The controversy erupted after a man was apprehended by Kejriwal’s security staff for attempting to throw a liquid at him during his padyatra in Delhi’s Greater Kailash area on Saturday. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Kejriwal of playing a “fake sympathy card,” asserting that the AAP leader is facing growing public anger due to his governance record. “There is a lot of anger among people against Arvind Kejriwal because he looted people and built a ‘Sheesh Mehal’. People of Delhi know AAP can’t seek votes based on governance, so Kejriwal is playing a fake sympathy card,” Bhandari said. BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla added that even Congress has raised questions about the timing of such incidents, noting that they often occur around elections. “Whenever there are elections in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal stages such dramas, where someone attacks him or throws ink on him.
