The air was too warm and the sun was too bright today and I found myself thinking of historical hetalia playlists again.

I'd focus on the countries I know the most about music-wise, basically the FACE family. I think I'd do an amazing England playlist. English folklore and early history immensely fascinates me. I'd do alright with Canada and France, but I worry about becoming too cynical making a playlist about the US.

But.

rammstein playing on the wii, because i can't wait to order one off cex:

(disclaimer: this is all for fun, and my own opinion on how the rammboys would act in this situation :3)

till: typical grandpa that calls the wii every name under the sun, except it's actual name. really good at swordplay and table tennis in wii sports resort. tries to play the game properly, eventually starts waggling the wiimote when paul does. will inevitably let the wiimote slip out of his hands, smashing the tv. silly opa. likes to watch flake play zelda when it's just the two of them.

richard: in it to win it. weirdly enough always wants to be player 2 because they're usually red. while everyone squabbles over being player 1, he's poised ready to connect as player 2. spends time in the mii channel making his mii. likes bowling most of all. he keeps trying to get the switch in the 100 pin game in wii sports resort. also enjoys wii party. low-key wants to get one for his own place.

paul: just as competitive as richard. made his mii really tall (till went back and made him really short when he left and is not bothered to change it even if he did pout after seeing it). likes swordplay and bowling. like till he tries to play properly but after 4 rounds of losing he resorts to violence (waggling the wiimote until his hand almost sprains)

flake: owns the wii, he got it for a really good price. not exactly his prized possession but is still a lot of fun. somehow he managed to homebrew it and someone taught him how to get games on it (ahem... yar har fiddle dee dee) so he brings his wii and hard drive with him when the band gets together. he likes bowling and archery in wii sports resort and likes wii fit plus because he gets good scores in yoga being (presumably) flexible. doesn't bother too much with his mii but gives him long brown hair like he had in 2004. when the band aren't there and it's just him and till he plays the legend of zelda: skyward sword and twilight princess while till watches and it's their favourite thing to do.

olli: chill af. really good at the watersports in wii sports resort (no that's not a euphemism), actually enjoys power cruising. he also likes cycling and table tennis. surprisingly competitive in wii party. making his mii is easy for him, he just cranks the height slider up to max and the weight slider down to almost the minimum. mario kart is also a huge favourite of his. does not play funky kong on flame runner though.

schneider: having the time of his life. makes his mii with curly hair like he had during the lifad era and loves it. when he found out you could order a pizza through the wii he begged flake to add the demae channel to his wii. flake agreed. likes frisbee dog and air sports on wii sports resort, also really loves wii play and wii play motion. he gets a bit competitive with olli on mario kart but has a good time nonetheless. he's just so happy.

btw, the thing about ordering a pizza through the wii is true. at least for the us/canada atm. through a service called wiilink24 they have revived a japanese only channel called the demae channel. back before its closure in 2017, people in japan could order food from local restaurants through their wii through a service called demae-can. some very talented and amazing people on the wiilink team have since revived the channel for western audiences as well as some more old japanese only channels. in the us/canada you can only order with dominos, you used to be able to order through deliveroo in europe/pal regions, but now they're working to get it working with just eat instead. it's so cool!

so I've heard in the past that some members of the band have hinted at not being 100% straight and richard has given hints at wanting to know what it's like to be a woman, could you please give me some sources to those since I've looked everywhere and can't really find them? thank you, if not, it's totally understandable

Another really really old ask, not because i didn't want to, but because i wanted to findas much info as possible 🌺 sorry anon for taking so long..

Well, the most recent 'hint' was Flake's podcast with topic 'gay/lesbian' where he mentioned that the topic came up one evening when the band were chatting and it turned out they all had their experiences 🥰

Rammstein is imo a band who has always been very 'inclusive' in any sexual preferences, and especially in Till's lyrics you can tell he is very interested in anything out there (not that that makes him 'not straight' (to be honest, i think he is, by some other quotes in interviews 😊) but i wouldn't be surprised if he tried some stuff somewhere in life).

Richard did an 2010 interview in Canada (don't have a link to the original, just this transcript) where he was quoted (about 'Mann gegen Mann')

"Actually, Till showed the lyrics to our Gay community, to our friends, just to make sure, because if you talk about something that you not really are, it's always kind of hard. Sometimes you cross the line, you don't think about it, but it could be offensive. If you do something because it's your experience, it's fine, but if you write something and you're not actually a part of it, I think you should make sure that everything you want to say is right. So he gave the lyrics to some friends, and they were very approving."

Which sort of confirms that they don't see themselves as gay so much. Also in interviews where they were asked 'are you gay', they usually end up with 'no'... interestingly, i don't think i've seen an interview where an interviewer explicitely asked 'are you bisexual' 🌺 (by the way, i would be really surprised if Richard hadn't some experience with a guy when he was younger, i vaguely remember he alluded to such in a really old interview, but i don't have a link).

Richard indeed has expressed ideas about his feminine side several times, in the interbiew above he says for instance

"If you talk to me right now, I'm a big believer in getting myself in balance between the female and the male side. I have a female side too, obviously."

And very striking was in several interviews ca 2021 after he did the cover 'Always on my mind' with Till for the Emigrate album 'The Persistence of Memory' and then made it a duet, stating:

"I mean, obviously, Till has also this very characteristic voice. And then it was pretty fast. He recorded one day. And then I was listening to it, and I felt a little bit that his performance was a little bit too male-oriented. So I felt I need a little female touch to it. So that’s why my personality came in. And I think it’s a good combination"

So he felt a female touch was needed, and added his own voice to Till's track 🥰

Now ofcourse this could just be a Kruspe-caption 😊 but with the 'DT' video in mind and his role in it, it makes one wonder doesn't it... where is that making of when we need it 🌺😊

Intro post!

You can call me Azalea, I’m 17, and I post about a bunch of things (mostly reblogs but sshhhh)

I’m recovering from a few things (notably, issues with eating and self-yeouch but I don’t intend to be triggering ever, I am genuinely trying to get a whole lot better).

Games I like include Undertale and Deltarune, Detroit: Become Human, Final Fantasy VII (including Remake and Rebirth of course), Dredge, and Cult of the Lamb.

Films I enjoy include The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies, Scream, Hereditary, and Spider-Man: Into and Across the Spiderverse, as well as all other Spider-Man and many Marvel films.

I do some art, some poetry, stuff like that, but it’s not too great so I’ll probably never post any, but they’re interests of mine for context :)

My favourite animal is the yellow mongoose, my favourite bird is the moorhen, favourite object is the hourglass, and favourite colour is red (then pink, then purple).

My favourite band is Ghost/ Ghost B.C., though I also love Rammstein, Sleep Token, Ви-2 (Bi-2), Babymetal, and Måneskin. I am not bilingual, I just like music that makes me feel things™

I’m looking to make friends (that looked a little scary with the red, zoo wee mama) if anybody would like to be, so always feel free to DM or yap publicly about absolutely anything!! No pressure of course. I live in England, born and raised, and have never been abroad (#poor) but I’d love to go to so many places someday. Omg. Wildlife Rehabilitator. I love animals so much and I always wanted to help some poor creature that needs it. They sure will have to spend some time in captivity, but my favorite part will be releasing them to their wild lives once they get better. I can also take care of sick and orphaned animals, but I do have to be careful to not get infected with illness or if I have to take care of predatory birds, I have to make sure they don't hurt me

Ftp by MASTER BOOT RECORD -> I found this song by looking for music for my Faith: The Unholy Trilogy playlist, I don’t think I’ve come across synthesised heavy metal before so this was quite interesting. Their side project Keygen Church is also pretty good, if anything I’d recommend that over MASTER BOOT RECORD given their use of organ and sick ‘classical Baroque influence’.

White Noiz by Akira Yamaoka -> I recently was watching Gab Smolders’ playthrough of Silent Hill, so I decided to check out the franchise’s various soundtracks. It’s not my favourite song but I like the atmosphere.

Roygbiv by Boards of Canada -> I’ve been checking out IDM so obviously BoC were a staple to get into. I haven’t really connected with much of their music but this is one of the ones that I really like. I find it fascinating that the album is entirely instrumental save for some audio clips of old Sesame Street episodes sporadically scattered throughout. I’m not sure if there’s a reason why this song was titled Roygbiv, but I do think either way it fits with the aesthetic and atmosphere (as for those who don’t know Roygbiv is an acronym listing the colours of the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet).

Somebody Told Me by The Killers -> I just wanted to listen to all of Hot Fuss, but I do find it funny that I knew this song first from Måneskin’s cover of it.

Sonne by Rammstein -> Ah yes one of the songs I’ll put on while pacing for hours thinking about my blorbos and OCs. Certified vampire song.

Ladykillers by Lush -> towards the end of last year I was watching Gregg Araki’s filmography and checking out shoegaze bands which is how I got around to Lush. I wish i could look half as cool as Miki Berenyi does with bright red hair.

Little Girls by Oingo Boingo -> the JoJo brainrot is real so I decided to check out Oingo Boingo since they were referenced in the show, to be honest there’s no way I can describe their music other than it just being tasty. It’s great, I want to eat it. And it always feels very awkward having to explain how this (so far) is my favourite song by them and no it is not weird I prommy.

Halls of Illusions by Insane Clown Posse -> Nothing much to say, certified juggalo moment.

Theme of Laura by Akira Yamaoka -> once again Silent Hill brought me here, tho this is my favourite track so far from the soundtracks.

Saw your tags! I listen to a whole bunch of music in French, mostly from Canada, cause well it's what I come from. My top played French song is Dégénérations by Mes Aïeux (I tried to recreate it on My Singing Monsters once so I listened to it on repeat a lot lol.) I have one singular song in Italian on my phone, L'italiano by Toto Cutungo, and apparently I've played it a lot. And Deutschland by Rammstein was my 100th most played song! I was surprised that Spanish didn't show up in my most played cause I do have a few on my phone, but I think I've downloaded most of them recently so their play count is still lower than other songs I've had for longer.

My german song is "Rom" by Dschinghis Khan ksksksks it sounds so dramatic and epic and oh my I'm SO glad I found that one again bc hell yes it's fucking long but it also changes so much!!! And it tells about the story of Rome and the dramaaaaaa XD

Day 29 of Rammstein's Countdown to Halloween

Black Christmas (1974, dir. Bob Clark)

Plot: During the holiday break, a group of sorority girls are plagued with mysterious and grotesque phone calls while a mysterious and possibly dangerous stranger lurks the property.

I be totally in the wrong if I didn't include this amazing Canadian slasher flick in the countdown. Alongside Leatherface, Billy Lenz if one of the first slashers out there and I'm sorry but I don't think there be any Michael Myers without him. The first scene is just a prime example of that, with it being shown through the killer's eyes just like Halloween (1978) does. It also heavily inspired Leigh Whannell who co wrote Saw (2004) and let's not forget the amazing reference in Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006).

I honestly love this movie, its my top favourite from my home country of Canada and I really can't get over how the man who directed A Christmas Story (1983) which is like the polar opposite and even plays the killer himself (well, physically I should say, three men played Billy Lenz I believe for the movie, one to do the voice, the director played the one that moves around and shows body, like the picture above and one was for a close up shot, I believe) anyhow, it's honestly a really great film.

It's a head of it's time. The characters/actors were not afraid to talk or bring up harsh topics such as assault, harassment, abuse (with both substances and relationships) and even abortions are all discussed throughout the film and it's done so with such respect too which is not often something we see in those kinds of experimental films from the early 70s.

I also really like how the girls aren't helpless, they aren't paranoid right away or experienced any traumatic event before hand or what not. The are just there and really, the do everything right to protect themselves and only really let their guard around the time of their fates.

The kills are extremely creative for sure. I love them. The story is well written and I love how it's set up like a mystery as well where there a several characters through the film that could be suspected as the killer and the that at the end will just leave you in shambles, but in a good way of course!

the soundtrack to the film is golden, I really love how they used Christmas songs for most of it and make it super creepy and eerie, just love it and the casting is super star studded with Margot Kidder (From the Superman Movies) and John Saxon (Nancy's father in A Nightmare on Elm Street) it blows my mind.

The effort put into the character of Billy Lenz is my favourite I love how they offer us some backstory on him but they never reveal to much and manage to leave an illusion about him closer to the end of the film. I like how they even go as far as only showcasing the silhouette form of him, with only one eyes (normally the right which out be his left) in the spotlight. That's just excellent lighting and cinematography.

If you are looking for a film that is as entertaining as it is suspenseful then you've come to the right place with this one.
