Amongst my quest of finishing Kanwar Dhillon 's filmography, I came across Bindass 's #HallaBol. One of the roles/episodes of KD that I genuinely love the most. Kanwar is actually such a good actor that it made me really uncomfortable to watch this. It's amazing how he can mould himself into so many different characters & doesn't shy away from doing negative roles or taking up projects that are out of the box or out of the general realm of audience's perspective. Hats off to KD for portraying Varun so beautifully. I was genuinely afraid of that character. But what interests me most is how KD looks good in every shot!? KD has been brimming with talent since years and roles like these truly showcase his acting chops. I'm in awe.

Raavi thinks Shiva is not fighting for their relationship and that he gave up on her. What she doesn't know is that he's been fighting for far too long. He fought the world for her, he fought his family and took all the blame on himself, he let everyone say whatever shit they wanted to say to him, he let her think whatever she did because he wanted to give her space and let her have time to come to herself after the dreadful trauma of trying to commit suicide on the shaadi day. He respected her enough to let tell her "darr mat. Ladne nahi aya hu. Lad lad ke thak gayi hogi" but at the time she was too overwhelmed with everything and failed to see that he HAS been trying hard in this marriage- not just to save their relationship, but to SAVE HER. He never cared about what anyone said about him but he cares about what Raavi thinks about him. He DOESN'T have an inferiority complex 😒 He just sees himself as she did. She admits she did. They were never able to communicate their feelings to each other but it wasn't their fault. Not Shiva, not Raavi's. He fought the world, he fought her, he fought himself.. Shiva's been fighting for too long 😔 He's been strong for too long 😔💔 And now he is breaking. He is already broken. Despite being broken, he's trying to pick up the shattered pieces of his heart and try to change himself into someone he thinks she would prefer, FOR HER. Not for himself, but for her. Not because he wants her to take him back. He thinks he doesn't deserve that. He thinks she doesn't want that. But simply because for once.. Just once.. Shiva feels unworthy of Raavi so he ponders over becoming someone she would like. He remembers her happy face when she was meeting her friend and checking out his hoodie and he remembers Sneha's hurtful words. I don't know who needs to hear this *ahem* makers @shilpachoubay @sushilchoubay but SHIVA'S INSECURITIES ARE NOT HIS *OWN* FAULT. THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK. Look at the minute portrayal of emotions by @kanwardhillon_ 🥺🥺 When Shiva looks at the tees and jeans, when his eyes glance over the poster of the man in the suit, the way he hesitatingly grabs the black hoodie on display... The way his emotions change, the way he goes from sadness, to misery to frustration when the shopkeeper asks if he's here to shop for Dev or Krish. The way he resigns himself to a defeated pose when the shopkeeper talks about Raavi returning home and how she should see the change in Shiva. It's the subtleties and nuances in Kanwar's eyes, his expressions, his body language. The way he looks and feels small in front of the 'modern/sophisticated' styled clothes. In less than two minutes he conveyed everything Shiva is going through. It's not easy for everyone to understand Shiva because he is a complex and layered character and I don't think it would've been possible without KD because he brings more than the script commands to every scene, ever shot that he is in. He's such a phenomenal actor. June 9th. Happy Birthday Shiva 💖 I don't need to express how much this character means to me or how much I see myself in him. How I relate to him or how he makes me feel. Words will always fail to do justice to what Shiva is, to who he is to me-and many others I'm sure. But nevertheless Shiva want to take this moment to celebrate not just him but what he means to so many of us. I've heard first hand accounts of how this character, this fictional character has touched the lives of so many people, just as he has mine. And a huge part of that credit goes to @kanwardhillon_ and his beautiful portrayal of Shiva. Kanwar made Shiva real to us, made him tangible to us, made all his emotions, his struggles and his adversities real to us. It's not that hard to simply say that Shiva isn't real, but I know for sure that if he were, he'd be just as joyful, just as selfless and just as pure in the love and affection he gives and would give to each and every person he loves and cherishes. To all the people that connect with Shiva, Shiva would be grateful to have all of you. Something I've always believed is that "Love does not alter where it alteration finds" And if it does, it's not love. "Ye trophy meri nahi hai. Kisi aur ki hai. Jisne mujhpe mujhse zyada bharosa kiya, mere hunar pe bharosa kiya- meri chipkali" Shiva's resounding joy on giving the trophy to Raavi & Raavi's resounding joy on Shiva's win is nothing but a proof of their unconditional, selfless love. As always, Shiva thanks everybody-even Rishita. His idea for his presentation was the very representation of how selfless Shiva is. He wants to do the right thing & he wants to encourage others to do the same. He bows down on the stage, humble and in reverence of the platform that gave him the opportunity to prove himself. Yet again, Shiva Selfless Pandya remains constant. When it comes to Pandya Store, Shiva has faith in himself, just as he does in Raavi. I think another beautiful moment was when Shiva recalls his father "Mujhme base mere pita" I've waited for this for a really long time 🥺 Today, Shiva is getting his dues and he makes sure that Raavi gets hers too. "Shiva ki Shakti, mere jigar ka tukda, mera pyaar-Raavi. Thank you Raavi. I love you" What can be more beautiful than this? I just don't have words. It's beautiful. What a beautiful episode today! @kanwardhillon_ was absolutely amazing! KD stole the show today!! 😭💖 Shiva donates blood to Gombi despite Dhara saying Krish can do it. It seems they share O Negative blood. I know Gombi has become irredeemable for a lot of us after he physically beat up Shiva & all the other things he did, but this was a beautiful, almost surprising reminder of what Gautam means to Shiva. Remember Shiva views his Gombi as his Bholenath, his God, his father. After losing his actual father, Gautam was the only semblance of paternal love that Shiva had in his life. He means the world to him. Shiva recalls the memories from the Haveli where the brothers feed each other food. "Ek bottle to kya, Gombi ke liye 10 bottle bhi de dunga" Shiva, the kind of person who wears his heart on his sleeves, is always ready to do anything and everything for his family. Even if it means sacrificing everything he is and everything he has ever dreamt of. That is Shiva Pandya. A selfless, giving man. I just can't express in words how beautiful & great @kanwardhillon_ 's performance was! I almost felt my lip quiver! With both fear & courage, with great strength & resilience, Shiva shows up at the competition despite these grave circumstances. For a person like #ShivaPandya who has been ridiculed, mocked, insulted & humiliated all his life, having confidence/faith in himself is one of his biggest issues. It's a flaw that's not really a flaw but something that shapes his character- into one of strength, of resilience, & of strong, bold depth. Shiva's inability to believe himself is not just a mere "self esteem" issue, he does believe in himself. He believes in himself when he believes he is capable of doing something & That has been made possible only & only because of #RaaviPandya who has been his only constant support. He knows that. Despite that, his faith wavers when he questions himself. BECAUSE he questions himself. All his life people have told him he is incapable. Something that has been ingrained in him for 10+years. Ever since he lost his father, ever since he gave up his education for his brother- the only constant thing that has remained is Shiva's constant humiliation at the hands of others. That is slowly changing. With Raavi by his side. Because she believes in him. She has faith in him. But it is often that even when people believe in you, you are unable to believe in yourself. Raavi sees a side of Shiva that he has never seen in himself. Because how do you see something that you don't believe is there? Shiva- an otherwise strong, bold & confident man wavers when someone points at his inner insecurities. Today there are not where they were a year ago. All thanks to Raavi, but how do you wash away half a lifetime worth of insecurities in just a short while? Shiva's pain, anguish and his inner demons will only vanquish after someone continually reminds him of what he is capable of. That support, that constant is Raavi. His bhabhi may give him words of support, but they don't reach through to Shiva because he believes she is simply doting on him. He knows that with Raavi, he can be real.That she will tell it to him straight-the good, the bad, the ugly. This is the faith that Shiva has in Raavi. "PHENOMENAL KANWAR DHILLON" trending on Twitter with almost 30k tweets! This was entirely last minute and a genuine outpouring of love and appreciation for @kanwardhillon_ and his phenomenal performance today (& yesterday) We were completely blown away by how amazing KD was and all of us were equally devastated for all that Shiva is and has been going through. Something I find magical about this trend is that even people from other fandom's, those who don't usually watch the show and people who'd stopped watching the show for months watched Kanwar's performance in this much awaited Shiva's education track and decided to join us in the trend for appreciating KD. THAT'S the power that Kanwar holds. The power to move people through expression and through his craft. I am beyond amazed at how good KD is as Shiva. And I write this as I'm waiting for the ad to get over on StarPlus right now (7:47) so that I can see Shiva on screen. @kanwardhillon_ KD I don't know how to put this into words, but you are a phenomenal performer.
