Boys Planet AO3 Stats

I’ve seen people do stats analyses on ZB1 AO3 fics, so I wanted to analyze the AO3 fics for the Boys Planet fics without the ZB1 fandom tag (i.e. I went to the Boys Planet fandom tag, went to the filters, excluded all fics with the ZEROBASEONE | ZB1 fandom tag, and clicked "Sort and Filter"). By extracting the data of all Boys Planet fics using this bookmarklet and importing all the data into a Google spreadsheet, I was able to find all unique characters (i.e. the contestants) and ships that writers have written about and figure out which ones were the most popular.

Disclaimers: All data was extracted at approximately August 19 at 5:51AM KST. Characters who are not Boys Planet contestants were removed. Ships involving two or more non-Boys Planet contestants were removed.

As of August 19 at 5:51AM KST, there were a total of 596 fics written. The top 20 most written about contestants are:

Zhang Hao takes the crown with the most fics written about him, with Sung Hanbin trailing not too far behind him. Interestingly, all 20 contestants listed ranked within the top 28 during the show and passed the second eliminations.

Novo surto na China dá sinais de que coronavírus pode estar em mutação

Médicos da China têm observado que o coronavírus se manifesta de forma diferente entre pacientes de um novo foco na região nordeste do país, em comparação com o surto original em Wuhan. Os dados sugerem que o patógeno pode estar em mutação de maneiras desconhecidas, o que complica esforços para eliminá-lo.

Pacientes nas províncias de Jilin e Heilongjiang, no norte do país, parecem portar o vírus por um período mais longo. Além disso, seus testes demoram mais para dar negativo, disse Qiu Haibo, um dos principais médicos da China especializado em cuidados intensivos, em entrevista ao canal de TV estatal.

Pacientes na região nordeste também parecem levar mais do que uma a duas semanas para apresentar sintomas após a infecção, o prazo observado em Wuhan. Esse atraso dificulta a identificação de casos pelas autoridades antes que contagiem mais pessoas, disse Qiu, que agora está na região norte tratando pacientes.

“Como os pacientes infectados não apresentaram sintomas por um período mais longo, isso criou focos de infecções familiares”. Assim, disse Qiu, que trabalhou em Wuhan para ajudar no combate do surto original. Cerca de 46 casos foram registrados nas últimas duas semanas, espalhados por três cidades – Shulan, Jilin e Shengyang – em duas províncias. O novo surto levou a novas medidas de confinamento em uma região de 100 milhões de pessoas.

Surto do coronavírus

Cientistas ainda não sabem ao certo se o vírus passa por uma mutação significativa. As diferenças identificadas pelos médicos chineses podem estar relacionadas ao fato de serem capazes de observar pacientes mais detalhadamente e em estágio anterior do que nos casos em Wuhan. Quando o surto surgiu na cidade da região central da China, o sistema de saúde ficou tão sobrecarregado que apenas os casos mais graves eram tratados. O foco da região nordeste também é muito menor do que o surto de Hubei, que infectou mais de 68 mil pessoas.

Ainda assim, os resultados sugerem que a incerteza sobre como o vírus se manifesta pode dificultar esforços dos governos para conter a propagação do patógeno e reabrir as fragilizadas economias. A China possui um dos mais abrangentes sistemas de detecção e teste de vírus do mundo e ainda encontra dificuldades para conter o novo surto.

Pesquisadores de vários países tentam identificar se o vírus está em mutação e se tornando mais contagioso em meio à população, mas pesquisas preliminares sugerindo essa possibilidade foram criticadas como exageradas.

“Em teoria, algumas mutações na estrutura genética podem levar a mudanças na estrutura do vírus ou em como o vírus se comporta”. Assim, disse Keiji Fukuda, diretor e professor clínico da Escola de Saúde Pública da Universidade de Hong Kong. “No entanto, muitas mutações não levam a mudanças discerníveis.”

É provável que as observações na China não tenham uma correlação simples com uma mutação e “evidências muito claras” são necessárias antes de concluir que o vírus está mutando, disse.
