(Lifesteal s5 spoilers for my understanding of The Players' plans, from catching incomplete sections of streams and osmosis. I do not think this is spoilers for any of them but I am not keeping up very well, so please correct me if I am wrong and I'll edit this. It's a little bit rambly, sorry.)

So, aside from the unrequited pitchflirting, my understanding of the Players' main finale plans are that they want to remove all of the buildings and restore the server or at least the main areas to looking the way they did at the start of the server, before anyone built anything. And this has some justification about like being a fresh start to the world, aside from the fact that it's a cool dramatic thing to do, but also!

It's really neat how the thing it does is specifically making the server look as though nobody ever played on it. Because the Players' whole thing, their primary conflict with primarily Jumper and Minute (I don't think they have a team name?) is that they're the only people willing to play heel, to do cool evil dramatic shit that other people can make content by fighting against, and almost everyone else (no offense intended to Squiddo or Wemmbu but they haven't been on much lately?) is either neutral, inactive, or insistently playing face?

And in the arguments between the players and Jumper and Minute, it has come up that the opposing side wants to end the server without conflict, and the Players' argument in favor of what they're doing is that it's interesting content which creates a reason for the other players to log on and participate. (This has consistently been their motivation since early in the Abyss arc)

And I think that in addition to the other justification, restoring the world to look untouched is a pretty powerful statement of "This is what you're advocating for the world to be: one where nobody ever logs on and does anything or fights or builds things that matter."

(In the interest of fairness, I know Minute was talking about like, getting people onto the server by having temporary mods during the sessions, and Branzy does have his carnival, and I do enjoy this content, but... at least to me, the fundamental strength of Lifesteal content qua Lifesteal (Minecraft's deadliest SMP), as a reason to be watching this rather than something else-- like a modded or survival series that happens to be made by the same people-- is the social effects of a bunch of people who are mostly tryhards in a competitive environment that encourages conflict and teaming and subterfuge and paranoia and big dramatic clickbaitable gestures?)

(I do in fact think it's fun and interesting when there are some people on Lifesteal who care about morality and want to do the nice thing! This is a fun source of conflict! I just... think it's more fun when that's not the majority of people who are logging on and doing anything, because then there's the risk of them uncomplicatedly winning, or successfully preventing or mitigating or discouraging the majority of the dramatic evil/annoying stuff, and then nothing happening? Lifesteal content is primarily about conflict. It's maybe a little more fun when the people involved have in-universe justifications that are not just "it's for content", painting the fourth wall with a thin veneer of "it's because it's cool and asserts our power" or some galaxybrained self-serving philosophical/metaphorical justification explaining why this supervillain stuff is the real moral thing to do, or whatever? But it's still fun as long as people are like, logging in and doing stuff and fighting or arguing with each other, and maybe having some big feelings? and at least one person is live or making videos so we can see what's happening)

Hi there! I've been a fan of your videos and am curious to either read or hear your thoughts about Ruin in the future. ^_^

While I liked the DLC for the majority, my biggest gripe is with the Mimic and how casual fans or gamers are basically required to do homework to get a lick of understanding as to what's going on, and as a writer myself that really doesn't sit right with me. Maybe from a marketing point of view it might make sense, but from a writing point of view it just doesn't work. The plot of a game shouldn’t rely on supplementary material, rather it should be able to stand on its own. Books can expand on ideas but not be required reading.

I honestly think Baby/Scrapbaby should have been the Mimic. Not only were the Funtime animatronic specifically designed to lure and kill children, one of them also had voice-mimicking as a feature. And Baby said herself she was good at pretending, and actively manipulated the player/Michael Afton. Plus after she had been ejected from Ennard she managed to reassemble herself. It wouldn’t be that big of a stretch to imagine she implemented all of the Funtime animatronic's features into her new/recycled body. And even though it might have been retconned, since it was before the release of Sister Location, there's also that secret cutscene of a character that warned the player Baby was a dangerous creation before being killed shortly after.

And last but not least, in Ruin Baby plushies appear in a janitor closet, all laughing in unison before disappearing as you turn around.

My point is, you already have this pre-established canon character with so much potential. A character that's honestly underutilized, but has so much going for them, and in my opinion is a way better fit qua plot-relevance to be the antagonist than a random character that only appears in the most recent book series. You have the ties to previous games, foreshadowing right before the reveal, a ruthless, manipulative character that will stop at nothing to escape confinement.

I definitely agree. Having to read a bunch of extra material- and PAY for it- to get the context of a character is a big no-no. Especially since the Fnaf books have such a questionable history of material. Even in those books, the Mimic itself has been framed as two completely different characters. Sometimes it functions in one established way, other times it works in a completely different way. Likely because there's numerous ghost writers.

Plus, like you said, there's already animatronics who did Mimic's role better. Fnaf's trying to write out its history, but all it's doing is shooting itself in the foot. It can tell us, "No, no. Ennard? Didn't exist. Michael? Didn't exist. It was all created by Fazbear Entertainment, so all of the former material is discredited."

Not only is that a really stupid precedent to set- and also extremely overconfident to basically shaft the series to bring in Steel Wool's 'definitive' idea of Fnaf- but it leads to the creation of things like the Mimic. A lazy Ennard. A worse Ennard.

And one you have to pay to read the backstory of. Of course, you can read the Fourth Closet and get the same backstory too. -_-

sometimes Alfons is hungry after he gets home after his "friends". he would go to the kitchen in the middle of the night and whip up something, sometimes Victor is in there making his signature dish... they exchange a nod and maybe share some food together. according to Elbert's profile, Elbert has a habit of waking up early... maybe he'd go give Alfons some headpats 🥺🥺

Alfons isn't too picky when it comes to food. Remember, he has an iron stomach. But there are definitely foods he prefers over others. I think he'd prefer savory meats or eggs... I swear I'm not projecting here...

His food isn't too elaborate in appearance, but it tastes amazing.

He's probably tried teaching Elbert how to cook once. Elbert can make a fried egg.

Due to his iron stomach, occasionally Roger might try to make Alfons try out a serum or some sort of strange substance...

I actually feel like he doesn't like drinking alcohol that much. He'll indulge in it just for Elbert or a celebration, maybe, but most of the time he'll just have water or soup. He'd prefer to be sober, to have the most control over his life. Or maybe because it'd remind him of Roger... In some events he actually goes to bars, but it's more for his "friends" than for himself. I feel like he has a high alcohol tolerance.

Crown has servants, but perhaps sometimes Alfons would go down to the market for more personal items. Despite the money that Crown has, he has a habit of using his ability to lower the price. Or just flirting with them until he gets a discount.

I'm pretty sure this is canon but Alfons and Liam are "playmates" and more than Liam's plays 😭😭

Along with Liam, he loves seeing people do what they enjoy (fuck I need to stop comparing Alfons and William mentally) and will watch every second. He doesn't really judge.

You know how most of the Crown members have day jobs? Well... Alfons doesn't really have one. He's out all night and sleeps all day.

If Liam has a partner / best friend that has trouble defending themselves, he would have Alfons sit next to them during a play. Just for safety. Liam worries a bit too much.

Sometimes he goes to the sea with Elbert. Just standing next to him, enjoying the scenery. "Is this shell beautiful?" Maybe Alfons would end up carry some shells home. Modern-day Elbert would try to buy the whole fucking aquarium

There's barely anything in Alfons' room. Maybe a bed, some suspicious things in his drawer, and a recipe book, but that's about it. He's not usually in his room, anyway.

Modern-day, he would probably start a Twitter to make people argue, then kick back and watch as he gets canceled. He's gotten canceled, banned, and blacklisted on seventeen different sites. death threats don't faze him in the slightest.

Or maybe he's a dark comedian. He can say whatever he wants without consequence and no one cares.

He likes trying on different types of fabrics. The different sensations against the skin interest him so much.

The scribe, a mystery man in the household named Jean, was a dedicated servant; listening to François, he changed not a word. The hand that writes is practiced and steady. But the voice that speaks is all boy.

There was so much to tell. There was eating and playing, sleeping and praying, the ponies, the chickens, the garden, Auntie and Little Uncle. There were games and day trips. There was feasting and fighting. He was a little boy in a grown-up world; sometimes sounds and situations confused him. "Desamoyre is the bride who slept next to my bedroom," he told his mother once. "She was crying hec hec, and her husband was hurting her."

Then there was Grandpapa. Grandpapa was wonderful. Grandpapa took François for picnics, and they picked strawberries. Grandpapa went fishing and gave him a fish (sadly, Jean and Jousine ate it). Grandpapa hid in the closet while Auntie was putting him to bed. Grandpapa took him hawking and he caught two birds. "The heron was yelling Qua! Qua!" he said, "and the kite was saying Let me go!" François adored his Grandpapa. "I held his finger so tight," he explained, "and I didn't want to let it go, because I love him so much and I am his darling." Grandpapa showed François how to hunt, and he wanted to show his mother, too. The hawks fly up, François told her, they catch the herons and the kites, and as for himself - "I run on my little horse, fly! fly!"

He could barely contain himself. He dictated excited, rambling sentences that bounced from this to that, making hardly any sense at all - except to François and, perhaps, to his mother. He told her how Little Uncle sometimes teased him and threatened to steal his toys. He told how he had scurvy and "booboos" on his hands, how Grandmama [Antoinette] fed him good black bread at bedtime, how he spent the day in the garden eating lots of cherries and feeding his pet chickens. He told her how he gave Aunt Louise little kisses, "the way I used to kiss you, Madame the Queen." He simply called his mother "Madame", "Madame the Queen" and sometimes simply "Maman". He told her he missed her. He wished she would write more. He wished for a baby brother. He wished she would come to France to see him. She could bring King James, his stepfather, he said. He wished for that, too.

Jean the scribe crossed the t's and dotted the i's. Then he handed the boy the pen. At the age of five, François had yet to learn how to handle a quill properly. He scratched and scribbled until eventually, he produced something that passed for a signature.
