I've been thinking of a Warrior Nun Temeraire AU too!

It would fit easily because we could just give them all Longwings! But! At the same time! I also want them to have different dragons so maybe it's set maybe a few decades or more after the events of the Temeraire series and make it so that women are allowed to bond with other types of dragons too. And the other option is they are all part of a crew of one dragon captained by Shannon. In any case, Mother Superion is Admiral Superion.

And obvs Ava would bond with a hatchling ala Laurence-Temeraire. A very important hatchling that was meant for Lilith. And maybe the hatchling could have been laid by Shannon's dragon?

Now, that's the happier premise. The unhappier premise is Shannon died and her dragon, called Halo, is left so heartbroken and didn't want to bond with anybody else until Ava comes along.

My thoughts on Ava is that she starts working for the OCS as supposedly just part of the ground-based crew. She would really love to fly on a dragon but she can't because she can't walk! She's on a wheelchair. But then the very important dragon chooses her and will not agree to anyone else. And, once the rest have reconciled themselves to the fact that Ava will be the new dragon's captain, they (Jillian) construct mobility aids to make it easier for Ava to ride her dragon.

Oh, Bea would be one of the youngest dragon captains. She will def have a Longwing, I think (WDYT?). She rose through the ranks quickly because she's Bea, and maybe she got the dragon shortly before Ava came into the picture. Although OMG, what if she gets one of the Chinese dragons? Doesn't even have to be a Celestial. Maybe an Imperial?

Maybe they don't even have to be part of a British force as well, they could be like... international agents keeping peace around the world... if this AU is set after Laurence's time. So that way, they could be bonded to different dragons from all over the world. Okay, I am excited about this idea. Shannon could have an American dragon! Mary can be her lieutenant or whatever. Bea has an Imperial, or maybe even one of Temeraire's "kids" (which means she's from Britain with a Chinese-descent dragon) and Temeraire was like, I only want my kid to go to this one, I like her, she reminds me of Laurence (ya know, all rule-following and stiff and all that.)

Anyway, I will stop because I'm getting incoherent.

i really like the idea of all the girls having different dragons & being in one formation, because having more than two longwings working in close proximity wouldn’t work. either setting it after the events of temeraire or hand-waving the sexism thing due to intense need for dragon riders (or making a weird nun splinter-corps? could there be demon dragons!!!??)

i was thinking that ava would get some kind of firebreather. probably a Kazilik let’s be honest. Iskierka energy would suit ava so well. & i think shannon had one too called Halo for sure!! & they were lost recently - picture mary washing up with shannon’s body cradled in her arms - but left an egg behind, on the cusp of hatching. 

naturally lilith is next-in-line. comes from a long line of dragon-handlers, worked on shannon’s crew but was injured the night that her dragon went down over the channel. my thought is that after ava’s dragon rejects lilith she has a whole semi-granby thing with ava but they foil an attack on one of the hatcheries and she rescues a longwing egg, though it’s damaged, and she almost dies doing it. the dragon hatches & immediately latches onto lilith. just!! lil should have the biggest wings.

bea YES definitely has an imperial (or celestial) and she is extremely young for a dragon-handler, sent as part of a diplomatic exchange (ostensibly, but really her parents don’t want her after she almost destroys their reputation). she’s got this streak of recklessness, but she has a gorgeous silver and black dragon (names are going to be so interesting to come up with!) who is also still very young. probably max a year. there’s little cosmetic difference between celestials and imperials but i really think bea deserves a celestial because she should get to shout stuff to pieces. (omg with the idea of her dragon being tem’s baby. & tem like… that’s a good kid right there i can tell. ofc being mad when bea is sent away but also… go see the world. adore that concept.)

cam either rides a midweight or a courier dragon (or just a tactical lightweight like maybe the spanish Felcha-del-Fuego?) but also her having a little Levi and being actually adorable with him & looking slick as fuck in her high-altitude leathers. would also be cool. think of her flying dispatches out to the blockade where the formation is stationed & idk maybe her & lilith being…. ahem.

onto ava! yes, for sure she’s in a wheelchair, but with carbiners and the dragon harness she’s perfectly capable of being on a dragon-crew. she has mobility in her upper body, & has always loved dragons. because flying and freedom. i think her dream is to get a courier dragon or just to be on a crew fighting, & her parents were both dragon-handlers who died & left her behind, so the corps kind of adopt her. but when shan’s dragon goes down, she goes to watch Halo’s offspring hatch, to see lilith claim her birthright, but the dragon doesn’t want lil & goes to ava instead. 

i really like the idea that they’re international agents. demon dragons have kind of taken over my brain, b/c why not bring in a bit of the wn lore? mary is shan’s lieutenant, but becomes ava’s when she imprints with the baby Kazilik. bea is initially sceptical, & lilith is MAD, & basically nobody thinks that ava will be able to be a dragon-handler, but the Kazilik is so valuable they can’t afford to just… let it go feral, so they have to let ava try. so yes! with the way the harness is set up it’s supposed to be navigable, and rigging up something that benefits ava specifically is doable. 

the potency of a longwing, a celestial, and TWO fire-breathers, plus like the urge to give mary a regal copper, so they have one mega heavyweight in there. & bea being cold and afraid to get close to this literal firebrand of a girl gradually thawing. their dragons hanging out. bea and ava discussing formations and coming up (re: tem) with new way of doing things, clever strategies, espeically since maybe demon dragons are trickier/really big/really dangerous. getting closer and closer like in switzerland but some incredibly dangerous coalition of demons dragons showing up & ava wanting to spare bea and spare her own dragon and the drama! (don’t think of the vibe with ava and bea being kind of like the laurence/granby initial vibe. bea disapproving because ava rides recklessly and with abandon and these dragons are people to her & the brits are Not Great about it but then she sees how much ava cares and has her little ‘oh’ moment)

I previously avoided it because I don't have it in me to get invested in a show that sounds so up my alley to then face the "hehe cancelled with no resolution, creators & audiences can go fuck themselves" heartbreak (*cough cough teenage bounty hunters sense8 GLOW October faction first kill the get down the wilds everything sucks! santa clarita diet I am not okay with this, etc *cough cough*)

she wouldnt punch immediately, she knows she cant cause a scene for no reason, so she'd just act insanely unfriendly and scary the whole time and then if they actually try to like hold cam's hand or something and there's even a hint of discomfort on camila's face is when she goes full on "what do you think you're doing?!" grabbing them by the collar and push them stumbling back several feet (and maybe falling) and all

but yeah, imo no matter how brash she is, lilith knows she cant exactly just go around knocking people out only because they were weird/pushy/annoying (god knows she learnt that from experience) so she waits until the smallest thing that could be classified as a reason and then jumps at that

Tattoos/scars One visible scar on the cheek, multiple around her body which get glammed over. After endwalker, her right hand has a high concentration of scaring around the knuckles & palm (A consequence of her final fight in ultima thul and the proceeding surgery needed to reset the incorrectly healed bones.) Hey! So I had an idea and I was wondering if you would consider writing it. It's a Beatrice X Reader.

It's just after the final battle of season 1. Mary and Reader being the badasses they are fought together. Mary died. Reader didn't. It's around 6 months after( I don't really know the timeline) , anyway Adriel and his supports took Reader and basically toured her for info and anything they could use against the 'Warrior Nun' and being the person Reader never said anything, no matter how bad it got they kept their mouth shut. Eventually Adriel left, he knew R wouldn't speak but he found joy in keeping his supporters there (basement) where she was held so that they could continue hurting her. It's a day or two after Adriel left and word got out they something was important there but Ava , Beatrice , Camilla and whoever you want there didn't know what. When they get there they don't find anything and they are about to leave when they hear punches and shouts from a group of people. They go to the basement and they see 3 or 4 men kicking punching and slicing with a knife (if you want) against someone they can't really see because it's too dark (Reader could be strapped to a chair or hung from their wrists from the ceiling). A few seconds later, all of the men r down. They get closer Camilla turns in the lights and they see Reader. Shock. Gasps. (you know absolute shockkkk) they thought R died with Mary. Moving Reader to the amazing van they have. Reader is unconscious at this point. They tend to her wounds like loads of wounds- stab wounds-slice wounds-bruises and scars. R wakes up and has a heartfelt reunion and you can decide how that plays out. If this is uncomfortable for you, you don't have too right it, just an idea I had because I love myself an angst,love ending story!! :)

Not ProofRead, Off The Dome

Days bled into weeks, blurred into months as you hung from the ceiling. It was routine by now, wake up, get hung by the ceiling from your wrist, get tortured for information, get unhooked, and then repeat it all the next day. Sometime you wish you had taken Mary's place or been by her side as you bled out together instead of being forced to watch as the life drained from her eyes. The first days of your torture hadn't been that bad by standards. You were hit a few times, pushed around but nothing seriously damaging. Until the big bad, Adriel, paid a visit to get information out of you. Knives, tasers, even a few well placed gun shots were used almost everyday. Your hands were numb and blue by the time you were taken down from the ceiling and you were healed as much as possible each night. It was always the same set of questions, "Where is the Warrior Nun hiding? What is her weakness? How long will it take for her to come for you?"

You never answered any of the questions, you barely spoke and if you did it would be something along the lines of a fuck you or just straight up calling Adriel a bitch. In your head though, you were begging for either freedom in the form of escape or death. You had lost hope that your friends would come for you or that they even knew you were alive. Even after a while the thought of Beatrice coming to rescue you dwindled away. You hadn't seen Adriel in a few days, so you figured he left, but the beatings and torture stayed almost consistent. Clearly, Adriel had left specific instructions on how to handle you this time rather than just leaving it up to the Firstborn Children.

Beatrice sat in the back of the slightly sexual puff pastry truck as Yasmine drove them all to a secret building they had uncovered by getting information from a member of the Firstborn Children. She stared at a small photograph of the two of you from your first anniversary, almost five years ago. Beatrice wishes that she could go back in time and relive those years all over again. She'd make sure to hold onto you tighter, spend all her time with you, maybe she'd even ask you to marry her, just to spend a few years in complete bliss. But now you were gone and Beatrice felt cold and alone. She wasn't alone in a literal sense, Ava sitting next to her, Camila across, and Mother Superion and Yasmin in the passenger and driver seat but in her heart. She always felt this constant coldness that couldn't be taken away with a cozy blanket or hot chocolate, the only time it ever felt warm was when she was asleep and dreaming of you or reliving memories. Only to wake up the next day, cold. Beatrice had always been the one to think through things and go into fights logically but if this building was as important to Adriel as the Firstborn Children said, she wanted to to tear it apart and burn it to the ground.

Beatrice was pissed, this whole excursion had felt like a waste of time. Not only was the building huge, it looked and felt abandoned. There were no secrets in this building, the Firstborn Children must've just used this as a distraction. Camila could feel the frustration rolling off of Beatrice and she felt terrible for the older girl. It was clear how much everything had taken a toll on her. It was clear from the beginning that Beatrice, Mary, Shannon, Lilith and you had been the unofficial Warrior Nun dream team. But now you, Shannon, and Mary were dead and Lilith had disappeared. Beatrice was the last one standing and even Camila could see she barely was.

They were about to give up their search of the building when Camila hears a faint noise coming from down the hall. She peeks her head out of the room they all stood in and she could see a faint, barely there, glow of light. "Guys!" She whispered to her fellow nuns and gestured towards the door and the light. All of her friends tensed and instantly got into a formation as they made their way down the hall. Coming up to the door it was slightly left open, allowing Beatrice to see into the room. "They're torturing someone, this must be why this building is so important... I see nine people in total. Ready?" Beatrice asks, not really waiting for an answer as she kicks down the door and enters the room, cutting out the lights so the men were more confuse and unable to see.

"I think that's all of them." Ava says as she catches her breath. All the men they fought were uncharacteristically big and bulky, which Beatrice had failed to mention. "All right, let's see who all this fuss is about." Ava says as she moves in front of your body, Beatrice and Camila were standing by the door keeping look out. "Beatrice hit the lights please... Thank-" As soon as Beatrice flips the switch, Ava's heart stops. There you were. Head hung, hands slightly blue, blood dripping from one of your many injuries onto the floor but alive. "Camila help me quick!" Ava yells as she grabs a chair in the corner of the room so she can get you untied from the rope. "What? Who is-" Camila lets out an audible gasp as you come into view. She helps Ava untangle you and lower you to the floor. "Beatrice cover our front and Yasmin help us get them out of here!" Ava commands, she couldn't let Beatrice see you till they were out of the building. She knew Beatrice would freeze and that's not something they could afford right now.

"Are they okay?" Beatrice asks now that they are comfortable back in the truck and on the road. Ava and Camila share a look, how do they explain who they found. Yasmin just looks a little confused at the two's silence. Ava nods her head towards Camila who returns the nod in understand. She gets up and walks to the front of the truck. "Beatrice, I need you to look at me." Beatrice turns towards Camila with a confused look, why was she being so serious? "You have the most knowledge on medicine, which is why I am begging you to not let feelings get in the way for right now. Once we get to out hideout you can feel whatever you need to feel but I am begging you right now to let logic and reason take over." Beatrice stands, well as much as she could in the truck as she swaps places with Camila, scared to know why she said that. But the second she see your face, it takes everything in her to not fall to her knees and cry and beg for you to wake up. Her mouth feels dry as she swallows and pushes everything to the back of her mind, this was you. She thought you were dead but now you're not and she wasn't going to let you bleed out and be taken from her again.

You feel warm as you wake up, which was concerning. You could feel the blanket laid across you and the soft bed and pillow under you as you opened your eyes. Sun was streaming through a window and into the room and you were sure you were dead. You finally gain the strength to sit up and you can feel all the aches and pains and the tightly wrapped bandages that cover your body. Ok, maybe you weren't dead but you were highly confused. You shakily get out of bed and look at the clothes that were put on you. Normal things, pants, a shirt, socks, nothing crazy but what did get you to freeze was the scent coming off the clothes. You hold the hem of the shirt up to your face and you can feel your eyes watering, it smells like Beatrice, it smells like home. With a newfound vigor, you walk as fast as you can from the room, ignoring the way you have to favor your right leg. You could here conversations and laughs the farther into the house you get and the more excited you feel.

Could this be a new way of torture created by Adriel so that your dreams were no longer safe? Yes. Did you care in that moment? No. You reach a large set of double doors, the only thing left blocking you from, who you hope is real, Beatrice. You take a deep breath as you attempt to fix your shirt and hair, like Beatrice hasn't seen you at your worst and open the door. The silence to your arrival was daunting, luckily almost everyone looked familiar and grew smiles on their faces at the sight of you. But the person you were mainly concerned for looked like she could cry, "Bea." You let out breathlessly as you feel all the hope you had lost return to you instantaneously. You take one step into the room before Bea is closing the distance and pulling you into her arms, mindful of your injuries. "Is this real? Please tell me this is real." You say to her over and over again as you cry into her shoulder. She pulls back from the hug to take you face into her hands. "This is real, I promise. And I am never letting you out of my sight again." You can see the way Beatrice's eyes look at you like your the most important thing in the world and you know that your not dreaming and you know she will stick to that vow. "Good." Is all you can say as you lean forwards for a kiss and thank any and every high-power that there is that you were back in Beatrice's arms.

Set immediately at the end of CA:TWS, Bucky's scrambled brain does a hard reset and decides his new mission is to protect Steve, covertly. Meanwhile, he kinda gets adopted by the senior citizens that live in the shitty apartment building he's crashing in while he learns how to be person again. It's snarky AF, touching, funny, great action, fluffy domestic Avengers Tower stuff. There's some Stucky eventually, but it's not the primary focus and doesn't really show up until like the 5th story in the series. There are 7 stories, and a Q&A with the author.

OUaT - The Secret's in the Telling by @the-pyrophoric-one

Emma is being pranked by a thief while living in the mansion with Regina and Henry, and there's also magic fuckery afoot. This story is just neat. It's tightly-plotted and funny. I can't actually say too much because the whole point is that there's a mystery to solve and I'd hate to spoil it. Even when I had kinda figured out what was going on, I still had no idea how it would end. It's told from two different POVs, so it's fun to reread the first part once you know the ending. Apparently there's also a sequel, but I don't believe I've read it yet.

R&I - Calamity Jane Meets Dr. Isles, Medicine Woman by @jobethdalloway

Rizzles 1800s western AU. Maura is a fancy lady from Boston who moves west to live with her fiancé Garrett Fairfield, Jane wears pants, drinks whiskey, and roams the countryside as Jake Wyatt, an outlaw who's hunting for Charles Hoyt, the man who killed her parents. The immersion in this AU is stunning, the characters feel true to the originals while allowing for how things would change given the time and circumstances, and the buildup from their unconventional meeting to friends to more is a lovely and authentic slow burn. There's also a completed sequel, but it's still on my to-read list.

Lexa gets shot and dies, Clarke climbs to the roof of the building, gets hit by weird lightning, then suddenly she's back on The Ark, about to be sent down to Earth with 99 other teen prisoners, and no one remembers the events of the past year besides her. The ultimate fix-it fic. How do you fix your mistakes while still trying to keep the good things that happened? Balancing future knowledge with ripple effects, how much can you change before you don't know what's going to happen anymore? What do you do with a second chance? I think I've read this fic at least half a dozen times.

Avatrice actress AU. Ava is an unknown actress working as a bartender, Bea is a famous but reclusive actress making a comeback after several years away from the spotlight, and they get cast together in a sapphic love story. You ever read a story and go "JFC, will you two just talk to each other?" Yeah, the reason is because all of the healthy communication got requisitioned for this fic. It's incredibly wholesome and overwhelmingly romantic and also ridiculously hot. Like, prep a cold shower or make sure you're somewhere private when you read it. There's a regularly-updated WiP sequel.

It´s unfair that many good shows with good representation (like Willow and Paper Girls) are cancelled but somehow bad shows with problematic actors have ALL the opportunities. I´f you want good representation keep watching Deadloch, The Sandman, The Last of US, Our Flag Means Death, Good Omens, etc. but Warrior Nun is not the answer, this show sucks and the main actress is r*acist and unhinged spoiled rich girl, she doesn´t deserve to win.

Adriel from Warrior Nun is such a great example of the traditional Antichrist image in media.

Adriel has similarities to both the Antichrist and Satan, really. For example, he was imprisoned for a thousand years. If I remember correctly, in the traditional Christian timeline, Satan is imprisoned for a thousand years, then released, the Earth experiences a period of Tribulation, after which comes the whole Eschaton. Adriel was imprisoned for a thousand years. Tribulation is supposed to last for seven years I think, but the Antichrist apparently rules for three and a half (according to Revelation). In Warrior Nun, Adriel "reigns" for two months, but who knows, William Miller was so active in the efforts to save the show, maybe he'll return for season 3 (#warriornunsaved). We can only hope. Besides, Adriel's girlfriend's name is Lilith...

Now, let's start from the obvious. The Mark of the Beast. The ironic part - the Mark is a cross (eh, still, "Six six six, Number of the Beast" sounds better than "Spiked Cross, Symbol of the Beast", or something like that). Adriel's followers have it tattooed (be it not necessarily on the forehead, or the right hand). The show didn't portray it as needed for things like buying and selling (Rev. 13:18), it's more symbolic. But, Adriel is merciless to opposition, he tortures them, intimidates them, kills them, and, his weird burning light scorches them. Very on-point for the Antichrist.

"The Beast" in Rev. has seven heads and ten horns. I haven't noticed a nod to it (let me know if anyone else did), nor to leopards, but one of the heads is supposed to have a healed mortal wound, which makes people hail the Beast. Adriel literally receives a head wound that heals in Season 1 finale. And, he gets stabbed in the neck in S2. On live TV. And heals. Then laughs like a crazy person. The whole "who could compare to the Beast" is true in the show - people literally have posters saying "Only Adriel can save you". Like Kristian said, he's here. He's not an idea, he's not distant. He's living and breathing, and among people.

The Second Beast, or the False Prophet, I think is Kristian. The False Prophet is essentially The Antichrist's PR angent, which is a good way to describe Kristian. He helps Adriel perform his false miracles, he does his best to convert people (most notably Jillian and Duretti). Also, Kristian is a former clergyman who lost his faith in pursuit of "truth". Very fitting.

Rev. makes it clear that the Beast comes before the Great Battle. Lilith mentions there's a "Holy War" coming. Adriel was doing his best to stop it. That's all I need to say.

The Antichrist is supposed to blaspheme against God. If Reya is "God", Adriel certainly does that. But... Is she? I have my suspicions about her. I wouldn't be surprised if she were the Dragon instead, Adriel being her "Beast with Wrath", who maybe rebelled against her. She is a being of Light (Lucifer...), her servants are suspiciously demonic. Still... Would Adriel identify with Satan, then? The "Devourer of Worlds" he spoke of coud be someone else entirely.

V. Soloviov describes the Antichrist as someone with plans to bring great things to mankind, someone who would inspire peace, not war. That's literally Adriel. Adriel also doesn't "deny God" - he either seeks to be superior, or portrays himself as the Messiah for his own gains. Adriel is extremely intelligent, charming, powerful, and extremely prideful (not to mention attractive). He doesn't exactly become the President of Europe, neither the Emperor of Rome, but people for sure do give him the highest of honours (it's a shame the show didn't pay too much attention to his political influence; he's a born politician, he's so Machiavellian). Adriel seeks to take over the Church. He offers great gifts to Religions (I assume not only Catholicism, but others too; he focuses so much of Catholicism because of it's power, as well as a personal vendetta) if they cooperate with him. He demands to be recognized as the true Lord and Savior, and he wants to erase Christ. Duretti refuses, so he's killed with the whole World as the witness. I'm sure if the season were longer, Kristian would have become the Pope (he reminds me so much of Apollonius, even though Apollonius is obviously meant to be Rasputin; when you compare Soloviov's work to historical context (Russian Empire), the allegories are clear - people often write what they know after all, and philosophers criticise their own society). Adriel scorns the notion of "higher life", wants to create "Heaven on Earth". He literally asks " What about this World?" The Opposition isn't banished to the desert in a literal sense, but is small, and has to go into hiding, however briefly.

That being said, shame on Duretti. How hard was it to shout "Children, Antichrist!" while pointing at Adriel?.. Would have been more impactful than a dusty Bible verse.

According to Soloviov, the Antichrist builds a cathedral to unite all cults. That, I need not comment on. Like the Antichrist, Adriel writes his own Bible. Shame we never learn more about it.

Soloviov describes the Antichrist's followers as a "nameless crowd". The FBC, and Adriel's followers, match such a description. That being said, they have a great taste for uniforms. He also mentions how the Antichrist's miracles only appear supernatural to people. Use of ArqTech, anyone?.. Besides, it can also be true because Adriel isn't a biblical entity, he only pretends to be one.

Lithuanian author A. D. Jakštas described the Antichrist as becoming incredibly cruel to opposition once masses follow him. It isn't portrayed too widely in the show, but implied pretty heavily, and in more ways than a burning light from the sky. I had to mention one of my own at least once, and without a comparison of the Antichrist to Soviet Russia or bolsheviks. I know why people did so (especially when Christianity functioned as an important part of cultural resistance), but still, it's incredibly hurtful to me personally, to see a concept I admire (the Antichrist) compared to something I despise.

I guess one could wonder if the show's creators knew about such views, given Adriel said something about power being shared by everyone, not hoarded by gods, but at the same time, his actions reflected the hypocrisy of... certain regimes and so-called philosophies. I wouldn't be surprised. They clearly knew what they were doing. Was I upset about it, being a fan of Adriel? Of course. But artists do what they want. I always say that, I must stand by that. Oh, and I'd rather not have arguments about politics with anyone. We're here for Warrior Nun, not that.

R. H. Benson describes a leader who rises above all nations of the world, and who has an incredible ability to manipulate people's minds and lives. That's Adriel. The world flourishss in regards to science and culture. That can be said about the Warrior Nun Universe. The author identifies the Antichrist with the Freemasons. That isn't reflected in the show. But, the show does portray a conflict of Christianity and other movements - both with Adriel, and with ArqTech.

Like R. H. Benson describes, Adriel is talked about by everyone (social media...), many have a good opinion of him even before meeting him. He's charismatic, knows a lot of languages, can be described as an erudite (why does he have a bunch of books in piles on his porch, I'm not sure, but he deserves a Supernanny finger wag for it... At least.) There isn't an episode of like... All countries signing a peace treaty, but it's something I think Adriel would have them do. Again, I think he deserved more screen time. The effect he, and his cult, had on society, deserved more screentime. We only see his followers chanting his name. What other forms of worship does FBC practice? What are their main philosophical and theological dogmas? How to they reflect in daily life? What is written in Adriel's Bible? And so much more.

Adriel obviously idolizes peace, as I've mentioned already. A direct quote from him: "Hasn't humanity suffered enough?" I think that could be from Benson. He creates a new religion. I'm sure Adrielism has it's own ceremonies, feast days... So much potential. Of course, it's new, and it needs better liturgy. A proper hymn or two. Adriel, honey, come on... You had a thousand years. "Ave Adriel, Salvatore Mundi..."? Or something?

Adriel calls himself the Savior. I think the only reason why the show's creatos may not have had him call himself the Alpha and the Omega (the Beginning and the End), is because they are in touch with fandom culture... We all know how these beautiful Greek words have been desecrated in our demented world. We all know... If you don't, I beg you, stat innocent. Stay sane.

Adriel does not desecrate religious sites. But maybe his followers do. I wouldn't put it past FBC, running around the streets with bats. Cultists will be cultists.

I think WN takes place in current times (2000 20's). So, first half of the 21st century. According to many, that's when the Antichrist is supposed to show up. I'm not Ava. I will not make any jokes about the current state of the world.

Adriel certainly imitates Christ enough. His Messiah Classic fashion (which he looks rather attractive in), walking on water... Don't you, Mr. Walks Barefoot In Dead Insect Fountain Water Soup?.. And, not only imitates. He inverts. He builds an inverted temple.

Like the Antichrist according to Spirago, Adriel lets people live how they wish, do what they want (the scene in S2E1 illustrates it well - the one where Vincent "brings a lady home"). Spirago says that the Antichrist will have an easy time fighting Christianity because of godlessness in the world. I think, Adriel has an easy time for other reasons - Christianity has been used in many horrible crimes, and he has many good arguments, even though his "I ask for nothing" isn't exactly true.

The Pope defends the faithful (according to many authors). Which Duretti does, despite all his machinations. I saw some say he cared only for his own power, but I doubt it. Did he care for his own power? Yes. But did he also sincerely saw a threat to everyone in Adriel, and wanted to help others by exposing him? Also yes.

Can the OCS be seen as the religious order opposing the Antichrist spoken of by some?.. I's say so. They are his main adversaries. His main capable adversaries. Despite the irony of him helping create the Order. Now as I mention it, was Areala supposed to be the original Second Beast? Maybe. The only theory I really entertain about the early OCS, is that Adriel was really in love with Areala, and she with him, but she saw him for the... Beast he was, so she sacrificed herself, and her heart, for everyone else. Parallels with The Omen III, huh?..

Adriel has a whole army (FBC), even though his Capital is Madrid, not Babylon. Adriel talks about the tendency of people to worship money, in spite of avoiding the strategy in favor of terror. He doesn't raise the dead (Ava does...), or heal the sick, but he talks about it. His followers being possessed also reminds me of something. I don't remember who said it, yet apparently, the people the Antichrist resurrects are supposed to be devils in disguise.

The moments ifn the show of various screens showing Adriel's broadcast... That screamed Antichrist. And him killing the Pope. Everyone talks about the shot of Vincent putting the Crown on Ava. For me, it's Adriel striking Duretti. That scene makes my heart skip a beat, it's so beautiful. So meaningful.

I didn't go as in-depth as I thought I would, directly mentioned only a few authors... I'm afraid I could talk about this for days. I love to talk about this. Warrior Nun, and the Antichrist. Write me if you noticed something I missed! I apologize for any mistakes I left, and the... Personal bit. But hey... Everything is personal interpretation. Honestly though, I do have to disagree with a couple of your points. Just because something doesn't directly benefit lesbians doesn't mean it shouldn't be supported. We are the lgbtq+ community and a win for queer rep is a win for queer people and we should be supporting other parts of our community.

Second of all, the idea that girls/women/female fans who like byler are only "craving male attention" not only perpetuates the idea that the only reason women do things is for men, but also that women only do things out of a sexual interest, which obviously just isn't true. There are a myriad of reasons why women, sapphic and straight, engage with mlm stories, whether that is due to relating to the story, just enjoying the story, or yeah, due to "craving male attention" but my point is that it's not the only reason why and shouldn't be presented as such.

Elmax was only ever going to be a friendship and although I love reading it in fics, both El and Max needed a female friend after spending so long on their male friends and romance arcs. Stranger Things will always be a friendship show more than a romance show and I am always of the belief that female friendships are super important, especially for girls and women. Max was right when she said that El needed someone in her life other than Mike or Hopper. El honestly needs a break from romance arcs so I'm hoping that she'll be single for the majority of s5. The importance of female friendship is also the reason why I believe that Robin and Nancy's friendship is going to play a part as Robin is Nancy's first female friend since Barb and grief doesn't necessarily stop with closure and/or a funeral.

I do agree with you on the basis that there needs to be more wlw shows and movies. Although there has been the recent win of the renewal of Warrior Nun, so many wlw series are getting cancelled after the first season or just not getting made at all. It's honestly very frustrating because something I love about TV shows over movies is the fact that there's so much more content and more room for growth in both characters and relationships and at this point I get most of my wlw content from books (if anyone wants recs I am happy to give them!!). That means that if they get cancelled after 1 season then I, and I'm sure so many other people, just don't care as much as we aren't as attached to the characters.

There are so many reasons why this happens I'm sure, due to misogyny, lesbophobia and the falsely perceived idea that people don't want wlw media (for whatever reason). I honestly do think the reason is a mix of all these.
