And thank you to anyone who is helping out during the pandemic and all of us staying at home. Being quarantined isn't easy because its not natural for humans to be socially distant and not interact with our enviornment. Even seeing people, being around them and having simple interactions can positively impact psychological wellbeing. This pandemic is affecting all of us in different ways as it creates so many worries and fears of the unknown. But if we do our part and take precautions, we can protect ourselves and each other. Hopefully this time period can bring some positive when it eventually ends. It has taken so much and forced so many of us to give up our plans and our "normal" way of life. But humanity is powerful and its true colors shine through as we all try to adjust to the new normal. Silver Linings

Because there is no such thing as a perfect life, everyone needs to be reminded that there is hope for sunshine and even rainbows after the rain. Every one of us needs to be reminded that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that silver linings are not mere metaphors—they are real.  Sometimes, the demands and stresses of everyday living are enough to bring a person down. Sometimes one feels so beaten that there could be no possible way to bounce back. Sometimes challenges are just too huge for one to cope up. Sometimes there is no sense why horrible things happen. The good news, however, is the ray of light at the end of the tunnel—the metaphorical silver lining. There is always something to be learned and to be gained from every experience—no exceptions whatsoever. Understandably, when one suffers from the injustices of the world, when Murphy’s law just happens at the most inopportune time, or when the world is too much to bear, one asks the why’s and how’s: Why is this happening to me? How is this possible? Why is this happening now? Are those the right questions? No, they are not. Obviously, nobody can take anybody’s right to feel bad about the bad things in life, but truth be told, focusing on those things will not make them right. No amount of allowing in pain or stress will make things right. One has to experience those, let go, and let be. The right questions are just as simple to ask: How can I make things better? What can I do differently? What is the lesson here? Where is the silver lining? Those are not just simple questions, but more than anything else, those are the questions that will help anyone bounce back on his or her feet. Perhaps it won’t be easy. After all, instant things are usually perishable while things that are truly worthwhile are always worth the wait or the struggle.  SO where is the silver lining you are looking for? The body has a natural way of healing even when it is wounded or compromised. It finds ways to compromise for the wounded area and overcompensates to reach homeostasis. In the case of spine or any other neurological injury, healing occurs through other neurogenic pathways created by the nerves. This is why healing is a little wierd sometimes, it feels like you are getting worse even though you are healing. With some parts of the body, you can only heal so much and the final outcome of your health will never be the same as the baseline. But as long as you heal, you can find a way to have a decent quality life as long as it's possible. With that being said, trauma changes your thinking, behaviors, feelings, and beliefs. These changes may be immediate, latent, or even hidden deep in the subconscious. You see the world from a different lens and you respond to it accordingly as well. But with healing that is chosen and also the type that comes with time and other experiences, that pain can be transformed into lessons or even a higher purpose. When trauma and healing come together, it seems like war at first. But if the healing consoles the wounds enough, the result can be surprisingly good. Not good in the cliche way but in the sense that the person will be stronger, wiser and better at discerning when it comes to his or her experiences. Maybe the wound will never fully heal and some maladaptive behaviors may remain. But sometimes those behaviors help a person navigate an experience or a person that is crooked.
