Episode 9: Usagi's Misfortune! Watch Out for the Rushing Clocks / Time Bomb
It's nice to see Usagi and Ami have a lot of fun together, considering they're practically opposites. I didn't screenshot their fun cause I'm lazy, but I did take a couple pictures of the neat looking clocks:

It's just a shame that they're all a trap to drain all your energy.

Oh no.

This can't be good.

This is how I feel sometimes when I try to plan out my time so that I can spend it doing other things besides waste time on the internet. Usually it's late in the day.

Obvious bullshit is obvious.

Now for some gratuitous but familiar English.

Funnily enough, once Sailors Moon and Mercury defeat the youma of the day, that's around when the audio goes out of sync. Or maybe it's the video?
But anyway, some ramblings about the dub...
"I'm late for my snail-watching club, and I'm the only member!" Oh, Melvin. Well, at least it's nice to have hobbies.
They cut out the scene where Ramua scratches Sailor Moon's cheek with her scythe. Are Americans really afraid of even just a little blood?
They even cut out the scene where Moon keeps dodging Ramua's weapon. Why?

Toonami Rewind Weekly Recap 07/19/2024
Sailor Moon EP#08 - The Girl Genius is a Monster: The Brainwashing Cram School of Horror: Luna senses a strange aura around Usagi's genius classmate, Ami Mizuno, and thinks she might be a Dark Kingdom spy. Ami Mizuno is a very intelligent, reserved girl who is often seen alone at school. With the conviction that she help her to be more intelligent, Usagi befriends the girl and invites her to the game center. Ami leaves a floppy disk in the game center, Luna and Usagi realize it's an artifact from the Dark Kingdom and mistake her for an enemy. But she understands later that Ami Mizuno is Sailor Mercury, a Sailor Guardian as Sailor Moon, and their duties are the same.
Sailor Moon EP#09 - Usagi's Disaster: Beware of the Clock of Confusion: Jadeite's new plan is to make humans work harder to increase their energy output with the help of Ramua, a monster that can manipulate time. Usagi's mom buys a new clock for her that drains her energy; Ami, now awakened as Sailor Mercury, helps Luna investigate. When Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury meet they confront Ramua and Tuxedo Mask helps them defeat her by undoing the time spell with a rose.

When the Season 2 update launched, the Town Portal building (along with many other shop buildings) was scrapped, and the Town Portal system was simply made available outside, so now this sprite of Ramua and this BGM are unused.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
S01EP09
Name: Ramua
Alignment: Dark Kingdom (Negaverse)
Master: Jadeite
So Jadeite decides to change things up a bit with his youma's but this episode did a really poor job as to what change he made exactly. None the less, this episode made me feel like I took a bunch of adderall because of the way the youma was stealing(?) energy. Which was by making everyone feel like they were in a rush or late to something and I gotta hand it to them, it was well done. Why? Well because shit, I felt rushed myself (but to what? Nothing in particular). I also couldn't figure out if they rushed Sailor Moon's transformation sequence either. I want to yes but don't quote me on it.
So the premise of this episode is some clock store is having a mega sale on clocks, people bring the clocks home, and while they are asleep it (I really want to say steal but it's not stealing) but it does something to the people who are still asleep, and they end up waking up early and then run around town like a bunch of dickwad chickens that got their head cut off.
This is also the third episode now where a youma targets it's victims by having a super ultra mega sale. When will the people learn to not trust those kinds of sales? Oh wait, they won't because as soon as the episodes over, it's never talked about again.
Let me introduce to you our youma in her human form:
Hello, welcome to clock store. As you can see, these clocks are so shitty, that even I'm not wearing one of our shitty products. So please, take a look around at our shit clocks.
I don't know about ya'll but uh... if I were to ever a wear dress like that to any of the jobs I had in the past, I think they'd send me home. I mean I know sex sells but COME ON!
I don't blame her though, I mean the people of Tokyo are just blinded by such a good sale that they don't even give a shit that there's no one around to help them except for one sales associate, and that one sales associate is showing off her legs like no tomorrow. She blinded me with a good sale?
What affect this youma had on Tokyo though was pretty huge. I mean to the point that I'm SURE people were killed during this bitches monstrosity.
Oh what the fuck. This shit is bad, surely someone died.
They then throw this civilian at us who walks away from that 14 car pile up with this shit:
I wonder if the Dark Kingdom realizes that they're going after the strongest (albeit stupidest) people in the world?
Once the show down starts though, I like that it all took place in some other dimension.
OH I KNOW! A SALVADOR DALI INSPIRED....place?
