I just found out that (without R. L. Stine’s approval) Scholastic has been “Updating” the language in the Goosebumps books every so often to make it “relatable” to “today’s youth.” Sorry... Were the teens of today confused by terms like “CD Player” or “Mall”?

As far as I can recall R. L. Stine didn’t use offensive language.  Were the 90s THAT long ago that todays kids would be confused by 90s slang as written by a man who was in his fifties at the time?

Wouldn’t they want kids of today to learn how people spoke casually just a few decades ago?
