absolutely not trying to rain on your parade here anon (if you want to headcanon them as the most pda heavy couple to ever pda then yipeee), but i personally don’t think they’d be big on pda after the war - just because they now can keep that part of their lives private.

that being said, i don’t think they would be uncomfortable holding hands or walking with her arm looped through his in town. it’s actually sort of a comfort to both of them, especially in larger crowds if the market was busy or during a festival. the community that settles, or in some cases resettles, in district 12 know them and know them well. they’re almost like family, so they don’t stare nor treat them as anything other than members of the community.

sometimes, when town is busy and there’s a lot of hustle and bustle (so really no one is paying them any mind) she’ll be emboldened to lift his hand up to her mouth and just brush him with her lips. coupled with a shy smile, it always makes his heart stutter. likewise, if they’re in a larger crowd and she’s starting to get antsy he’ll rub her back or her shoulders - nothing too intimate, just a reminder that he’s there with her.

but to the other part of your headcanon, i’m giggling at the thought of her being caught on a grumpy day where she’s stomping home through town (maybe she felt ripped off in her trading, or haymitch’s geese woke her up by being loud as hell) with peeta‘s sunny and friendly self following behind her like “hey!” “good afternoon!” “mikey, how’s it going?” to everyone they pass by. it’s so ludicrous that by the time they get home she’s almost laughing. almost.

What made you ship it?

Oooh, this is the rare case when I chose to give in to the general opinion. I gradually joined this fandom and also gradually chose my favorite ships, I came across these two many times, so I decided that it was cool. I also like these concepts of "silent and constantly talking" or "there are only eyes, there is only a mouth". I found a certain charm in all this

And also peace and fun, it's so cute

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

Probably an idea with opposites, I love this, oh, and also, I think that riv could show sm that life is not so gray, it can be fun and it should and should be appreciated

Probably, the fact that riv can really be more serious and reasonable, even though he may behave stupidly, but I think he can contrast this and if he sees that someone is feeling bad, then immediately change his face
