“Mecha Knuckles and I share a room,” Mecha Sonic said, “We split it down the middle, so each of us have a side to ourselves. You can tell whose side is who’s.”

“Yeah, ‘c-c-cause yours is fu-u-ull of p-p-plants,” Mecha Knuckles quipped

“And yours is full of trash and stuff left on the floor,” Mecha Sonic retorted.

“You tr-tr-tr-try and pick-k-k up t-trash with a-a-a mac-c-ce!!!” Mecha Knuckles shouted

“QUITE FRANKLY, I DO NOT VISIT MY ROOM VERY OFTEN,” Sigma admitted, “I AM MORE COMMONLY FOUND IN THE MACHINE SHOP. MY ROOM IS TRULY JUST A SECOND, PERSONAL, MINI MACHINE SHOP. PARTS ARE STREWN EVERYWHERE AND I HAVE PLENTY OF TOOLS AND WORKBENCHES STORED IN THERE. SPARES, OF COURSE. I WOULDN’T DARE TAKE WHAT THE MAIN SHOP WOULD NOT WANT ME TO.”

“We’ve got a bunk for me and Benny,” Rancheros said, “Florey has her own bed next to ours.”

“We’re still kinda in the middle of decorating our place,” Benedict said, scratching the back of his head, “We’ve got some posters on the wall, but not much else.”

“Got a hat rack too,” Florentine added, “And some shelves we’re gonna store all the games we’re gonna start collecting.”

IDW Sonic Showdown 2023: Version 2 - Pause Game Edition

In this version of the tournament, only the characters created for the IDW Sonic Comics will be included in the line-up. The above image is what we'll be using for the brackets if there are no objections to this line-up. Should all go to plan, Round One will be posted on Sunday 2nd April

A few of notes about this line-up:

There are 32 IDW Exclusive characters in the line-up. While this doesn't include absolutely everyone, I did try to include the majority of named characters

There is one currently unnamed character, "Chief Mechanic", because he had a somewhat prominent speaking role in a scene with Belle (if any IDW officials somehow manage to see this and want to Word of God me his name, that would be very welcome :D)

This time around, not every Scrapnik has been included, but I did include Sigma, the trio of Egg-Robos and most of the Scrapniks who did well in the first tournament, like Nevin and Carina

I thought about it a lot, but decided not to include Mecha Sonic or Mecha Knuckles, as they feel more directly based on their game counterparts than most of the other Scrapniks. I'm sorry if this is upsetting for some :( Please do speak up if you really, really want them to be included, but I would need to take out two other characters to fit them in or do a couple of threeway polls (which would probably be against other Scrapniks)

Mecha Sonic, nay, the entirety of the Scrapniks, could really use some support from Belle. After all, she did say she can’t abandon a robot in need. 

I would also really like to see the Scrapniks return as supporting characters in the main story, seeing as we don’t get many good badnik characters nowadays.

If that were to happen, maybe we’d get to see Metal and Mecha actually meet. 

 Along with Belle’s interactions with E-117 Sigma, or the Eggrobo Triplets (Florentine, Benedict, and Rancheros). I just feel like they’d all get along very well.

Can we have a building competition for all the egg robos for who is the best robo helper with tail, belle and grease as the judges

Benedict stood aside, and presented his...well, it looked like a pile of junk to the judges.

"What is this, exactly?" Tails asked.

"It's a weight!" Benedict said proudly, "You place something on the plate in the center, and the bar on the left lifts up and tells you how heavy it is!"

He demonstrated by placing a wrench in the center of the contraption. The plate lowered, and it pulled down the metal sheets holding it from above. As advertised, a piece of sheet metal raised when the rest of the weight went down.

Now that they understood it, Tails, Belle, and Grease clapped, very impressed. They then moved on too Rancheros, who held his hands behind his back.

"I present to you..." he said grandly before stepping aside, "Rancher-ride!"

On his work table was a miniature, but incredibly intricate, roller coaster ride. Belle perked up when she saw it, but Grease chuckled and rolled his eyes.

"Trying to suck up to one of the judges, are we?" the orangutan accused playfully.

"Hey. Appealing to the interests of others doesn't hurt anyone," Rancheros shrugged.

"This is amazing!" Belle squealed.

"But it's just a toy in comparison to the actual tool Benedict made," Tails said, "A cool one, yes, but nothing practical."

"Well, let's see what the last Egg..."

Grease trailed off as he, Tails, Belle, and the other Egg Robos gazed up at the huge windmill suddenly in the Machine Shop. At the base of the structure, Florentine twirled a wrench in her hand.

"How's this for practical?" she asked.

The three judges exchanged glances and nodded.

"You win," they said in unison.

"Aw, what?!" Rancheros whinged.

"Heh. Easy," Florentine chuckled.

"Yeah, he's a hoe alright!" Rancheros leaned in.

"Go away!" Benedict fussed.

Belle. Random question. How much duct tape do you think would support your weight…

"Don't duct tape me to the wall..." Belle cringed.

She was then suddenly ensnared by an arm made up of spheres.

"I'm going-g-g-g to duct-t-t-t tape y-y-y-you to the wall," Mecha Knuckles informed.

"What?! No!" Belle screamed, trying to get out of his grip.

As she struggled, she passed by Mecha Sonic and the Egg Robos working on some machinery.

"Mecha! Help!" Belle cried, "Please."

Mecha Sonic and the Egg Robos turned and looked at Mecha Knuckles holding Belle. Rancheros then slowly lifted up a roll of duct tape.

"We are going to duct tape you to the wall," Mecha Sonic announced, approaching Belle.

"NOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Hours later, Grease and Sigma stared up in mild fury and pure terror respectively as Belle tried, and failed, to get unstuck from the top of the Machine Shop's wall.

I feel the need to specify this because if I don't I'll feel bad, SO!!!

I like to answer questions as fast as I can, or if I have a fun idea come to mind, so if I seem to never answer some of your questions just know that it is either because:

There are so freaking many in my inbox and I can't get to all of them quickly. It's kinda overwhelming but also so damn awesome

You ask about something that will inavertedly be a direct spoiler for something in the future of the AU

You're asking a character not in the AU yet, you silly goose

Or if it's weird for my tastes, which is actually the most rare, but I felt remised if I didn't specify it again
