Gen 1: Wrath

Karen Karensby - game begins with teen Karen living alone in Willow Creek

Spring, Year 1

Karen hates everyone, except Malcolm Landgraab. Life exists to piss Karen off, and heaven forbid you get in her way. On her first night in Willow Springs, Karen started a fire, and instead of being grateful for being saved, argued with the firefighters until they stormed off the lot. Her home was invaded by Robin Banks and Karen was so smug when Robin was arrested thanks to Karen swiftly calling the police from bed. 

Karen is making money by painting beautiful masterpieces - but she hates it! She tried being a babysitter, and it does not pay enough to deal with those bratty children, so she quit. She can’t wait until she’s old enough to start her REAL dream job, a criminal mastermind. She’s had her eyes on Malcolm since the beginning of high school, and who better to hate everyone with than Malcolm? 

Hating everyone extends to herself, too, as she picked up cigarettes within a week of moving to Willow Springs. On her first day of high school, she tried cannabis and hated it -  it’s legal here, but Karen doesn’t care, she’s secretly (or not so secretly) judging any Sim that uses it. Stinking up a place with the cigarette smell is only part of Karen’s dastardly plans. She starts shit with everybody - adults, teens, children, even Bob Pancakes. Karen is a bully, a brat, a stuck up bitch, and plans to let everybody know. 

Despite being a total fucking bitch, Karen is terrified of being judged, and sits quietly with these fears and continues on anyway. She’s having trouble making friends in school, and wonders if they’re secretly all judging her. Karen set her eyes on Malcolm, and within weeks of being a bitch to everybody but him, he was hers. She’s got Malcolm on lock - evil does need a partner after all.

Right before Love Day, she asked Malcolm to be her boyfriend, and he said yes  - he’s only seen a taste of just how evil Karen can be.  Her mask is starting to slip, though - her hotheadedness is only vaguely disguised by her nicotine addiction. Don’t speak to Karen in the morning before she’s had a smoke! As soon as she graduates high school, she’s going to marry Malcolm - whether he likes it or not. . Not even the Flower Bunny escapes Karen’s wrath. Instead of enjoying a pleasant Bunny Day with Malcolm, she took off out of the house to physically fight the Flower Bunny for eggs. She won, of course, and the Flower Bunny is now her mortal enemy. She’s rapidly approaching Summer with high hopes - and an eye on next Spring for her graduation. Some notes under the cut

There are a lot of rules for this challenge, but I don’t have too many packs so I’m mostly going based on vibes. I’m also not great at taking in-game photos. Something I did to make this playthrough slightly less “suffering” and slightly more “vibes”, because I have Seasons, when the first holiday approached I gave my sim a small budget for seasonal decorations and then reset her money back to 1500 after. This also helps to keep her from getting sad about a bad holiday. I love the realism that holidays add, especially to a legacy playthrough like this, as it sort of reinforces the passing of time. 

I also started her with a very basic bed, fridge, stove, fire/burglar alarms, and toilet so the house wasn’t empty. It was hard enough starting with just that. For the Wrath generation, I found it very hard to find a potential romantic partner to carry on the legacy without using ANY positive interactions. So I decided the only person she’s allowed to be nice to is Malcolm Landgraab, who I’ve eyed as her future husband since his traits fit the lore of the Wrath gen. Once they’re married though? All bets are off. I use a lot of CC in my saves, but Malcolm is still basegame stuff. Once he joins her household I’ll give him a glow up. Mods I'm using that affect gameplay: MCCC, Basemental Dr*gs

Gilbert Baker's Pride Legacy: an LGBT Legacy Challenge

General Concept & General Rules

This Sims 4 challenge is based on Gilbert Baker’s original 8 stripe rainbow pride flag. Baker assigned each stripe a meaning connecting to the LGBT community. Each generation embodies one of these stripes and their meanings. 

Every generation heir must complete their aspiration and reach the top level of their careers. Each heir must wear at least one item of their respective stripe colors at all times. Each heir can be any gender, including trans and nonbinary genders, unless specified otherwise.  Each heir can be any sexuality, unless specified otherwise.  The only rule: the main sim cannot be both cisgender and heterosexual/heteromantic.  You are encouraged to hang the pride flag of your sim’s identity, whatever you decide it is.

Note: Diversity is a cornerstone of our community. Please be conscious of the sims you use to play this challenge- LGBT people can be all body types, all races, and all religions. Everyone deserves spaces in the community and in your gameplay.

Note: this gen has two aspirations, which might feel overwhelming, but the Neighborhood Confidante one is only one level, and the goals overlap with this gen’s goals!

You spend the rest of your life trying to help your children and heal yourself. You’re also a very caring person and want to help everyone you can, and you choose a career which allows you to do so.  All you want is to see your kids succeed in life.

When you’re a teenager you realize you’re trans, and begin taking steps to feel more at home with yourself.  As an adult, you’re happier than you’ve ever been, and you’ve even found the love of your life and discovered your love of music - the only thing is, you’ve been so focused on your transition you forgot about… the career, making-money part of life.  You don’t really care.  You find a small house and live there with your partner and children, never working, just enjoying your happiness and creativity.

You’re dedicated to preserving nature just as it is - and you find a group of friends who have just the same goal.  You live with them your whole life, and eventually you decide to adopt a child together.  You’re excited to pass on your love for the environment to a new generation.

You’re going to do everything you can to be the parent you never had- you’re determined to have a large, loving family, living in harmony with the world and each other. You want the most typical, average, perfect suburban life possible. But you have some… erratic traits you inherited from your parent. Plus, society’s idea of a “perfect normal family” doesn’t include a nonbinary, bisexual parent. These things seem like obstacles to your dreams- but eventually you realize it’s not you that’s wrong, it’s just that society’s picture of perfect harmony needs to change to include you.

Gen 13: Chapter 1

Cameron & Yasmin - Young Adult -> Adult Zara & Zane - Child SATURDAY It is New Year's Eve, the last day of Winter in Brindleton Bay. Around noon, Zara began experiencing sharp pains in her abdomen. Yasmin took her to the doctor, who sent her to the ER straight away, where she was diagnosed with appendicitis. Zara's appendix was removed and she was required to stay in the hospital for the next two days to recover. Back at the house, Cameron had spent the last week or so trying to get to know some of the local stray cats & dogs. One particular stray that caught his attention was Harley, an adorable mixed breed cat. Cameron slowly built up a friendship with Harley and discovered her traits: Affectionate, Mischievous, and Free Spirit. By Saturday night, Cameron's relationship with Harley was high enough that he was able to adopt her! And just like that, Cameron's New Year's resolution of Adopt a Pet was completed in a single day. Cameron takes Harley home and introduces her to Yasmin & Zane, who are very excited to finally have a furry friend in the house.

SUNDAY Today is Cameron & Yasmin's birthday! The two both aged up to Adults and gained some minor wrinkles. Shortly after blowing out his candles, Cameron felt the urge to call the doctor and make an appointment, as something felt off. The doctor evaluated him and gave him a crushing diagnosis - Arthritis. Most sims would not be too affected by an Arthritis diagnosis, especially at a (relatively) young age. However, Cameron was a Professional Athlete and his career would no doubt be seriously affected by this condition. Cameron returned home and shared the news with Yasmin, who hugged & reassured him. He decided to go for a late-night walk, hoping it would help relieve some of the stress & anxiety that had built up since getting his diagnosis. While walking around the neighborhood, Cameron came across Rainbow, another stray cat (Bengal) whom he had socialized with a bit throughout the week. He noticed that something was off with Rainbow - was he sick? Cameron felt awful for Rainbow and decided that he was going to help. And so, after a few cat treats & back scratches, Rainbow was adopted into the Foust household, and the following personality traits came along with him: Curious, Aloof, Talkative.

Ups and Downs

Since I last posted I’ve bought quite a few dolls. Both in Monster High, Rainbow High and also a couple of factory Blythe girls. I am eyeing up a few legit Blythe dolls and hopefully will have one before Christmas as a gift to myself.

My most recent dolls are the Fear book Draculaura and Amped Up Frankie who has to be my favourite looking Frankie doll. Which is saying something because I’m not a huge fan of g3 Frankie (mainly because she has so much pink).

I saw people arguing over the differences in g3 to g1 Monster High. It confuses me to some degree because while I get there is some over saturation of colour what do these folks want? The line to stop dead again. Having said that if you don’t like this gen of Monster High then go buy gen 1 dolls on eBay. I prefer gen1 Frankie but she wasn’t even my favourite character in gen 1. At least not by the time the line finished. She was at first but I preferred Draculaura and Ghoulia towards the end of gen1.

Speaking of Ghoulia I wasn’t sure about her gen 3 doll at first but now I have both playline dolls. And she’s my favourite. I still want her to have red in her outfits like in gen 1 but I can live with this incarnation. I got Cleo’s core refresh, Lagoona’s Monster Fest and Clwdeen’s core doll. I think that’s all the girls from Monster High I have so far. I’m getting a new bookcase so hopefully I can get a good group photo. I need more stands. My literal only real complaint for generation 3 is the lack of stands. If SHEIN can sell ten stands for £6-£8 then it wouldn’t have killed Mattel to add a stand to the dolls. It’s a little cheap of them to stop doing that.

A few more Rainbow and Shadow High dolls got added to the collection. Hopefully they’ll fit on the bookcase 😅🤣🤣 I have so much reorganising to do over the next few days. Between my gen 1 My Little Ponies, my MH, RH and factory Blythe I have total organised chaos right now. Seeing them all makes me happy on difficult days and I think that’s the joy of collecting as an adult.

Comic: - $30 - one B&W page - $40–$45 - 1 full colour page - $53–$55: 2 B&W pages - $60–$63: 2 full colour pages - $63–$65: 3 B&W pages - $78–$81: 3 full colour pages For the comic, I’m only offering a maximum of three (3) pages and only up to three characters main characters (this means, the comic will focus on those 1-3 characters. They will appear as many times as necessary in each page, but any other characters will be in the background and will be doodled) no matter how high bidding gets. For the illustration(s), background can be more complex. If it’s a comic, the backgrounds will be simpler. The final file will be delivered via email, high quality — the size of the canvas and file depends on the idea. I will start working on this as soon as we get in contact, but due to regular commissions, it might take a few months. You are free to print the work or post it anywhere you want (with credits) afterwards. No commercial use is allowed, though.
