FRIEDAYS 1'23 #3 ~ Kia Ora (Soon) Kyu!
Had a lovely chat with our lovely best friend, Queenie Lee, to catch up and update our status on going to New Zealand by the 5th, including planning to meet up in time for her birthday on the 11th.

Tentative details are as follows:
Kyu (and Steph) to travel to Christchurch from up north;
Accommodations in Campos family residence;
Road trip to Queenstown and see Aurora Australis
Really happy that we will soon be reunited and will be much closer. And one step closer on building a more meaningful and peaceful life in New Zealand. Kia Ora (soon) Kyu!

Brief
I am thinking of creating a photographic series of Queenstown, New Zealand, which highlights the beauty of the area with its lakes, snow-capped mountains, and waterfalls is a wonderful project.
Objective: To capture the breathtaking natural beauty of Queenstown, New Zealand, showcasing the stunning landscapes, pristine lakes, snow-covered peaks, and cascading waterfalls that make it a unique destination.
Lake Wakatipu: Begin by capturing the tranquility and vastness of Lake Wakatipu. Experiment with different times of the day to showcase the changing moods of the lake - dawn, day, sunset, and night.
The Remarkables Mountain Range: Focus on the snow-capped peaks of "The Remarkables" mountain range. Emphasize the contrast between the rugged mountain terrain and the serene lakes below.
Waterfalls: Explore the waterfalls in the region, such as the Bowen Falls in Milford Sound and the Secret Waterfall near Queenstown. Capture the motion and the play of light on the cascading water.
Sunrise and Sunset: Dedicate a section of your series to capture the spectacular sunrises and sunsets over Queenstown and its surroundings. Use different vantage points for each.
Night Photography: Capture the night sky over Queenstown, especially in areas with minimal light pollution. Include shots of starry skies, the Milky Way, or the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) if you have the opportunity.

A wander in New Zealand by Trey Ratcliff Via Flickr: It's a beautiful summer now here in New Zealand. There are so many little places to go for a wander and enjoy the season. The best thing is down here on the South Island, it rarely gets about 75 degrees (22 C). The last two days have been a little hotter than that... but a good excuse to open all the windows in the house (no one really has air conditioning down here!).

The Southern Lights: Aurora Australis
Minoru: "I can remember the peak solar activity period between 1989 and 1990, 2000 and 2001 while taking these pictures. The Southerns Lights could already be seen during astronomical twilight. This means this appearance was quite strong."
