Unpopular opinion: gif is pronounced JIF

y'know what, i pronounced it jif for the longest time and was adamant about it. i always thought the arguments coming from "well you don't say jraphics" were dumb because that's not how acronyms work. also, i know that the people who came up with the word gif pronounced it jif. i only finally came over to the hard g side because of the popular usage argument. language evolves and definitions/pronunciations are updated to reflect popular usage. a large majority of people seem to pronounce it with the hard g, so i guess that's that. 🤷

What's the significance of the title Coffee and Ramen? O:

Not too much. In the song Half Caff, I asked for a bit of voice from Penny to contort and add in as ambience, and it was a rant about her going to the convenience store and getting coffee and ramen and getting judged because the receptionist thought she was having both at the same time.

It was originally gonna be Half Caff’s name, but we liked the feel of the name Coffee and Ramen, so we made it the album

TV shows or movies?

Hoo boy.

Okay, I can see the appeal in both.  I think, right now, I prefer movies because right now I have too many shows I’m supposed to watch and movies, while emotionally cathartic (if they’re good) are a little less of a time commitment.

That said, good TV is a thing of beauty and when I actually can make the time commitment I appreciate the long-form storytelling that you can’t really get with movies.
