Basically, the au/theory(?) is saint was previously a regular slugcat that had died in that first storm, the cycle decided to put sos' existance in Saint's body since he had passed from the storm.

After straw "died", she continued yelling triple affirmative until she couldnt. A long while in the void passed, much shorter to her than the *actual* time passed, though still long. Finally, an opportunity came where she could inhabit a new body, so she was placed there and the cycle went on.
