Hey, Campers! Are You Ready?

Calling all Fander Writers! You have from now through April 29th to sign up for Camp Cartoon!

What's Camp Cartoon? Well, gosh, I'm so glad ya asked!

Camp Cartoon is a month-long fanfiction writing event that starts May 1. When Campers (writers) sign-up (no later than April 29th), they submit two prompts they'd like to see filled. When all the forms are in, we sort everybody into their cabins with a handy-dandy Counselor (mod) to help out.

Starting on May 1st, everybody writes!

Campers in each cabin plan together to write gift fics for the other cabins' prompts. Every story earns a cabin points and there are special bonus points for finishing all of another cabin's prompts!

All stories must be complete and posted on AO3 and/or Tumblr by the end of the day on May 31st.

Hello! I need your guys help. If you’re a current fander, an ex fander, whatever it be.

I wanna make a video talking all about the hype cycle basically for “can lying be good” especially the speculation before and the fandom after. I have most of the script written but I want a lot of visuals from this era.

I know there’s not a lot of fanders left in the fandom actively who were there for that time/posted about that. BUT IF YOU ARE OR KNOW OF ANY POSTS. Please send links or screenshots my way of anything during that era of the fandom. So any theories about what the episode was gonna be (I remember people thinking it was gonna be about Roman’s room) or after the video and stuff about Janus. Luckily I do remember this time very vividly and that’s why I wanna make this video, I found it so fascinating and a great time in the fandom.

Right now I’m specifically looking for two main things, but of course I want anything I can get. I remember Thomas posting maybe a tweet or Instagram story perhaps of him saying he was filming at a theatre and I remember everyone thinking it meant it was Roman’s room. There was also a post Joan made on their tumblr (which I believe their tumblr has been deleted) about the notes they made about the episode including like oh Patton is wearing the wrong cardigan to show it’s Janus. Stuff like that. If you can find these posts especially PLEASEEEE send me them.

But yeah! If you have any questions lmk, please share anything you have. If you can, share this post as I wanna get as much information and data as I can. Thank you!!

Sanders Sides Co-Writing Fun

Hello this is @yomica12345. There might already be some fanders already doing this but I haven't found them if they are. I just thought it would be fun to create a side blog as a space to unite sanders sides fanfiction writers who would like to find others to write with.

I'm hoping it will help inspire those who are in all sorts of positions. Those who may be suffering with writers block and would just like someone to bounce ideas off of or are looking for a proof reader. Those who think it would be fun to co-write with someone but don't know where to look for that person to write with. Those who have ideas but aren't sure where to start and could use some guidance. And maybe those looking for writing prompts specific to the sides or those who would like to offer prompts from ideas they might have themselves.

Basically I want this blog to be a safe place for fanders who love writing fanfiction and fanders who love reading fanfiction. I'm not sure how to organize things just yet but if it seems enough writers are interested in this idea then I'll get a discord running and I'll start setting things up. If you're interested in participating in anything I've mentioned whether it be writing, reading or collaborating please like and reblog this post. Hey, I was just curious, do you or any other OG Fanders know of any fanfics that were written before Accepting Anxiety? Just curious to see what the fandom was like before those videos. (Also do you know if Virgil’s tempest tongue was canonically called that or is that just popular headcanon?)

For the second question, I think that's fanon only. For the first, I don't really know, because while I am flattered you consider me an "OG Fander," I didn't start watching until November 2017, inbetween Moving On part 2 and 12 Days of Christmas. We were already post Accepting Anxiety when I came onto the scene.

@thuriweaver, do you have any insight on this? I know you and @randomslasher wrote fic pre Accepting Anxiety, do you have other recs from that time? Thanks~

Since Thomas is now going to be doing more Asides based content for simplicity sake in between Season Finale prep..I think it's about time for another QnA.

I mean it's been nearly 7 years since then. Surely some responses to questions have changed. And now that Janus and Remus would be present, I think it would be even more interesting. Sure, we ask them questions here and there on Livestreams but who's to say all of those are canon responses unless stated. Having all of them present for an official QnA reboot would be pretty fun to flesh them out a bit more and update them ya know?

I get it, it would be a bit of a harder project with picking the best questions out of the hundreds of submissions that would make sense to confirm in canon. However, it seems Thomas has a handle on all of them now and like I said, it would be a great refresher and catch up to present day growth. I mean come on, I remember when it was still called "My Personality QnA", that's how old it is and how old I am in Fander years lol.

Logan groaned, face palming, elbows resting on his desk. Well, shit.

Done (From "The Misfortunate Son" – not a SaSi fic)

“Of course, my sincere apologies,” Althorist said. A weight in Evian’s chest sunk downward as the devil’s tone deepened. “You need him. To speak with him, again.” “Where did you find that idea,” Evian muttered, ignoring the watery fog on the edges of his vision. It shouldn’t have hurt that much to talk about himself. He's done it all the time. “I want nothing to do with Icarus anymore. He’s ruined it.” Evian was lying through his teeth.

Finally, a reply back from Logan: Really, the Hilton? That’s only a few miles away from my Double Tree. Virgil scoffed. Of course, Logan saved up in time for a better hotel. Virgil sent back: Small world, big city, huh? “Virgil, darling, where would you like me to hang your suit…?” Virgil’s boyfriend Janus stood off near the hotel’s couch. His voice was a song, sweet but impatient, and he waved Virgil’s purple tux around by the hanger on his finger.

Dead (From "Kingdoms for a Mind")

Logan glances off and skirts around Janus’s stare, buying him time to wipe away his tears. The prince was staring directly at him: no side-eye, no downturn of the nose, but direct. It was unnerving and unlike him. Janus sniffs by way of a conversation starter, and Logan looks over to him. His direct stare has not changed or faltered. Yet now, there is a strange shine to it. “Do you like him?” Janus asks lowly, almost breathlessly. His eyebrows make lines between themselves. Logan last remembered Janus use that tone when they had found Remus, half-dead in his prison cell – Will he be alright? — afraid and unsure. Or perhaps that’s just how just Logan feels right now.

Operation Resume Rescue by myapathyhaspeaked Canonverse (Gen) Rating: T The Dragon Witch makes the sides real and human for one day. They spend most of it attempting to bring Thomas paperwork. Notes: Chaotic and funny as hell.

you look bizarre, in the apricot by mostlycyanide Canon/Welcome to Night Vale Crossover (Karrot Kings) Rating: NR In which the sides were fictional, until Thomas and Nico made the dubious choice to move to Night Vale. Notes: An unhinged epistolary documenting Thomas's adaptation to living (and working as a YouTuber) in Night Vale.

it takes two by world_wanderer Canon AU (Gen) Rating: G Thomas and Nico have a very different meeting, encountering one another through a mutual acquaintance at a theater wrap party. Also Nico can hear people's thoughts. (And he really isn't ready for just how loud it is in Thomas's head.) Notes: A fun little tweak to the Canon 'verse making things just a little bit stranger (and a lot more awkward).

Dream Boy by StarStorm21 Canon AU (Karrot Kings) Rating: G Nico falls asleep beside Thomas one night and meanders through Thomas's mind in a dream, meeting his sides. (The sides are all just as confused by the experience as he is.) Notes: Falls heavily into the "AU" category since the sides are apparently just one manifestation of a larger, stranger ability that Thomas seems to have. It also presents a unique fun and surreal version of the mindscape with Nico being taken along for the ride.

so tell me, what's your motive? by employedoutlaw Canonverse (Karrot Kings) Rating: G In his relationship with Thomas, Nico has gotten close to most of his sides, but Janus still doesn't seem to like him. Nico makes an attempt to understand Janus better through engaging him in a game of questions. Notes: This is a great character piece about Janus, and it's really cleverly written.

somebody who loves you for yourself by Story_Teller_of_Untold_Legends Canonverse (Karrot Kings) Rating: G Nico unexpectedly develops the ability to see the sides, and takes time to get to know them one by one. Notes: Another sweet, fluffy one, in which Nico takes the time to flirt with and flatter each side individually.

Those Ghosts of Yours… by EmmaRzHere Canonverse/Canon AU (Karrot Kings) Rating: G Nico has become convinced that his new boyfriend is extremely haunted. As incidents pile up, he's finally forced to confront him about it. Notes: AU where developing sides is a little known but not unheard of ability. From Nico's uninformed perspective, early parts of this read like a ghost story.
