Y’all. We’re trialing two of these at our gym, but they haven’t been ready for use. Today’s workout was pretty solid, and we were all expecting a rowing machine finisher. Our coach said, “Nah, we’re gonna fuck up your quads. Come with me.”
Two rounds: 25 calories, for time, rest while someone else goes.
Holy shit. Cycling was my main form of fitness for a decade. I was a strong rider. 7-10k miles a year, multiple centuries per year, steep climbs, hard sprints, etc... Even though I don’t ride outside anymore, I’m still good on the assault bike and like to think I have pretty strong quads. These machines are a special level of hell. That flywheel makes it virtually impossible to ever get in a steady rhythm, you have to always be putting in a hard effort, and it *shreds* your legs. We’re a reasonably fit group, and everyone was a bit wobbly after two rounds going all out on those.
It’ll be fun to figure out how to be efficient on these, and it’s a really unique “bike” experience. I can only imagine the workouts they’ll plan with these.

Despite the name this is a hard one guys😁😁 . HOW TO PRACTICE A SISSY SQUAT!!! [progression w/ @jessrehab] . We explained last week how going past the toes was COMPLETELY safe (if you had the prerequisites in terms of strength and mobility) . Here's an easy progression you can use to build up your quads in a functional manner! . 1️⃣Wall assisted - as you get better you can move further and further from the wall (you can use a heel wedge if you wish to make it even easier!) . 2️⃣partner/chair assisted - hold on to something to help with your balance, go deeper as tolerated . 3️⃣Sissy squats - once you're able to do this, you will be a certified bad-ass and your peers will envy your quad development and functional knee gains!!! 🤘🏼😱 . I like to use low rep ranges to get the technique right 3 sets of 5 reps, and then progress to 10-12 reps as you get comfortable with the movement! . Enjoy and let me know how it goes!!! ✌🏼♥️💆🏻 .
