Thought I’d share some of the photos I took when I went to see QAL last year in May. I was very fortunate to get a barrier spot, and I got to see my guitar god up close… if you ever get a chance to see them, take the opportunity. I have a feeling they won’t be going for much longer…

lots wife is told not to look back. she looks back. וַתְּהִ֖י—"and she became"—a pillar of salt. but וַתְּהִ֖י is in qal consecutive imperfect, which means that it’s not that she is rendered salt, or passively becomes salt in accident. instead, it’s something she does, chooses. is active in. lots wife undoes herself this way. god had never threatened a salt-body, anyway: he had said only that those who look back will fall right into the hole of the city. lots wife becomes sorceress, then; a kind of prophetess unattached to the biblical god. turning flesh into salt on her own accord. finding ways to not die and yet to not live. knowing that sometimes the biblical god needs to be reminded that there is always a third way out

So excited!
I became a Glambert in 2020. After Velvet came out. While I have bought all of his albums and the various singles, and I pre-ordered the QAL live album, this is the first time I've been interested when a new album came out!
Tumblr media
I am so excited! I pre-ordered High Drama both digitally and on "crystal clear vinyl" yesterday! And it's not just that it's new music. It's that my purchase has an impact on where the album charts when it does come out in February!! I actually get to have an impact this time! I don't think I've ever done that with someone I listen to before. Either they don't have new stuff to put out or they're nowhere near the charts.
This is so exciting!

Holy Spirit Promise
Giving good gifts
What is the favorite gift you ever gave someone else?
Every now and then I manage to give my wife or one of my kids something that they really like. I love seeing the joy in the face of someone I just gave something they love. I also like to give others good things. I always try to give someone something that will help them, something that will make their lives better. I never want to give someone I love something that would somehow hurt them.
Taking this a step further, as a father, I desire to give my son what he needs to succeed. If he needs help and I can provide the help, I am glad to do it. I want my son to succeed in life, especially in the things I ask him to do. If he needs a pencil to do his schoolwork, I will gladly get him a pencil. If he needs help lifting the trash bag out of the trash can so he can take the trash out, I’ll gladly help him.
If my daughter is hungry and asks for an apple, I’ll gladly get it for her. If she can’t reach something she needs I’ll gladly get it for her. If she is trying to carry something heavy and asks for help I am glad to help.
How willing is God to give us the Holy Spirit?
11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” - Luke 11:11-13 NKJV
Luke 11:11-13 give us a great example of what is referred to in Jewish thought as the “qal wahomer” principle.
Kal va-homer (sometimes written “kal v'chomer“ or “qal wahomer”) (Heb. ‘light and heavy’). - Principle of determining Jewish halakhah: it means that what applies in a less important case will certainly apply in a more important one. The phrase has come to mean an inescapable conclusion. (Encyclopedia.com) - all the more so; surely, used to indicate if an earlier premise is true, the second will certainly be. (Jewish English Lexicon)
In other words, if we fallen, selfish, sinful human beings are willing to give good gifts to our children, then surely, your Heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.
Unless you believe that human parents are more loving than God, you realize that this is one of the great promises of the Bible. God wants us to have the Holy Spirit. God wants to give us good things.
Then, how come we don’t feel like we have the Holy Spirit?
The Purpose of Prayer
Part of our frustration likely arises from a misunderstanding of prayer. I grew up in the city of Salvador in Brazil. There I experienced a mixture of Christianity/Catholicism and Candomblé (Wikipedia) the whole thing is very complex but suffice it to say that the lines between what the Bible teaches and pagan rituals are very blurry in the culture. People would pray to the God of the Bible, to the saints, to the spirits, and whoever else would help them get what they want. In this confusion, the same approaches would be carried over from one religion to the next as part of the culture. (Example: Bom Fim)
I share this because though I no longer live in Salvador, or Brazil I find that we all struggle with separating culture from biblical teachings. The culture is the natural and easy way, it is what everyone is doing, and it takes a special sensitivity and attention to what the Bible is teaching to allow the scriptural text to challenge our culture, regardless of what denomination we belong to.
What this means in a practical sense is that though we pray to the God of the Bible in the name of Jesus, our approach can be similar to a pagan approach. Here’s what I mean. In pagan religions, you have to appease the gods, bribe them, get their attention, and somehow manipulate them to do your bidding. You have to offer the right sacrifice, pay money, say the correct magic words, wear the right clothing, etc. The God of the Bible is our Lord and Creator. We do not bend God to our will, we submit to His. I understand that God wants what is best for me and I know that the best possible life I can live is one that is in accordance with His plans for my life.
This changes everything.
The true purpose of prayer is not to change God but to bring about a change in me so that I will desire both to will and to do His good pleasure. And even that change is brought about by God. So prayer is more about coming to God so that He may shape our lives and bring us into harmony with His will for us.
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. - Philippians 2:13 NKJV
Fasting and prayer are about humbling myself before God and submitting to His will. My acts of service are an expression of my life for God and for those around me, they are not an attempt to purchase God’s favor and somehow make Him more likely to give me what I want. I trust God to give me what I need and what is best for me in the best possible time. My time in prayer is about me learning about God and investing in that relationship and it is not about me telling God things He does not already know.
So why do I need to pray? The way I see it is to partner with God. God is interested in a relationship. As I pray I learn to pray and as I begin to ask for the right things. When I begin to witness more answers to prayers it is not that God now loves me more, but it could be that I am finally asking for the right things, or that I have matured enough to handle the responsibility of what God is entrusting to me. (I do not claim to have all the answers but this is where I am at the moment in my understanding of answered prayers.)
What about the Holy Spirit?
What jumps out at me is Jesus telling His followers to ask the Father for the Holy Spirit. Why should we ask for the Holy Spirit? When I read the Bible I realize that the Holy Spirit brings with Him everything I could possibly need.
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” - Acts 1:8 NKJV
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. - John 14:26 NKJV
11 “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” - Luke 12:11-12 NKJV
Do you believe that the passage of time has weakened Jesus’ promises regarding the Holy Spirit?
Do you think that God is restricting the flow of the riches of His grace towards us?
Could it be that the fulfillment of the promise has not been experienced as it might be, because the promise has not been appreciated as it should be?
Perhaps we don’t experience more of the Holy Spirit because we don’t ask for Him. We fail to think about the Holy Spirit, to talk about Him, and to long for Him so we fail to experience Him. This neglect on our part causes spiritual declension and death. We begin to major in minors and the divine power which is crucial for spiritual growth and would bring all other blessings with it gets neglected though offered by God in abundance.
When we pray for the Holy Spirit we become more aware of our great need of Him. When we talk about the Holy Spirit, we are reminded of our mission, our purpose, our reason for living. I can pray and ask for health. I can ask God for money, a promotion, a degree, a spouse… these requests are not bad. I am not saying that you should never pray for those things. But if that is all you pray for could you be missing something more important?
Could you be praying for God to increase your strength and your speed, power, and influence, but be missing direction from God regarding what to do with your strength, speed, power, and influence?
Imagine you are walking and asking God for a fast car, and and fuel, all the while you’re headed in the wrong direction. God doesn’t give you a car, and you continue to lack fuel. Then you begin to wonder if God really exists. Maybe you begin to pray to other gods. Maybe you don’t get an idol or change religions, but slowly your business becomes your god, your degree becomes your god, your relationship… you get the idea. Slowly you replace God with things on earth that you think might get you what you want.
Maybe you begin to think God doesn’t love you or God doesn’t want you to have a fast car or fuel, or perhaps God hates cars… all the while, the main problem is that you have not learned from God the direction you should go. Maybe once you’re headed in the right direction you will have the fastest car and the best fuel possible, because now you are achieving what God has prepared for you to accomplish.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
Have you ever imagined how many times Joseph might have prayed to God to take him back home to his family? Yet all those no’s were because God had a plan to make Joseph the ruler of Egypt. (The Bible does not say that Joseph ever prayed to go back home, this is speculation on my part) This gives me peace when God answers my prayers with a NO. I just have to trust that God knows better and He loves me even more than I love myself. God will not withhold anything that is good for me.
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32NKJV
This is why we should pray for the Holy Spirit. He will teach us how to pray and give us all that we need to succeed in the path God has set for us.
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. - Romans 8:26 NKJV

2 Chronicles 16: 7-14. "Non-Parallel Realities."
Tumblr media
7 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.
8 Were not the Cushites[b] and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen[c]? Yet when you relied on the Lord, he delivered them into your hand.
9 For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
Hanani= Grace
חנן
The verb חנן (hanan) means to be gracious or to favor. Nouns חן (hen), חנינה (hanina), תחנה (tehinna) and תחנון (tahanun) mean favor or grace. Adverb חנם (hinnam) means freely or gratis, and adjective חנון (hannun) means gracious.
Asa King of Judah= "Compassion, the King of Glory."
King of Aram=Exalted. "High but not overripe"
Army of the King of Aram=
Cushites="Weak but getting smarter", = turning South.
In concert with the common Hebrew particle כ (ke; as if, like), the name would mean As If He Were Weak.
And then there is the root ישה (yshh; meaning uncertain), which yields the noun תושה (tushiya), meaning wisdom, sound knowledge, which would yield the meaning of Cush as As If He Were Getting Smarter.'And then there is the root ישה (yshh; meaning uncertain), which yields the noun תושה (tushiya), meaning wisdom, sound knowledge, which would yield the meaning of Cush as As If He Were Getting Smarter.
Libyans= "West of Egypt" = Fully Enlightened regarding what is seen and also Unseen.
A Prophet told a compassionate king his grace was not enough. But Grace is of God so why would anyone who is trying to be as gracious as possible fall short?
The Tanakh says the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth, and he lives in the hearts of those who are fully committed to Him.
What did Asa do wrong? There are very kind people in the world that are ineffective at strategic planning and leadership. Certainly the King of Egypt had his moments, the greatest being the choice to give up his position to Joseph of Israel the last great good and wise leader the world has ever seen.
Asa, who replaces the pharaoh in our story puts the dreamer in prison and what happens next? Forward progress stops.
10 Asa was angry with the seer because of this; he was so enraged that he put him in prison. At the same time Asa brutally oppressed some of the people.
11 The events of Asa’s reign, from beginning to end, are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians.
13 Then in the forty-first year of his reign Asa died and rested with his ancestors.
14 They buried him in the tomb that he had cut out for himself in the City of David. They laid him on a bier covered with spices and various blended perfumes, and they made a huge fire in his honor.
The Gematria for verse 13 returns the word dashna which =
דָּשֵׁן dâshên, daw-shane'; to be fat, grow fat, become fat, become prosperous, anointed;
(Qal) of prosperity (fig.)
(Piel)
to make fat, anoint
to find fat (of offering - acceptable)
to take away ashes (from altar)
(Pual) to be made fat
(Hothpael) to fatten oneself (of Jehovah's sword)
The disease in one's feet means one settles wherever time finds oneself. This is not how the Book of Kings explains life. Not for a slave, nor for a monarch. It is not naive to perfume the past, but as the Tanakh says, it always digs its own grave. Our eyes must always be pointed forward and up. Especially if you work for the government.
This means the Watchtower of Aram with its chariots refer to Chief Executives and governments that can demonstrate they are competent at managing the logistics of life on this world.
Failure at any point in this covenant between the government and its citizens has to be addressed with the Sword of God, the Truth and bridges between moments crisis and their non-parallel realities must be built.
And what is the Truth? We cannot do this without reverence of God in the Utmost. And so very few of us understand what this actually means.
To start, to teach and learn the Truth, after everything that has happened, Donald Trump, his cabinet and Paul Ryan, third in the Chain of Command need to be arrested and put to death for Election Fraud and War Crimes.
Please see below and ask the WTO to sanction America if Joe Biden does not take definitive steps to protect the world from future American atrocities AT ONCE, TODAY, RIGHT NOW. To spare the human race from such a repertoire of corruption is a necessity if any of the other tenets we hold scared are to be valid. Do not allow this matter to languish:

Queen + Adam Lambert Rhapsody Tour 2019
I just got home from the Queen concert and I just wanna ramble about all the amazing things before I forget them. Beware this post will be full of spoilers and pictures
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I just wanna start by saying this was one of the best and most magical nights of my life and I can’t still quite comprehend the greatness of all this. Even standing there a few meters away from Brian and Roger I still had a such a surreal feeling the whole time.
Adam was also pretty incredible, I can only imagine how amazing it was to see them with Freddie but I’m now 100% convinced that Adam is the next best thing. Right after the first couple songs he made a funny little speech saying “I just wanna address the pink elephant in the room: I’m not Freddie Mercury“ and went on to say what an amazing gig he got but he could never replace the rock god that was Freddie. He then thanked Brian and Roger and everyone went crazy for them and Brian went over to Roger and held his hand <3
The whole set up of the stage was amazing, I’ve never been to a concert that had so much cool stuff going on in terms of lights and backdrops and such. I didn’t actually take that many pictures ‘cause I only had my phone which sucks but I just wanted a few to treasure and hopefully someone took better ones that I can admire later lol
Tumblr media
One thing I can’t quite understand is how so many people watched the concert sitting down?? I’ve been to concerts in a couple other countries and Canadian audiences always seem to be the most tame lol. Don’t Stop Me Now was the first time some people stood up...then sat back down after.
Before Love Of My Life Brian said the Vancouver was always a friendly place and they were happy to be here and he seemed really happy. Then he asked people to sing the next song (then pointed to some random person in the audience and said “you can be quiet“ jokingly lol). But people weren’t singing loud enough and he actually stopped at one point and asked if people really felt like singing then started over and more people sang along and got cellphone lights out (also at his request). At the end of the song Freddie showed up on the screen singing the last verse and the way they set it up, Brian was also on the screen and it looked like they were standing right next to each other with Brian looking and pointing at Freddie <3
After that, he played ‘39 which is one of my all time favorite songs ever and I freaked out. It’s not a super popular song I guess, so a lot of people seemed not to know it but I hope Brian realizes that a lot of people still love it and it was incredible to hear him play it alone with his guitar (Roger didn’t join him)
Tumblr media
After that they set up a smaller drum kit where Brian was standing (at the front of the T shaped stage) and Roger walked over and sang a little bit of Doing All Right <3 Then Adam joined them, Brian got everyone to cheer for Adam and they played Under Pressure. I thought I would cry during ‘39 but it was Under Pressure that broke me lol. I think because it was the first time they were all together at the front of the stage really close to where I was sitting and it hit me that I was actually in from of them you know? lol It’s hard to explain but yeah I was crying mess during that song lol
Tumblr media
Radio Gaga was another song that got people really excited and standing up and I gotta say doing the clapping thing to that song in front of them and with a bunch of other people was incredible and such a big highlight for me since that’s one of my favorite songs. OH and they did play I’m Love With My Car which I fucking love lol and it was the whole thing too. Roger’s “Aaaah“ in the begginning of this is still one of the most beautiful sounds in the universe (btw this is completely out of order just typing as I remember things). Oh, there was a huge disco ball thing during I Want To Break Free that looked super cool
OH and didn’t I mention Brian did his guitar solo on top of an asteroid on a space backdrop with planets floating around him? It was the most Brian May thing ever lol and so fucking awesome
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bohemian Rhapsody was one of the last songs (just before WWRY and WATC) and it was literally the only time where I saw everyone stand up. Brian came from underneath the stage wearing this super sparkly outfit. Then they left, the screen showed Freddie in Wembley doing the “aeeeyo“s which the crowd did along and it was really beautiful. Then they came back for the last two songs and that was it. The whole thing was so surreal I still can’t quite believe it happened. I really hope they tour again because it was just too fucking incredible and you can see how they still enjoy it and have so much fun. Brian high fived Adam right after WATC and Roger threw a drumstick somewhere on the stage lol The bowed and left and the last thing I saw disappearing down the stairs was Brian’s hair, of course lol
That’s all I can remember right now at 1am in the morning.
I posted the videos I took on my instagram stories and I’ll leave them on the highlight. (@laisdraws)

Imagine if Queen + Adam Lambert threw a Halloween party whenever they could tour again. And Adam Lambert tells Brian, “don’t worry, I’ll take care of your costume for you! I got you!”
Adam promptly dresses Brian as Slenderman. (Except you know, with clogs.) And everyone is like OMG THAT’s SO REALISTIC while meanwhile Brian is like, “huh? What’s so scary about a suit?”
