5 erros que você comete ao se proteger da dengue

Evite estes cinco erros comuns e adote medidas eficazes para se proteger da dengue

Com a chegada do verão e o aumento das chuvas, o cenário está propício para a proliferação do temido mosquito Aedes Aegypti , transmissor de doenças como a dengue, zika e chikungunya. É um momento importante para reforçar os cuidados e prevenir a disseminação dessas doenças. Porém, mesmo com a conscientização sobre a importância da proteção, é comum cometermos alguns erros que podem comprometer nossos esforços.

Aqui estão cinco erros ao tentar se proteger da dengue:

1. Esquecer de reaplicar o repelente ao longo do dia:

Assim como esquecemos de reaplicar o filtro solar, muitas vezes negligenciamos a reaplicação do repelente. É fundamental seguir as orientações do fabricante quanto ao tempo de eficácia do produto e reaplicá-lo conforme necessário para garantir uma proteção contínua.

2. Subestimar os locais propícios para proliferação do mosquito:

Engana-se quem pensa que apenas água limpa e parada é propícia para a reprodução do Aedes Aegypti. O mosquito pode depositar seus ovos em diversos tipos de recipientes com água, incluindo locais com sujeira e detritos. Portanto, é essencial eliminar qualquer acúmulo de água, independentemente de sua qualidade.

3. Não instalar telas protetoras:

O uso de telas protetoras, como mosquiteiros, é uma medida altamente eficaz para evitar a entrada de mosquitos em casa. Apesar de simples, muitas pessoas não adotam essa precaução.

4. Não usar roupas compridas como proteção:

Embora possa ser desconfortável cobrir o corpo durante o verão, o uso de roupas compridas é uma estratégia eficaz para proteger a pele contra as picadas de mosquito, especialmente em áreas ao ar livre. Optar por tecidos leves e respiráveis ajuda a minimizar o calor, sem comprometer a proteção.

5. Depender de soluções caseiras para afastar os mosquitos:

Produtos à base de citronela e outros vegetais podem ter um efeito limitado na proteção contra mosquitos. Em vez disso, é recomendável investir em repelentes comprovadamente eficazes e focar na eliminação dos criadouros do Aedes Aegypti para interromper seu ciclo de reprodução.

Lembre-se de que a dengue é uma doença séria e a prevenção é fundamental para proteger a saúde de todos. Com cuidados diários e com a vacina contra a dengue, é possível reduzir a incidência dessa doença.

Rabelo Boats

One wine was particularly popular on board the Royal Navy and that was port. From the 18th century onwards, this was exported particularly intensively from Portugal and special boats were used for this purpose, the so-called Rabelo boats.

The Rabelo boats are flat boats that transported the casks of port wine from the vineyards of the Douro Valley in Portugal to the port wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, and have done so since the 10th century. As boats navigating a particularly turbulent river, they were difficult to manoeuvre and therefore required experienced seamen - about 7 to 12 per boat to ensure that the precious wine reached the port safely.

A Rabelo on the Rio Douro (x)

A boat was between 19-23m long and had no keel to sail in the shallows, the main sail being a square sail. A long rudder over the stern, the espadela, was used to manoeuvre the boat, with the sailors standing on a wooden structure called apégadas.  From there, it was easier to steer the boat and control the water currents and unexpected obstacles.

It was possible to get to the wine cellars by sail, but the boats had to be pulled back. The boats were pulled by pack animals or humans along towpaths, so-called caminhos de sirga, on the banks of the river. And to prevent the boats from hitting the rocks, the sailors used long tools made of wood and iron called bicheiros.

Because of these very difficult conditions, these men were also allowed to call themselves sailors, something that was otherwise only reserved for those who sailed the high seas. The boats became obsolete, however, when the Douro railway and adequate roads were built in 1887, which made transport easier. The boats have not completely disappeared, however, they are still used today but for regattas and tourist tours.
