August 19, 2020 - Rufous-necked Snowfinch (Montifringilla ruficollis or Pyrgilauda ruficollis)

These snowfinches are found in open habitats, including meadows and pastures, in parts of China, India, and Nepal. They eat seeds and insects, foraging on the ground, often in domestic animal dung. Breeding between May and June, either solitarily or in small groups, they build their nests in rock holes or abandoned burrows from plant materials and hair.
