From a documentary featuring Bakshi , I learned that he knew & hired a slew of comic book artists to handle a lot of the art chores on the film. One of my favorites ever... 1977's cartoon #wizards is not to everyone's taste, but when you find someone else who enjoys this eccentric, apocalyptic scifi fantasy cartoon, filled with incredible characters and some of the most innovative and unique animation in cartoon cinema history you form an unbreakable bond of super nerddom that few understand. Way back in '77 Bakshi was not only taking on Nazi superiority/control themes, but was tackling the world's growing over reliance on technology and how it would destroy them. Yes kids there was cool, important 'technology' waaay back in the 1970s. Princess Elinore from Ralph Bakshi's Wizards , when she was magically imprisoned between two stone posts. This was one of the better animated sequences , and I think the film had more than a few. I enjoy the sheer outrageous nipple pointing fun of the movie.
