Whitewashing no one see ( 'cause at the end Hollywood is still racist )

So, Ridley Scott really wants to do Gladiator sequel. I found it an horrible idea 'cause the story will be a new story with new charcter and new plot but finding a new title was more difficoult than using an old one, I get it.

Now, we have the cast, or the majority and... HELL NO !!!

I know, Scott ( and Hollywood in general ) never were too historically accurate so i can excuse Lucilla and adult!Lucio Vero still living, thei are a bridge between the old film and the sequel.

Ther's another problem.

Barry Keoghan was casted as Geta and Joseph Quinn as his Caracalla but ther's a problem.

They were born in England but they weren't English. Their father, Emperor Settimio Severo, was black and had berber origins, he was a Roman citizien but he wasn't Italian. Their mother, Giulia Domna, was Syrian, born in Emesa where her father was high priest.

So, how it could be possible that an African and a Syrian had two white sons?

yes, I know, it's cinema but... everyone were pissed for "black Cleopatra" but no one is pissed for "white Caracalla&white Geta" , and here we have images... only Caracalla 'cause Geta was cancelled after his brother decide to rule alone.

Btw I can accept white!Caracalla only if I can get Caracalla/Giulia Domna... yes, this is incest, they were accused to be lovers but the Romans dind't really believed this and Geta's death for some one was not for power but for jealosy. For this gossip Domna took boot her sons as hers lover and Caracalla was so jealous about this love triangle to plot his brother/rival's death.

Con ese diálogo inicia el primer capítulo de la primera temporada de "Derry Girls". Es una serie de televisión producida en Irlanda del Norte. Se convirtió en todo un fenómeno desde su lanzamiento, en 2018, en un local norirlandés hasta su lanzamiento en Netflix, que la internacionalizó.

La crítica especializada quedó rendida, y no solo la crítica: fueron miles los que se engancharon con esa propuesta. ¿Porqué? Sencillamente, porque "Derry Girls" es una comedia de situaciones que aborda en capítulos de media hora ese turbulento pasado. Y lo hace de una forma que asombra. Es divertida, pero no simplista. 'Las chicas de Derry' viven en esa ciudad de Irlanda del Norte, sede también de numerosos casos del conflicto de "The Troubles".

Aborda las aventuras, experiencias, vivencias compartidas, tristezas, anhelos y alegrías de los cinco amigos: Erin Quinn, Orla McCool, Clare Devlin, Michelle Mallon y James Maguire. Erin es una adolescente y la protagonista, cuya vida, familia, amigos y vivencias en la escuela abren paso a capítulos muy entrañables. “Derry Girls” habla de temas conocidos por todos: las diferencias generacionales con los padres. Desencuentros varios. Esfuerzos en las clases. Momentos vergonzosos. El apoyo de seres queridos. Errores y desaciertos. Optimismos. Nada que nos sea ajeno. La serie está ambientada durante lo que es llamado “The Troubles" (Los Desórdenes) el conflicto en Irlanda del Norte entre católicos (separatistas, que apoyaban la independencia nacional) y protestantes (pro corona y simpatizantes británicos), que se extendió desde la década de los 60, en el siglo pasado, hasta la agonía de los 90. Marcó con el puño severo de la violencia a Irlanda del Norte, especialmente Belfast, capital y la ciudad más importante de ese país, que forma parte del Reino Unido: punto neurálgico por su trascendencia política y económica. La disputa partió familias, vidas, y destinos por las miles de muertes, y por los centenares de detenidos. Debo enfatizar que la nomenclatura sencilla (Los Desórdenes) apela a un escenario lleno de complejidades. Abarca un período de atentados, emboscadas, ejecuciones, desapariciones y secuestros. De la cruenta ofensiva guerrillera del I.R.A., el Ejército Republicano Irlandés (por mencionar al grupo subversivo más notorio). Y todo para socavar y diezmar la autoridad y presencia británica en suelo norirlándes. Tres décadas de incertidumbre y violencia. Es un momento doloroso en la historia y son muchas las aproximaciones para explicarlo y detallarlo expuestas en libros, documentales, películas y también, en esa serie de televisión.

“Derry Girls” entreteje cada de sus capítulos teniendo en cuenta a una nación dividida por la historia y la violencia. Es notable, porque sin buscar dar lecciones de nada o sermonear nos adentra en la vida común y normal de sus protagonistas. Conocemos sus vidas. Sus pequeños logros, y sus pequeñas amarguras (infaltables en la realidad). Todo eso que mueve a un grupo de amigos y que une. Lo mismo que a las familias. Hay algo de “The Troubles” en cada episodio. Es tan fuerte su peso y presencia que es imposible dejarlo fuera. El acierto de “Derry Girls” es mostrarnos que hay fenómenos televisivos que llegan a explicar a un país. Que sirven de catarsis y alivio, luego de años conflictivos. Son cinco amigos, que repasan involuntariamente una historia tormentosa; y sus vidas ficticias y su sentido del humor ayudan muy probablemente a sanar tantas heridas y dolores acumulados, que están ahí como una sombra silenciosa y respetuosa.

Definitely through quality time, acts of service and the occasional gift. For an immortal time to him is infinite, however he recognises this is not the case for those he has been with over the last couple hundred years. If they choose to spend whatever little time they have on this plane with him then he will definitely return it in fold. Be that by simply sharing a room to read, or long walks at night his time is theirs (and hopefully it helps them feel less like it is borrowed time). He has a way with words to strangers when they are devoid of meaning and often as a way to get whatever he currently needs or desires, however, when it comes to words that means something he freezes on what to say and hopes that the time he spends with someone and the little and many things he does for them make up for what he lacks in his his vocabulary in the subject. Quinn isn’t a materialistic person, rich or poor everyone dies the same. After so much life he rarely thinks of the objects that surround him, however if he sees something that whoever his partner is might like, or reminds him of them then he will set it aside for them.

Delores is very honourable; once she has given her word for any task - no matter how mundane, she will always see it through even if it means she is putting herself at risk in the process. She doesn’t take betrayal well and can be incredibly harsh once someone goes back on their word due to the pedestal of standards she holds in regards to herself and her actions. Delores always has the best intention for others in her mind, however occasionally whatever she deems as the best for someone they may not agree as being the best course of action for themselves. In short, she is incredibly loyal, yet stubborn, when it comes to doing the morally correct thing, especially after her becoming a vampire as she does not wish to become the monster she already views herself as.
