see the option to bring the double gear system (or at least the speed gear in the form of a limited-use slowdown) in all the old games as an optional mode. Same with having the slide in 1-2, charge shot in 1-3, jetpack in earlier games, characters in games they shouldn't be in, etc.
TLDR: I want a unified remake of the Mega Man 1-10 in the MM11 engine.
I feel like The X series is too all-over-the-place to do this with, while the Zero and ZX games are too similar to be worth cross-pollinating this way, although again I would love to see X and Zero adapted to classic Mega Man, even if they end up being overpowered.
The other pitch for this game is basically to just...make Mega Man Universe and have it contain the official levels packed-in. Mario Maker has really proven how to do a AAA retro DIY game already, and so has the fangame Mega Man Maker as far as I can tell.
Alternatively, just make something like Power Fighters but include all 88 robot masters. That is still a hefty game, especially if you can build any kind of replay value in.

10 and 16 (I miss these ask games aaaaaa)
10. How would you describe the way you play the sims?
like an unseen observer. ever since doing gameplay for simblr i've been doing a lot more intervention in my sims' lives, but most of the time i just sit back, let free will take over, and watch them get into situations.
16. How do you choose names for your sims?
well you know me. names are my special interest. >:) it depends what i'm using the sims for. like, when i'm playing a legacy challenge, i always consider what the parents might name the child while still wanting to make the names themed according to the challenge. for instance, Ravi means sun (citrine heir), and it's an Indian name because Channary is supposed to be South Asian and she's very much the type to pay homage to her roots. Emilee on the other hand was named by two young art students, so it makes sense that her name would be kinda "unique" without being too Out There. and then of course both Aster and Amaranth are named after red(ish) flowers, because Emilee is a flower arranger. i don't know who the sapphire heir is going to be yet, but i can bet their name is going to pay some homage to an old Hollywood movie star, because Aster is a romantic little actor.
anyway, that turned into a HUGE ramble, but this is the thought that goes into naming my sims :') for other sims, like townies or entries for other people's challenges, i usually use a combination of random generators for names from whatever culture i want them to be from or just whatever name sounds best to me that pops into my head (usually its either a first name or a last name. when i made Audrey Spencer all i knew was that i wanted her name to be Audrey. and when i made Gabi Jing the only name i had at the time was Jing.)
