I remember you posting a picture of one of your Khajiit OCs (an ohmes-raht, IIRC) who had just a little bob-tail. Curious if he was born with that, or if it was cut off in combat, or what.
That would be Ma'Jahrann's older brother Zan'Sien. He was born like that!
Back when I designed him, my logic was that ohmes-raht being almost human in appearance, they would not have a long flexible tail but a short one. They are closest to the ohmes who don't have tails at all. Ma'Jah on the other end is my design for a tojay-raht which are said to fare well in trees, so she's full on squirrel. This being said, Zan'Sien does have a shorter tail than average. This is approximately what they'd look like with switched furstocks according to those design rule. They are both very fluffy, but he is significantly tankier than Ma'Jah. Zan'Sien's design is very old and hasn't been updated in forever so I'm not sure if I'd design him the same today!
For comparison's purpose this is what Rakkan, who's got shorter hair, would look like:
As for why Zan'Sien's tail is so short, no idea. Bobtails and shorter tails are naturally occuring in real life domestic cats, so why not? Both his parents have very average tails.

Note
what would your old man do if he met my old man
Rakkan tends to at least look down on dunmer and at best be wary of them from his Morrowind experience (with the sole exception of Ashlanders who's customs he respects) & same for richer people from his childhood and life in the Imperial city. Unfortunately I do not think he would like your old man or try talking to him much but he shouldn't take it personally as he's like that to uh, the majority of people in the world

Designer's Note: Secret Stones have been passed down from a time so long ago that not even the Zonai know their origins. Initially we designed them to resemble dragon embryos, but they eventually settled into the form of the magatama jewels worn as accessories in ancient Japan.
Although their shape is simple, we took great care to convey a sense of the power contained within the Secret Stones. So that their color profile wouldn't be too basic, for example, we mixed two or three hues within each Secret Stone to reflect the palette of each Sage.
The art director gave the concept of "rakkan" [the stamps that traditional Japanese artists use to sign their work] as the key aesthetic for the glyphs carved into the Stones. These glyphs are based on the Chinese characters that represent the Sages. While maintaining a minimum level of readability, we transformed the shapes of the characters into something closer to symbols, each of which includes an "eye" element. We hope these designs lend a distinctive air of mystery to the Sages.

Dune 2 dances on the corpse of Hollywood
Yes they changed one minor character from part one from a man into a Strong Black Woman. Yes they also technically racebent the love interest, although if you told me that was purely because Zendaya was just too good not to cast I'd believe you(the scene-to-scene direction can sometimes do her dirty and make her character just seem completely bipolar, but her actual acting is flawless). But this story is an epic the likes of which modern Hollywood is terrified of. It commits not just one cardinal sin of film, but two. Not only does it put forth the radical, scandalous idea that a child is in fact alive inside her mother's womb, but there's a scene about halfway through in which a man saves a woman-the ultimate Hollywood taboo, tossed aside like the corpse of a Harkonnen soldier unlucky enough to exist anywhere near Rakkan. I challenge anyone to name a better recent movie that wasn't either Everything Everywhere All At Once or Dune 1(which doesn't count, since this is an iteration on that, taking what it did and building on it, expanding it the way sequels used to do). I really don't think you can.
And while I can understand arguments from purists that the character of Paul's younger sister being so drastically changed might be the director taking liberties, I'd like to put forth a thought experiment: would this masterpiece be able to have the same effect if a four-year old child who was a strategic genius and a sadistic killer was helping Jessica in her machinations? Because that's what would've happened if they transliterated Alia as-written, and I think, no matter what they tried, it would look as over-the-top and dumb as the 1984 movie. It's true that any change in an adaptation that isn't made as a concession to the medium being adapted to is the adapter taking liberties, but in this case I can't help but feel that such a radical change was what was necessary in order for the story to work in this form.
Oh, and Christopher Walken is the Emperor of the Known Universe. Walk without rhythm, baby.
#dune#dune part 2#dune 2#dune movie#also they conspicuously didn't say “jihad”#but that's at least somewhat understandable given the past quarter-century#christopher walken#weapon of choice
