i dont understand music genres and at this point im too afraid to ask
#*deep space noises*#they cross over so much#which apart from confusion generally isnt an issue#apart from ppl being snobby#or#until you get into music based subcultures where many members get Very specific#abt what does and does not count#like the cure is a goth band but the cure also apparently hates being labelled as a gothic rock band#and friday i’m in love in relation to that is not something i would ever associate with goth#ppl also apparently argue if green day is punk a lot#honestly it seems like as soon as pop is brought into the mix ppl get v squirmy#which IN ITSELF is a hugely confusing ‘category’#it just means popular music#if a punk song becomes popular is it no longer punk??#queen is rock but arent they also pop given how popular they were and continue to be?#idk man ppl get so mad abt genre stuff and im just like. i like this song :)
