Well the lazy way of doing this is the villain in Die Hard is Hans Gruber who was German and Kiel is in Germany. I could also be like: Oh Bruce Willis was born in Germany and yeah. But I love making things more convoluted than that...

So, we all know that Bruce Willis is in Die Hard, but an even more important role was his role as Tony Amato in one singular episode of Miami Vice, which we all know stars Don Johnson in it, who we all know was in Rian Johnson's movie Knives Out, which we all know. Ok I'll stop, even if this is just for you. You know actually I really wanted to connect this to Knives Out and then to 10 Things I Hate About You or 3rd Rock from the Sun because of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but I have changed my mind, as it turns out Edward James Olmos is in the same Miami Vice episode as Don Johnson. Okay, so Edward James Olmos is Admiral Adama in Battlestar Galactica, which also stars Michael Hogan, from your favorite TV show ever, Teen Wolf. BUT, he is also in Skyrim as General Tullius. Skyrim also has Christopher Plummer as Arngeir, who was also in Knives Out. But that's not as fun as connecting to Charles Martinet, who was in the Mario movie despite not playing Mario but whatever. Now, as much as I love Charlie Day and want to connect through him, I feel the need to connect through Crisp Rat, but I'm resisting that cause I had a revelation. Charlie Day is in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, starring Danny DeVito, but Kim Whalen was in an episode of that show, and I love Starkid. Corey Dorris is also in Starkid and he was in an episode of Future Man, which has our icon, Josh Hutcherson, who was in Journey to the Centre of the Earth with Brendan Frasier, who was in the Mummy with Rachel Weisz, and she is married to Daniel Craig, bringing us BACK to Knives Out. Am I losing track of the mission?? NO!!!! So, Knives Out has many amazing cast members, but one of the more iconic ones, is Frank Oz. I just realized that my goal was to eventually bring my connection to the Lion King, and I can easily do that now cause Frank Oz is Yoda, but also that's lame cause I wanted to bring it to Matthew Broderick, but let it be known that we could just do Frank Oz to James Earl Jones at this point. So, Frank Oz was in Star Wars with Mark Hamill, who is in many, many things, such as Avatar, which features Dee Bradley Baker as Appa. He is also Perry the Platypus in Phineas and Ferb (for some reason my brain broke and almost wrote Despicable Me). Phineas and Ferb features Thomas Brodie-Sangster, which is always very funny to me, but it also has Ashley Tisdale, who was in the wonderful movie, 2009's Aliens in the Attic. Aliens in the Attic features many people, including Austin Butler, someone who was in the After movies, Tim Meadows, and Andy Richter, who played Mort in Madagascar. Ben Stiller is in Madagascar, who was in Night as the Museum, which has Rami Malek, who was in Bohemian Rhapsody with Joe Mazzello, who is in Jurassic Park (AND a movie called Star Kid). Jeff Goldblum is in Jurassic Park and also in Thor: Ragnarok, which also has Sam Neill in it, but unrelated to the goal at hand. Thor has Chris Hemsworth, who was in 2009's Star Trek, starring Chris Pine, who was in Wonder Woman with Robin Wright, who is in the Princess Bride with Cary Elwes, who was in Psych. Since they are not in the same episode, James Roday Rodriguez is in Psych, and so is Ally Sheedy, who was in War Games with Matthew Broderick.

To answer your question, yes, I came to the official conclusion that I really needed to get on track or this would literally last forever. Crazy how I can get myself to do this and not my homework. Ignore the fact that it took me over a month to respond to your question. Matthew Broderick is Simba in the Lion King, which also features Nathan Lane as Timon. Nathan Lane was in The Nutcracker: The Untold Story, which I know about solely because of Danny Gonzalez. Nathan Lane plays Albert Einstein in this movie, and so, within the lore of the movie, we could accurately state that because Albert Einstein exists within the movie, so does Max Planck, who knew Lise Meitner. I just wanted to say that cause I am aware as to how much you love her. But Max Planck was born in Kiel. Thank you and goodnight.

I wanted to say that I'm very sorry. I'm in a terrible headspace right now so I don't want to post anything too long because I don't know where my brain will lead me. But I will say something more extensive once I've prepared myself emotionally. I know people want an immediate, detailed response but I've never found immediate responses to anything to be as fair and honest as they could be. Always more driven more by emotion than anything else. I will say more soon, though. But for now, I want to apologize. The Largest Dam Removal Project In The US Is Completed – A Major Win For Indigenous Tribes

The largest dam removal project in US history is finally complete, after crews last week demolished the last of the four dams on the Klamath River. It’s a significant win for Tribal Nations on the Oregon-California Border who for decades have fought to restore the river back to its natural state.

The removal of the Four Hydroelectric Dams — Iron Gate Dam, Copco Dams 1 and 2, and JC Boyle Dam — allows the region’s iconic salmon population to swim freely along the Klamath River and its tributaries, which the species have not been able to do for over a century since the dams were built.

Mark Bransom, chief executive officer of the Klamath River Renewal Corporation, the nonprofit group created to oversee the project, said it was a “celebratory moment,” as his staff members, conservationists, government officials and tribal members gathered and cheered on the bank of the river near where the largest of the dams, Iron Gate, once stood.

Federal regulators approved the plan to raze the dams in 2022. The next year, the smallest of the four dams, Copco No. 2, was removed. Crews then began releasing water from the dams’ reservoirs at the beginning of this year, which was necessary before dismantling the last remaining dams.

The river system has been steeped in controversy: During the recent historic Western drought that dried up the Klamath Basin, an intense water war pitted local farmers against Indigenous tribes, government agencies and conservationists.

But anxiety turned to joy for the Indigenous people who have lived for centuries among the Klamath and its tributaries.

“We all came together in the moment with a feeling that ranged from pure joy to anticipation to excitement,” Bransom told CNN. “For the first time in over 100 years, the river is now back in its historical channel, and I think that was an extraordinarily profound moment for people to actually witness that — the reconnecting of a river.”

The Yurok Tribe in Northern California are known as the “salmon people.” To them, the salmon are sacred species that are central to their culture, diet and ceremonies. As the story goes, the spirit that created the salmon also created humans and without the fish, they would cease to exist.

Amy Bowers-Cordalis, a member of and general counsel for the Yurok Tribe, said seeing those dams come down meant “freedom” and the start of the river’s “healing process.”

“The river for Yurok has always been our lifeblood,” Bowers-Cordalis told CNN. Unlike her tribe’s elders, she couldn’t catch as many fish growing up and would see fish carcasses rotting on the banks. “So, restoring the river enables future generations to have a shot at continuing the Yurok fishing way of life.”

Manmade dams, warm water and prolonged droughts have profoundly altered the river and the ecosystems that rely on it, including most importantly, the salmon population.

Beginning their lives in freshwater systems, like the Klamath River, then traveling out to the salty ocean and back again to their spawning grounds, the chinook and coho salmon face a mix of dangers.

In 2002, a viral outbreak due to warm temperatures and low water killed more than 34,000 fish species, primarily the chinook salmon on the Klamath River. It was a turning point for the Yurok and other tribes in the basin, who regard the salmon as culturally and spiritually significant, to push for the dams’ removal.

The utility company PacifiCorps — a subsidiary of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway Energy — built the dams in the early to mid-1900s, without tribal consent, to generate electricity for parts of the growing West. But the dams severely disrupted the lifecycle of the salmon, blocking the fish from accessing their historic spawning grounds.

Then there’s the climate crisis: Warm water and drought-fueled water shortages in the Klamath River killed salmon eggs and young fish due to low oxygen and lack of food and allowed the spread of viruses.

Julie Alexander, senior researcher at Oregon State University, said even without climate change, dam installations still alter the flow regime of rivers, which then changes the water’s temperatures since reservoirs act as thermal units that get warm in the summer.

“This tends to exacerbate pathogens and concentrates the fish so they’re more on top of each other, so you have directly transmitted parasites that can kind of jump from fish to fish,” Alexander told CNN.

Although monumental, the dam demolition project raised concerns over the years about water quality. Built-up sediments stored behind the dam for over a century, potentially containing high levels of organic material, have been released, transforming the river into muddy brown water and harming some of the wildlife in and around it.

But Bransom described it as “short term pain for long-term gain.”

As for the reason the dams were constructed in the first place — electricity — removing them won’t hurt the power supply much, experts say. Even at full capacity, all four dams produced less than 2% of PacifiCorp’s energy, according to the Klamath River Renewal Corporation.

Up next is ramping up restoration work. Bransom said they plan to put down nearly 16 billion seeds of almost 100 native species across 2,200-acres of land in the Klamath River Basin.

And after more than a century, the fish can now swim freely. Yurok’s Bowers-Cordalis said seeing the river reconnected is a form of giving their land back, which is really the “ultimate reward.”

Singer Buffy Sainte-Marie Exposed as Racial Imposter

Although the fetishization of non-Caucasians has reached extremes unimaginable only a few years ago, the racial imposter scam has been going on for some time. Folk singer Buffy Sainte-Marie’s career as an Indian began in Greenwich Village back in the early 1960s.

From the early days of her career, Sainte-Marie has claimed to be a Cree woman, born in Canada. She has also allowed herself to be celebrated as an Indigenous icon and success story.

A success story to be sure. The liberal establishment made her a deity.

Her birth certificate indicates she was born not to Cree Indians in Canada but to white parents in Stoneham, Massachusetts — and yet:

Sainte-Marie has been named a companion of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honour. In addition, her website says she has been awarded honorary doctorates from at least a dozen universities. Recently, there has been a resurgence of interest in Sainte-Marie. In 2021, she appeared on a Canadian stamp. Last year, she was the subject of a travelling exhibit featured at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. She was also the focus of a five-part CBC podcast about her life and legacy and a one-hour concert televised on CBC that celebrated her leadership in Indigenous music.

Late last year, CBC received a tip that Sainte-Marie is not of Cree ancestry but, in fact, has European roots. She is the latest high-profile public figure whose ancestry story has been contradicted by genealogical documentation, including her own birth certificate, historical research and personal accounts — the latest chapter in the complex and growing debate around Indigenous identity in Canada.

Since CBC moonbats consider the issue “complex,” let’s boil it down for them. Stone Age savages were replaced by Europeans. The Europeans were so successful that they eventually became soft and spoiled, so that moonbattery set in. Out of self-hatred, they worship descendants of the savages they displaced. This provides opportunities for racial imposters who wish to enjoy the obsequious favoritism afforded to nonwhites — thereby giving the lie to the liberal dogma that whites are privileged and nonwhites are oppressed.

Disney & Pixar Animation at D23: New Details on 'Frozen 2,' 'The Incredibles 2,' 'Toy Story 4' and More!

Unfortunately for the fan dressed in an inflatable Baymax costume (which was so big he couldn't fit into any of the convention center's seats), Friday's Pixar and Disney Animation panel at D23, Disney’s fan expo, didn't provide confirmation on sequels to either Big Hero 6 or Zootopia. But host John Lasseter, head of Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios, did have plenty of scoop on Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph 2, The Incredibles 2 and more!

The panel began with a return to Arendelle -- starting with the 21-minute short film, Olaf's Frozen Adventure (debuting in theaters ahead of Coco on Nov. 22). Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna, was on hand to explain that, "[Anna and Elsa] don't actually have any holiday traditions of their own, and it breaks Olaf's tiny, little icy heart." The crowd aww-ed as a photo of sad Olaf appeared onscreen and Bell squealed, "I know!"

D23 attendees were then treated to a silly scene of Olaf (Josh Gad) trying to decide if various Christmas traditions are "special enough," before Gad made a surprise appearance to live-debut one of the four new songs called, I believe, "That Time of Year."

As for Frozen 2, we still don't know the title -- though, it's not Disney's Thawed -- but instead, saw home video of directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee's research trip to Norway, Iceland and Finland. These "adventures," we were told, will inspire the sequel, which hits theaters on Nov. 27, 2019.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

In Wreck-It Ralph 2 -- the full title is quite a mouthful -- the arcade is connected to "wee fee" (that'd be WiF) and, as Princess Vanellope herself, Sarah Silverman, revealed, "Vanellope's game, Sugar Rush, breaks and she has to travel with Ralph into the Internet to find a part to fix the game." There, they will meet new characters like Yesss (played by Taraji P. Henson), the shape-shifting algorithm of a trend-making website called Buzzaholic.

In the most synergistic but uproarious clip, Yesss gives Ralph and Vanellope a VIP tour of the Internet that culminates in a visit to OhMyDisney.com, where Star Wars, Marvel, and classic Disney characters roam. Vanellope sneaks off to mess with the Disney princesses, which does not go well. (Cinderella breaks her glass slipper into a shank.) It only gets better and more meta from there, i.e. the princesses declare that none of them have daddy issues!

As a special surprise for D23, each princess' original voice actor was on hand to announce they will reprise their role in the movie -- from Arielle and Belle to Merida and Tiana, Anna, Moana and more! Ralph Breaks the Internet arrives in theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

"It's like, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Edna," so said a supremely amusing featurette that intro'd The Incredibles 2 portion, which featured the likes of Zac Posen, Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner and Rachel Zoe, among other models and fashion experts, discussing the "visionary" and "iconic" Edna.

Writer, director and the voice of Edna, Brad Bird, took the stage to show off new and quite improved test footage of the entire family back in action. The sequel (out June 15, 2018) reunites nearly the entire original cast and also features a brand spankin' new superhero lair and a "greatly expanded" world with superheroes whose powers might just rival the Incredibles family.

"You'll see a lot of Elastigirl. A chain of events puts her at the forefront of the action, while Bob has to stay home," Bird explained of Mr. Incredible's own challenge: "He still doesn't know that Jack Jack has these powers." A work-in-progress clip had Jack defending the home from a raccoon he mistakes as a burglar, resulting in an outrageous backyard brawl.

Toy Story 4

There wasn't much to share about Toy Story 4 -- the movie's official title -- as the fourquel doesn't hit theaters until summer 2019. But Lasseter announced that he will not direct it, officially passing the reigns to Josh Cooley (the Oscar-nominated writer of Inside Out), though the animation legend will stay on as an executive producer and mentor.

Cooley brought along a video tour of the Toy Story offices, which yielded little information regarding the film's plot -- except a hint that it may or may not involve an RV trip? (During D23 2013, it was revealed that the story would be a love story for Woody and Bo Peep.) But we do know the aliens are back, as the montage included the first line of dialogue recorded for Toy Story 4: the alien's signature, "Oooo."

Untitled Pixar Suburban Fantasy World Film

One of two untitled projects teased during the panel -- the other from DisneyToon Studios may be a Planes sequel, about jets that can travel into space. This movie comes courtesy of Monsters University director Dan Scanlon and takes place in, yes, a suburban fantasy world.

"This film takes place in a fantasy world; however, it is a modern fantasy world," explained Scanlon. Long ago, there was magic, but because it was complicated to learn, eventually the citizens invented machines that could do magic for them, like light bulbs, cars and fast food. (One chain is called "To-N-Fro Burger.") There are no humans in this fantasy world, but the land is populated by elves, trolls and sprites -- "Anything that would be on the side of a van in the '70s," Scanlon joked -- and where unicorns are rat-like pests.

The actual story follows two teenage brother whose father died when they were too young to remember him, so they set out on an adventure to somehow find a way to spend one last magical day with him.

As Coco hits theaters this Thanksgiving, there wasn't much news to break about Pixar's Día de los Muertos movie, which Lasseter called "breathtaking" and "incredibly emotional." It's set in Mexico and follows 12-year-old Miguel, who learns he is the great, great grandson of the most famous musician in all of Mexico, Ernesto de la Cruz (voiced by Benjamin Bratt).

Miguel's family has banned music for many generations so, in one clip previewed for Hall D23, Miguel tries to sign up for the town's talent show but isn't able to without a guitar -- which leads him to break into Ernesto's tomb and steal his legendary guitar, setting off a series of supernatural events that transpots him to the land of the dead. Another clip took place in the Department of Family Reunions, packed with skeletons and talk of curses and the adorable scoundrel of a dog, Dante.

Mostly, the Coco portion provided a grand finale to the panel, a live mariachi performance by Miguel himself, actor Anthony Gonzalez, and Bratt, complete with a spectacular shower of confetti.

Today the world is flooded with information about every conceivable field, and is growing ever more globalized and diverse. In this environment, museums’ conventional procedures for storing and exhibiting art by era or by region are becoming ineffective. In Europe and North America, museums of contemporary art have been holding an increasing number of thematically organized exhibitions. This exhibition presents works from the National Museum of Art, Osaka’s collection, grouped according to 19 themes. These themes are ones that enable viewers to stop, think, and find new meanings, and can be roughly divided into “elements of works” and “subjects depicted in works.” The art on view is diverse, ranging from iconic works that embody certain themes to selections that may surprise you, and includes around 50 new acquisitions. The basic frameworks by which we classify art – era, region, genre – are taken into account, but combinations and juxtapositions highlight connections among widely varied works of art. This special exhibition of works from the collection seeks not merely to reconfirm what each viewer already knows about art, but to elicit new discoveries and offer opportunities to think about art from new angles.

The panel began with a return to Arendelle -- starting with the 21-minute short film, Olaf's Frozen Adventure (debuting in theaters ahead of Coco on Nov. 22). Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna, was on hand to explain that, "[Anna and Elsa] don't actually have any holiday traditions of their own, and it breaks Olaf's tiny, little icy heart." The crowd aww-ed as a photo of sad Olaf appeared onscreen and Bell squealed, "I know!"

D23 attendees were then treated to a silly scene of Olaf (Josh Gad) trying to decide if various Christmas traditions are "special enough," before Gad made a surprise appearance to live-debut one of the four new songs called, I believe, "That Time of Year."

As for Frozen 2, we still don't know the title -- though, it's not Disney's Thawed -- but instead, saw home video of directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee's research trip to Norway, Iceland and Finland. These "adventures," we were told, will inspire the sequel, which hits theaters on Nov. 27, 2019.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

In Wreck-It Ralph 2 -- the full title is quite a mouthful -- the arcade is connected to "wee fee" (that'd be WiF) and, as Princess Vanellope herself, Sarah Silverman, revealed, "Vanellope's game, Sugar Rush, breaks and she has to travel with Ralph into the Internet to find a part to fix the game." There, they will meet new characters like Yesss (played by Taraji P. Henson), the shape-shifting algorithm of a trend-making website called Buzzaholic.

In the most synergistic but uproarious clip, Yesss gives Ralph and Vanellope a VIP tour of the Internet that culminates in a visit to OhMyDisney.com, where Star Wars, Marvel, and classic Disney characters roam. Vanellope sneaks off to mess with the Disney princesses, which does not go well. (Cinderella breaks her glass slipper into a shank.) It only gets better and more meta from there, i.e. the princesses declare that none of them have daddy issues!

As a special surprise for D23, each princess' original voice actor was on hand to announce they will reprise their role in the movie -- from Arielle and Belle to Merida and Tiana, Anna, Moana and more! Ralph Breaks the Internet arrives in theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

The Incredibles 2

"It's like, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Edna," so said a supremely amusing featurette that intro'd The Incredibles 2 portion, which featured the likes of Zac Posen, Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner and Rachel Zoe, among other models and fashion experts, discussing the "visionary" and "iconic" Edna.

Writer, director and the voice of Edna, Brad Bird, took the stage to show off new and quite improved test footage of the entire family back in action. The sequel (out June 15, 2018) reunites nearly the entire original cast and also features a brand spankin' new superhero lair and a "greatly expanded" world with superheroes whose powers might just rival the Incredibles family.

"You'll see a lot of Elastigirl. A chain of events puts her at the forefront of the action, while Bob has to stay home," Bird explained of Mr. Incredible's own challenge: "He still doesn't know that Jack Jack has these powers." A work-in-progress clip had Jack defending the home from a raccoon he mistakes as a burglar, resulting in an outrageous backyard brawl.

Toy Story 4

There wasn't much to share about Toy Story 4 -- the movie's official title -- as the fourquel doesn't hit theaters until summer 2019. But Lasseter announced that he will not direct it, officially passing the reigns to Josh Cooley (the Oscar-nominated writer of Inside Out), though the animation legend will stay on as an executive producer and mentor.

Cooley brought along a video tour of the Toy Story offices, which yielded little information regarding the film's plot -- except a hint that it may or may not involve an RV trip? (During D23 2013, it was revealed that the story would be a love story for Woody and Bo Peep.) But we do know the aliens are back, as the montage included the first line of dialogue recorded for Toy Story 4: the alien's signature, "Oooo."

Untitled Pixar Suburban Fantasy World Film

One of two untitled projects teased during the panel -- the other from DisneyToon Studios may be a Planes sequel, about jets that can travel into space. This movie comes courtesy of Monsters University director Dan Scanlon and takes place in, yes, a suburban fantasy world.

"This film takes place in a fantasy world; however, it is a modern fantasy world," explained Scanlon. Long ago, there was magic, but because it was complicated to learn, eventually the citizens invented machines that could do magic for them, like light bulbs, cars and fast food. (One chain is called "To-N-Fro Burger.") There are no humans in this fantasy world, but the land is populated by elves, trolls and sprites -- "Anything that would be on the side of a van in the '70s," Scanlon joked -- and where unicorns are rat-like pests.

The actual story follows two teenage brother whose father died when they were too young to remember him, so they set out on an adventure to somehow find a way to spend one last magical day with him.

Coco

As Coco hits theaters this Thanksgiving, there wasn't much news to break about Pixar's Día de los Muertos movie, which Lasseter called "breathtaking" and "incredibly emotional." It's set in Mexico and follows 12-year-old Miguel, who learns he is the great, great grandson of the most famous musician in all of Mexico, Ernesto de la Cruz (voiced by Benjamin Bratt).

Miguel's family has banned music for many generations so, in one clip previewed for Hall D23, Miguel tries to sign up for the town's talent show but isn't able to without a guitar -- which leads him to break into Ernesto's tomb and steal his legendary guitar, setting off a series of supernatural events that transpots him to the land of the dead. Another clip took place in the Department of Family Reunions, packed with skeletons and talk of curses and the adorable scoundrel of a dog, Dante.

Mostly, the Coco portion provided a grand finale to the panel, a live mariachi performance by Miguel himself, actor Anthony Gonzalez, and Bratt, complete with a spectacular shower of confetti.
