It's funny to see people talk about how Quetsiah was justified in casting Amara into stone for eternity. Like sure, the man cheats but giving the more cruel punishment to the girl - Amara and driving her to madness makes complete sense. The girl was in pain for two thousand years.

Amara was also Quetsiah's handmaiden, as in her servant - no matter what Quetsiah claimed - a servant and her mistress can never be friends, because they are not equals.

In either case, punishing the other woman more severely than her crusty boyfriend does not make her a 'cool girl boss'. It makes her a complicated and interesting character, someone to be feared, but it doesn't justify what she did to Amara.

Instead it just shows, once again, that the TVD showrunners were hell bent on making doppelgängers suffer in the worst way possible.

when qetsiyah showed that heart to silas and told him that amara was dead, it was actually amara's heart. qetsiyah ripped it out of amara’s chest, fully knowing that she cannot die because of it. on the contrary, she made sure that amara witnessed the whole process as the first act of her revenge.

amara's blood was also used for three other things:

the cure was partly made out of amara's blood as it needed a component of the immortal being qetsiah had created. if one were to re-create the cure, one would need the original's (aka amara's or silas's) blood.

the other side was likewise partly created with amara's blood. amara's blood is, however, not a necessary ingredient that's needed. it could have been anyone's blood but amara's blood was already available which made it easier for quetsiah.

it was also used for creating the anchor to the other side so it'll last forever. it was considered impossible to release the anchor of amara but the existence of doppelgänger made it possible as it gave the necessary amount of power that was needed.

qetsiah later desiccated amara's (temporarily) dead body and used a spell to fossilize her before she was hidden in a cave.

Maybe before they originally met the mc there was someone that they were with that was a witch and they met the mc and the soul mate thing clicked so they broke it off for the mc. I even like the idea of the travelers if you wanted a change for the standard witch idea.

You write angst so well I think this could be really good. Add some spooky stuff in there to make a bit of a thriller, people would definitely eat it up. I personally haven't had a fic of yours I didn't like.

Well its official I'm only watching TVD for Katherine, 'Tessa', and potential Bonnie reserection. TBH I'm shipping the crap out of the idea of Tessa wanting to go to new orleans so she can meet the only man in history who just straight up hates the female dopplgangers as much as she does (Klaus). I mean she had to have gotten a chuckle out of him hunting Katherine with the intention of killing her, and sacrificing elena. :-) Klessa ♡♥♡

Okay, I wasn’t sure how to answer this, I do think the ‘beauty and beast’ and the ‘kidnapping’ trope fits them quite well. But, I’m going to choose the jealousy trope instead.

Klaus is a very possessive, controlling character who gets jealous easily. We see it time and again, he was jealous of both Rebekah and Marcel, thinking they’d leave him, he was jealous of Elijah for building a relationship with Marcel, jealous of Marcel over Cami, jealous of Tyler over Caroline, of Jackson over Hayley, etc. So, of course, if he loved Elena, or even wanted her, he’d be jealous of both the Salvatores, I imagine and of Elijah. Nor would be make any efforts to hide it, and even if he tried, it would slip past his defences.

Elena is also jealous and controlling, but to a lesser extent, I’d say. But she was jealous of Rebekah when Damon, and then Stefan slept with her, she was definitely jealous of Katherine (justifiably so given everything she must’ve dealt with over that), jealous of Quetsiah over Stefan. I definitely see Elena being jealous of Caroline if she’s with Klaus, and of people like Aurora and Hayley.

It’s why I keep using jealousy as the way to draw them closer to each other, they just can’t resist that. I can see them both, but especially Klaus, using other people to make Elena jealous, and I can see her falling for it even if she knows what he’s doing.
