RAAAAH. PERFECT finale. Got everything I wanted and more from this. Poor animation aside, thjs was amazing. Season 2 me now please 🙏🏾. One of my fave 2023/24 anime.

RIP Kamui, talked the biggest game just to get packed up lol. Ragna’s new light speed attack was dope, if only the animation could’ve been not even good, just decent for this fight it would’ve been so much better. Even then, still had some hype moments.

Almost felt a little bad for Kamui and Ultimatia there at the end. When Kamui launched his sword there at the end, I thought he meant killing Ragna would be how he protected Ultimatia from death, but making a literal shade for her to be protected from the sun in was actually powerful. In the end, he did fulfil his promise and paid her back for saving him. Such an interesting romantic dynamic with the two of them. With her bloodline gone, I wonder what the future will hold for Ultimatia.

STARLIA SURVIVED LETS GOOOO 😭 I knew they couldn’t kill off my baby like that. I’ll settle for the coma treatment. Long as she’s safe and sound, I know she’ll come to one day and make that sword for Ragna. The scene with all the dead Argentum corps looking over Starlia was so sweet man. There’s just two left that can actually fight, when you think back on how happy and rowdy everyone was like 8 episodes ago it feels awful. But they didn’t die in vain. Like Ragna said, no use feeling regret, would be disrespectful for those who sacrificed so much for victory.

1 bloodline down, 5 more to go. I love long ass adventure stories like this. If this is just the first bloodline, I can’t imagine who else is out there and how strong they’ll be, and then of course the dragon God himself. Still haven’t seen Leo again either or got answers about Crimson’s past. When you think about it. In 24 episodes we really on scratched the surface of this world which is telling you something! Will be moving onto the manga no doubt.

ok ok so I meant to finish this the same day u responded but I passed out on top of my computer B4 I could and then i woke up amd immediately left for work. so now here I am 1am the next day trying to finish lol. this turned out being more of a reaction than I anticipated but thats ok there's still the rest that i'm gonna go over heehee

So im gonna rewind back to ch1 right where Dee materialized into the prison dimension.

This:

"It was like the first time Leo did stitches, but magnified by one million and all over his body. His limbs are still flickering as he gasps in the air that he’d momentarily spent an eternity without, fingers clawing into the rock under his fingertips to stop his swaying body from tilting over.."

And this:

"His eyes sting, lightning pains traveling down limbs as the bones form back before his eyes. He wants to pass out. He wants his brothers to appear out of nowhere to catch him when he falls, letting him loosen his grip on consciousness so he doesn’t have to feel or see the way red muscle is covered by green skin."

RAAAAH ITS SO GOOOD!!

Bro it was so visceral and horrifying, the way u made Donnie AWARE of his flesh and bones mending together. And you made him feel it too?? No!! EVIL🫵 That was soo evil but I loved it!! I love horror!! This bit was so cool, I don't stumble upon a lot of horror in fics yk? There's not a lot thats made me recoil and sit there mouth agape. But this??! U totally nailed it!! Gah it makes me feel so conflicted cuz while I enjoyed this bit a lot , Dee was over there fighting for his life. Man cowabummer :// [The prison dimension looks like the stuff of nightmares. Dead ancient ruins and echoes r such a fun bit to play around with >:)) im excited to see how u interpret it]

Also him immediately wanting his brothers around and thinking about his dad hurt 😭 wtf

"..So unless it’s a mechanical sun coming apart, he’s pretty sure that he’s witnessing the blast of some kind of nuclear alien weaponry. It’s absolutely gorgeous and insanely brutal and he lifts his t-phone to snap a picture..."

Sksskk this made me giggle out of my previous horror shock. Dee just went thru the most traumatic event of his life so far and witnessing an explosion comparable to a nuclear bomb and his 1st instinct is to take a pic. Lmao. He probably did it for info reasons or sumthn but it reminded me of the human instinct to whip out their phones and record anything out of the norm. (Truly a turtle of culture lol)

"It stalks towards the rock, lumbering steps swaying the body. It’s mouth doesn’t move but he can hear the bare inflictions of a voice from where he is, fist raised before it’s slammed down. He slows, momentarily, as he wonders why the creature is taunting the rock..."

(such a curious lil guy, most wouldve hightailed it out of there already instead of going, hmm 🤔why's that alien behemoth over there beating up a rock for? sksk)

"...The blue mask catches his attention and he changes direction without realizing"

😭😭😭 just by this alone I know I'm not walking out of this unscathed. Brotherly love is going to end me I can feel it

Donnie doesn’t know what’s going on, but he doesn’t think anything is worth that kind of abuse

The admittedly intimating creature only seems to get bigger as Donnie gets closer, so he comes to a stop a fair distance away when it bellows, “WHO DARES-!?” It whirls, locking its gaze on him, and he waves.

He waves😭 he waves goodness I can picture it so clearly. Don't wave at the highly volatile threat. why is he like this?

“Um.” Donnie doesn’t know how to answer that. He climbed a ledge? There wasn’t exactly a fence keeping him out. “Like it’s hard?”

The turtle squints at him and the creature looks supremely ticked off.

IS. IS. I choked on my drink when I read that. The others reactions were so vivid too LMAO. Thank u for including that, it was hilarious.

Ok ok now the fight between krang prime and Dee was awesome. Yeah it's a a miracle he's still standing and yeah he got his shell handed to him twice over and he was literally about to die again BUT!

The fact that he was able to hurt prime with nothing but a blade from his broken wooden bo and his sensei's advice echoing in his head is like actually so cool. And he was so sassy doing it too!! (Channeling his inner raph huh? I see what ur doing 👁️👁️)He's got no powers or knowledge of his surroundings or anything just his intellect and quick thinking and he still got a hit! Probably his only hit in close combat w/ prime ever but still yk what I mean right?? Wooh goo Dee!!

And this also made me realize that Donnie came back with everything except his mask. He had his phone, his gear, his bo, his grappling hook(this tool will be handy later) everything except his mask. The one thing that sets him apart from his brothers. That represents who he is besides his staff and big brain. Him. Donatello. Donnie. The turtle before anything else. The brother the son the friend before everything else. Before his inventions, before his skills before his sacrifices and accomplishments and failures. He is the boy who decided his favorite color was purple. Purple. That's him. That's Donnie.

And it was left behind :(( Against his will. Taken u could say.

He quite literally and figuratively lost a piece of himself behind when he died huh? I do wonder if he'll ever get it back (but even if he did there ain't no way he'll ever be the same OUGH ur evil)

(also this fact made the part where Leon gets ticked off and denies Dee being a Donnie feel more angsty and like bitter?? I'm not sure how to describe it But i will talk more about that later lol)

Anyways that's all I have rn. I will come back and continue with the rest of the chs later!! Gn muah muah

Um can I like, ask stuff about ur au here🥺? Well its more thinking out loud and putting a magnifying glass on several moments during ur fic than asking. Cuz asking means answering and I'm not about to make u do that unless u want to(I dont wanna be the reason u unload the whole lore yk lol) (and i also didn't want to like bug u too much either with my brainworms and excitement)

I would LOVE to have my AU under a magnifying glass! There are so many little things about my own AU that I go NUTS over and I would LOVE to hear what moments have caught your eye! You would NEVER bug me with your brain worms! (No one would!) I'm eager to see what about my AU is wiggling around in your brain!

And that means questions too! Ask away!

I may not answer all (or any) if it means too heavy spoilers, but I would be happy to have a chance to consider new elements that the outsiders are seeing and I am not. I love finding connections that I didn't even realize existed before that moment! Maybe I'll add in Easter eggs based on ideas that you guys have! (Maybe.)
