Random Ninjago Thought #2

You know Kai? The red hot head from Ninjago?

Yeah what if I told you that dude's parents abandoned him and he had to raise a baby girl by the age of FUCKING FIVE. Plus, dude had to run a fucking blacksmith shop, while also trying to raise his sister ALONE? He's not just a fucking hothead, he's a literal PARENTAL FIGURE. LIKE HE IS THE DAD (OR THE UNCLE WHATEVER BUT STILL).

(The amount of love and respect I have for him honestly like, I love him for it and I'm proud of how far he's gotten).

Masc! Reader with a cat who has really violent zoomies at times (to the point of possibly knocking the furniture down or making heavy furniture sway) & a confused, and very much scared of the said cat, character just chilling as the said cat starts and the reader just goes about life like nothing's happening at all. While the character anxiously stays by their sides, investigates or possibly gets surprise attack spooked by the said cat.

I know we all like the "Lloyd was still mentally a child, forced into the position of an adult" dynamic. But I think there's some pretty interesting potential in "Lloyd popped back into existence as a fully formed adult without having to actually live life" approach.

Like, that's also some prime material for some weird angst as well. Yesterday I was 10 and now I am a full functioning human. Almost like getting amnesia or something. Like you got all the development, but none of the memories or experiences to back it up. That's messed up.

Rating the ninja on how bad I think their "Hear Me Out"s would be, because it popped into my head

1 being pretty normal, 10 being an absolute "what the fuck is wrong with you"

Kai: 7/10

He'd put down Lord Garmadon (not the human form). Half as a joke. (This is inspired by a Tumblr post, but I lost it)

Nya: 5/10

I think her time as The Sea desensitized her a bit to "nonhuman" traits. She'd probably say one of the Serpentine tribes, and that's it.

Lloyd: 4/10

He'd put down Harumi, and I put her as a 4/10 because that is a "hey dude she tried to kill you"

Cole: 3/10

"Okay don't judge me..." And it's just a normal ass man with one weird feature (no hate to Geo)

Zane: 2/10

Literally only on here because P.I.X.A.L is technically not human (but neither is he)

Jay: 10/10.

He'd walk up and put down something like The Overlord, or Krux and Acronix with no shame.

Okay, here me out on this Ninjago/Dragons Rising community

Edit: Sorry, spoilers, it was late and slipped my mind…

Ed and Edna find (Evil) Jay and after realizing he has lost his memory, takes him home to show him some old pictures in hopes of him remembering something.

They eagerly show him his old baby photos and pictures with the ninja. Jay stays absolutely silent, starting to realize that everything Ras told him, was a lie.

Then Ed and Edna turn on the Tv and it shows the Ninja saving the merged realms or whatever and are just excited, pointing out Nya as is Fiancé/Wife, Cole as his best friend, and they say something like, “Aren’t you just so glad that these people aren’t just your friends, your family.

But these were the people Jay hurt, pushed away, swore to hate, but they loved him unconditionally.

Random Ninjago Thought #3

Jaya was kinda...toxic in its early stages.

I remember the scene in Skybound where the two of them are in the tower, and it mad eme realize, Jay was really stepping over the boundaries. Nya even said that they discussed it in a comment in Rebooted. But the beautiful thing about Skybound is that Jay learned that his way of showing affection to Nya was actually making her uncomfortable and even unhappy.

In my head, Jay's way of showing affection is very outward and I doubt he knows alot about boundaries, but I think that's purely because of the way he's been raised. He's raised alone in a junkyard, and from Snakebitten in Rise of Snakes, its clear that he didnt have as much privacy. Essentially, he's always shared his life with his parents, sort of where they shared with him and he shared with them. I don't think he was in a situation where someone didnt share with him in a relationship until he met Nya.

He learned what boundaries are when he met Nya. Nya's grown up without parents, and the only parental figure in her life wouldve been Kai. Knowing Kai, he probably was very protective (still is tbh) but he knows his sister has her own interests and life of her own, I think he realized that when she was revealed to be Samurai X.

Now what happens when you put Jay and Nya together?

At first, its sweet. They barely know each other, but both are attracted to one another. Plus, they start caring for one another.

I think at some point Nya realized that Jay was invading her personal space, and they wouldve had the conversation about it.

Then throw in the love triangle (that's a discussion for another post).

But anyways, this fight about boundaries, independence and respect results in their breakup. However, Jay doesn't let her go, and even worse, Nya is at a tense point in her life where she's struggling to find herself.

Ocen she's fully open with Jay, letting go of the anger, and she tells him how's she's been feeling, Jay realizes what he's been doing to her. Nya hasn't felt like a proper part of the group, and from then on, he doesn't refer to her as just "his girl" but also as "a ninja". (I remember a specific line from The Way Back - finale episode of Skybound).

Thus, this sort of bond of respect and love for one another makes them both a much better couple and an even better match for one another. Nya learns that she can be herself and still be respected as a ninja just as much as the other ninja while still being in a relationship with the guy she loves; Jay learns that boundaries are necessary, and aren't necessarily a negative thing, but can make a relationship stronger.

Plus, watching the seasons after Skybound just make seeing them so much more heartwarming. Just look at how far they've come now.
