The QAGS system has exactly this! Their whole rolling system is really interesting but I could never get many people on board with it because they were too conditioned to think of 20 as good and 1 as bad.
In QAGS you roll against a number (attribute) and you want to get as close as possible without going over. (USAmericans will recognize this as "Price is Right Rules".) So higher is better, but too high is bad. The degree of success or failure depends on how close you get to your number. Going for a 12 and get an 11? Strong success. A 4? Barely succeeded. Got a 13? Slight failure. 17 is a bad failure. Nailed it on a 12? That's a crit.
There's an extra effect of this that having higher numbers means there are more possible degrees of success and fewer possible degrees of failure. If your number is 19, you can only fail on a 20, and anything else is some degree of success. If you're rolling against a 7, you're likely to fail, and potentially very, very badly.
So in QAGS, a 20 is a critical failure. (This is the part people tend to bounce off of. DnD has dug itself in too deeply for people to accept that a 20 is bad.)
But a 1? A 1 is not a critical success (that would be hitting the target number exactly). It's a quirky success. You accomplish your goal, but with an unintended side effect.
Trying to dodge an attack? You succeed by slipping and face-planting on the floor while the swing goes over your head. Your nose is bleeding and you're prone now.
Trying to persuade someone to help you with a simple task? Oops, they're in love with you now. They will not leave you alone. You have obtained a stalker who will show up at the most inopportune moments.
And if it's on an attack? Yeah, you hit them, but your weapon does in fact fly out of your hands and land on the other side of the room. Go get it.
Instead of being an automatic fail, a Natural 1 will result in a success that is done in such a way that it is one of the worst outcomes possible.
Nat 1 for shooting someone with a bow and arrow? The bow is the one that is fired and hits the target. Go and get it.
Nat 1 on a perception check? Accidentally find out universal truths that result in 3d6 psychic damage.
Nat 1 for deception? You start to believe what you are saying to be true.
The possibilities are endless

nice! i'm not going to do a BLAST search to try and work out what that is purely because i'm lazy, but i think this will work out really nicely :)
letter sequence in this ask matching protein-coding amino acids:

protein guy analysis:
this structure does such a simple and elegant job of showing the difference between random and evolved sequences in terms of how well they fold. most of this looks beautiful, with dark blue helices grouped into bundles. in between them are some short yellow or orange areas that stand out so clearly against the rest of the protein. in one area towards the right side of the image, a loop looks like it is threaded through a helix, which is crazy to see and seems unlikely when considering the realities of co-translational folding. still, the actual process of protein folding is complicated, so i'm not in any position to outright claim that it would be impossible. like i said, i'm not going to blast search each section of this, but given how nicely it folded into three bundles of 7 parallel alpha helices, i'm inclined to guess that it may be a GPCR (or i could just be biased since i've seen them mentioned so frequently)

AGGGTM TV
Hey guys, I have a theory on the release date for AGGGTM TV release date.
Okay, so we know now that it comes out in July, right? Well, we know Holly likes giving us little clues with dates relating to the books.
So I thought, "hmm, are there any important dates in July in book 1?"
So I checked my copy, and immediately on the second page. I saw it.
Pip's paper for approving her QAG was approved on 18/7/2017 and unless I'm reading the British date wrong for some reason, that means it was the 18th July 2017. So, could the show be coming on the 18th of July?

Recently, I went back to see the Iris Van Herpen exhibition again, this time with family, and as they were late I figured I'd wander through QAG. They have at the minute a room dedicated to the Suburban Sublime. I found myself rooted to the floor in this room, just wandering around in circles. I'm certain the staff thought I was casing the joint but I just couldn't seem to get over this strangely removed nostalgia it evoked in me.
I think the home is not a place I explore in my work, but as I get older I find myself catching on that hook a lot- the home.

Sooooo, you up?
I have so much to tell you!
First I got once again, a "read" from him
(I swear I’m gonna kill him one day)
The 05/02 to the 09/02, I had like a stage , I did it with a deputy.
The first day we visit, he made me a card and a thing for the cafeteria, we get in the bureau and the night I went to a meeting on the 6e Republic.
The second day, I began to write a question écrite, and I saw the president of the AN, and a qag
The third day, I did nothing special, the fourth day, also nothing special.
The last day, there was actually a class that was gonna visit the AN, and like my teacher came too🤨
Emmm what elseeee
Yeah, banana actually ask news about the girls and me. And like he texts us at 12:24pm🤨
My friend like said "Rololo it’s not really polite to text so late yk"
And I said like "Maybe yeah, but lets be happy that he’s not a politically right person. So what did you do during your stage ?"
And he said "Yeah sorry I was dumb, etc…"
I swear he is my husband
So we discussed and like nothing too important
And I stated to play Candy love because, it juste remind me of my childhood sm
I swear I’m in love, he’s not my cdc, it’s actually Lysandre🎀🎀
And happy new Chinese year !
