Note
Void worm gets bored or something and decides to take a vacation from the void to visit some other region like shoreline.
Not sure how the void worm would get there, maybe it just swims in the air somehow.
!!! Drugs TW !!!
(sorry I don't know how to spoiler something on Tumblr) :(

Spoilers for Rainworld Saint campaign under the cut
Tumblr media
I'm going to start a series of drawings where I do my own designs for the passage artwork! Started with Saint because this was my favorite design I had sketched out when I was coming up with the idea.

incredibly long rainworld brainrott below
okay so I did some rainworld research and I've come to the theory that everyone is inside their own time loop from the moment they're born till they die.
their reincarnations always meet up which can change people.
imagine you and your bestie are on your first life but you die early then you wake back up and your friend has aged like 50 years and died after you and you don't even know them anymore. it took 50 years for them to come back to the second life you had already passed.
now think this but with the population of+600 people
of friking course everyone would be suicidal it's going to be fking chaos!
and the person who's aged the most is probably going to know the most about the last cycle which means NOTHING KNOWING THE PAST CYCLE MEANS NOTHING BECAUSE THERE'S HUNDREDS OF TIME TRAVELERS RUNNING AROUND AND CAUSING THE BUTTERFLY AFFECT
this is why I believe rainworld cycles aren't related to time travel at all but are related more to... a shared dreamscape.
like the matrix but like those dreams are a layer of reality itself. and there's infinite layers that every person falls down through by death different POINTS in time.
which means time itself is actually linear and everyone is just living groundhogday in a self contained dreamscape.
now I know the whole point of this superstructures was to ya know. pull a dusttale to this. because when in doubt over immortality and undead and an endless hopeless cycle of being alienated from people close to you as things around you change forever- u kill everyone.
are we all on the same page now good.
because I think while void fluid essentially works similarly to undertale core and what gaster did, literally deleting past present and future self from existence. it sorta just wipes all of the worlds data of you.
which brings the question
..
how does rain world react to an anomaly. something beyond.
I can't help but think the voidworms are sorta weaving these dreams and are the closest thing to a Photoshop flowey that comes close to rivaling an anomaly/players power.
like are we those worms? do we look like that from the scugs perspective? giant incomprehensible beings that literally the frame of the screen can't even contain?
or are they LIKE the player's except they're more like border keepers similar to Chara who keeps the script and narration in check.
or they're just plainly just friking there with no specific role or reason. which I think is the likeliest option. I feel like they're the personafication of unexistwce. a metaphorical worm digging through your corpse as you decay without even being there to witness it yourself. death is a paradox because to experience it you have to be alive.
got distracted..
anyways I'm thinking.... imagine you're a genocidal iterator that nukes the planet.
the issue here is ONE THING HAS TO BE ALIVE to stop it's own cycle
without void fluid or idk... pulling a saint every creature can only influence their own cycle.
our slugcat is DEAD AFTER so many years yet to keep their deaths permanent I feel like an iterator might come up with the solution to make one purposed organism as a [watcher] as in an undying beast that is in charge of watching over the dead world after everything is collapsed.
that's actually heresy in rainworlds religion because it goes against everything iterators were made to do.
so I think our giant hypothetical computer is probably going to either get caught on one giant error or leave that solution for after when it learns how other iterators defied their code to commit suicide.
I feel like that is kinda why the ancients left the iterators to be unable to end themselves. they're a failsafe.
so after everything dues they'll keep that dream going.
but even THEN the beings that are all dead move onto the next dreamscape layer while this iterator lives clinging onto that top layer.
also echoes. they can travel both between time, space AND these dream layers.
they're also fascinating comparison to the player anomaly. specially with them only being around because they're attached to this world.
if crimson ever was in rainworld they'd be an echo. no not a cursed ancient. but like naturally just be born from nothing to just hover around like a really curious ghost watching over this slugcats adventure.
then comes another thing...
did they make more iterators in other continents. are we even on a planet or is the world literally actually just flat with the void under it. are stars and space real.
if so I imagine they'd also try something similar to five pebbles but instead of deactivating the life form they create mutates differently.
like I feel like the rot has had to have something to do with [the end].
something that dissolves matter and merges everything.
I wonder if the other iterators would make something similar but with different equations and different ingredient/calculations to go about it resulting in this experiment being something akin to just raw data.
digital biological physical... they create raw data that sorta creates this black hole thing and starts corrupting reality.
like they almost get close to hacking reality using void fluid+sci-fi calculation+ endless simulations.
see I think some iterators would have purposed organisms that actively die and come back to collect data from future cycles.
these would probably be the "dreamers" and function similarly to a saint slugcat. only able to activate that jump when on max karma.
so like from the pov of the iterator the lil guy falls asleep and wakes up about the knowledge of the world that everyone that died is in right now. like one layer down.
this creature would surely have ties to echos and could even be made in collaboration with them.
maybe this raw data gains sentience and maybe it infects the void fluid then goes to invade the dreams but the giant ass worm deletes it.
maybe they had actually succeeded but the worm ate the solution.
SE I think we're missing something here because if you can just delete someone from the past can't you also insert something in the past present as future as if it was always there?
I feel like an iterator would unironically accidentally do something that the worm just eats because that thing became too strong and was about to reshape reality like the saint.
but like
I feel like if five pebbles rose up as a zombie iterator and the moss became sentient would be fascinating in a different cycle.
you see if pebbles deactivates or dies he'll just be back and the point of the next dreamscape.
which itself can make him make different choices but I think the rot would have still been there. in a different cycle maybe he tried something else and it made the rot sentient and sapient.
and like it slowly started reactivating pebbles heaters and different facilities using biomass as fuel instead of void fluid.
see if cancer cells were actually smart enough to know killing their host also kills them with that flawed reproduction they'd probably be fucking overpowered...
like instead of mindlessly eating the metal they'd just spread to the core functions and the brain sorta taking over like a zombie ant and instead of killing the host they hear it up and manually switch everything on. (like imagine the blue daddy long legs being eaten by a different colored rot wall because now this is a system organism and the blue ones are either gonna have to convert to their side or serve as food.)
how does one give the flesh wall a brain to think. data! information! remember what I said about dreamers? if a dreamer catches the rot the information it brings up with it will still be there allowing the rot to think.
or like let's call it rot#2 because this one's not pebbles doing yk?
anyways a zombie iterator that doesn't function by it's purpose by defines itself new questions and messes around with science to find it's own answers operating independently from the system it was built on...
I feel like an iterator that wants to die but can't would unironically corrupt itself with this type of intelligence to bypass it's own coding.
but by the time it's corrupted that desire to die also fades. it's hungry. not just for food but for knowledge. more. more. it has to know everything. it has to see other dreams it wants new forms new hosts but that DAMMEND WORM WILL EAT IT if it goes too far.
