What inspired your love for raccoons?

Mitch, actually! It happened the other way around!

I always appreciated raccoons as being pretty cool, we know dolphins are intelligent but I always thought if humans vanished it'd probably be raccoons that take over our niche because of how they're so curious and can use their hands - dolphins can only bite and poke things.

Mitch was originally a one-off character, and since I'd been planning out Respawn for so long I'd anticipated Cay would eventually be the channel mascot, that I'd use Cay's likeness as a vtuber.

Around that time I'd just finished watching BNA, and I was familiar with the vtuber Snuffy, so I had raccoons on the mind, and there's just something more relatable about more understated animals (same reason I had a moth listener rather than like a butterfly) and so Mitch's story came out of that - trash panda boy needs help.

And then we all fell in love with Mitch, people started calling me "the raccoon one", sending me raccoon gifs, and the first fanart I ever received was of Mitch, by AceOfSpace. So yeah, I always liked raccoons, but my love of raccoons came from the shared love for Mitch
