That’s what Luthor’s do? Part 1

I can’t get rid of this idea so here’s some random shit nobody asked for. Lena Luthor’s sister is dating Kara, Sam’s the Luthor’s best friend and they’re doing everything to help her. Set last weeks episode flowing through into the next. I DON’T OWN ANY DC CHARACTERS.

The screen was starting to get blurry- the numbers were too much, the clock struck 11pm and there had still been no word from Lena.

Deciding to give up you made your way down to the group floor, making your way over to the service elevator. The doors opened to reveal Lena, hunched over a desk, tear tracks and messy mascara stained to her cheeks, her entire demeanor screamed exhausted.

Your sister had been through hell and back trying to save Sam whilst you ran L-Corp and ‘looked over CatCo’. You glanced over at Sam, or at least what’s left of her. She was broken, scared and lost, your heart broke for your friend. You loved Sam with everything in you- it killed you knowing you had to take Ruby to Metropolis away from her Mom.

“You’re so like your sister, y’know that?” Her voice was broken with emotion but yet that million dollar smile still sat on her face.

“Hey, are you hungry? I can get you something if you want?” A small smile spread across her face.

“I’m okay Y/n really. Lena is at my beck and call all the time I just want a normal conversation that doesn’t involve the fact I’m a villainous alien.” Grabbing a chair, you sat facing her, returning the smile. “I’ve always got time for you Sam you know that.”

Sam had been a major part of your life, she was your best friend- you stayed with her when you and Lena fought, any time you failed in college and didn’t want Lena to find out Sam always had an open door and a cup of coffee for you. The Arias’ were family without a doubt. The two of you struck up a conversation whilst Lena napped at her desk, “How’s things with you and James by the way? Lena’s been kind of giving him the cold shoulder since she started studying me.” You shook your head, giggling lightly.

“I don’t like him he gives me a weird vibe- like he’s hiding something. He’s a total show off, did I tell you about the time I moved his dumbbells when Lena was talking me through the workings of CatCo, he watched us from a distance- then came in, with his shirt off and started lifting. Like who does that? Ugh, men.” For the first time in a week, you heard Sam laugh.

“Oh believe me I know, he came over to L-Corp before Kara’s Christmas party, it must’ve been his day off or something- anyways he came in with just a vest on, flexing like he was Hercules and then tried to flirt with Jess. She wasn’t having any of it, I interrupted and asked what he was doing.” Laughing at the memory she continued, “He then started to check me out and flirt with me just to get in to see Lena. I don’t understand it kiddo.” You couldn’t help laughing.

“See that’s one reason to not like him.” Lena’s laugh echoed through the lab, her arms wrapped around your shoulders, “Have you considered that maybe you’re just being protective and trying to keep me from getting hurt?” She pressed a kiss to the side of your head, grabbing her tablet she turned off the barrier. “Can you blame her for wanting to make sure her big sister is happy Lee? You remember all the girlfriends Y/n brought home that you didn’t like for nearly the same reasons?”

A smirk graced your face- Sam had your back in this and that was a rare thing, you were smart obviously, you’re a Luthor after all. Lena practically taught you everything you knew but you also had a bit of a ballsy side, getting into trouble just because you could. It’s why Lilian cut you off and wanted nothing to do with you.

“Exactly Lee! I mean you still think Kara’s going to hurt me in some way but she’s your best friend and we’ve been together for 5 months now and I haven’t cried once!” You watched as your sister and Sam laughed at you being right, eventually, Lena agreed to what you were saying. “Sam get some rest we have a long day tomorrow.”

You had been in meetings all day. To say you were exhausted was an understatement, Lena was still coming up short in progress but she had been slaving away for weeks. You covered everything for her though and she couldn’t have been prouder of how much you’ve stepped up to help. You were making your way over to CatCo to have a quick progress meeting with the top reporters and James. If you could avoid being in the same room as James you would but Kara would be there to help you get through. Not that the plan went ahead you got a call from Kara. You smiled at her goofy photo before you could say anything a sob broke through the speaker.

“Kara? Baby are you okay?” Panic washed over you.

“A-Alex, she’s sick. She’s r-really sick.”

“Baby I need you to take a deep breath in for me okay? Lena and I will work on it I promise, she’s strong Kar, she’ll pull through.” Kara’s hiccups were all that could be heard.

She breathed out a small “She will.”

“Of course she will baby girl. She’ll be okay.”

“Y/n? I gotta go something’s came up with Alex’s condition, I’ll call you later.”

“Okay babe, give her my best! I love you, Kar.”

“Love you too.”

It broke your heart hearing your girlfriend like that, you knew how much Alex meant to Kara, their relationship was everything Kara held dear. It why you both got on so well, Lena was everything to you just like Alex was to Kara. Wiping away your tears you decided that you’d look at Lena’s research.

Your phone buzzed with a message from Lena. just as you hung up the call with Kara, and walked through the elevator.

“Lee, where are we on a cure? Alex got sick and she’s bad- Kara’s a mess! There have been breakouts all across the city.” She pulled you over to the screen.

“Y/n! Yes!” pulling you into her arms she continued, “I’ve been electrocuting Sam to bring Reign out and I think this could be the thing we’re looking for.” She started showing you the DNA sample.

“It definitely looks like it could be- does it match all of her other tests? Can we come up with a cure?”, Lena flashed that award-winning smile, the glint of hope in her eyes returned.

“I think so I just need your help crunching the numbers.” You jumped at it as soon as she finished, carefully you started going through all the data she collected. “The Luthors saving the day once again.” Casting your eye over in Sam’s direction you watched her carefully, she didn’t look right, she sat straight almost like she was meditating, quietly mumbling to herself.

Meanwhile, Kara had her hands full at the DEO, her head was spinning a million miles an hour. She was trying to work out how to get through to the Worldkillers, she wanted to make Alex feel better since she was still on bedrest, replaying her conversation with Imra. Selfishly wanted to be with you, just to take her anxiety away from everything.

Being a hero was a lot of hard work, it took a lot out of her especially hiding it from you and Lena. She hated keeping secrets from you but she knew everyone would flip if she told either of you. A matter of time and you’ll work it out- you’re one of the smartest people she knew next to your sister of course and Alex.

Walking back over to the command center, Winn started to give her the rundown. “We’re getting a hit.” She followed the energy signals, Winn cut in before she could “They’re heading to L-Corp.”

Fear struck Kara, “Y/n and Lena are there we need to go now!” She ran her hand through her hair to calm her nerves. All sorts of thoughts were running through her mind- her best friend and girlfriend were in danger and she’d be damned if she let anything happen to either of you. With Mon-El, Imra and J’onn joining her she felt like she’d be ready for just about anything- all measures to keep you safe were taken, she wouldn’t let you down.

Sam’s voice pulled you and Lena from your intense conversation. “They’re coming.” Confusion took over Lena’s face, “Who’s coming?” Just before you could ask a burst of red light appeared in the lab, turning you found Supergirl, Kara’s ex, the Director of the DEO and a woman you didn’t know.

“Supergirl?” The blonde looked relieved to see you- it looked all too familiar. “Lena, Y/n the Worldkillers are on their way here and we need to get you somewhere...safe.” She turned to Sam, stepping closer to the barrier. You’ve never seen Supergirl stiffen so quickly. “What is this?” Sharing a look with your sister, she nodded answering for you both. “We were gonna tell you..”

“Tell me what?” As much as you should’ve answered the Kryptonian you couldn’t help but notice the frustration on her face- the frown was familiar and the nose crinkle you knew you had seen it somewhere but you just couldn’t place it. Before Lena could answer Sam stood up, you reached out for the tablet and hit the settings to ensure your safety. Kryptonite was ready to be injected into Sam’s body, you pulled Lena behind you.

“Tell you about me.” You hit the button that injected Kryptonite into Reign. The doors burst open revealing two other woman- the other Worldkillers, Lena grabbed your hand as Supergirl stood in front of you both ready to fight. It didn’t go down well. You don’t remember much other than seeing a blue light flash and being thrown against a table.

History

Origins

The word comes from Renaissance Latin gnomus, which first appears in the Ex Libro de Nymphis, Sylvanis, Pygmaeis, Salamandris et Gigantibus, etc by Paracelsus, published posthumously in Nysa in 1566 (and again in the Johannes Huser edition of 1589–1591 from an autograph by Paracelsus).

The term may be an original invention of Paracelsus, possibly deriving the term from Latin gēnomos (itself representing a Greek γη-νομος, literally "earth-dweller"). In this case, the omission of the ē is, as the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) calls it, a blunder. Paracelsus uses Gnomi as a synonym of Pygmæi and classifies them as earth elementals. He describes them as two spans high, very reluctant to interact with humans, and able to move through solid earth as easily as humans move through air. The chthonic, or earth-dwelling, spirit has precedents in numerous ancient and medieval mythologies, often guarding mines and precious underground treasures, notably in the Germanic dwarfs and the Greek Chalybes, Telchines or Dactyls.

In Romanticism and modern fairy tales

The English word is attested from the early 18th century. Gnomes are used in Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock". The creatures from this mock-epic are small, celestial creatures which were prudish women in their past lives, and now spend all of eternity looking out for prudish women (in parallel to the guardian angels in Catholic belief). Other uses of the term gnome remain obscure until the early 19th century, when it is taken up by authors of Romanticist collections of fairy tales and becomes mostly synonymous with the older word goblin.

Pope's stated source, the French satire (by Nicolas-Pierre-Henri de Montfaucon de Villars, the abbot of Villars) Comte de Gabalis (1670) describes gnomes as such:

"The Earth is filled almost to the Center with Gnomes or Pharyes, a People of small Stature, the Guardians of Treasures, of Mines, and of Precious Stones. They are Ingenious, Friends of Men, and easie to be commandded. They furnish the Children of the Sages with as much Money, as they have need of; and never ask any other Reward of their Services, than the Glory of being Commanded. The Gnomides or Wives of these Gnomes or Pharyes, are Little, but very Handson; and their Habit marvellously Curious."

Villars used the term gnomide to refer to female gnomes (often "gnomid" in English translations). Modern fiction instead uses the word "gnomess" to refer to female gnomes.

In 19th-century fiction, the chthonic gnome became a sort of antithesis to the more airy or luminous fairy. Nathaniel Hawthorne in Twice-Told Tales (1837) contrasts the two in "Small enough to be king of the fairies, and ugly enough to be king of the gnomes" (cited after OED). Similarly, gnomes are contrasted to elves, as in William Cullen Bryant's Little People of the Snow (1877), which has "let us have a tale of elves that ride by night, with jingling reins, or gnomes of the mine" (cited after OED).

One of the first movements in Mussorgsky's 1874 work Pictures at an Exhibition, named "Gnomus" (Latin for "The Gnome"), is written to sound as if a gnome is moving about, his movements constantly changing in speed.

Franz Hartmann in 1895 satirized materialism in an allegorical tale entitled Unter den Gnomen im Untersberg. The English translation appeared in 1896 as Among the Gnomes: An Occult Tale of Adventure in the Untersberg. In this story, the Gnomes are still clearly subterranean creatures, guarding treasures of gold within the Untersberg mountain.

As a figure of 19th-century fairy tales, the term gnome became largely synonymous with other terms for "little people" by the 20th century, such as goblin, brownie, kobold, leprechaun, Heinzelmännchen and other instances of the "domestic spirit" type, losing its strict association with earth or the underground world.

Modern fantasy literature

Creatures called gnomes have been used in the fantasy genre of fiction and later gaming since the mid-nineteenth century, typically in a cunning role, e.g. as an inventor.

In L. Frank Baum's Oz series (created 1900 to 1914), the Nomes (so spelled), especially their king, are the chief adversaries of the Oz people. They are ugly, hot-tempered, immortal, round-bodied with spindly legs and arms, have long beards and wild hair, live underground, and are the militant protectors/hoarders of jewels and precious metals. Baum does not depict any female gnomes. Ruth Plumly Thompson, who continued the series (1972 to 1976) after Baum's death, reverted to the traditional spelling.

J. R. R. Tolkien, in the legendarium (created 1914 to 1973) surrounding his Elves, uses "Gnomes" as the initial and later dropped name of the Noldor, the most gifted and technologically minded of his elvish races, in conscious exploitation of the similarity with the word gnomic. Gnome is thus Tolkien's English loan-translation of the Quenya word Noldo (plural Noldor), "those with knowledge". Tolkien's "Gnomes" are generally tall, beautiful, dark-haired, light-skinned, immortal, and typically wise but suffer from pride, tend towards violence, and have an overweening love of the works of their own hands, particularly gemstones. Many of them live in cities below ground (Nargothrond) or in secluded mountain fortresses (Gondolin). He uses "Gnomes" to refer to both males and females. In The Father Christmas Letters (between 1920 and 1942), which Tolkien wrote for his children, Red Gnomes are presented as helpful creatures who come from Norway to the North Pole to assist Father Christmas and his Elves in fighting the wicked Goblins.

BB's The Little Grey Men (1942) is a story of the last gnomes in England, little wild men who live by hunting and fishing.

In C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia (created 1950 to 1956), the gnomes are sometimes called "Earthmen". live in the Underland, a series of caverns. Unlike the traditional, more human-like gnomes, they can have a wide variety of physical features and skin colours. They are used as slaves by the Lady of the Green Kirtle.

The Dutch books Gnomes (1976) and The Secret Book of Gnomes (1984), written by Wil Huygen, deal with gnomes living together in harmony. These same books are the basis for a made-for-TV animated film and the Spanish-animated series The World of David the Gnome (as well as the spin-off Wisdom of the Gnomes). The word "gnome", in this case, is used in place of the Dutch kabouter.

In the Warcraft franchise (1994 to present), particularly as featured in the MMORPG World of Warcraft, gnomes are a race of beings separate from but allied to dwarves and humans, with whom they share the lands of the Eastern Kingdoms. Crafty, intelligent, and smaller than their dwarven brethren, gnomes are one of two races in Azeroth regarded as technologically savvy. It is suggested in lore that the gnomes originally were mechanical creations that at some point became organic lifeforms. In World of Warcraft, gnomes are an exile race, having irradiated their home city of Gnomeregan in an unsuccessful last-ditch effort to drive out marauding foes.

In J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series (created 1997 to 2007), gnomes are pests that inhabit the gardens of witches and wizards. They are small creatures with heads that look like potatoes on small stubby bodies. Gnomes are generally considered harmless but mischievous and may bite with sharp teeth. In the books, it is stated that the Weasleys are lenient to gnomes, and tolerate their presence, preferring to throw them out of the garden rather than more extreme measures.

In A. Yoshinobu’s Sorcerous Stabber Orphen , the European concept of a gnome is used in order to introduce the Far Eastern notion of the Koropokkuru, a mythical indigenous race of small people: gnomes are a prosecuted minority banned from learning wizardry and attending magical schools. 

In Terry Brooks' Shannara series (created 1977 to 2017), gnomes are an offshoot race created after the Great Wars. There are several distinctive classes of gnomes. Gnomes are the smallest race. In The Sword of Shannara they are considered to be tribal and warlike, the one race that can be the most easily subverted to an evil cause. This is evidenced by their allegiance to the Warlock Lord in The Sword of Shannara and to the Mord Wraiths in The Wishsong of Shannara.

Terry Pratchett included gnomes in his Discworld series. Gnomes were six inches in height but quite strong, often inflicting pain upon anyone underestimating them. One prominent gnome became a Watchman in Ankh-Morpork as the force became more diversified under the command of Sam Vimes, with Buggy Swires appearing in Jingo (novel). Another gnome in the series was Wee Mad Arthur a pest terminator in Feet of Clay (novel).

L. Frank Baum also featured the classical gnomes in his book The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. They are in charge of watching over the rocks and their king is part of the Council of Immortals. In addition, they also created the sleigh bells for Santa Claus' reindeer.

Music

"The Laughing Gnome" is a song by English musician David Bowie, released as a single in 1967. It became a hit when reissued in 1973, in the wake of Bowie's commercial success.

The 1970 album All Things Must Pass by English musician George Harrison has a cover image of the musician sitting among a group of garden gnomes.

"The Gnome" is a song by Pink Floyd on their 1967 album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. It is about a gnome named Grimble Gromble.

Games

In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, gnomes are one of the core races available for play as player characters.

Garden gnomes

After World War II (with early references, in ironic use, from the late 1930s) the diminutive figurines introduced as lawn ornaments during the 19th century came to be known as garden gnomes. The image of the gnome changed further during the 1960s to 1970s, when the first plastic garden gnomes were manufactured. These gnomes followed the style of the 1937 depiction of the seven dwarves in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by Disney. This "Disneyfied" image of the gnome was built upon by the illustrated children's book classic The Secret Book of Gnomes (1976), in the original Dutch Leven en werken van de Kabouter. Garden gnomes share a resemblance to the Scandinavian tomte and nisse, and the Swedish term "tomte" can be translated as "gnome" in English.

Gnome parades

Gnome parades are held annually at Atlanta's Inman Park Festival. Numerous one-off gnome parades have been held, including in Savannah, Georgia (April 2012) and Cleveland, Ohio (May 2011).

Metaphorical uses

The expression "Gnomes of Zürich", Swiss bankers pictured as diminutive creatures hoarding gold in subterranean vaults, was derived from a speech in 1956 by Harold Wilson, and gained currency in the 1960s (OED notes the New Statesman issue of 27 November 1964 as earliest attestation).

Architect Earl Young built a number of stone houses in Charlevoix, Michigan, that have been referred to as gnome homes.

“I honestly don’t know what you see in her, Alphys,”

“Wh-who? Undyne?”

“She’s utterly terrifying,”

Mettaton and Alphys sat on opposite ends of the sofa as Mettaton flicked through the television channels idly, watching the screen with a bored expression. The choice of television content was immense in the human world, and yet there never seemed to be anything worth watching.

“She’s not scary w-when you get to know her!” She countered, “She’s actually quite sweet and gentle,”

“Hmmph!”

“W-what was that noise for?”

“That was my noise of pure disbelief, darling,” He said, sprawling out on the sofa to get himself more comfortable, taking up half the space along with it.

Alphys crossed her arms, “D-don’t make noises of disbelief about my girlfriend! S-she’s a nice person,”

“I’ll make whatever noises I like, sweetheart,” He informed her, stretching out further and laying his legs on Alphys’ lap. There, now he was comfortable. “She once threatened to ‘noogie me so hard my head caved in’,”

“That’s just her way o-of... bonding!”

Mettaton smirked, “Oh really?”

“It is!

He looked over to her, placing the television remote down. He’d never find anything of interest to watch at this rate anyway. “Say, honey, it’s cute to see you so defensive about her. You really have fallen for that angry fish woman, haven’t you?” He pressed, nudging her teasingly with his foot.

A small, hesitant smile grew on her lips, “Y-yeah, I like her a lot,”

He sighed, “Okay, well I guess I can’t change your mind about her,”

“You c-certainly can’t!”

“Even though she terrifies me,”

“Nope!”

They looked at each other with subtle smiles, knowing that they were both as stubborn as each other.

Once a silence began to grow over the conversation, and the hunt for something to watch on the television came to an end, Mettaton finally turned it off all together.

“How about we play a game?”

“L-like what? I have plenty of games on my PC-”

“No no! I mean, like... Truth or Dare?”

Alphys gulped. That game always promised a lot of panic and terror for her. Alphys wasn’t the best person to be playing a game about truth, but then again, neither was Mettaton. Maybe they’d just have to take dares all night.

“O-okay then, you start,”

“Hold on, I have to get the wine first,”

“What for?”

“You expect me to play a game about admitting the truth without getting drunk beforehand? That’s preposterous,”

Alphys laughed, “You h-have a point!”

“Truth,” Mettaton said, tempting with fate. The only solace he had with playing this game was that, if Alphys started asking intrusive questions, he could always fire them straight back at her.

“How long are you g-going to let that Burgerpants guy think that you hate him?” She asked, “Because he r-really hates working for you- he tells everyone who walks in! He even t-told me- and he knows I made you! I-I think he holds me responsible,”

Mettaton rolled his eyes, “I’m going to stop treating him like crap when he starts acting like a good employee. See- he’s lucky I don’t fire him for talking trash about me behind my back. I was even kind enough to hire him again when we got to the surface,”

Alphys took another giddy sip of her wine, letting the fruity taste roll around on her tongue, “Y-you make a good argument,”

He also took a sip, or rather, gulp of his wine himself, almost downing half the glass, “That guy really does push me to the limit,”

“I-I see!” Alphys looked at him, a little worriedly. Maybe she should replace the wine with something non-alcoholic in a while, “Okay, my turn. I choose... truth?” She said uncertainly.

“Okay! Truth time,” Mettaton said, straightening up to think of a good question, “Have you, or have you not ever...” He gave her a mischievous look, “Had a crush on me?”

“O-oh my God!”

Mettaton smirked “I knew it,”

“W-wait n-no!” Alphys said, giggling infectiously, “No Mettaton. I’ve actually n-never felt like that about you,”

He looked at her like she’d just shot him, like she’d just said something to betray his whole trust and everything he stood for, “Never?”

“Nope! You’ve always j-just been my friend, 

“But I’m so hot,” He said, as though he was trying to convince her to crush on him.

She had to cover her mouth to stop all of the giggles from escaping, “Y-yes but I was the one who m-made you hot. I got fed u-up of seeing your stupid hot face every time I had to work on it,”

“Now this is just bullying,” Mettaton huffed, trying his hardest to suppress a laugh. “You’ve seen me... in the nude,”

Alphys snorted and covered her face, the laughter becoming too much, “I have! B-but I’d rather see Undyne in ‘the nude’,”

Mettaton finally caved, laughter pouring out of him. The idea that anyone would rather see Undyne naked than him was hilarious to him. He couldn’t quite believe it.

When the laughter eventually petered off, Mettaton shook his head, “Okay, my turn again. I choose dare,”

Alphys held her chin in thought, “I dare you to... call Undyne and tell her y-you love her!!”

He gasped, pouring another glass of wine quickly, not caring much when some of it sloshed over the side, and then poured the whole glass-full down his throat. He slammed the glass back down on the table and pulled out his phone.

Alphys had to hold her hands over her mouth again as Mettaton dialled the number, knowing that Undyne would be able to hear her giggling otherwise.

“Hello, beautiful,” Mettaton breathed when Undyne picked up, his tone full of wanton lust.

“Mettaton? That you?” She replied, her voice only showing confusion.

“Oh, you know who it is, darling,” He said, winking and biting his lip, far too drunk to realise she couldn’t see him.

“Well... what’s up?” She asked, his tone alarming her immensely.

“I was just calling to... admit s-something rather personal to you,” He said, slurring his words slightly but still holding onto his sultry voice, “You see, I’m just dreadfully in love with you and want nothing more than to... than to father your children!”

There was silence on the other end of the phone and both Mettaton and Alphys looked at each other, holding their breath to keep in their laughter, “Darling? Are you there?”

At long last, Undyne was heard again, this time, howling with laughter, “I can’t believe you just- oh my God! As if I’d-” More laughter, and then Mettaton and Alphys joined in, unable to help themselves. Undyne could be heard saying something quietly to someone else, and then laughing harder “Hey, Papyrus says he’ll father your children- so you can have that,”

“METTATON, DON’T LISTEN TO HER- I SAID NO SUCH THING,” A loud voice yelled through the phone, supposedly belonging to ‘Papyrus���.

Undyne spoke again, quieter this time, “He totally would if you asked him, though,”

“UNDYNE I CAN HEAR YOU TALKING ABOUT ME,”

“Well I gotta go- catch you later metalbutt,” And with that, she hung up, leaving Alphys and Mettaton with tears of laughter streaming down their faces.

“I really thought she was taking it seriously for a moment there,” Mettaton said in between laughs.

“Me too! I thought she was going to get all angry,” Alphys said, wiping the tears away.

“I thought she was going to agree,”

“WHAT?!”

Mettaton threw his head back and kicked his legs with laughter.

“She’s a lesbian, Mettaton,”

“I don’t know how strong my charms are-”

“Not that strong, Mettaton,” She patted him on the arm, knowing he was taking the fact that not everybody fell hopelessly at his feet hard, “O-okay- my turn. I’ll choose dare this time,”

“Alrighty, I dare you to let me give you a makeover,”

Alphys eyed him, wondering where the catch was with this dare. It seemed too simple. But when Mettaton started pulling out a black wig and makeup- she knew exactly what he was up to.

“You made m-me look like you!” She said when he was finished, looking into the mirror, “D-do I look hot now?”

Mettaton shushed her by placing a finger clumsily upon her lips, “You are always hot Alphys- now you’re just hot in the same way as me,”

“Y-you think I’m always hot?”

Mettaton nodded, “Everyone has the ability to be hot- it’s all in the personality,” He chuckled, “How do you think I got everyone in the underground to fall in love with a box?”

She giggled, “Th-that makes sense,” But then her brow furrowed, “But... I don’t have a hot personality,”

“Of course you do... you know smart things. That’s hot to a lot of people- look you have a girlfriend so she must think so,”

She gasped, as though the mystery of how she managed to get herself a girlfriend was finally revealed.

Mettaton nodded slowly, grabbing onto her shoulders, “You’re hot Alphys! Say it with me, ‘I am hot!’,”

Alphys felt like she was about to faint. Or throw up. She wasn’t sure.

“I am h-hot!”

“Say ‘I am cute!’”

“Say ‘I would happily let Mettaton father my children!’,”

They carried on like this for the rest of the night, daring each other to do increasingly stupid things and arguing about Mettaton’s attractiveness. In the morning, all they had left of the day was three empty wine bottles, fuzzy headaches and a photo Alphys had sent to Undyne dressed as Mettaton with the caption ‘don’t you want to father my children?’.

Anita Hedin at Galleri Hantverket

Anita Hedin’s textile show, which opened in March, closes Thursday 4th April; if you haven’t already seen it, now is your chance! The artist members of the gallery work at the gallery themselves, so they have a chance to interact with individuals interested in their work. Galleri Hantverket exhibits work from their own artists as well as from artists around the world.

SUPERMARKET: Stockholm Independent Art Fair at Sickla Front

SUPERMARKET is a four day international artist-run art fair, with talks and performances. There is an internationally distributed SUPERMARKET art magazine available for purchase as well. Admission is 120 SEK, or 150 for admission plus the art magazine. You can also purchase a weekend pass for 200 SEK, which provides you with admission for four days and the art magazine.

Escapist at the Royal Opera

  The Choir of St. John’s College at Stockholm Cathedral

Andrew Netsingha conducts this choir from Cambridge, England. The choir was founded in 1670, and sings daily in the chapel of St. John’s College. Their repertoire is broad, with music ranging over 500 years. Tickets vary between 80 and 250 SEK.

The Leopard at Bio & Bistro Capitol

Enjoy the 1963 film “Leopard,” with food served to you during the intermission. The film is based on Giuseppe Tomasi de Lampedusa’s novel of the same name. “Leopard” takes place during the 1860’s upheaval in Sicily, telling the story of the Prince of Salina as he tries to preserve his family. The nature reflects onto the photographed women, as Silversaga tries to capture feelings and experiences that cannot be put into words.
