JUSTICE FOR OUR SISTER
I have been quiet for a long time on this platform.
Quiet because my heart was crying but I was full of rage.
Quiet because I was protesting the best way I could.
Quiet because my elder sister lost her life in the hands of heinous criminals.
But not quiet anymore.
I am raging and now I will let my rage show.
I am raging because I demand justice for my elder sister.
I am raging because criminals are lurking around the corners freely.
It has been a month now.
A month and the system could not provide us with justice.
A month and justice is still being delayed.
A month and my sister is still crying for justice.

CRIMES COMMITTED AGAINST WOMEN, ITS HER FAULT?
RG KAR MEDICAL COLLEGE&HOSPITAL, THE HEINOUS ACTS
Tumblr media
NOTE: THIS POST HAS INFO SOLELY BASED ON MY OWN RESEARCH, SOURCES FROM THE NEWS AND INTERNET SO CREDS OF SS TO THE OWNERS. if you have any other information regarding this case, please please do feel free to reblog this and share them, as i can't compile everything in one post due to the case being an ongoing one. I would appreciate if you could read all of it, I tried to keep it short and compact and easy enough for everyone to understand. Of course, I have to keep a few names and specific political parties and critism out of this for obvious reasons of this post being taken down, but trust me, karma is real.
Do tell me if I lack anything, will try my best to add it or make another post about it. WE WANT JUSTICE.
Tumblr media
01 TAKE HER NAME, DON'T FORGET HER
Dr. Moumita Debnath, a junior female doctor, a 2nd year PGT at R G KAR medical college and hospital was gang r4ped and m4rdered in the college seminar hall, while she was in a 36 hr shift, in 9th of August, 2024, Kolkata.
R G KAR, a reputed college and hospital, only allowing the top of brains to enter its premises, has now lost it's name to this heinous crime. Moumita debnath's perpetrators live to this day and the college authorities are yet to pay any heed. Why?
That poor girl was bleeding from her eyes, vagina, with disfigured limbs and broken collarbones, bite marks, broken pelvic girdle and hyoid bone several other signs of struggle and violence ( attached report below ) Even her legs were forcefully coaxed apart, that her bones were broken. 150 gms of sperm was have been discovered from her body, when a male individual can only transfer a maximum of 15 gms. Can you imagine her pain? What did she do to deserve this pain and suffering, this heinous crime against her? Can you imagine how her parents must have felt to hear the news?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, I forgot. This absolute blood boiling, gut wrenching and demonic of an act was immediately announced as a "SU3CIDE" upon initial FIR, and to her parents, by authorities. Can't you see? How they tried to coarctate the matter by calling it a su3cide?
How can a girl with extreme signs of violence and r4pe on her body, with little to no clothes, broken limbs, bleeding eyes, commit a su4cide? THIS IS A BLOT ON THE AUTHORITIES WHO ARE CLEARING VIEWING THIS MATTER AS A JOKE no girl in that condition can commit a su3cide, do you really think people are THAT DUMB?? that we won't notice you trying to cover up this case??
02 TAMPER THE EVIDENCE, HIDE THE CRIMINAL
Dr. Moumita Debnath's body was cremated without her parents' approval/permission. They were kept waiting for 3 fucking hours. As if to get rid of her body as soon as they can with minimal autopsy, before CBI could even start investigation.
As soon as this case was handed over from WBPD ( west bengal police department ) to CBI ( central bereau of intelligence ) mobs have barged in and LITERALLY DAMAGED THE WALLS BESIDE THE SEMINAR HALL ( the crime scene ) inside the college premises. And for what? Come on we know it all, for removal of some obvious evidence.
On 14th august, during the middle of the night which was during the ‘RAAT DOKHOLE MEYERA’ ( girls reclaim the night ) rally, in RG KAR, mobs yet again managed to infiltrate the college premises to cause damage again, this time targeting specific cctv cameras as well. They also vandalised public property and vehicles in a "profesional" way. — “MBBS student Anupam Roy, an eyewitness to the mob attack, said the mob's act was deliberate with the clandestine motive of ending their agitation.” — from Hindustan Times.
They even CAUSED HARM TO THE WASHROOMS OF THE FLOOR WHERE EVIDENCE COULD'VE BEEN FOUND. The motive of the mob is obvious— to tamper the evidence in order to protect the perpetrators.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
03. POLITICS BEFORE BASIC LAW & ORDER?
Political parties are busy blaming each other and throwing dirt on names, meanwhile also trying to hide the perpetrators and start protests against opposition parties. Is your political position and meaningless arguments more valuable than a girl's life which been lost so brutally? Can we not keep politics aside, just for a moment and try to bring the girl justice? These thick skinned selfish monsters don't feel the pain of her parents, the emotions of helpless women and the crime they're commiting themselves.
They are slowly shifting away from the main matter of bringing her justice, trying to coarctate is slowly by heavy politics. Well the public is not dumb, we can see it all and understand how our CM doesn't even care about this situation.
SHAME ON YOU, the authorities, you're are only hope in this city in this state and you're acting this way?! Do you not have spines? Is money and votes everything to you? How low is too low and why is it the west bengal government?
They even have an accused suspect in custody ( Sanjoy Roy ) whom everybody is calling a scapegoat, which he possibly could be regarding the governments recent inactivities towards the situation. They are even giving out orders to resist rallies and protests, such a fucking disgrace, cause then vandalism and tampering of evidence is right but not raising your voice against it?
04. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE?
This year marks the 77th independent year for India, but are we really? Women are not safe at night walking along the streets their own ancestors fought for, women are not safe in their own workplace working shifts, women are not safe in public transport, in their homes, neighbourhood, schools, colleges, NOWHERE ARE WE ALLOWED TO HAVE A PEACEFUL BREATHE. But for how long? It's been 12 years since we witnessed a similar, horrible and atrocious crime as NIRBHAYA, only for it to happen again. This shows how weak, corrupted, and unjust Indian judiciary system has become, and as an Indian myself, it ashames me deeply to admit this. We are failing as a society, still not being able to create a safe environment for our women.
But time has come now to raise our voice and fists together against this oppressive, corrupt government and snatch our own freedom ourselves. DONT YOU EVER FORGET ABOUT HER, TAKE AND HER NAME AND PROMISE YOURSELF TO BRING HER JUSTICE. If we forget and give up, god knows how many others will die like this without any justice. Justice is ours and we will have it, there is no point of being 'independent' if we have to do candle marches every other day, mourn for our women every other day, be scared of letting our daughter out every other day.
This is time, we rise up as one.
We want the actual criminals to be punished a hundred times more cruelly than Dr. Moumita Debnath was k!lied.
WE WANT JUSTICE. BRUTAL PUNISHMENT TO THE CRIMINALS.
ALL EYES ON RG KAR. ALL EYES ON DOCTORS. JUSTICE FOR MOUMITA DEBNATH.

Also! What do you think is the rules around epenthetic vowels in mando'a? We have a bit different epenthetic vowels showing up between kom(o)r(o)k, kar(o)ta, but aay(e)han, dush(i)shya...
I think the basic rule of epenthetic sounds is to make words conform to Mando’a syllable structure and phonotactics. It seems to me that Mando’a more often elides sounds if e.g. joining two morphemes would result in a prohibited consonant cluster. That’s the more common strategy. Sometimes (more rarely) though there are extra sounds that (imo) are easiest to explain as epenthetic soundsi.e. they’re there because of phonetics, not because they carry meaning.
Mando’a phonotactics
As far as I can tell, Mando’a has pretty easy phonotactics. The syllable structure is (C)(C)(C)V(C)(C) and the allowed consonant clusters are:
Onset:
Pr, where P = voiceless or voiced stop /p b t d k g/: pr, br, tr, dr, kr, gr
SPR, where S = /s/, P = voiceless stop /p t k/, R = /r l/: sp, st, sk, str, skr, sl, kl
That is, it’s the Indo-European SPR (sibilant + stop + /r l/) type, but the allowed set is a bit smaller than in e.g. English.
n.b.
I interpret ⟨ts⟩ as an affricate /t͜s/, i.e. it’s a phoneme not a cluster. That way I don’t have to explain why ks, ps, etc. aren’t allowed.
ty, cy, shy, ny, ky which I interpret as palatalisations tʲ, sʲ (=ʃ), ʃʲ (=ɕ), nʲ, kʲ
dh, mh, gh which I interpret as palatalisations /dʲ mʲ ɡʲ/, possibly realised as [dʰ mʰ ɡʰ] or [d m g].
Palatalisations are discussed previously here.
Coda:
st
rd, rʃ
ht, hn
I’m not really counting kom’rk and shebs, as they are anomalous in several ways. Shebs seems to be actually a loan from chebs; in-universe the extra -s could be explained as influence from Basic, so that sheb is the dictionary form and shebs is a dialectal/slang form. Kom’rk is given an unproblematic pronunciation
Clusters in the coda aren’t terribly common overall, and the ht, hn only appear in one word each (gaht + ka’gaht which appears to be a compound of gaht & ehn). Note that the coda clusters are kind of a reduced set of the mirror images of the onsets, which is expected.
Across the syllable border, most combinations are allowed as long as at least one of them is some kind of a continuant. Stop-stop combinations are uncommon.
There are few restrictions on single consonants, but
vh seems to appear only syllable-initially, same with the semivowels w and j; j seems to get realised as [i] in that position (I analyse y between two vowels [j] as the onset of the next syllable)
ng only appears syllable-finally
The planet Ceravh is a possible exception, which could be Mando’a or a (nativized) loanword, as we’ve discussed previously.
Diphthongs are ay (also spelled ai), ey, iy, uy, oy, and au. Other vowel-vowel combinations are allowed, but belong to different syllables. I’m very tempted to spell au as aw in this context, since Traviss notes that there’s an “almost v” sound in e.g. ba’vodu’e. So in the Vy type diphthongs, the y is [i] before consonants or word-finally and [j] before vowels, which is a very common behaviour. The corresponding behaviour would be for e.g. au to be [au] before consonants and word-finally and [aw] (or maybe [aʋ]) before vowels, which would also be a very common behaviour. So I’m tempted to interpret e.g. nau’ur as [na.ʋʊɾ] rather than [naʊ̯.ʔʊɾ]. But perhaps both realisations exist in different dialects.
Other interpretations are possible. This is what I consider overall the simplest and with least exceptions.
Edit: This was my draft on phonotactics I wrote a while back, seeing it again now I might make some edits.
Epenthetic sounds
So back to the question. The data is what it is, so I’m making egregious generalisations from way too little data as always. Like we’ve discussed previously, this is the nature of trying to infer rules from a corpus of ~1k words. In some cases there are two (or more) equally plausible explanations, so it can be hard to say whether a sound is epenthetic or some affix or maybe a part of a longer word that’s gotten whittled down to fit in a compound. With the data we have, it’s impossible to say whether it’s synchronic epenthesis or diachronic sound loss (and maybe an archaic pronunciation that still hangs around in some dialects); it could be either.
komorok and karota—I think these might be easier to explain the other way around, i.e. they have lost sounds. Imo that mrk cluster in kom’rk is really odd compared to the rest of Mando’a; rk I might excuse by comparing it with rd. But mrk? That bad boy needs at least one extra vowel. Karota > kar’ta is not the only word that (imo) seems to have shortened or lost a syllable in that position. It was probably an unstressed one. Nvm, Traviss gives the pronunciation as “kah-ROH-ta,” which is very weird: why drop the stressed syllable. Why. Kar’ta isn’t even problematic phonotactics wise. Or it could be an epenthesis.
dushishya—I don’t know why Traviss didn’t make this dushya; it’s right there. Mando’a elides identical sounds left and right and even chaaj+shya is chaa’shya. I’ve chosen to elide the final consonant in words ending in a sibilant before -shya instead, but if you want to keep both sh’s, then the epenthetic vowel is there so it’s possible to pronounce them as separate sounds instead of smushing them together.
aayihan—I like to think aay is the same *ay- as in e.g. uj’ayl. It might mean something like ‘sweet.’ I don’t know why it’s gotten a long vowel, but if I were to reconstruct a history for this word, I’d say aay’han used to be a longer compound or perhaps a phrase that’s gotten shortened over time. I think ‘han is a contracted form of haran; it wouldn’t be hard to imagine aay might’ve originally been a longer word too. But yeah, the extra vowel is there because you have that voiced /j/ and voiceless /h/, try to make them a cluster and it doesn’t really work. And there are two syllables because the aa is a long sound: seems to me the nucleus can be a short vowel, long vowel, or a diphthong—additional vowels belong to separate syllables. So aay’han would be aa-y-han. I guess it could be pronounced as aa-i-han as well, but if you want to realise that y as [j], then it needs a vowel because /j/ is not allowed as a coda.
The epenthetic vowel is in dushishya and aayihan likely because sh and y are palatal sounds. I doubt there are rules as such to what the epenthetic vowel should be, they’re probably entirely dependent on the surrounding phonemes—pick whatever is easiest to say depending on the other sounds in the word.
buurenaar—I found it easiest to reconstruct the verb ‘to storm’ as *buurenir, and then the noun buurenaar just has a swapped suffix. But it could also be *bur + nar or *burunar plus sound symbolism which turns the vowels long like wind.
ast’ehut—e could be the -ness prefix (ast-ehut) or an epenthetic vowel.
Coruscant > Coruscanta. Mando’a doesn’t do -nt codas, so this is an easy explanation: epenthetic vowel to keep the original sounds and make them conform to Mando’a phonotactics. You could argue that entye is ent-ye and has -nt coda; I however think it’s en-tye and the ty represents a palatalised consonant tʲ.
In the case of the -ii suffix, I think we could say it inserts an epenthetic vowel if the suffix appears after a vowel in the stem, and in both cases (aru’e > aruetii, kando > kandosii) that vowel is alveolar, probably because the high front vowel /i/ in the suffix so it’s easiest to insert some front-ish consonant as well. Which alveolar consonant? Probably just “feels”—whatever is easiest to say.
The variation in conjunctions and prefixes depending on the following word (e.g. a/al, sha/shal, ge/get, etc) is possibly a related phenomenon. But again, impossible to say because we don’t know where these words developed from.
These are what comes to mind, if there are more words that appear to have something extra, feel free to add them below and I can take a stab at them.
tl;dr: Epenthetic sounds are inserted to make pronunciation easier; what counts as “easier” is defined by the phonotactics of the particular language. Describing epenthesis as only “correcting phonotactics to what’s allowed” is probably bad or at least incomplete description of the process, so while e.g. kar’ta is not problematic, karota might still be an epenthesis.
This is also applicable to the loanword discussion, btw—loanwords can be subject to native phonotactic restrictions as well. I’ll get back to that later!

ok so it's being said that apparenty the tmc is heavily involved in this case? and that the principal is also heavily involved. it's probably a drugs and sex racket as far as people think
Yes. Yes. Yes. No one can come forward and say this directly but from what I have seen and heard from my friends and seniors and people who are there in R G Kar, these are true. Sanjay Ray is a fucking bogus. That bitch wasn't even there for the crime. Even if he was, he wasn't alone. Have you ever held a pelvic bone in your hand? I have and let me tell you, IT'S NOT FUCKING EASY TO JUST BREAK A PELVIC BONE LIKE THAT. You need 2-3 strong people AT LEAST. What happened to Didi was a gang rape and the perpetrators were her COLLEAGUES, other MEDICOS, PGTs and INTERNS. They are being shielded because they are heavily connected to the ruling party.
The only question now is, will the investigating agency be able to prove it and catch the actual culprits?

I wanted to enlighten you about the rape case that happend in my country india.
The tragic rape and murder of the female trainee doctor at Kolkata’s R G Kar Medical College and Hospital have drawn nationwide outrage, leading to protests by junior doctors who have halted work to demand justice for the victim.
In the latest, while engaging with the students on Thursday, Suhrita Pal, the new principal of RGKMCH, lost her composure. In response to the horrifying rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor that occurred on Friday in the hospital's seminar hall, the demonstrating students demanded that Pal act right now.
A second-year postgraduate trainee doctor spent her night just like any other night. She had dinner with her juniors and decided to go take some rest at 2 am, early morning.
- Due to a lack of rest space in the hospital, the doctor decided to go rest in the seminar hall, considering it safe to rest.
- Cut to next morning when her body was discovered semi-nude inside a seminar hall on August 9, after she had been on duty the previous night.
The horrifying details of the case are that pelvic bone was broken like crushed she was found in us 90° angle like her legs were wide open in a 90 degree angle that means that her like the pelvic bone was broken apart and an Normal man can only ejaculate 15 g of semen even after 23 rounds of the intercourse but 150 g of semen was found in her body that means she was getting r**ed by 9 to 10 men justice is being denied the goons are being covered up but the case has been handed to the CBI technically the FBI of India so I will keep giving you more updates on this case but we really need international attention on this please kindly spread this so because she used to wear glasses the glasses were broken literally and the glass pieces were literally engraved inside her eyes she had very heavy vaginal bleeding it was horrifying literally horrifying so yeah please please read this Thank you.
This is absolutely disgusting!
How could someone do something like this? Men are giving us women more and more reasons to fear for our lives and no one is taking this topic seriously!
How the hell did 9-10 men sneak into this place and gang rape this woman to death without anyone hearing or giving a fuck?!?!!?
My heart goes out to the family and friends of the deceased 💜
I had no idea this happened so thank you for telling me! We need to spread awareness and take this "I hate men" mantra seriously and make people see how despicable and entitled men have gotten these days.
I wish I could do more but I hope getting her story out there will help in some sort of way 💜

I don't know how many of you know and how many of you don't like what is going on in India recently but Trigger Warning:
So Last Friday, in Kolkata, a 31 year old resident doctor was murdered and then raped in one of the hospitals called R G Kar. She was on a 36 hour duty, when after mid night she went to the 4th floor seminar room of the hospital to get some sleep and rest, when she was murdered and raped. It is said she was gang raped by 8 or 10 (from amount of semen found in her body) and then mutilated by a hair clip. Her bones were broken, there was blood and bruises and cuts. I can't make you guys understand, how horrific this is. The whole of Kolkata, west Bengal, India is burning in rage for how this innocent woman was killed. The police tried to portray this as suicide and government is also helping. There's been attacks on the hospital to destroy evidences.
India just celebrated independence day yesterday, but how can we even think of celebrating independence in a country where women aren't independent? Where women are not free to feel secure and safe even in their work places? How are we independent? And there are people of social medias who are making a total mockery of this poor girl's faith, like isn't there any humanity left? What kind of monstrous creatures are humans becoming? Why can't we feel safe in our country, in our work places? Why should always feel the fear? Why can't men control their primal instincts? Like aren't you someone's brother or someone's husband or someone's son? Imagine your mother, sister and wife's in their places?
I'm disappointed with this society and its people and with the government, the police and this country. India, this is your 77th year as a independent country, and this is the situation you're currently in. Shame. As a girl, I feel unsafe. Today this happened with this girl, tomorrow it can happen with me or my friend or with someone I know. Remember the nirbhaya case? The dhananjoy case? And other such millions of cases?
Why can't we feel safe in our own country? Why? Where can we feel safe? Our dead bodies aren't even safe nowadays. Because bastards exist who won't even show mercy to dead bodies because they are so driven by their primal instincts to f*ck and cause unimaginable pain to others. Like this is the world where we live, there's no guarantee for anyone's safety.
Start changing, world or be ready to face your own doom, because at this point humans are just becoming monsters.
I'm disappointed with this World. We want Justice

Kolkata Doctor Case: A Wake-up Call on Indian Women's safety at the Workplace and Tumblr Users Community's efforts in improving the Problem
About the “Kolkata Doctor” incident
On 9 August 2024, a 31-year-old female postgraduate trainee doctor at R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, India, was murdered in a college building while retired in a seminar hall after a 36-hour shift in the hospital. An autopsy revealed that the victim had been r*ped and s*xually abused before being k*lled. On the next day, a 33-year-old male civic volunteer working for Kolkata Police was arrested under suspicion of committing the murder. Three days later, the enquiry was moved to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by the Calcutta High Court, claiming that the Kolkata Police's probe lacked credibility. The tragedy has heightened the debate about the safety of women and doctors in India and demands a thorough investigation (Sayantani 2024).
Tumblr media
The incident was widely covered in the media, triggering outrage across the country. Within the medical community, student unions and the deceased's colleagues demanded justice and better security measures on campus. Moreover, there are widespread protests and strikes by resident doctors nationwide in response to the crime. Additionally, many celebrities posted on their social media accounts, asking for harsh punishment for the offenders and justice for the victim (HT News Desk 2024).
The incident drew international attention, resulting in protests by the Indian community abroad. Demonstrations were held in 130 cities in 25 countries, including the United States, Australia, Japan,...
Tumblr media
Indian Women's Safety at the Workplace: A Social Media Discourse
In the wake of the Kolkata Doctor Case, discussions around women's safety in the workplace have arisen across various social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. Although India has significant legislative frameworks like the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, workplace harassment and violence against women remain prevalent. According to research, many Indian women workplace harassment go underreported due to fear of retaliation, disbelief in the justice system, and poor support structures (Ragavan 2021).
Regulations such as the POSH Act, when put into effect, have shown shortcomings, particularly in terms of guaranteeing that businesses follow its guidelines and provide secure, encouraging spaces for women to report such incidents (Bansal 2021). Social media has become a crucial platform for women to not only share their stories but also hold institutions responsible. For example, the #MeToo movement in India resulted in a series of high-profile resignations and a renewed focus on tackling sexual harassment in both formal and informal settings (Ahmad 2023).
Tumblr: a Platform for Social Change
In this context, Tumblr stands out as an essential forum for fostering conversations on women's safety and social justice. While Twitter is commonly used for short, rapid communication, Tumblr's long-form structure allows for more in-depth discussions (Oakley 2017). The network encourages its users to post essays, and discussions, reblog vital information, and even create art or graphics that raise awareness. It serves as a space for grassroots activism, where users from various backgrounds can engage with critical issues free from the often harsh, fast-paced culture of platforms like Twitter or Facebook (Reif, Miller & Taddicken 2022).
Tumblr's community-driven approach allows voices often sidelined in mainstream media to express their perspectives. Feminists, activists, and advocates for women's rights regularly use Tumblr to share their experiences, gather support for petitions, and organize protests or digital campaigns (Hannell 2024). Furthermore, Tumblr's format allows arguments to last longer, as reblogs and ongoing comments from diverse users ensure the topic doesn't fade quickly from public attention (Bourlai 2017).
Tumblr media
The Hashtags System
One of Tumblr's primary features is its hashtag system, allowing users community to connect and communicate across various postings and movements (Herron 2018). Several hashtags have emerged in India to raise awareness of women's safety, workplace harassment, and broader campaigning. Some of the key hashtags that have surfaced are:
#MeTooIndia: An extension of the worldwide #MeToo movement, Indian women have been using this hashtag actively to disclose their stories of harassment and abuse in the workplace, at home, and in public places.
#JusticeForWomen: Often used to highlight cases of sexual violence, demand justice for victims, and call for structural reforms and better legislation.
#WomenSafetyIndia: Focusing on the broader topic of safety for women in India, this hashtag covers everything from workplace harassment to public safety issues, rape cases, and the general lack of protection for women in the nation. It is employed to share resources, raise awareness, and promote initiatives for women's protection and empowerment.
Tumblr media
By using these hashtags, Tumblr users are not only raising awareness but also educating others about existing legal frameworks, discussing their limitations, and sharing resources that can be vital for women seeking help.
