Soukoku A snippet of a fic I’ve been writing

Context: little Dazai and Chuuya at an orphanage! (Yes, this orphanage, no, I didn’t get out of it yet, I think it’s only fair for us to be stuck in it together) Shuuji is Dazai (I love the 'Dazai changed his name' trope) and Sarah is a random character I needed to take the 'adult' role.

“We are getting old.” Shuuji whispers, receiving in return a scowl from Chuuya.

“We are still seven years old.” The boy replied, but he doesn’t get it, they were almost ancient in the adoptive system age.

“We are like dogs.” Shuuji insists.

“Im not a dog”

“I don’t like to be a dog either, personally I'm more of a cat person, but we still are them. Filthy little creatures who could do anything just to be picked up and given a home and an owner”

“They won't be our owners, just our families”

Shuuji sighs “Anyway…we are dogs” That gets an eye roll from Chuuya. “At least at the eyes of the adults, so…. just like them, you should count your age seven times more, we as a matter of fact are forty nine years old”

“That’s so stupid. Why are you worrying about that? You haven't even completed a year in the orphanage yet.”

“You did, last week, which means I am just a month away from that mark as well.” He says getting frustrated, normally people find him adorable, but he guesses that the accident scars weren’t really the best of sights, but there was nothing he could do about them.

Everytime they were almost moving from the step of the interviews, to the ‘come try to live with us for 6 months’ step, they somehow manage to see his scars and just like that Shuuji is made of glass in their eyes, too fragile, too much trouble to handle, and they ‘don’t think they are suited to take care of a kid like him’.

“We are getting older and old children don’t get adopted.” Shuuji gets up and picks a bunch of papers filled with graphics and numbers from his backpack. “You can see it here, statistically our chances of being picked up decreases 20% each year we get older.”

“You are crazy, people aren't numbers who can be put to scale like that.” Chuuya says now getting invested.

“I disagree, look, that kid over there.” Shuuji points to their front where the other kids are playing. “The one with a ponytail, she is five right? Statistically kids at that age should have weaker legs making them more likely to fall at least one time per hour. And we have been here in the common area for what? Forty minutes? She should fall any time by now.”

“Uh, you wanna bet?” Chuuya glares at him, picking up a lollipop and dangling it in front of them. “I give you one lollipop if you win, and if I win, you..” He drifts his eyes to the ceiling as if he was thinking, Shuuji knew it wasn’t the case. “Do my homework for a week.”

“I don’t really think that’s a really fair exchange. Besides, Sarah said you shouldn’t stop doing your homework, even if it is hard.”

Chuuya snorts. “It is not hard. I just have some trouble concentrating, it’s boring.” He sighs and bumps his back at the chair again. As soon as Shuuji thought it was over he delivers 3 more lollipops at the desk and looks maliciously at him. “4 lollipops and a week of my desserts.”

Shuuji breath closes. That is a lot of sweets. “Okay. If she falls in 20 minutes I win, not, then you win.”

Chuuya agrees excitedly, his eyes yelling with anticipation, and Shuuji could only feel a little bit bad, but it was easily obfuscated when he thinks about the sweet little treats he would get.

Their conversation continued, but now, with a glimpse of tension, Shuuji notices Chuuya's gaze switching between the kid and the clock as the time passed. 15 minutes. They talk about the classes they would have. 10 minutes. Favorite show, none of them actually paying much attention to that. 5 minutes. 1 minute.

The kid passes running beside them and Shuuji smoothly extends his leg in the passageway. Neither to say the kid splashes into the floor, followed by a shouting cry.

“That’s not fair!” Chuuya yells while he punches the desk and Shuuji looks at him with pure innocence.

“She did or did not fall?”

“She did but-”

“The bet was about whether she would fall or not, no one mentioned on the how.” He passes the hand on the lollipops and shuffles them into his coat. “Looking forward to next week. So many desserts!”

Chuuya tenses, starting to get up only to be swayed by the slow approximation of Sarah. He sits back up and gives Shuuji a malicious smile “Good luck.”

“I don’t know where that came from, but it’s unacceptable to do any harm to the other kids.” Sarah scolded, clearly angry, and – adding a twist of guilt in Shuuji's stomach – disappointed. “You two, probation for the next week, neither of you will get dessert, followed by supervised -by me- studies every day after class.”

“I didn’t do anything! Shuuji was the one who–”

“And what was the reason for that action?”

“I mean–”

“We made a bet about whether she would fall or not.” Shuuji sais.

Sarah sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. “That’s not something you bet on, actually, you shouldn’t bet about anything at all.”

“Okay” Chuuya mutters, giving Shuuji a death glare. “We won’t do it again, I promise”

“Good, but I’m not the one you should say that to.” She points at the kid. “Go on then.”

Both of the boys walk over to the kid and in a stumbling way bow apologising, that satisfacts Sarah, and they somehow manage to walk away, not eager for the next week of her angry looks.

“You're a total traitor, do you know that?” Chuuya whispers as they walk away from Sarah's gaze.

“She asked me, and I replied.” He shrugs his shoulders.

“You didn’t want to be punished alone.”

“Well, yeah, you were as guilty as I was.”

“No I wasn’t.”

“Sarah disagrees.”

Chuuya lets out a frustrating noise.

“Okay, forget it, wanna go out and play?”

Shuuji looks at him like he has grown a second head.

“Just like that?”

“What? You want me to yell at you and not speak to you for the whole next week?”

“Something like that.”

“I’m not stupid.” Chuuya kicks a stone in front of him. “We are roommates, that would be really annoying, and besides…”

“Besides?”

“You are my only friend in this pit of the world.”

Shuuji's eyes glimmer and he lets out a big smile.

“You are my only friend too.” He giggles.

“Yeah no kidding, we are the only two freaks of the orphanage.”

“Hey, not cool.”

“You got bullied almost every week since you got here.” Chuuya says glaring at him. He technically was right, but that was before, when Shuuji still cried a lot and was an easy target, he isn’t like that anymore, he is better. “And I am too crazy for them to come close.”

“You are not!” Shuuji stops and looks at Chuuya. “They are just stupid.”

“Stupid or not, that doesn’t change our situation.”

“Well, I like our situation.”

Chuuya looks at him, the grumpiness seemingly forgotten, and a small smile on his face.

“Yeah, I think so too.”

This stupid "Your Name" Bucktommy AU won't leave my brain, and while I don't have enough faith in my writing skills to actually write the damn thing (and it would be my first fanfic... ever?? and that's a project that seems a bit too big for me lmao), I DID write down what I'm picturing some of the "rules" Buck and Tommy have for each other while in the other's body. Mostly just for fun. (Because Tommy would be switching in 2006, the iPhone does not exist yet, so all of his notes are written in an actual physical journal. All of Buck's notes would be on the Notes app of his phone)

TOMMY: 1) Evan, stop running into burning buildings when you don’t have to while in my body. If I wake up in a hospital bed for the fifth time this month, I might actually lose it.

Hi! What are your thoughts on the show domina?

Hello!

I apologize for being a little late to write this but I've recently been dubbing Peppa Pig in Latin so I've been a little busy.

How engaging it is: 9/10

Personally, my attention span is like 0. I really struggle to finish shows or books, so it's honestly extremely impressive that I managed to finish this show. I did get kind of bored at the last episode, but it's a miracle I only got bored at the last episode.

Character's appearances: 7/10

I absolutely love Domina's choice of actors. Everyone looks exactly like they look in my head. Apart from one person. Augustus! He doesn't look that bad in the later episodes; the only major thing I don't like is hair color. But in the first two episodes, I could not get over his hair. what is that haircut im gonna cry

I'm sorry, that is not Octavian.

I just don't know what happened. Like, they could've gotten any random blond twink off the streets to be Octavian and I would be happy. But they really had to make Octavian look like that, huh.

But I do have two things I like about the young Octavian. Number one, his actor is actually the right age for once. The actor is in his twenties, so he's actually around Octavian's age at the time. Which is an actual miracle. Movies always use much older actors for people like Octavian and Britannicus. Number two, he's much smaller than Agrippa! Eeeeeee! I give that detail the 100% historically accurate stamp!

Which leads me to Agrippa. HJKFDKJHFSKS I love the actors they got for Agrippa. Both young Agrippa and old Agrippa, they look perfect! Words can not describe how much I love Agrippa's physical appearance in Domina.

Meanwhile, for older Augustus, I can look at him and go "Huh, I understand that this is Augustus" but I don't like his appearance.

I like how everyone else looks. Tiberius is a little too hot to be Tiberius, ngl.

Dialogue: 8/10

A lot of people complain that all the characters use the f word all the time which is anachronistic because the word "fuck" was invented after ancient Rome or some other dumb reason like that. But the fact they are speaking in English is anachronistic! I'm sure if the ancient romans had that word they would've used it all the time. Anyway, my only problem with the entire thing is that they literally don't use any other swear word. Come on, if the ancient Romans had English, I'm sure they would be more diverse in their choice of swears.

Overall, not counting their overuse of fucks, I quite like the dialogue. I'm still thinking of this part:

[Context: Augustus is really sick and was "speaking" with the dead]

Augustus: I just saw my mother.

Livia: Your mother? How is she?

Augustus: Oh, you know. Dead.

Augustus and Agrippa: 4/10

They hug a few times, I guess. And they're cute together sometimes. And occasionally they just have a moment that reminds me that they're besties. But it's not enough for me. I know I'm sounding picky or critical but you'd understand if you watch it. I'd actually like to show you some statistics.

(by the way, i was an ABOSLUTELY AWFUL data collector. there is no guarantee that this is going to be 100% correct, but it's close enough)

In the Domina fandom of AO3, there are around 3 fics where Agrippa is shipped with Octavian and around 8 fics where he is shipped with someone else.

Meanwhile, in every fic with Agrippa, excluding ones in the Domina fandom, there are around 22 fics where Agrippa is shipped with Octavian and around 5 where he is shipped with someone else.

Something is clearly wrong here.

(I'll probably make another post about these statistics and in that post I will count better so I'll know for sure what the numbers are. But for now, these are the numbers I counted but you shouldn't put too much faith in them)

Historical Accuracy: ???? I forgot but I think it wasn't bad.

Well, of course, Domina is very Livia-centric, so I shouldn't expect many good Augustus and Agrippa moments. But that's pretty much what I signed up for. I would like some more Augustus and Agrippa. I'm not even close to finishing Masters of Rome, but I quite like how they were written in it (apart from the MILLION times Colleen just had to remind the audience that augustus and agrippa were Totally Not Gay. listen, i heard you the first time) So maybe the writers of Domina should've taken inspiration from there.

But I'm not really mad though. This is just a little personal thing that I would've liked to see. But Domina can do whatever it likes. And there *are* cute Augustus and Agrippa scenes in Domina. Just not many. It's fine.

I didn't watch for the historical accuracy, so I honestly forgot if there were any big issues or not. But, it's a drama, not a documentary, so I'm a lot more lax. I'm totally fine with them adding new characters and changing up events as long as they don't make a historical mistake that makes me cry (if the characters of domina went to the colosseum, i would honestly cry) It's a drama. As long as it isn't pretending to be factual, I'm fine with them taking artistic license. But if you were watching for the SHEER accuracy of EVERY event, you might not like it.

Family friendliness: 2/10.

It's not a bad thing that it got such a low number, but I'm just saying that you shouldn't watch Domina with your mom or your kids or something. I'm pretty sure only actual porn has more sex than Domina does. If you watched HBO Rome, you'd understand. And like, there's no warning. One scene is totally normal and the next scene is gay sex.

I think I should do math about this. How many sex scenes are in each episode of Domina? (and hbo rome if i got the time) And what's the average amount of sex scenes per episode? I'm guessing 7. Reblog with which number you're guessing! (guys if you actually reblog with which number you're guessing I will actually be forced to calculate it so make sure you do)

General prettiness: 10/10

The entire show is so beautiful. I could take any screenshot and make it my phone background or something.

Overall: 8/10

I managed to finish it, and I quite enjoyed it. I love how Agrippa looks. I love how beautiful every scene looks. Storytelling-wise, I'd say it was good. My main problem is Octavian's appearance. But it isn't really a big groundbreaking problem (okay actually young octavian is an earthshattering sin. the ghost of julius caesar himself will haunt you forever if you can look at him and go "this is fine") And I'd also like more Augustus and Agrippa scenes. But overall, I'd recommend this show.

john entwistle biography review

ok so first: I didnt really like the biography because I thought it would focus on totally different aspects. John was a musical virtuoso and that hardly ever gets mentioned in the book. But we get exact axccounts on how much money he spent on what day and in which pub he bought which champagne. like wow thanks. The other personal stuff is basic who knowledge you can read in any other Who biography. His autobiographical bits were joy and fun! Maybe the only reason to buy the book in my opinion. He writes totally different than the author...

ANYWAYS: here my fav facts from the book that you probably didnt know before

this is the face of a man who -when his father gave him driving lessons for his 21st birthday as a present- decided driving wasnt really his thing and he spent the money on clothes and parties instead. He never had a drivers license ever and also never desired to have one

the hospital he was born in, was bombarded and destructed one day after his birth

as a child he was really weak and thin and had basically every disease that existed

his family was poor af

his father left the family early and held contact with his son, but soon disappeared with a new family

his stepdad, Gordon, disliked John alot and would ignore him, hated everything John did or said and he let his bad moods out on Johns mother, which caused John to be very silent and observative around the house so that there wouldnt be any trouble

he did everything to please Queenie (his mom) so that there was no fighting, according to Alison

loved drawing and playing but usually alone since he had no friends apart from their dog

he heard a trumpet solo once from a trad jazz band when he was 6 or so and decided he wanted to learn the trumpet

my fav line of the book probably: “despite his own expectations, he passed the exams to go to grammar school” like same

at school he was bullied from the older boys but soon left alone by them because he would fight back with badass comments

he applied for the school band for the trumpet but the tallest guy in the year was chosen (he was the 2nd tallest) which made John mad, but he discovered the french horn

soon he found a friend, mickey brown, at last and he gave him the nickname “ent”

he was so terrible in P.E that he was dismissed with other pupils to play somehwere else, they were called “the hockey misfits” and guess who was among them: Pete Townshend.

yeah as you might know they became besties because they loved music and black humour.

he found himself a gf (alison) and Pete & a school gang (like 4 ppl) and his life seemed to finally get where it should.

his worst subjects were geography and german like wow (im a german geography student lmao)

once they played in a pub and johns stepdad was there and was super angry and gave john a list with his fav pubs and told him “these are the places I never want to hear your fucking music playing”.

after walking home pete decided to switch the guitar and john wanted to become a musician more than ever

Roger found him and John kind of convinced him (it took months apparently) to get Pete into the band and then it all started

he judged the beatles because John Lennons harmonica was “out of tune” in love me do, wow ok you nerd

john started smoking with 20 and was the last one to quit his job for the band and he was against drugs at first (bc he had a “civilized” job) but then decided to give a shit, dyed his hair black, bought cigarettes, smoked dope with pete and did speed too

he wanted to step out of himself and feel good about himself and he was always a fashionnerd so he started buying and trading and selling clothes (he once was dismissed from school bc he wore the school uniform incorrectly)

with 18 or so he was still living at home, had a toy soldier collection and a pet budgie

pete and his college friends made fun of john bc he wasnt a student and still lived at home, although john could have gone to college too and he wanted to, but his stepdad again said no and he had no choice.

he was very awkward and introverted but could open up with his music

he was really into pop art (esp pop art clothes)

was a pseudo mod bc he only liked the fancy clothes and motown music

with the who he found a purpose in his life and finally could be different than ordinary ppl

hated when people touched his hair, he literally hated it

would fuss much about his hair in general

once after a concert they were starving and the room service was alreday home so they had to look on used plates and food wagons and John found a shrimp and said: “who wants to dine with me tonight?” (idk that really made me laugh)

keith moon was john entwistles soulmate and they were the cutest, most iconic and funniest duo ever end of discussion

his amps would soon be called little manhatten bc he had so many bc he wanted to be loud

he actually went to sing at church once when he was like 24 and the band made fun of him then he stopped

in the late 60s he bought a house with alison in a normal neighbourhood and went walking the dogs on sundays and stuff

but he was a party animal and always the last to go

he was really sensitive and cried often according to Alison but only in front of certain people

he would totally step out of his way to please people

when they played at the monterey pop festival they didnt bring their own amps along and john was furious bc he said the american amps are shit and kit was like “no” and john didnt talk to him for the whole festival until their perfomance was over and they had sounded like shit to tell kit “I TOLD YOU SO” thats how extra he was

when he got money he would spend it bc he was so used to being poor that he thought it wouldnt last long and he had to enjoy it NOW

he was always calm and everyone respected him and kit told a story where he entered the room and roger was at keiths throat and and pete was screaming something and john was sitting in the corner cleaning his nails. thats who energy

liked to dance at parties

his fav drink was rémy cognac with 40% and he would drink like 1 bottle alone everyday in his later years...wow dude

he was also gentlemanTM and once paid taxis for girls from london to brighton after a party

once at a wedding the free drinks were out and John just gave the barkeeper his creditcard and said he will pay for all the drinks of the night for everyone (it wasnt his wedding)

Roger once said: “John made smartass comments that deserved a punch in the face” sounds like him yes

he didnt really care about money and always wanted to pay and never told anyone how much things had cost and brought gifts for everyone

soon that ended in a shopping addiction tho and he bought ridiculous things for ridiculous amounts of money

when the who was inactive he sank into depression :(

held the band together during who by numbers & who are you

wrote and played all the quadrophenia horn parts himself

never lost his passion for art and always drawed alot, said Alison

cried when Christopher was born aww

once he saw their manager in an art museum and how he wanted to buy a painting but couldnt afford it, so John bought it secretly and shipped it to said managers home as a gift

We all know John was a huge collector. His most treasured collection was .. wait for it: teapots.

he tried to save Keith from being arrested once and ended up being arrested too lol

wanted to write a scifi concept album but desorted the idea and gave some songs to the who (905) or Pete

was a good cook apparently

with cocaine he felt really confident and still like the 60s/70s rockstar he once was but he didnt understand that these times were over and he needed to move on

sometimes went into random pubs with friends and made jam sessions for the guests

he still was generous and loving until he died and tried to play with other bands but it was not the same

he really liked Kenney and hung out with him more than with his wife at some point lmao

was a total giver and people who worked at quarwood would steal money from him but when someone pointed that out he got angry with that person for even suggesting that

was a real softieee (and a huge nerd)

all his friends said that he was shy at first but once you got to know him he would come totally out of himself, was very funny, loved to tell stories, was very very loyal and would try evertyhing to make you laugh aww

all in all a glorious story with a sad ending and he did destroy himself completely, but lets remember that Pete Townshend described old John still as "wonderful, mature and elegant” so lets cling on to that :)

I love this album! All of the songs are bops, and the packaging is so cute! So the way this is gonna work is I’m gonna give a number ranking to the songs, rank then in order from my favorite to least favorite, talk about the physical albums, give my final thoughts, and then do an overall ranking 🙈✨

How you like that~10/10

So the first time I heard this so I instantly fell in love with it. I don’t care what anybody says, this song is a fucking bop.

Ice cream~10/10

I think the first time I heard it I liked it but it wasn’t an “I LOVE THIS SONG” as soon as I heard it. Buuuuuut, the more I heard it the more it grew on me and now I really really love this song. It makes me super happy to listen to and makes my mood rise whenever I hear it.

Pretty savage~ 10000/10

Pretty Savage is that bitch and you’re lying to yourself if you say you hate this song. The beat, the vocals, the raps 🙈✨ Oh and then when Jennie is like “saaaaavvvvvaaaagggggeeeee” and Jisoo saying “you better run run run” 🥵 Rosé saying “pretty girl” and everytime Lisa says “all my diamonds blah blah” oh my god. This song is my sexuality now.

Bet you wanna~8/10

So I had a lot of hopes for this song because of Cardi B but it kind of fell through. To clarify I really do like this song, when it comes on I don’t skip it because I still enjoy it but it isn’t my favorite off the album. Rosé’s vocals saved this song and it shows lmao. Like I said, still like the song but it’s not my favorite.

Lovesick girls~1000/10

Okay so when I first heard this I thought it was super cute and I liked it but it was just 🤷‍♀️ for me. But for some reason I just kept rewatching the MV (I don’t stream cause I ain’t got time for all that) and I would replay it everytime it came on. There are lyrics that really hit home. To be specific: “we were born to be alone but why we still looking for love” , “Everyone eventually leaves, I’ve become numb to crying, Hurt over and over again”. There were more but those are the ones that stuck out to me the most. I feel like this song applies a lot to things and relationships (like friendships and other relationships) I’ve had or have so it just hits a little different. Of course there also is Jennie’s iconic rap and then the MV! Lisa’s jacket that has flashing lights hits different, Rosé with pink hair in the bathtub, Jisoo in water 😭😭 Oh my god I can’t! I really love this song and music video.

Crazy over you~ 10000/10

Once again, this song is that bitch. It’s the beat for me and when they say “sound the alarm”, “I’m crazy over you” oh gosh it’s perfect 🥴😭 And the vocals right before the “I am crazy over you”!!!!! Don’t even get me started on Rosé and Jisoo 😭 JeSuS this song lives in my head rent free. I LOVE this song. The way I walk around the house just repeating “I am crazy over you” and dance is embarrassing. That song makes me feel like a bad bitch for some reason. Everything about it is perfect. Pretty Savage was my fafavorite song but I think this has replaced it honestly. I could go on and on as to why this song is THAT song but I’ll save y’all the headache lmao.

Love to hate me~9/10

So I don’t hate this song but it was pretty forgettable for me. The first time I heard it, it was my least favorite. It’s not that I hate it because it’s constantly stuck in my head but it just doesn’t stick out to me as much as the other songs do. However, this song hits a little different. Like the lyrics 🙈✨ Oh and I really love the part where they’re lowkey whispering. Like the “wake up, yeah, make up, maybe” that part and then Lisa’s rap....those parts hit a little different. So yeah, not my favorite but still a good song.

You never know~ 1000/10

This was the perfect way to end the album. A softer song that has that raw emotion...absolutely beautiful. This song really really hits home. A lot of people think I’m this perfect person because I’m pretty smart, I have good friends, I get the leads in the plays and musicals, im nice to everyone, I go to an art school and it basically just seems like im thriving but the truth is I do be struggling. I have a lot of hardships I’ve had to overcome and that I’m still overcoming yet a lot of people don’t know that. I’ve gone through a lot to be where I am today and people like to think I have this perfect life because that’s the front I put up. So this song just hits a little different. When Jennie sings the chorus that really hit different because it just made me think of how much hate and bullshit she has to go through. Obviously I also thought about all the hate every single one of them has to put up with. We think their lives are perfect yet we’ll never truly know how much they struggle unless we’re in their shoes. This song is so beautiful and the vocals just....wow. Idk what it is about how Jisoo starts the song but there is something so pretty about how she sings. Anyway, love this song so much. I saw some people say this was forgettable but I completely disagree. The lyrics hit different. Even if you haven’t gone through what the girls are singing about, you’ve experienced someone who has and I feel like thinking about that person while listening to the song just makes your heart hurt a little. Idk, this song is so perfect to me.

Physical Album Thoughts~

So, the physical album is super cute! So for version 3 I had the impression that it was going to have a smoky look but it ended up just being shinny so that was lowkey weird lmao. I got version 2 because pink is my favorite color but I almost got the 3rd version (version 4 was sold out when I went to preorder) so I’m glad I got the 2nd version. I love the cover of the photo book, it’s so beautiful and it was a nice little surprise that the picture changes. All of the pictures in each of the photo books are so so cute! The girls look absolutely stunning. I personally perfer their past photo books only because I’m a sucker for the concept photos and seeing pics from the music video buuut like I said all of the pictures are beautiful and I’m so happy with the quality and how many pictures are in the photo book. The only other problem I had with the photo book is I wish they did it like the past ones where all of the pink versions had color with the black stuck to the darker gray, white, and black themes. Version 2 is kind of like both of the black versions but still, the pictures are great so I cant complain at all! Love the postcards and they feel very smooth. Great pictures, could look at them all day. Love the size of the poster, very cute! I saw pictures of the group PCs and I wish they were different cause they kind of looked the same but maybe they look different in person. The sticker is so cute, love the black and white picture you get, and I LOVE the random postcards and random photo cards. Overall, you get a lot and I’m in love with the packaging. Some little things that bothered me but the quality was great so I can’t complain 🤷‍♀️

Final thoughts~

Everything about this album is perfect. There are no songs that I hate or dislike. None that I skip and none I wouldn’t listen to by itself. I disagree with people saying pretty savsavage should have been the title track instead of lovesick girls. We got the black with how you like that, we got the pink with ice cream, and lovesick girls was a mix of the two. Obviously that song meant something to the girls since Jisoo and Jennie wrote some of the lyrics and helped produce it. I think people would have complained if Pretty Savage was the title track because they always want the girls to do “something different” and lovesick girls was something different. At first I was a little sad by the fact that there were only 8 songs but honestly I’d rather have quality over quantity. Each song felt like they spent a lot of time on it and if there were more songs I feel like there would have been some filler songs so the quality wouldn’t have been as good as it is now. Like I said, packaging was cute and you get a lot. The issues I had are more personal issues and they don’t really bother me all that much so the positives out way the negatives by a LOT!

Overall ranking:

she meets harry and they already knew eachother from when they were kids in Neverland. They've always hated each other because they were supposed to be mortal enemies. And this takes place in decedent's 3? And also the reader is really badass

you were born and raised on neverland, the daughter of peter pan and Moira, your mother the granddaughter of wendy darling.

You had two older siblings, who weren’t neverland born, Maggie and Jack, who had grown up.

You were only 4 when you met..him.

You wandered the beaches of neverland, fawns bell-like voice twittering behind you chatting about the new baby squirrels that were born yesterday. When you heard footsteps approaching, you panicked, they didn’t sound like any footsteps you new, these were heavy but quick at the same time, and fast.

You turned and flew up a tree, watching the ground, when a boy, no older than you ran onto the beach, he kept looking behind him, as if something was following him

“BOY GET BACK HERE” you gasped, fawn cupping her hands to her mouth. Hook, Hook was after this boy, the boy looked around wildly, fear clear on his face. You made a split decision.

You jumped down from the tree, fawn flying after you, “Hey!” you whisper yelled, the boy jumped, turning to look at you, surprised ocean blue eyes met your (e/c) ones, and you waved him to you, he glanced back to where hook was calling angerly for him and rushed over to your hiding spot, you grabbed his hand, leading him to a hollowed tree, and shoved him in, fawn following him in and you climbed in, bringing up the leaf cover, pressing your back to the trunk.

Heavy footsteps.

“BOY” the ocean eyed boy jumped, his hand coming up to grip your shoulder tightly, his eyes filling with tears “WHERE ARE YOU, COME OUT NOW” a few moments of tense silence, before hook grumbled, muttering how the boy would regret running off later.

The footsteps walked away, but none of you moved till fawn flew out, seeing no pirate and called for you to come out, the boy asking what the bell was, but you ignored him, leading him back out.

“umm” the boy started nervously, a thick Scottish accent on his tongue “th-thanks” he mumbled, looking at your though his lashes.

“your welcome” you smiled at him, his cheeks turned pink, fawn giggled, the boy's eyes widened, seeing his sister stomping up behind you.

“HARRISON HOOK” your heart froze…hook? “HOW DARE YOU!?! YOU KNOW HOW DAD IS, COME ON” a girl with curly black hair grabbed the boys collar, freezing when she saw you.

“what-what are you doing hanging out with a pan!? Is that why you ran off?!” the boy froze when he heard your last name. shaking his head with tears in his eyes

“n-no! I didn’t know who she was!” the girl huffed, glaring at you “stay away from him pan”

And dragged the boy off, he looked back at you, mouthing ‘pan?’ to himself. You watched as the girl dragged her brother away, one thought in your head.

‘hook…dad?’

The boy was the son of captain hook, harry, his name was. And you hated him, and he seemed to return the feeling, he played pranks on you constantly, also stealing whatever he could from you, treasure, knick nacks, anything he could get his hands on.

Then he went too far, stealing your book and ripping it to pieces, a sadistic smirk on his face.

Tears dripped down your face as you watched the pages fall to the ground, it had been the last thing your great grandmother Wendy had given you before she died.

Her last work, one dedicated to you.

“n-no..” you shook your head, your voice cracking, you looked into Harrys eyes, anguish simmering in yours.

“I …i- I HATE YOU!” you screamed, turning and running to the hideout.

Only a couple days later, Auradon forces came to neverland to detain the pirates, including harry and dragged them off to the new island of the lost, a place with no magic, a place to imprison the villains.

Even with your hate for harry, you knew he and his sisters didn’t deserve to go there, they had done nothing!

You had begged the fairy queen, Clarion, to try to save them, but she was unable to do anything, though she agreed with you, Harriet, harry and CJ were innocent children, they did not deserve to be imprisoned for their father's crimes.

And it had been 13 years since then, and harry hook had been invited to Auradon prep, and you kinda reacted….harshly.

….

You might have punched him when he tried to talk to you for the first time, and he stared up at you with surprised eyes, holding his bloody nose.

“that’s for ripping my book”

You avoided him for a month, before he cornered you, ironically on the anniversary of the day you met him.

“pan-please-let me- let me talk teh yeh!!!!” he yelled, grasping your shoulders pleadingly, as you kept trying to move around him to getaway.

You huffed, leaning against the wall, glaring at him. “you have one minute” harry sighed, digging into his bag and handing you something.

Your eyes widened with tears, shaking hands talking the object out of his hands.

It…its was your book, the pages carefully put back together with care. You looked back at Harry, who was staring down at his feet, shuffling them.

“i-im sorry lass…I was an idiot, and wanted to make meh father proud…and I-I didn’t realize how much the book meant teh yeh till I saw the personal writing teh yeh…god im so so sorry (y/n)”

You saw a drop of water hit the floor, falling from the curtain of black hair covering his eyes.

“you-“ you started, your voice cracking, you cleared your throat “you kept the book…and the torn pages”

Harry nodded, “aye, I knew I couldn’t just leave them like that, so as soon as yeh started to run away in tears, I started to collect the pages, and I kept them in a bag till I could put them all back together”

You watched as harry bit his lip, obviously nervous. “im truly sorry (y/n)”

You stared at him, shock making you unable to speak, you looked down at the book, tears dripping onto he covers, you opened it, and the first thing you saw was your granny Wendys writing

Some of the words were separated with a thin line, from the tear, but were somehow put back together so carefully, it didn’t seem like it had been torn at all.

You laughed softly, looking back up at harry.

“maybe your not so bad at all?”

Did you hate harry hook? You used to, but…now you saw the boy you saved from his father, the one with the ocean blue eyes.

Slowly but surely, the two of you had become friends

He laughed at the stupidest things, like a bird that was high up and the wind ruffling its feathers. You had facepalmed at that.

And he had a stupid easy time at making you laugh, only needing to look at you and make a weird face to do so.

People were weirded out, the daughter of Pan and the son of Hook being friends!?! It was anarchy, it doesn’t make sense! You two were supposed to hate each other!

They didn’t like the way you two constantly talked, they didn’t like the way you two leaned into each other, they didn’t like the way you two bantered with each other like old friends, they didn’t like the fact that you two were friends at all.

No not at all.

people started to separate you from each other, inviting you to things where harry wouldn’t be present when you would go to sit with harry for meals they would grab you and make you sit with them.

They made the teachers of your shared class separate the two of you, with the reasoning of ‘they distract each other, their grades are going to slip’

And honestly? You were REALLY missing harry, like really bad, you were having dreams about him, doodling him on every piece of paper you could get your hands on, daydreaming of him.

YOOOOO V!!!!! howdy!!! kinda crazy that you wanna hear me keep yelling about things but i am SO not complaining (honestly my beta is so tired of hearing me talk about these things lmfao). not to mention i love this specific ask post so im like, salivating. i’m assuming the same ask since i havent reblogged a numbered ask game list yet? and im also going to assume that i should just go in deeper about 8 and 9 since i answered that one already but hey, no problem i got a lot to say about dialogue.

1. What’s something you’ve written that you know is OOC and you just don’t care?

first though, i wanna talk about ryuji (story of my life). i like to write him as someone who’s actually really smart when it comes to people, and he knows how to work with them. i like to write him as someone who’s sensitive who has extremely high E.Q.

cool, and now it’s sumire time.

look. writing sumire, you have to make her at least somewhat ooc because she ain’t got much going on in canon!!!! if i write her exactly as she is in canon it would be like speaking to a cardboard cutout--you’re not gonna get much out of it. she’s written too blandly for her to be interesting, but she has these tiny aspects ingame where she’s actually quite complex. she’s selfish, actually. she’s an outsider, even in the third-semester. i think she’s quite conniving, and she’s not as naive about the world as people might think she is. but all of these are just hints and the game doesn’t do anything with it!!!! i have my problems with sumire (a lot of them) but she truly doesn’t deserve the hate she gets--she doesn’t deserve hate, she deserves criticism. that’s why ive been writing her quite a bit lately, i wanna breathe live to her in a way atlus didn’t.

2. What’s the most overrated thing you’ve written?

ugh. it absolutely has to be this fic called “Visiting” i wrote for the marvel fandom. i won’t link it because i think its really cringey and self-indulgent, but it’s on my ao3. it got pretty big for some reason, but it’s so...blegh!!!! i hate remembering i what i wrote in it!!!! another one is probably my fic called ergo, eraserhead which i will link because im quite proud of it still. on the flip side, i dont think any of my persona 5 fics will ever get as big as these two fics, and i’m so relieved by that.

4.Something a commenter did point out that you wish they hadn’t.

oof...someone pointed out a flaw in the plot. not technically mean or anything, like they were quite nice about it, but i remember being devastated. i was on the skytrain platform when it happened and i was just so sad for no reason lmfao

8.Something you love to see in dialogue.

hmmmmmmm i love to see interesting dialogue. very vague, i know. i like it when the author has obviously taken time to think about the dialogue, maybe even going as far as to say it out loud to make sure that the flow is smooth. i like dialogue that does more than one thing--instead of having boring dialogue that’s obviously just there to ensure that the viewer can understand the plot (i’m looking at you, star wars prequel trilogy), it also serves to help the viewer understand who these people are and what their dynamic is with their group. dialogue is really really hard to write, and that’s why good dialogue is something that should absolutely be praised.

9. What’s your fandom’s most overused trope?

alright if you want me to bring up soft!goro i guess i’ll do it (sike ive always wanted an excuse to yell about fandom akechi). obvious disclaimer: yes i know fandom is the space where people are allowed to interpret what they want with whatever character they choose, but this is my overly long persona 5 post, and if i’m asked to complain i’m going to complain.

i talked more about it in this post, but i’ll say the gist: every character has a fundamental value that i believe you should never compromise on, because if you change it or get rid of that value, you are no longer writing that character. you’re allowed to change whatever else, but that value should not be changed. an example is akira’s love for his friends: you change that, you’re not writing akira anymore. you change haru’s motivation for kindness in the face of adversity, that ain’t haru anymore. but these are just my examples--different authors can have different fundamental values for different characters.

so back on soft!goro, my fundamental value for akechi is his cynicism. he will always always assume the worst in the world, even if he’s finally moved on from what happened to him. even if he finds people to love who love him back, even if he escaped to another country where knows his name and he doesn’t have to hold up any appearances anymore, i believe that that cycnism will always be a a part of him, for better or for worse. so soft!goro is an interesting concept, because it reminds me something very specific: it reminds of the end of p5r bad ending where the bad reality prevails and akechi turns into someone unrecognizable. because...that’s what soft!goro is.

soft!goro is akechi without the cycnicism--you take that cycnicism away, and you’re not writing akechi anymore. you’re just writing some random guy at this point. and no, it’s not because i don’t want him to be happy--if anything, i have so many ideas of a grown up akesumi fic that i’d love to write. no, it’s because i think even in the far future, he will still have this core belief. it’s an unshakeable fact about akechi. it’s what made him turn into who he is, it’s what led him to commit attrocities, it’s the reason why he died. that cycnicism is engraved in akechi, no matter therapy he may get, or whatever love interest he has, you can’t get rid of that pessimistic outlook that he has.

of course, there’s exceptions to every rule. for example, i have an idea of wriitng an akesumi fic post akechi’s first therapy session. but i’m just saying that as an overall factor: to get rid of akechi, is to murder this complex character for someone generic.

4. favourite musicians/bands: God this answer is like always changing lmao. And my music taste is all over the place, as you’re about to see. I’ve always loved The Offspring, Daughtry, Tim McGraw, INXS, The Black Keys, Hans Zimmer, and a few others. Recently, I’ve been really into everything from Zayde Wolf, Vo Williams, Lizzo, The Score, The Midnight, THEY., and composers like Ludwig Goransson, Bear McCreary, Henry Jackman, etc. I like a lot of stuff lol

19. random fact: I cannot ride a bike. Yes, you read that correctly. And I’ve broken my right ankle once, and twisted it at least 6 times (I stopped counting after about 5, but I think it’s 6 or 7 in total). Twisted my left one 4 times I think. I have BAD ankles.

Ok. So what do you think of the latest chapters of fairy tail 100 years quests? What what's happening to characters? I think you're so possed that you even stopped reading more

Hoo boy... *Cracks knuckles* We may be here for a while.

So before I start, let me make clear that I actually keep up with 100YQ, though not for any actual interest anymore. I now stay with it for ironic enjoyment. Because I could say EZ has dumb stuff, but at this point, if you’re Hiro Mashima’s main audience, its fine. No, 100YQ is unique in that it has WTF moments that transcend just the FT fandom sensibilities.

Before I dig in, I’m gonna lay out some formatting rules because we’re cover A LOT. Im gonna be fair and split this up into positive and negative aspects of the series. Because I at least try to be intellectually in what I do.

To avoid from going on tangents and jumping around, I’m gonna be going in chronological order of events. Now this will not be an overview of the series up to this point because that’s stuff I’ve already talked about. Instead I’m gonna start from the point this went from genuine interest to ironic interest. That begin the Whited Out FT Guild.

Positives:

The concept of the wood dragon god having a kingdom on his back is really cool world building. Its actually something that I really liked about the Sea Dragon God as well. Having a realm reliant on the dragon as well as a reason to revere them. What with the water dragon god controlling the tides while wood dragon god is the supporting the city on his back actually makes them seem like god figures and adds to the lore of the world of Earthland in a way that Ishgar and Alvarez sorely failed at.

Laxus punching out Kyria. Petty yes, as Kyria is my least favorite dragon slayer. However a lot of Whited out FT mages were getting jobbered like crazy or just given unceremonious defeats. So Laxus actually seeming like an obstacle was good.

The cat twist with Touka is actually a funny bit of trolling and was one of the few times there was effective foreshadowing with Touka having a tail. (Too bad it was suck in the meandering Gajeel plot.)

The Dragon Eater guild is a much better final villain army than Spriggan 12. The 12 had little structure as to who was the stronger members, resulting in multiple Spriggans feeling like such major disappointments.

Most Mashima Villain organizations tend to broken up like this: Boss->Special Units (I.E Spriggan 12, Nine Demon Gates, Element 4)->Fodder Units.

No one cares when the fodder of a villain group is beaten as they’re just faceless minions. However, when you get to the special unit, that’s wheen there are actual obstacles and the villains start becoming more like characters. However, Hiro has been bad at this when he’s dealing with bigger organizations.

He never had to worry about telling you which member of the villain group’s special unit were more powerful than the others. Due to working with units composed of low amounts of characters, such as Team Lyon, Element 4, and Death’s Head.

You could say that all were roughly around the same power threshold. However, where the spriggan 12 royally failed was there were 12 of them in that unit and they were all just given the blanket term of being on the same level of the number 1 wizard saint. Yeah... that’s a check so large that Hiro could not cash it.

Hiro even seemed to retroactively acknowledge this by stating that August, Irene, and Larcarde were the three best to cover his ass for the fact that all the spriggans seemed to be jobbered far easier than ones supposedly equal to the number 1 saint.

However, the Dragon Eaters are opponents we’re gradually introduced to over the storyline and we actually see a demonstration of what a group of them can do, instead of 1 just trying take on all of team Natsu at once. We see that Skullion’s team is roughly equal to Team Natsu, giving us a gauge for the Dragon Eater strength, but then we get both Wraith and Nebal, underlings not part of Skullion’s thre man team, implying that are of a weaker variety and thus serving as a stepping stone to fight Skullion. But also introducing us to the Black Dragon Slayer Cavalry. Members above Skullion’s team that give us an idea if when they show up what the audience should expect of their strength level.

There’s a reason why in One Piece why Yonkou opperations have so many categories. You’re not gonna care about the minor thugs, but by making a distinction between the Headliners and the Disasters in Kaidou’s crew, you’ve made it so that we the audience will not feel disappointed if a Headliner is beat by a weaker character like say Usopp but still know that they are more than a foot soldier so this win meant something.

Now time for the negatives:

The concept of White Out is not awful, and is actually a fairly interesting concept for a villain motivation in FT. However, the White Witch is one of the most transparently evil characters in the series, thus you know that she’s doing this morally ambiguous action because she’s evil. Imagine if this were about humans or royals who feared the growing power of mages. Or a disillusioned mage with the concept of people like Zeref or the GMG, where is seems like magic is endless and how that’s a threat to the world. No, White Witch really seems like she wants to be this grand manipulator and actively enjoys calling heer whited out people, puppets.

However, there’s also the fact the whiting out doesn’t make too much sense. Some characters seem like mind controlled puppets like Juvia, while others are basically the same except their evil now like Gajeel, Mira, Elfman, Laxus. And some are dumb jokes like Jellal.

So there’s no consistency to this brainwashing. Only other time I’ve seen a mind control plot like that in media before is Yugioh GX. Sometimes people act like they’ve been brainwashed into something different like Alexis. But then people like Bastion and a lot of the gag members of the society like Rose and Bob act as if they’re not affected by anything.

Yeah, this white witch plot feels distractedly ripped off from the society of Light from Yugioh GX.

The concept of Team Natsu vs FT in the vain of the fighting festival arc is dumb narratively from two standpoints. First from a story standpoint in the idea that why the battle of FT arc was opportunity, due to the fact they were all willing to fight to free the frozen girls. Which allowed for others to show shades to their motivations Like Alzack willing to mow through his other comrades for Bisca or Thunder God Tribe assisting in protecting Laxus so he’s the last man standing. There’s a tangible reward on th line that motivates the characters to act as do.

Here, the characters are clearly fighting against their will because of an intangible force. This white magic makes them slaves and are fighting because “white doctrine.” Something they only believeebecause brainwashing. As such, you want to see Natsu and gang beat them up to stop the white witch and free them. There’s no force or intrigue that makes the audience care about both sides like seeing Alzack vs Jet and Droy because you know they both want to save their partners but only one can. Instead people only care because a surface level of “friend turned evil” device. It takes the B and C list cast of the FT guild and makes them props.

And from a meta standpoint, there is no tension, due to the fact this is a post final battle with acnologia Team Natsu. The team is bounds ahead of so many guild members like Macao, Reedus, Max etc. that the only real threat is the S class mages. So that makes that big page spread of evil FT in cult robes dull as only like 3 of them are gonna actually matter.

Then there’s Wraith. Nebal was a boring an generic crazy guy is unimpressive, Wriath was actually really interesting at first. Is ghost magic allowed for an interesting fight and his possession actually having limitations on how effective it was made for a cool skill.

But then the reveal about him and Makarov. I eye-rolled at that point, but then I saw the previews and was like, maybe this’ll be the best thing to come out of this series. Everyone wants to know more about past FT around team Makarov’s time.

But all the potential of young Makarov and young Porylusica and the rest of their team is put on fast forward as they’re all suddenly thinking about leaving. But maybe the reveal with Wraith could be interesting. I saw a lot of good theories like Wraith was Makarov’s half brother or Wraith was the son of Makarov and Porylusica who was killed by Ivan.

Well... Any theory would’ve been better than Wraith was some random ass mage and when they say he a Makarov are related its because the bonds of FT that is real family and transcends death itself.

...Gag me...

And and Wraith just fucks off into the afterlife. Because we can’t actually end a fight because of the protagonist’s ingenuity. No, the villain just kills themselves because feels. Isn’t that right August and Irene?

In conclusion

That’s my thoughts as briefly and coherent as I could make them. So if you wanna know my feelings on 100YQ, it can basically be summed in FT being FT. If you expected more, you’re gonna be disappointed. But if you genuinely love the world and character regardless of Hiro’s writing, you’ll probably still enjoy it regardless of what I’m saying
