An Epilogue
A/N: I'M BACK IN THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN!!! I am back on my Milarion bullshit which I haven't been on since I was like ten years old! Loved Wings of Starlight! But was hoping the book would have had an epilogue set post Secret of the Wings. It didn't, so this is my take on an attempt at that! Hope you guys enjoy it! Xxxxxxx

It had been a very long day.
One that Queen Clarion was sure would find it's way into the history books of Pixie Hollow.
So far, the dust-keepers had found no damage to the Pixie Dust Tree. But Clarion had installed an around the clock rota to continue doing checks just in case.
And with the temperature currently in a perfect balance to keep the Winter fairies cool and the Warm fairies heated, it made sense for some of the frost-talent fairies to stay the night instead of sending them all the way back to Winter so that they could have a rotation of rest before getting straight back to their work of trying to unthaw the world of Pixie Hollow.
Clarion had explained as much to Artemis when she had informed her that Lord Milori would be staying in the palace that night.
Judging by the raided bridge of her dark eyebrow, Artemis did not approve of Clarion's request. But when Clarion insisted that she could have the night off to spend time with her wife, there was little she could do to refuse.
"If he tries anything, I will kill him." Artemis said, regardless of the fact that Milori was waiting besides them. Thankfully he did not appear offended, only slightly confused.
Clarion could not blame Artemis for wanting to protect her from the person that she only knew as the boy who had broken her heart. In all her years of existence, Clarion had yet to find anyone more loyal than the scout standing in front of her; something made all the more evident by the fact that ever after the endless promotions that Clarion had bestowed upon her, the scout-talent fairy still retained her original duty as her night-time guard.
"I appreciate your concern." Clarion said in sincerity.
Artemis nodded. Then with one last glare in Milori's direction, she started to march towards her quarters.
When she turned the corner, Clarion could still hear how the the prosthetics of her leg, echoed in time with the soft sway of the Palace's wooden walls, as though even separated, the wood was still part of the Pixie Dust Tree, just as the prosthetic was a part of Artemis.
With the scout gone, Clarion turned her attention back to Milori, who was already looking at her with such open want she swore she could feel it in the air.
She fiddled with the bedroom handle, hoping to hide her blush as she stepped inside.
She had been offered Queen Elvina's room after her passing. But Clarion had kept the room she had occupied as a Princess. And besides from the new crowns that Petra had created for her, the room had seen few additions. Until now.
Or it would have if she had not felt Milori falter at the threshold of her room.
It was only then that she realised that due to everything that had happened, she hadn't had the time to tidy her room. It felt childish, not that she'd ever truly known was it was like to be a child, to worry about such things. Yet she couldn't help but be bashful of the glasses of golden glitter left opened on her dresser or how the iced wind of the frost must've frozen then shattered the pot of ink on her writing desk.
But Milori was not looking at her desk. Instead he stared at the view beyond her balcony window, of the ice capped mountains of Winter that glistened like diamonds under the glow of the stars.
Now there had been many reasons behind why Clarion had kept her old room. It had been the only place she could ever truly call her own and even though Elvina had long returned to the stars, to sleep in the place that had once been her sanctuary felt wrong. Although the main reason was that every night, Clarion could look beyond the branches of her balcony to the Winter Woods, as though she was looking through the bars of a self imposed prison of guilt, to serve as a reminder of the consequences of her selfishness.
"My home is carved into the caves of those mountains." The soft astonishment in Milori's tone drew her from her thoughts. "Every night I would look for the light of the Pixie Dust Tree. Sometimes, I told myself that even against the dust, I could pick out the starlight of your glow. But I until now I didn't truly believe that I was actually looking at you."
He looked at her now as though he still couldn't truly believe that she was in front of him, like she was a star that had somehow fallen within his touch. She could scarcely believe that he was here herself. It had been nearly four-hundred years since she had allowed herself to dream what it would be like to show him her home. And was a strange comfort to know that her longing had not been alone.
"Perhaps one day, you could show me yourself."
"I suppose it would be only fair, after you graciously allowed me to see your lovely room." Milori said, his grey eye's lingering on the yellow covers of her unmade bed as he finally crossed the threshold towards her. "May I ask where will I be spending the night?"
Clarion worried that Milori's sharp wits hadn't dulled over the years, as she did not want to dwell in the ensuing awkwardness as she explained what she had hoped had been obvious.
Then she caught the small upturn of the corner of his smile.
She couldn't help the laughter that bubbled out of her. The sound only igniting even more as though all the laughter she'd kept from her birth spilled out of her.
Milori's hands came to steady her, his thumps pressing into the crooks of her elbows to stead her as she threatened to double over.
"Sorry." She said between fits of giggles. "It's-it's… It's just been so long since I've head my own laugh!"
"For me it has been three-hundred and seventy-eight years, six months and eleven days."
Suddenly her laugh was stolen in a gasp and she launched her lips against his as though they were her last chance for air.
The kiss the pair had shared before that Fairy Mary had exclaimed such scandalised shock at, had been chaste.
Briefly, Clarion wondered what Mary would thing of her now, before her every thought was overtaken by the feeling of Milori's lips against her own.
Despite the chill in the air she felt feverish as she kissed him with abandon. Her hand found the nape of his neck. His hair was shorter than it had been then, but still long enough for her grab a fistful, as she pulled him closer. Warmth blossomed inside her core, as his hands held her waist, holding her flush against him. Through the paper like petals of fabric, she could feel the quickened pace of his pulse it beat in time with hers.
Though even those petals began to feel like a barrier as she flung her arm around his shoulder in desire to be as close to him as possible.
Milori must have thought the same as the hand that had been cradling her lower back, slipped underneath her dress.
Then her finger brushed his wing.
As though scolded, she snatched her hand away.
Milori let her go, snapping his hands back to his side as she scrambled away.
"I'm sorry," Milori said, fists balled as though having to physically hold them back from offering her comfort. "I shouldn't have-"
"I destroyed your wing!" She cried, unhearing to his words as the guilt that had creeping up inside her like a glacier burst like a damn. "I injured you beyond repair! How can you even look at me?"
She turned away to face the mountainous view and with Milori standing behind her, she felt trapped between her two most selfish sources of guilt.
She dared not move, as doing so would mean that she did not deserve it.
"I was the one who decided to cross and it was not you but the sun that melted my wings." Milori did not touch her, instead she heard the soft yet sturdy sound of footsteps as he came to stand behind her. "Besides with your beauty, how can I not look at you?"
Her stomach betrayed her as it fluttered at his words. But that didn't stop it from also feeling sick.
"You do not judge Artemis for her prosthetics, do you?"
"Of course not." She said, that royal conviction snapping into her tone. She could never do such a thing to any of her subjects but especially not to one of her dearest friends.
"I have lived my life twenty times over since the loss of my wings. They are as a part of me as the white of my hair or the grey of my eyes. Please," An edge of ice kept into Milori's tone. "Do not pity me Clarion."
The use of her name, pulled her to him. He had still been one of the few to call her that without her titles. Finally she turned around, only to find that he was not facing her. Instead the broken expanse of his wings was the sight that greeted her.
This close, she could see how the melted edges of his wound has snapped like an incomplete spider's web, the silk-like flesh that had once been a light blue now empty of colour, as they lay limp against his skin.
"Did it hurt?" She asked, unable to stop the question from tumbling out.
"It was the most painful experience of my life." He paused as his breath caught. "Until I had to say goodbye to you."
Then he turned around and in the reflection of her golden golden glow, Clarion was hit with the full force of conviction in those dark grey eyes.
"I would have given my leg, my head and my heart if it meant saving you. But more then that, I would have gladly given up my wings if it meant I could just be with you."
If it weren't for her duty to her people, she would have given her wings to be with him too. And she knew that he knew that and understood that too.
Clarion reached behind his back. After he gave a gentle nod, she touched the edge of his broken wing. It was softer than she had expected and still tingling with warmth. As she traced along the shattered spirals, she felt him shudder underneath her.
"Can you still feel this?" She asked.
"Y-yes." He said, unable to keep the tremble from his voice.
With her other hand, she cupped the curve of his chin. Underneath his ageless beauty, she felt the faded marks of old scars. One she did not know the origins of, only that she had not been there to protect him from them.
"I need you to know that I never pitied you." She told him, her voice as strong as when she spoke to all her subjects. "I only ever admired and respected and loved you."
In her eyes, she saw that admiration of hope that she had inspired all those years ago.
"I have only ever loved you too."
She reached up to meet him in the same moment that he bowed his head.
The kiss was unlike the desperate passion before. Nor was it like the sweet chaste of the one earlier. It was somewhere in the middle. A push of a promise that their love would no longer remain in the past, but could bloom in the present once more.
And this time, when Milori's hand slipped beneath her dress, she did not pull away.

Tell me you don't understand the realm you rule over without telling me you don't understand the realm you rule over. Queen Elvina, who plans to get Clarion to take a lightsaber and sever Winter from Pixie Hollow, is going to go first.

The Stars made her pretty to distract from the fact that she didn't take an ecology course & is also planning to doom Winter to Annihilation by Eldritch Ender Dragon & Co via a Very Stupid Plan Involving A Fairy-sized Lightsaber and Chopping Tree Roots That Probably Shouldn't Be Chopped.
(I still hate Queen Elvina, but nobody else is going to draw her (probably) and so here I am to deliver).

So I really want to indulge and tell you all about how I think On The Borderline by Blixemi is a near-perfect song for Queen Clarion and Lord Milori as someone who read Wings of Starlight.
So the song is based on forbidden lovers who are separated by a political border, but it’s still dangerous to cross all the same. Crowfeather (the man in the song) is more excited at the prospect of crossing and changing things, while Leafpool (the woman in the song) is more conflicted as she is torn between her duty, what she’s always known, and love.
Now let’s get into the lyrics:
Am I a fool to even come?
Crowfeather, who I see as Milori, is waiting at the border and is wondering if his waiting is for nothing.
So I stand on the edge of this line. Counting every single breathless beat to pass the time.
I mean I wonder what Milori does while waiting at sunset sometimes. This feels plausible.
Between my head and my heart
Leafpool, who I see as Clarion, is torn between her head (duty as queen) and her heart (her love for Milori)
But the path laid out here in sand shifts below no matter where I stand, but all I want is not a choice.
Clarion cannot just choose to not be queen. There is no other option, no matter where she goes she will be a governing-talent fairy. She will always make the sand shift.
All it took was a moment, all my plans had changed. Everything I thought I wanted now is not the same.
Clarion has been told to rule a certain way all of her life by Elvina, but she is later convinced to find her own way of using her magic and ruling. She finds that she wants to be different from Elvina.
So I pray for a break in the time. Counting every single reason I should cross that line.
Clarion wants time to visit Milori and cross the border to meet the winter fairies, and she counts on those reasons to cross.
I'm on the borderline of breaking down all the rules, and the dreams I built my whole life around.
Here, breaking down is emphasized by Blixemi. Its shows how torn she is. Despite being so close to breaking the rules, she still feels it’s wrong to do so because she was told she was supposed to be this one thing her entire life.
Am I a fool to chase the sun?
Crowfeather, who I see as Milori, expresses this. I think seeing Clarion as the sun is cute is all.
Laid before me is an unchanged course… I want to change my tide just once.
Clarion cannot abandon her people, and yet she still desires to make changes and rebel against what she is told.
I'm on the borderline of making a mistake-would-be to hold back, I've gotta know what this means.
Clarion knows that she needs to find out what she can about the nightmares. For that, she crossed the border. This could be considered a mistake by her friends and the current queen, but she rightfully believes it would be a mistake to abandon the winter fairies instead.
Still I wait here every time, for a chance of a glance by her side, I'd ask the sun not to rise.
Milori and Clarion meet at sunsets on the border, and Milori would be more accustomed to nightly cold. I think this would be him wishing to spend more time with her.
Still I waste each day and night fighting shifts
Clarion has to go about royal duties, aka shifts, but feels she is wasting time instead of going to fix the nightmare problem with Milori.
It's a breakdown or a breakthrough. My sanity can't seem to choose. I'm losing a war between logic and you.
This is coming up to the point where Clarion is realizing she and him would only bring each other, and potentially the other fairies, suffering while being together.
I can't stay… on the borderline.
Clarion wants to stay with Milori, but knows she can’t, so she expresses they can’t be together.
Our heart is on the line.
Instead of treating their love as the number one focus in their lives, they separate for the sake of Pixie Hollow, having to disregard their feelings.
Anyways those are all the lyrics I felt like touching on! Just trying to convince someone out there that this song is perfect for these two >-< Thanks for reading!

Okay, this is going to be a post gushing about the outline of What's Your Story because I can't hold it in anymore.
When I first started writing WYS it was originally only going to be one book. Then it expanded to two. Now I realize that I've put these poor characters through so much shit that two books might end up meaning three or more. For the sake of clarity however, I'm going to be referring to them as books one and two.
Book one centres on Melantha Tollemache as I'm sure I've made clear by now. It'll take you through her and her brother gaining their powers, her family slowly falling apart, and her eventually running away. Then there'll be some stuff from Brandon’s pov as he discovers some unusual things about himself, eventually leaving town as well. Then it flips over to Alexander and shows his adventures in the afterlife, because even dying isn't easy for the Tollemache twins. This is what I'm calling act 1 of book 1. In theory there will be five acts in book one. Act 1 is obviously the most fleshed out, but I do have a basic idea of what will happen with the others. Act 2 will introduce and deal with the chaos god. Act 3 with introduce other worlds as well as the Organization and Faine. Act 4 will be the introduction of @thelovelymachinery 's world, trying to fight the org, and help the other worlds. Act 5 will be the final battle between the Order and the Org.
Book 2 follows Melantha and August's kids, the triplets Alexander, Amelia, and Arya. This book is less fleshed out than the first one, but I hope to organize it so that it has five acts as well. Act 1 will be them realizing their mother has disappeared, along with several other key figures in their lives. Act 5 will be them going to where they've found out their mother is and dealing with things there. Obviously I don't have the middle bit planned out too well. It'll come to me, don't worry.
I also may or may not have plans for a third book, but this is a very recent addition (as in a couple days ago), so I can't really comment on it right now.
Now then, here comes the crazy part.
I have a character creating addiction. I make characters that are meant to be side characters, then fall in love with them and make them an entire backstory and storyline. This has happened several times. As such, I believe I have material for a prequel and at least four spin off books. Yes, you heard me right.
The prequel will follow the gods. The acts will be called incidents in this one. I don't know how many there'll be in total, but so far I have The Corucia Incident, The Plutorath Incident, and The Eorianor Incident. The Eorianor Incident will most likely be the last act of the prequel.
Spinoff one will be based on Vreoxemund. This one will be two books. Book 1 Act 1 will be about how humans originally split off from vampires and about the first war between the two species. Act 2 will be about the rise of the Arany and Quintus families. Act 3 will be about the rise and fall of King Móric Kóbor, and the rise of King Firmin and Queen Louna, and the rise of Queen Dorina Arany. Act 4 will discuss the life of Crown Princess Aurélia Noyer, King Firmin and Queen Louna's daughter. Act 5 will be the death of King Edvard Arany and the rise of King Brian Quintus and the coming of the org to Vreoxemund.
Book 2 Act 1 will be the havoc the org wreaks on Vreoxemund and the plans for their removal being laid. Act 2 will be the fall of King Brian and the removal of the org for Vreoxemund. Act 3 will be the whispers of war between the vampires and the humans, and the new Queen Elvina's desperate attempts to hold everything together. Act 4 will be the beginning of the war. Act 5 will be its end.
Spinoff two will be on Shussuthas. Act 1 will be about Artemis Daniels' childhood, her schooling, and how she became a slave. It will show the corruption and cruelty of the Shussuthasian government through a child's eyes. Act 2 will be about Artemis meeting befriending and eventually becoming the adopted sister of Apollina, and about the sisters meeting Dr. Apricity Popov. Act 3 will be about how Dr. Popov manages to free the girls, and how Apollina creates the Sunlight Movement, a group dedicated to ending the slavery and injustice of Shussuthas. Act 4 will be the arrival of the org on Shussuthas and how it changes things for the Sunlight Movement. Act 5 will be the final fight for freedom.
Spinoff three is on Streosialyn. I'm not sure how or what exactly I'm going to do with this one, so I'm going to hold off talking too much about it for now. I do know however that it will follow Avani Xu, the daughter of the earth goddess Adamina and a man from Streosialyn, as she works to free her world from the org.
As you can see, each of these spinoffs have been about a different world. Ideally, I will eventually have a spinoff for each world. That may take awhile, but I already have some ideas kicking around, so I'm sure I'll get there.
The final spinoff is set back on earth. Act 1 follows a young Mark Zimmerman and his sister Agata through their time at the Horizon Institute. Act 2 covers Mark's escape and search for safety. Act 3 sees Mark reconnect with old friends from the Institute in the Order, as they plan to expose the Institute and take it down. Act 4 shows Kiara Prince's sabotage of the Institute from the inside as she tries to work her way to the top and cut off the head. Act 5 is the final downfall of Horizon.
This is a massive lore drop and I hope you guys like it. I've had these plans kicking around, not sure how I was going to fit them into the one story, for a good long time now. Finally I said to Hell with keeping it one story and decided to pull these shenanigans instead.
I hope you're all as excited as I am.

And so our story begins…
Long ago, in a faraway and snowy kingdom, there lived a princess. Her name was Zoeand today was her 16th birthday! Zoe’s father, King Andre, approached his daughter’s room, armed with her birthday present…only to discover she wasn’t there, immediately sending the whole palace into a panic and infuriating her mother, Queen Audrey. (If they had bothered actually looking in her room, they would have found the note she left.)
Meanwhile, a ways away from the palace, the young princess is enjoying her favorite pastime, ice skating, at which she’s the best in the kingdom! Just then, she happens to crash into an adorable polar bear cub, who she quickly befriends, and seeing she seems to have no family, names her Pollen for her love of flowers and decides to take her home!
But when she arrives, she finds her angry mother and worried father waiting for her. Her mother reminds her that she is absolutely forbidden to leave the castle, with her father hastily adding ‘without permission’. Frustrated with their constant restrictions, Zoe asks for the hundredth time why they are so against her leaving the palace, and for the hundredth time, her mother’s glare silences her father’s attempts to explain.
Disgusted that Zoe brought a wild animal home with her and fed up with her ‘defiance’, Audrey forbids Zoe from ever going skating again, devastating the girl, who runs to her room in tears as Andre feels this may be going too far.
That night, as Zoe lays on her bed, frustratedly ranting to Pollen about her controlling parents, she hears music out of her open window. Stepping out on the balcony, she sees many of the villagers skating on the frozen town square, having a celebration to honor the princess’ birthday, go figure. Smiling to herself, Zoe decides that, what better way would there be to thank them for thinking of her today than to make an appearance? She almost never gets to meet any of her subjects, after all!
Donning her favorite dress and stealing back her skates from where Audrey hung them, Zoe sneaks out of the palace. As Zoe arrives, everyone seems to freeze as they watch the princess skate, but she quickly resumes the party with her good humor, skating with a few of the village children before dazzling everyone with her amazing talent on the ice.
But it’s at that moment that the sky is filled with a strange green mist, and from this a griffin swoops down, a man with an arrogant but dangerous air about him astride it. Swaggering up to Zoe, the man declares she is indeed the most beautiful girl in all the land. He introduces himself as Xavier…her future husband, which Zoe does not take very well at all, because who does this guy think he is?
Having seen the mist appear in the sky, Audrey and Andre arrive, with the latter telling Xavier firmly to leave Zoe alone, a demand which is sneeringly denied, along with a smug reminder of what happened to their ‘other daughter’, which confuses Zoe, because since when did she have a sister?
Having had enough of this situation, Zoe demands answers from her parents and for Xavier to leave, because no way in HELL is she going to marry him! In response, Xavier uses his staff to turn both her parents and all of her subjects into statues, with the ultimatum that he will only free them if she gives in, horrifying Zoe. He also adds that she’s more than welcome to join them if she’s still getting cold feet.
But it’s at that moment that something crazy happens. A beautiful golden pegasus with a shining blonde mane swoops down from the sky and rescues Zoe, whisking her away from Xavier, who warns that Zoe has three days to change her mind before his spell becomes permanent.
As they ride through the sky, the dumbstruck Zoe is surprised to discover the pegasus is able to speak, explaining that Xavier is an incredibly powerful sorcerer who takes what he wants when he wants, and that she’s taking Zoe to the Cloud Kingdom, where she’ll be safe. But when Zoe asks who she is and why she saved her, the pegasus answers that her name is Chloe but hesitates on the second question.
They then arrive at the beautiful cloud palace, and are greeted by the three princesses, Candace, Staci and Eloise. Zoe then meets the Cloud Queen, Dahlia, and explains her situation as best she can with Chloe’s help. Dahlia gives her a beautiful new dress and a comfortable room to stay in, and it’s then that Zoe learns from Staci that Chloe, as in the pegasus, is her sister.
Sensing Chloe’s distress, Dahlia steps up to explain. Just like with Zoe, it had been Chloe’s 16th birthday, when Xavier appeared from the sky. When Chloe, just like her sister, had refused to marry him, and her parents ordered him to leave, he transformed the young princess into a pegasus, inspired by the kingdom’s coat of arms. With the spell unable to be broken, Chloe had fled the kingdom and taken refuge with Dahlia and her girls. Zoe is extremely upset, because why the hell was she never told any of this?! Chloe honestly can’t think of a good answer in defense of their parents.
Desperate to save her people and help her sister, Zoe is certain there must be a way to defeat Xavier, with Staci suggesting something called a Wand of Light, only to be shushed by Candace, who reminds her that Chloe doesn’t like talking about it. At Zoe’s insistence, Dahlia explains that a Wand of Light has the most powerful magic of all, but you can’t just find one, you have to build it. And to do that, you need three things: a measure of courage, a ring of love, and a gem of ice lit by Hope’s eternal flame.
Zoe is sure that they can gather the components in time, it’s only three things after all! But Chloe bitterly insists that it’s only a fairytale, she’s tried for years and accomplished nothing. But after encouragement from her sister, she agrees to give it one more shot! Before they leave, Chloe takes Zoe to see the Cloud Princesses paint the clouds for the sunrise, filling the sky with beautiful color and giving both girls the courage they need. Dahlia gives Chloe a necklace with a magical bell that she can ring if she ever needs the Cloud Queen’s help, and they’re off.
Meanwhile, back at his dark palace, Xavier is, as always, cruelly berating his three previous wives, who he transformed into trolls once he grew bored of them, and forces to serve his every whim. He prepares the castle to welcome his new bride, hoping this one won’t…disappoint him.
The two sisters begin their journey in the deepest, darkest part of the Forbidden Forest, a place filled with shadows and monsters. They’re both more than a little rattled…even more so when they hear footsteps besides their own, and a frightened Pollen falls through a hole down a long slide, and the sisters are suddenly caught in a net trap! It’s at this moment, they meet Cosette, a surly young blacksmith who’s lived in the Forbidden Forest for years. She cuts the two down and they exchange introductions. Zoe asks where the tunnel Pollen fell through leads to, to which Cosette only sarcastically answers ‘big trouble’. When her request to be taken there is declined, Zoe promptly jumps down the tunnel, leading Cosette and Chloe to deduce that she’s crazy.
It turns out that the tunnel empties directly into the cooking pot of a giant named Ollie, who plans to cook the princess and her cub for lunch. However, with some quick thinking, Zoe is able to get him to try and prove his strength as a giant compared to others she’s met (a lie, but he doesn’t need to know that), culminating in him chaining himself to the wall, while Zoe uses her hair ribbon and a fork as a grappling rope to climb out, bidding the giant goodbye before he manages to collapse his entire house on himself!
When Zoe reunites with her sister, and surprisingly Cosette, who cared a bit more than they let on about Zoe getting hurt. It’s then that Zoe’s hair ribbon starts to glow, and Chloe notes that it’s her exact measure! A measure of courage! Now that they have the first piece of the Wand of Light, Zoe is feeling a great deal of confidence about their chances, but Cosette believes that they’re chasing fairytales. It’s then that Zoe realizes that once they have all three pieces, they’ll need a smith to put them together, and she asks for their help. Though she doesn’t let on, what Zoe says about needing to do the right thing gets to Cosette, and it agrees to help them. With that, they set out to find the gem of ice!
The two make their way up into the snowy mountains, where they come to a ramshackle shop run by an old acquaintance of Cosette, Wayhem. The young blacksmith states that he’s a good-for-nothing thief, but if there’s one thing he knows, it’s jewels! They enter the shop, and are both flustered when Wayhem mistakes them as a couple. Zoe explains what they’re looking for, and gives him her skates in exchange for what he knows. He tells them about a gem that may fit the description, but that it’s cursed, which is why he never went after it himself. Taking the map he gives them, they make their way further up into the mountains.
After traveling for hours, they decide to rest in a cave for the night so Chloe and Cosette’s horse can rest. Cosette builds a fire to keep them warm, and they get a good night’s sleep. As they exit the cave, Zoe notices the peak of a mountain in the distance, gleaming like a gem in the rising sun, and knows that’s where they need to go. Chloe flies them up to the mountain peak, and they enter an icy cave.
Back at Wayhem’s shop, Xavier arrives after being called by the scavenger, who shows him the princess’ skates, but refuses to divulge any more until given proper incentive. Xavier realizes that Zoe intends to build a Wand of Light, and goes to leave… but not before he changes Wayhem into a literal doormat and takes back the money he paid him!
Back at the icy mountain cave, the four companions stumble upon a message on the wall, which Cosette is able to read: “Beware…take only what you need, but never from greed.” A passageway opens, and they make their way down into the cave, emerging in a cave filled with beautiful gems made of ice. Zoe is drawn to a particular one, and chooses it as the gem for the wand…but Cosette also takes one. However, the cave doesn’t collapse, revealing she needed it for an unselfish reason. Zoe wants to ask about it, but must hold off until later, as unfortunately, the cave now IS collapsing because Pollen, who has more than once shown a love for shiny things, has taken as many gems as she can hold. Thankfully, Chloe gets them all out just in the nick of time!
Arriving back at the cave they spent the night, the only component remaining is a ring of love, with Cosette suggesting maybe they could forge one. As she gets a fire going, Zoe asks what Cosette needed the second ice gem for, and reluctantly, they tell their story. Its mother abandoned their family, taking most of their money with her, and Cosette accidentally blew the rest of it while trying to earn more in a game with Wayhem. She had resolved not to return home until she could pay their father back, and the ice gem should be able to do that.
Cosette will need metal to make the ring of love, and to Zoe’s surprise, Chloe offers her crown, which she deeply treasures as a reminder of what she once was. Cosette offers to use their sword instead, but Chloe insists, because she loves her sister and her people, transforming the crown into a ring. Now united, the three components of the Wand of Light begin to glow, showing they are all present. With the fire ready, Cosette begins to weld them together into the weapon that will hopefully defeat Xavier.
Once the Wand of Light is complete, Cosette presents it to Zoe, wondering how they can see if it works, but Zoe has an idea! Holding up the wand, she wishes with all her heart to break the spell on her sister. The wand begins to glow…and Chloe is changed back into a human! Overcome with joy, the two sisters share their first real hug! (Also, apparently the curse kept Chloe from aging, because she looks like she’s the same age as Zoe even though she should be like twice that, but whatever. (It was that way in the movie with Brietta, just fyi.))
Resolved to defeat Xavier, Zoe declares it’s time to go home!…the only problem is they’re miles away and Chloe can’t fly anymore… Thankfully, Chloe remembers the bell Dahlia gave her, and the Cloud Queen sends two of the Royal pegasi to transport them. It’s here that Zoe bids a reluctant goodbye to Cosette, who she has been developing mutual feelings for, and the blacksmith goes on their way.
But as the sisters are flying back to the Cloud Castle, they are attacked by Xavier and his griffin, who chases them into an icy ravine. He hits Chloe’s horse and sends her tumbling to the ground, Zoe racing down to her sister. Furious with Xavier for harming Chloe, Zoe grabs the Wand of Light, she commands it to destroy the sorcerer…but it doesn’t work.
Feeling she has no other option, Zoe agrees to be Xavier’s bride if he releases everyone. But he now rescinds the offer, as he’s not too happy about the “Destroy Him!” thing, stating that she is ‘just like his other wives’. He steals the wand of light…and then buries Zoe in an avalanche!
Having now woken up, Chloe looks for her sister. Directed by Pollen to the massive pile of snow, she begins to panic, crying out desperately for Zoe as she digs. Cosette hears her, and begins frantically helping her look. They find Zoe, but she’s ice cold and unconscious.
They bring her back to the Cloud Kingdom, where the princesses tend to her. After a few hours, Cosette and her sister’s pleas seem to reach Zoe, and she wakes up. In the heat of the moment, the princess and the blacksmith share a kiss.
Zoe realizes that it’s almost sundown, and this is the third day! They are almost out of time! The three race to Xavier’s dark castle to retrieve the Wand of Light and stop him once and for all! The Cloud Princesses slow down the sunset as much as they can to give them more time, but it may not be enough…
Back in his fortress, Xavier attempts to use the Wand of Light on his wives to make them work faster, but obviously fails, declaring it useless and tossing it aside, which causes the gem to break loose from the hilt. This happens at the same time Cosette and the royal sisters arrive, preparing to launch an ambush. While Chloe stays and tends to the horses, Cosette and Zoe skate down through a narrow tunnel, each surprised by the other’s skill. Cosette then moves to distract the griffin while Zoe sneaks into the main room, trying to find the wand. Xavier returns and nearly catches her, but he is quickly distracted by Cosette fighting his griffin. Zoe manages to find the wand, but not without the gem falling off and slipping over the edge of the balcony or before Cosette is knocked over a cliffside by the griffin!
Distraught, Zoe drops to the ground, feeling she has failed. Thankfully, someone pulls themself up from the cliffside and offers her the backup gem they took from the cave. It’s a perfect fit, but only in time for Xavier to arrive and steal it with his magic, as his griffin tackles Cosette. But he himself doesn’t hold the Wand of Light…one of his former wives does. Zoe reaches out to them, appealing that they deserve better than this, that she can make a better future for everyone. Moved by her words, they give the wand to Zoe, who wishes from the bottom of her heart, not from anger this time, to break all of Xavier’s evil spells. She is changed into a beautiful dress, and her people are unpetrified, and Xavier’s former wives are changed from trolls back into themselves! Xavier himself is changed into a pathetic little man, who will now be forced to serve the women he mistreated for the rest of his days!
Zoe returns to the kingdom with Chloe and the two confront their parents about keeping all this a secret, with Andre apologizing, stating that he always wanted to explain but Audrey forbade it. The two sisters make up for lost time and prepare to rule the kingdom together. Cosette returns to her home, and is welcomed back by their father with open arms.
A couple years later, the entire kingdom is at the Cloud Castle, celebrating Zoe and Cosette’s engagement. There’s a huge ice rink and everyone’s eyes are on the couple as they skate in a beautiful waltz.
And they all lived happily ever after!
No matter what, we always have hope! Leave your thoughts in the comments and reblogs, and watch for the next installment!

The Skeleton Queens (Info Dump)
Long-ish! Mentions of violence and lack of wings.
Lanette - The Fairy Queen of the Dark
Personality: A person who is both fearsome and cold. She is sweet in many ways, yet she can also be frightening. She has complete mastery of the shadows and is far from weak. She's a little playful, and she lunges for the throat. She is extremely powerful, and she is well aware of it. She is a bit of a flirt, and she exudes a mysterious air. She is surrounded by many powers. She is smooth and meticulous, she tips the scales in her favor, and nothing can stop her. She is also very aware of her beauty.
Appearance: She is a skeleton. She has smoky grey eyes. She has fangs and she has permanent eyeliner under her eyes. She has beautiful silver and black butterfly wings, but she hides them. She's about 5'8". She has a tail.
Olette - The Fairy Queen of the Light
Personality: A terrifying, but lovely fairy. She is incredibly powerful, but she is also compassionate and caring. She is much warmer than Lanette, but far more terrifying. She is nasty and cold to those she suspects of causing damage to her subjects and loved ones. She has an enigmatic attitude and will not hesitate to intimidate anyone she considers a threat. She is frequently silent and unthreatening until she is not. Her personality is similar to that of a cat. She has free control over light and watches from a distance rather than being hands-on.
Appearance: She is a skeleton. She has cool light gray eyes. She had silver and white butterfly wings. She, however, is presently wingless. She's about 5'8". She has a tail.
Sebille - The Fallen Queen of Angels
Personality: She formerly ruled over an angelic realm before falling. She is a stunningly gorgeous, astute, and powerful being. She is not frightened of anything and is capable of being extremely violent. She used to be a Guardian angel. She has a chilly side to her kind nature and can be nasty when necessary. She looks after the group and comes to aid with caution. She is a fallen angel with little fear. She is not afraid to stand firm and use her magic to protect her people. She also has a lot of control over her divine magic.
Appearance: She is a skeleton. She has beautiful sky-blue eye lights. She has six pairs of wings that she keeps hidden. She is about 5'6". She has a tail.
Elvina - The Fallen Queen of Demons
Personality: She was previously the ruler of a demonic realm. A fiery and angry individual. She can be cruel at times, but she is usually rational and cool. She readily looks after others and isn't scared to show how powerful she is. She is skilled in demonic magic and is not afraid to use it. She is a vicious person who goes for the throat. She isn't scared to show how frigid she can be and never backs down from a fight. She, on the other hand, is far nicer than one might expect, and she frequently looks after lost demonic children. Show just how cold, she can be. She, however, tends to be far kinder than one anticipates and she often looks after lost demonic children.
Appearance: She is a skeleton with horns, six pairs of wings, and a tail. She keeps her horns and wings hidden. She is about 6'0". She has glowing light red eye lights.

On the opposite end is the terrible ebook retelling I reread recently, remembered it being bad, didn't remember the misogyny, fatphobia, classism, and how much of an alpha man asshole the prince is. Opposite side of the spectrum from the above examples. A shame really, because the premis and plot isn't bad, just the writing. Like Slipper fits stepsister and now the prince is still trying to find the mystery girl from the ball while navigating an engagement he doesn't want. 10/10 love it, all the plot points are great, with cinderella and her stepsisters becoming friends and one of them attempting to murder the stepmother.
However the queen knowing who cinderella is and caller her a 'lesser'? The prince being appalled at 'falling for an almost servant'? The good=beautiful mean=ugly tropes?
And The prince being an asshole who can't remember his betrothed's name. I could understand if he also couldn't remember the other stepsister's name, but no he remembers Priscilla. Or if it was a couple names close to Esmeralda that the kept using. Or if it even felt like there was an attempt at remembering her name.
Like here are the names other than esmeralda the prince has called her:
Ezbeth
Ethelina
Ernalda
Earline
Elma
Esperalda
Emalia
Es
Emeranda
Euthralla
Estella
Estellarina
Egeria
Ermaline
Eve...Est (he gave up)
Efterpi
Eglantine
Ellarada
Erwanda
Evangeline
Edwerdina
Edlynne
Erzsebet (miraculously he immediately corrects himself with the right name)
Elethia
Eutullie
Eutilla
Elsela (immediately manages to correct to the right name)
Elderinda
Elphaba
Esperneldi
Ersalia
Egrecia
Eptelinda
Erstella
Espelina
Ester
Endina
Eimear
Elvina
Edwina
Elverdine
Ersilia
Esperanza
Egberta
Efrata
Erlinda
Elspeth
Erasma
Egeld...Este (seconds after hearing her name)
This is 29% of the way into tbe book. He did not commit it to memory

Thinking about the 2015(?) Live action Cinderella and how you can see the prince fall in love with ella, and at the end they call each other by titles they each probably havent heard much. Kit calling ella "my queen", something similar to what her father and mother might have called her as a child but also far more respectful than anything the stepmother called her. And in turn ella calling him "my kit" when his whole life hes likely been referred to by titles only. Like this is one of the few modern live action Cinderellas I can stand and it because you can tell they love each other. And because despite James Corden being in the movie he gets one(1) line and then is never heard from again.

Valentine's Game Day 5
Original post here
Today is about Elvina and Aradia Amaranth. Elvina is the queen of the vampires on Vreoxemund, an incredible fighter who would do anything for her people. Aradia Amaranth is an incredibly competitive Ballet dancer and Elvina's betrothed.
How did they meet?
Aereth tried to sell Aradia to Elvina because they both needed to get married. They met at Elvina's palace to see if they would be a good fit and then fell in love.
First date
Their first date was at (shocker) Aereth's coronation, where they also announced their engagement.
General Dynamic
Two impulsive people trying to stumble their way through ruling with the help of their babysitters. Aradia lets Elvina let out her mad scientist tendencies on her, and Elvina makes sure Aradia doesn't say too much stupid shit at important functions. They amplify each other's stupidly powerfulness, much to everyone's horror. Aradia makes sure Elvina takes her meds so she doesn't go slightly insane.
Fun facts!
Elvina and Aradia are both struggling to keep the other calm at all times
They are both constantly nearly being stolen/stealing other people.
Aradia Amaranth once got them lost in Elvina's maze for over three hours (a maze Elvina has completely memorized)

Needle and a Thread (Angels Fall AU Backstory)
Warnings: Mentions of war, angels, demons, death, falling, etc.
"Sebille-!" Elvina called out as the ground began to tremble. Elvina watched as Sebille was engulfed by the dirt as the ground fell. The war was raging, tearing everything apart, angels and demons fighting, but Elvina's gaze was fixed on the region.
Her thoughts were disturbed by their quarrel, which had even sparked the war between the Angels and the Demons. But all her mind could think of was "she can't fly… her wings and soul are injured!"
Needle and the thread, gotta get you outta my head. Needle and the thread, gonna wind up dead.
"Keep going!" Elvina tried to hear her general call but couldn't. She planned to do the one thing that would enrage her demons. She made a dash for the spot where Sebille had fallen. "Your Majesty!?" Elvina heard her war general call, but it was met with deafening silence.
Needle and the thread gotta get you outta my head Needle and the thread, gonna wind up dead (gonna wind up dead)
"Sebille!" As she jumped, Elvina called out. She could see her friend falling, her eyes full of fear. Her dread grew as she struggled against the wind as she dove toward her. Her hand reached out to her.
"Elvina-!" Sebille returned her call. Her thoughts returned to their history. They were, however, only minutes away from one of them dying.
Needle and the thread, gotta get you outta my head (gotta get you outta my head)
-------
"You're looking so silly, Sebille!" Elvina teased her friend when she was a small child. Sebille huffed as she concealed herself behind the flowers on her head. She was a mess. Her hair was a tangled mess from falling in the Lovers Cavern. Because their parents were away performing royal responsibilities, they fled.
"I am not!" Sebille sighed as she hurled a flower toward Elvina. Elvina chuckled when the flower smacked her in the face. Eventually, they both burst out laughing and lay on the grass. "I want us to always be like this. Promise me, Elvina." Sebille childishly asked. Elvina giggles and looks toward her.
"Promise." Elvina agreed with a large smile. They interlocked pinkies and smiled. They were best friends until they fell out with Lanette and Olette to witness it.
----------
"Your soldiers crossed the boundary, Elvina! They killed innocent people!" Sebille snapped at Elvina. Elvina stared down as the two fairy queens watched in horror.
"Your angels killed my people too." Elvina snapped back at Sebille. It wasn't childish bickering. An angel and a demon in their leagues betrayed them and they didn't know who.
But it caused a rift and thus... War was declared.
------------
Needle and the thread, gonna wind up dead (wind up dead)!
"Hold on!" Elvina grabbed Sebille's hand and called to her. Their divine and demonic magics ignited and collided. Elvina drew near to Sebille, who clung to her childhood companion.
"I'm sorry!" Sebille apologized as she closed her eyes, and Elvina realized that neither of them would live.
"It's not your fault, you were tricked... I'm sorry." Elvina apologized as the two hurriedly approached the ground. Everything that transpired was their fault. Olette losing her wings, angels and demons fighting, a corrupted angel and a rogue demon rising through the ranks… They were both going to die, though. They were unable to repair anything.
Needle and the thread, gotta get you outta my head, get you outta my head!
----
They awoke again after everything turned black. They were in a familiar setting. Lanette and Olette arrived barely in time to save them. They were unable to return as the conflict carried on and their wounds healed. Times had altered by the time they reappeared.
Into the times they wished they were born into... A time when angels and demons could just co-exist and be friends.
