What does his helping with your assention have anything to do with being able to help Soliel?
"To make thousands of years in history extremely short... My bloodline is fucked up."
"Pick up a Vaunek history book and you'll probably learn more... Maybe some conspiracy forms too, but because of the way a royal grub is made and hatched, all of us are touched by terrors, apparently it just keeps getting worse, stronger as time goes on and new descendents are hatched. Hah... Have I mentioned I'm the 13th kid? Supposed to be good luck or something right?"
"I don't remember much of my ascension, I think I passed out or maybe my brain decided I shouldn't remember it. From what Mr. Quoutrau told me though, it's something to deal with transferring the link my lusus had with my mom to me. My mom got it passed down from my grandfather when he kicked the bucket, so on and so forth. I took to it well compared to others, whatever that means. No one has enlightened me."

Zero carbon based life before crash? So how did the Alahsti settlers survive?
"The crash survivors made contact with Qonaenek, another planet in this system. They sent what supplies they could on small unmanned spacecraft. But, considering the original ship was intended to land at a different, much more easily habitable planet, the crew onboard had a very opportune skillset for adapting to a new habitat. It was just more challenging of a task here."

Annnd Quinzy... Already told you all about him :3 5'7 / Any pronouns / Runaway from a bad country on Qonaenek, previously also under Omnius' thumb before he started working for Misery... Making the best of his situation but still very traumatized and dealing with intense trust issues and paranoia...

Oh 🥺 that's so sweet... How did you meet?
"We met at a playground me and my noula used to go to often. They nearly toppled over when I came trotting over with the prince not too far behind, telling them how I made a new friend and asking if he could come over and play more since it was getting dark."
"They obliged though! He had already snuck out to go play, nothing we could do to close that can of beans."
"Sneaking out became a regular reoccurrence for us, well, more for him. I was allowed to go out more than he was."
#answered#sunnelion#.png#sorbit text#pax et amor astri#noula is like... close to the term for ancestor/parent in qonaenek but a little changed because linguistic stuff on alahsti#gender neutral cutesy version of the full word...

What kind of music is played on alahsti?
"Kind singular? I know our planet is not as large as Alternia, or even Qonaenek, but we have just as much variety in our musical culture as any other inhabited planet."

Also, Erik, what would you say is your hottest take regarding the way Alternia works?
The hemocaste system? A nightmare. My mother had to fight tooth and nail for Alternia to look past the fact that our country, and by extension our entire planet, does not abide by it whatsoever. We take pride in our diversity, our diversity has done wonderful things for our economy and interplanetary relations.
Alternia's system of doing things is single-handedly stunting their growth. You might point to their colonies and rapid expansion as a way to combat that statement, but they are spread thin and rely on fear more than anything to keep their boxes checked.
Basically, The Empire is not sustainable in it's current state and collapse is inevitable. It will come sooner rather than later.

lineage erik
HAVE FUN READING THIS LMAO
Erik is the 13th heir on Vaunek. I have had all his ancestors named for like... ever. It goes Eszvaunaek > Maernkou > Laurkaensz > Aukvoul > Eszkour > Nourqu'ou > Vaelae'au > Laemourn > Szeszmael > Maelou'au > Vauszne > Emele'ae > Erikeus
No other suitors are involved with creating a new Remour descendant. It's almost like a blood offering thing where blood and marrow is given to their horrorterror lusus and the egg is kinda fertilized with that. The lusus protects the egg and incubates it. Developing so close to that horrorterror curse energy jostles around the DNA and corrupts it enough to where the descendant is different enough from the ancestor to be unique but related. Does that mean the Remour line gets progressively more corrupted by the horrorterror as time goes on? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knoowwwss~
Erikeus is only ""Allowed"" one descendant. The entire Remour line is supposed to cull every descendant that happens incidentally before/after their "official" descendant. That's why Erik doesn't know he currently as a live sibling and why all the other descendants never take his last name.
In the case of Lauktau, because it's "last name" literally just means "Property of the Remour's" and isn't actually a last name, Lauktau got bumped down to the last name and a first name was chosen.
Kaeleu'ou Vournau is also known on my blog as The Haunted <3 Vaulraen also doesn't know he's related to Erik.
Erik also might have a descendant w Omnius and like 50000 other trolls. That's just how it be when you're a whore!
SIDE NOTE: All of his descendants happen in the far future because Erik currently is 25 y/o
(Behemoth, Asmodeus, Rionae belong to Metzer. Cormai belongs to Goldenguillotines. Cheryl belongs to Lunchboxtrolls, Omnius belongs to Memurfevur)

what do you mean by alternian shorthand name?
"I'm not vrom Alternia! I'm vrom Vaunek, an allied country on an allied planet. Ve don't have the vhole 6 letter virst and last name thing, since our vriting system vorks completely divverently... it's complicated, don't ask me to explain... I'd ve here vor sveeps."
"My vull name is Enetaer Gyevour, it's almost a trend over here to Alternia-vy your name vut I never hopped on that train. King Erikeus gave me 'Endear' and an old covorker ov mine gave me the nickname 'Doctor Euvoria' vay vack because ov my psionics, so I shortened that and got 'Yuvore', Y-U-F-O-R-E. Nov looking vack I should've tried harder to give myself something I can pronounce myself vut it's too late nov I suppose! I'll get it right vone day."

Okokok Qonaenek ancestry and how it works vaguely because not everything is worked out yet
Mutants and all trolls considered "off spectrum" are considered normal and allowed to have continued lineages like everyone else
In general the whole thing is alot more organized, there's a genetic profile for almost everyone so cross referencing who is apart of who's line is much easier. It's extremely common, regardless of caste, for ancestors to be apart of their descendants lives and raise them from hatching, lusus assisting them or acting as a grubsitter of sorts.
Especially for longer living castes they could realistically know their great great etc ancestor. Some trolls want nothing to do with their descendants or dont want that responsibility, that's cool! It's hard to not have planned descendants or at least not expect one eventually but in the cases where someone really doesn't want anything to do with their lineage, housing is provided(quality and how long its provided depending on country) and the lusus raises the grub on their own like on Alternia but it's like 500x easier for the grubs to survive to adulthood.
Major exception is the Remour line AKA Erik's lineage. There are rarely more than 2 Remour's alive at one time and they don't usually have quads, and if they do they are NEVER matesprits and always tyrian. This is to maintain the exclusivity and purity of the line. In the past only 2 of the previous 12 Remour's before Erik had quads, both were moirails.
Erik is majorly fucking up exclusivity/purity by not only having a matesprit in the first place but also a matesprit who isn't tyrian, and being an absolute whore on Alternia. Does he care? No. He's just vibing and thinks the whole royalty thing sucks and is bullshit anyway.

wait who's the dictator
so The Dictator... oh boy okay so his name is Aunesz Venouloum, and he's literally an authoritarian dictator of a country.
Here's the map of Qonaenek. Erik, Endear(and his brother) are all from Vaunek, Veneve is from Outenou, Nemadé is from one of the center islands of Elout, Fraxiv says he's from Vaunek but 🤔 hmmmm somethin ain't right with his story.
Aunesz specifically is the "president" of Kevek, which has a lot of connections to Alternia's underground drug trade and pharmaceutical industry due to the entire country being rich with the materials to make that sort of thing profitable.
The thing is, Aunesz made it really hard for anyone else to come close to touching his hold on exports on pharmaceuticals so not only is he connected heavily to Alternia's industry, he's connected heavily to the pharmaceutical industry on every other Qonaenek country. So much so that no one can contest his attitude and how he governs his own country.
Because that entire island is His, everyone else was just like "okay keep your shit over THERE and don't let it come over HERE, and we won't have issues, aight?" and Aunesz was like "fine okay thats cool(for now)"
And there's the lore that I have not typed out until now! Enjoy :)

Take this planet. I’ll make a map later... maybe tomorrow. Who knows!
...As I’m typing this I can see I literally left my grid guidelines in the pic. They’re canon now I guess.

I have a HUGE MUSE for Future Erik rn. I have a tag for future Erik here as a baseline but i feel like infodumping... so here's some Erik Lore™ that's like... 200 sweeps in the future.
Erik survived an assassination attempt at 189 sweeps and did a complete 180 in his leadership and how he presents himself. He went from an absolute pushover with no intention to rule his country the right way to a proper absolute monarch who does not hesitate to abuse the power he has and the loyalty of the upper class.
Surprisingly, trolls emigrating from Alternia still opt to settle in Vaunek because of the hemospectrum not being nearly as relevant and the asylum laws that explicitly protect those who would be culled or persecuted under the Empire otherwise. These being active rebels, lowbloods, limes/offspectrums, and other trolls who would be classified as mutants.
The Empire cannot send drones or bounty hunters to recover trolls who were granted asylum in Vaunek, and Vaunek is the only country with this explicit contract with Alternia. In all other countries on Erik's planet, The Empire is allowed to do what they see fit to trolls who've emigrated.
That is basically the only reason Erik still has any control over his country after his drastic change in leadership. The collapse of the monarchy would lead to the agreement with Alternia being null. Not alot of citizens can justify putting millions of trolls in harms way like that.
The most viable "plan" is waiting for Erik to have a descendant and hoping they won't follow in Erik's footsteps, or petitioning other countries to form similar asylum agreements.

oh, you know, the usual, like a secret empire of connections and spies and having alternia's government twisted around his fingers-- might be useful in your diplomatic and trade connections, hm? or were you not aware hes not just a legislacerator?
Tell me, keveu, do you think my mother managed to ally herself with an Empire tens of times our size without her own ways of pulling strings?
Do you think those connections died with her?
Do you think I am clueless?
[Conlang ramble/translation under cut]
Keveu isn't only one word, it's made up of the previx ke- and the word veu
Ke- denotes something as lesser, whether it be an amount, in value/worth, in size, etc. It's use and what it's referring to largely depends on context and tone
Veu is the word for stone but also is used as a general word for the colour grey.
Keveu, then, can be read as little grey, or little stone. Erik could be using this in a negative light, or giving you a cute nickname! Wonder which one it is : )

what are the differences between alternia and your planet, erik? are there things that you find fond of alternia? things you dislike?
I think the first thing people notice when they land on Qonaenek is that our sun doesn't cook you alive and that our days, months, years, are significantly longer. Our days are 34 hours each and we dont exactly count weeks. Our years are so long we've taken to chopping them in half to make book keeping easier.
To put it into perspective, our planet's full rotation takes almost two full solar sweeps to complete. Half of our year is still longer than a single sweep.
Admittedly the system is a bit archaic... But it works I suppose! We get two birthdays a year so thats fun, right?
Alternia has more stable weather... mmm... That's about all I have for things I prefer. I used to be obsessed with this place as a kid, I spent lots of our winter seasons here, but it's lost its spark. That's just growing old, isn't it?
A good way to put it is that I enjoy the relationships I've built here. The magic of Alternia dissipated once I was put in charge of peeking behind the curtain and telling trolls in position of high power that eugenics is wrong and bad actually, among other miscellaneous complaints about the rampant colonialism.
