Reposted from @spunnomadittyco Me and Chastity from @dyehardyarns_op have created a weekly Queer Stitch Group and it is very special to me because I've never been accepted in many queer spaces, I never felt comfortable or safe! Most of the queer spaces are filled with white cis people that either have been blatantly racist, sugar coated their racism and/or looked the other way when it happens. Those "safe" spaces were not made for me and they absolutely excluded whatever was below their standards of queerness, you had to fit in their narrow box to "fit" in. That's why when Chastity suggested the notion of creating a space for us I jumped on it, I want to be surrounded by those who don't fit in and those who appreciate the people that lifted them up! I want a space where people can feel like they are at home, a space where people won't be judged by what makes them special! That's what we want to create an actual safe space for queers! I really like the way the cables draw down the hat between the ears. Accentuates them rather nicely. First hat I've finished off in (double checks) two and a half -- almost three -- weeks. Wow. Had a lot going on. Work being extra stressful has had me just exhausted constantly. And I let myself get hung up on that blue hat that just wasnt working out for me. I'm not the biggest fan of the main stitch, but I couldnt fine a better compliment to the cables that didnt misshape them or distract from them as the main design. But I think that's mostly just because I'm not a fan of DCs. Still gotta add the pink and then do the other side. These cables are fun to make. I think this hat is gonna be really cute. Took a few days off for my mental health. Work has really been getting to me and now that I've got some backup finally, I've let myself relax and release a lot of the tensions and stress that I've been bottling up. My newest hat is coming along smoothly. Glad to finally get back to my hook and yarn after a few long days without time or energy to craft. Life has been kicking my ass the last few days. I am now officially the only person remaining on what should be a four person team. I am exhausted and my body aches. I've just been too tired for yarn crafting. Course, it didnt help, that when I did have time, I had to frog out over half a hat and redo it all. Its finished now though. Back to work tonight though. Heres to 3 more 9+ hour shifts no break. Not gonna lie, I was very excited to be all but done with this project - all that's left is to cut and weave ends and sew it up. That is... until I went to post this picture. And I saw the very distinct disruption of the pattern. And now I cannot go on, knowing this. I *must* fix it. And so there may or may not be a frog video incoming tomorrow. :( I'll be honest though. My latest adventure. This has been an interesting and challenging experience because tunisian crochet changes the wat I have to tension my yarn and hook. It's strange but familiar all at once. There have been a couple of frog's, but nothing major. It's going along smoothly and I expect to be done soon. This palette makes me think of cute bees and now I want to make one of those chunky bees that are all the rage right now. Learning tunisian crochet this week. I've had this hook for ages but never used it before. Tying up loose ends today. Finished the second panel of the demiflag hat and stitched them together. I really like how the triangle flows across the ears on this hat.
