So I think I’ll give three last lines, because it’s what I’ve been working on, first up is Din Djarin smut. I was supposed to be writing fluff, between @alltheglitterandtheroar and @megamindsecretlair it changed for the better and teasing is always fun. ☺️

Moonbeam grinned, nodding as he spoke, “Sounds like a thriller Ezra. I’m all ears. Add a dash of romance and some mistaken identity and you have yourself a movie marathon.”

“I’m sure you’d be riveted to hear it.”

“That I would.” Moonbeam crosses her legs and leans forward, touching his chin with a finger, “Speak.”

Chapter 5 of “Weddings 101 with Dieter” is under way as well. I want a lot to be in it, might be too much. We’ll see how it turns out, also smut because Dieter’s gotta get Maya’s dress off - he did promise her that. 😘 Half-ass and Bridezilla are in full swing!

It’s a lot like always because it’s Nerdie, what else am I supposed to do? Too many ideas, not enough follow-through. I did four instead of three. 😵

The path to glory recovery was paved with risks and promises about his future, which at all times hung between life and death but with the scales ever-tipping towards his demise. Going to bed every night was like playing Russian Roulette -- V never knew if he would even wake up the next day. Damned right he took every gig he could that would get him closer to finding a way to fix his head. All he ever wanted was to become a legend -- he got that in spades, but what he really wanted (something he didn’t find out until it was too late), was to connect to something, to someone worth holding onto in Night-Fuckin’-City. V supposed he got that, too. Just a damned shame he had to leave behind everyone he’d ever connected with so soon.

A bizarre gig happened to set itself within V’s sights. It seemed low-level at first glance. Some ripperdoc needed some fetch-quest bullshit and the man was adamant about what he was needing fetched. Some data shard. The guy wasn’t specific.

He was an ex-corpo-rat with plenty of things to say about Arasaka and Militech; he had somehow made it through a gauntlet of death threats and attempts on his life without any major physical trauma (minimal compared to what Arasaka was capable of, anyway). The man was tough as nails and either he grabbed a personality on his way out of Arasaka’s doors, or he always had one and did a perfect job of keeping it under wraps. It was no doubt a riveting story how he made it from the 1% all the way down to a hole-in-the-wall ripper shop. V never asked.

Long story short, that data shard contained Arasaka secrets (a name that kept jabbing open slow to heal wounds), and it wasn’t until V almost got himself killed trying to swipe it that he learned what was even on the damned thing. With dwindling patience, V came close to decking the ripperdoc. He didn’t have time for this kind of bullshit, for barely detailed gigs and half-assed plans. V changed his tune when the doc told him it was the key to his trauma.

Time ticked on, but not fast enough for V. But not slow enough either. Straight up? V was scared. There he laid, in a large vat of ice, violently shivering his nuts off while he waited for the doc’s next action.

The plan? Corrupted software sometimes needed to be uninstalled and repaired. Sometimes the hardware needed a complete system wipe and to be built with new parts to support the new software. What the doc intended on doing was rip V’s psyche from his body (erasing him from his body), rebuild the damaged portions of his brain in what will be the lengthiest portion of the surgery, and then reintroduce V’s engram into what the engram will register as an empty host.

The chances of success were low. The procedure was highly experimental. Uncertainty sat like cold lead in his gut but...what other choice was there? He could hear Johnny in the back of his head scolding him for being such a gonk, for trusting this corpo rat, but Johnny wasn’t here anymore to impart his sage wisdom. Not that V would have listened. He missed that guy.

“Ready, V?”

A nod. Here goes nothing.

‘...wanted to fix one of ‘Saka’s mistakes.’

‘But why? Why did you give a rat’s ass about some merc you’ve only heard of?’

‘I’ve watched those cold-blooded fucks take too many lives -- why did you trust me? Coulda just as easily fucked you over.’

Rebuilt. Renewed. And still exhausted. V didn’t want to be bothered, didn’t want to do much of anything. As excited as he was about his second chance at life, he couldn’t help but feel apprehensive with his optimism. It was too early to tell if what the doc did even worked. Only when he was certain of the results would he bother mentioning any of this to his friends.

V stretched out on his bed. The glow from his computer illuminated his room in a soft, green hue. Other than that, his room was dark. Shades were drawn. A headache pounded away. V hoped that he could sleep it off. If he had to be honest? Though sleep nagged at his already drooping eyelids, he couldn’t shake away the gut-wrenching fear that nothing worked. That he’d be coughing up blood same as before. It’d be like in the movies when the secret agent thought they diffused the bomb only to have to timer speed up and detonate anyway.

Time began to tell him that he had nothing to fear anymore. What’d Vik give him? Weeks to live before he was consumed by his head trauma and Johnny’s engram? V was sitting happy at a modest five months post-op, a fact he liked to brag about from time to time. Something felt like it was missing, though. A certain, ramblin’ terrorist in the back of his head.

V missed Johnny.

MerleFest lineup announced

MerleFest, presented by Window World, is proud to announce the initial lineup for MerleFest 2018, which will be held April 26 - 29. The annual homecoming of musicians and music fans returns to the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The complete lineup for MerleFest 2018 will be announced over the next few months. Today’s lineup announcement includes legendary artist Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, Robert Earl Keen, The Devil Makes Three, Balsam Range and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra Ensemble, “Mission Temple Fireworks Revival” featuring Paul Thorn & Band, the Blind Boys of Alabama and the McCrary Sisters, and many more. The 2018 Midnight Jam presented by The Bluegrass Situation on Saturday, April 28th will start at 10:30 p.m. and run well past midnight, with special hosts Town Mountain and Jim Lauderdale. This very popular after-hours hootenanny gathers many performers from the festival for impromptu artistic collaborations and one-of-a-kind superstar jams that have become legendary in the festival’s history.

 Kris Kristofferson – Kris Kristofferson is a three-time Grammy winner who has recorded 30 albums, including three with pals Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings as part of the Highwaymen. Kristofferson has spent three decades performing concerts all over the world and achieved remarkable success as a country songwriter at the start of the 1970s. His songs helped redefine country songwriting, and by 1987, it was estimated that more than 450 artists had recorded Kristofferson’s compositions. In 1977, he earned a Golden Globe for Best Actor and has acted in more than 70 films to date.
