April 9, 2024 - Olive-winged Bulbul (Pycnonotus plumosus) These bulbuls are found in a variety of habitats including forests, scrub, and grasslands across parts of Southeast Asia. Foraging alone, in pairs, or sometimes in family groups, they eat berries, fruit, seeds, and invertebrates. They build deep cup-shaped nests from dead leaves, creeper stems, fine fibers, and grass, often decorated with bamboo leaves. Females lay clutches of two eggs.

My favourite bird; so fancy, lively, and full of personality with a lovely song too. This one turned round, seeming to sense my camera, when I decided to take a photograph.

Do ya have anything about white eared bulbuls ( like facts or pictures)

White-eared Bulbul (Pycnonotus leucotis), family Pycnonotidae, order Passeriformes, found in SW Asia, the western Himalayas, and the NE Arabian Peninsula

Formerly considered by some ornithologists to be a subspecies of the Himalayan Bulbul, Pycnonotus leucogenys.

This species does not have a regular uniform song across the species. Individuals each have different songs, which are all constructed from the same set of notes.

Noise at ISO 3200 came up to some 9 odd and had need to be fixed in post. But Neat Image, like many other noise reducing app now, would work more evidently on the smoother part of the image while leaving the more contrasty part practically alone. So in order to fix the intrusive noise on the bird, mid-tones were darkened a tad to render the noise less obvious.

"When a few Red-whiskered Bulbuls escaped from an aviary in the Miami area in 1960, they found an environment perfectly suited to their needs. The climate was not too different from that of eastern India, where they had originated; and the suburb of Kendall, Florida, was heavily planted with exotic trees and shrubs, providing the bulbuls with abundant berries throughout the year. The birds quickly became established, but they have not spread much beyond Kendall. Another introduced population is common around Honolulu, Hawaii."

April 29, 2024 - Stripe-throated Bulbul or Streak-throated Bulbul (Pycnonotus finlaysoni) Found in parts of Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, these bulbuls live in and around forests, shrublands, wetlands, and cultivated areas. Foraging alone, in pairs, and in small groups, they mostly eat fruit and nectar, along with some arthropods, often capturing prey in short flights. They build deep cup-shaped nests from dry grass, creeper stems, fern rhizomes, thin fibers, and dry leaves in bushes, trees, and palms. Females usually lay clutches of two eggs and do the majority of the incubation and feeding of the chicks.
