You work in advertising?
Teeeeeeechnically I used to. Before I had to quit for a variety of reasons, I worked what's called traffic at my local radio station array. My job was to arrange what order the commercials played in between the music, and very occasionally, help create those commercials by voicing a script or transcribing an old spot into text format.
I no longer do that. The sales department was the group who more accurately "worked in advertising" but my involvement was to make sure they did their jobs correctly.

There's this commercial (for lack of better terms) that keeps playing on my local radio station… It's a commercial for the Alzheimer's Association. It starts by telling a story about this guy's mom.
This mom – who happens to be up there in years, was late to lunch because she made a wrong turn… mentioned she wasn't playing cards with her friends, anymore… and got up and asked directions to the ladies' room during lunch.
After it tells the story, it tells the listening that this son "missed three signs of Alzheimer's", then asks the listener: "Did you?"
So, according to the commercial… if your mom loses interest in hobbies, or if she overshoots her destination, or if she has to ask directions to an in-building location, then she must have Alzheimer's disease. I guess I must have Alzheimer's disease, too, since I'm easily turned around, easily bored, and always ask directions to places, myself, huh? But what if…?
She made a mistake?
She just got bored playing cards?
She wasn't familiar with the layout of the restaurant?
This commercial sucks. This is not a good way to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease. This is just stupid.

How’re you feeling today? The news still feels really unreal to me
I can’t really pinpoint what I’m feeling. On the one hand it feels unreal to me too because I truly didn’t think I would have to deal with the death of anyone in 1d until I was literally an old woman. But on the other hand it feels like I saw it coming and I’m just sad and angry and heartbroken that he struggled and couldn’t get help and that it lead to such a tragic death.
The other day Liam’s girlfriend posted a video of them getting ready together and he looked so frail. His pants were literally falling off him like he was so thin they wouldn’t stay up. That was just such a red flag for me I could tell he wasn’t well and I worried about exactly what ended up happening.
I also keep seeing pictures of him from healthier parts of his life next to more recent photos and just seeing how obvious it was that he was struggling. It’s just so sad. It feels like a part of me is missing a piece. Idk rly how to explain it. It’s surreal.
