Hello! I feel like I've seen a lot of people on my dash talking about mianite recently, and I was wondering what it was? I might try to get into it, but I just don't really know what it's about or who I should watch.

hello! those people on your dash were likely just me. ive been binging it over the past few weeks.

mianite is a minecraft smp series with roleplay and three seasons, the first of which started in 2014! the first season is vanilla, the second is modded, and reliable sources have told me that the third is shit so i'm not going to be watching it.

the serverlist for s1 is relatively small and includes:

CaptainSparklez (mostly referred to as Jordan or Sparklez)

II_JERIICHO_II (referred to as Tucker or, rarely, Jericho)

OMGItsFirefoxx (referred to as Sonja or, rarely, Firefox)

SynHD (referred to as Tom or Syndicate)

TheOpticNadeShot (Nade or Nadeshot)

CommunityMC (Declan, server owner and admin)

TonyModeStep and JoshModeStep (Tony and Josh)

the server has some lore! each player on the server is on one of three teams: Team Mianite (the "good" side), Team Dianite (the "evil" side), or Team Ianite (the "balanced" or "neutral" side). these teams represent followers of a particular god, who are in the team's names!

the gods grant prayers, gift their champions items, and dish out punishments as they deem fit, though later on in the first season the players implement their own court system and a specific allotted time where people can kill and steal from each other (called Purges, the rest of the time killing and stealing isn't allowed because at the start of the season up through Jordan's episode 29 people just kind of wrecked each other's shit and it wasn't any fun).

there's also the Wizards who come in later, who are part of FyreUK, a team of Creative Mode builders who can be paid in diamonds to build things on the server per request. they're awesome as hell and the stuff they build is great.

i've been watching CaptainSparklez' POV of the series so far, which is what most people go with because he's always involved in everything going down on the server alskafjejdj. i'm like 90% sure that Tom and Tucker also have episodes up on YouTube, although they're unedited and just VOD uploads. i have not been able to find anything else from anyone else orz

people have also made playlists of mamasb0y's fan-made Mianite animations, which are fucking fantastic and which i 100% reccomend watching once you're past episode 50 or so.

i myself went into the series completely blind with no idea of what to expect or what to look out for and it's been fucking awesome, i'm having the time of my life over here honestly. much reccomend very wow

while he didn’t make any other videos on purge smp and didn’t save any of his vods (T_T), i managed to save three of his vods from when s1 was being streamed :D here’s the playlist including the vods

if vods aren’t really your thing, i’d look at other people’s season 1 povs! smit was my main pov but i also watched a lot of wildcat! there’s some playlists as well that have a lot of different povs like this one (which has a lot of vods) and this one (which seems to mostly have videos)

purge smp has started a season 2 recently but i’m still really nostalgic for season 1, s2 seems fun too though if you’re curious about that (content for s2 started around a month or so ago)

okay 🥰 gimme a second and also some forgiveness bc some details are kinda fuzzy i'm only a little into my rewatch (and also. my breakdown Willl be biased but you already knew that) but yes yes okay sooo

mianite, the smp, started as a way for tucker and tom to have fun and fuck around with each other and just. yknow be chill. but they did this under the context of them following two different teams, two different gods- tucker followed the god mianite, who was proclaimed "good" (and later assigned order) and tom followed the god dianite, who was "evil" (later assigned chaos). for the most part it was them just fucking around, and following orders given to them by their gods- tucker gets told to kill tom, tom told to kill tucker, whatever. and if they did what they were told they'd be given gifts! (there is also the priest, named dec, who speaks for the gods, and champwan, the priest's bitch. he's there! don't know why.)

so for the most part it's just tucker and tom and a few friends every once in a while- tucker's then girlfriend sonja was added, she was a mianitee, you know how it is.

and then jordan shows up! and jordan's never really done an smp before, jordan's just kinda here because he was invited and he had nothing much else to do at the time.

this... causes everything to happen going forward. because in the beginning both tom and tucker were like "hey! join my team!" because like, why wouldn't they ask jordan to be on their team, thats like the whole point. and jordan's wishy washy, jordan is kinda leaning more towards dianite and tom for a bit, but theres like a whole thing and he just. isn't with it.

and then tom decides to prank him! and tucker doesn't say anything about it, and jordan decides right then and there, hey, fuck you both!

and jordan creates a third option! and names it ianite, because like. you know. (goddess of balance, and of the end.)

and that's just the beginning, you know how it is- there's a lot of fuckery in the time between then and the revelation that ianite is real (which we'll get to) and in that time, we get nadeshot and the modesteps and kind of everyone being some real bitches towards one another. tom goes rogue and there are fights allll over and all the time.

jordan eventually is given a book by mianite in secret which reveals to him they need ianite, and in seven days jordan will be given something that if he should be able to wield it he'll be in great danger. he goes to a set of coordinates and there's!! a cage!!! in the sky!!! and he climbs to the cage (with the rising sun, mind you) and when he gets there there's a sign- from ianite herself, implying she had been in the cage before he had arrived and had been either broken out or taken- saying that she is alive, and not to worry, she'll come when she's needed. (the code left behind is to something that's in the mianite temple: when he enters it at the appropriate time, he's given a set of leather armor and an enchanted bow, all gifts from ianite.)

meanwhile, war is fucking brewing. there's a lot of unrest going on, nobody can be friends with anyone, jordan's entire fucking house gets burned down, and generally it's bad- so one day the priest, by word of the gods, creates and enacts the tank of judgement. one by one, tom, tucker, sonja, and jordan, are all thrown into it and judged by the gods on how they've been acting- tucker and sonja survive without much question, tom dies pretty much right away, and jordan nearly dies but is told the gods have changed their mind. after this, they're all told, basically, to knock it off- and in comes the purge, which becomes a set date on which everyone will have an all out brawl contained within a specific set of rules, and anything goes, basically. (jordan's later told that the unrest was actually upsetting ianite greatly and making her more ill).

things go mostly smooth after that- dianite still acts up a bunch, and at one point something reaches out to tom and offers a greater deal than serving dianite. it's called the shadows and speaks through the messenger cronus, and tom rejects the offer, but someone else- nadeshot- accepts it. (sonja does too, but unless you watch her pov, you would never know that, because she was that fucking good at keeping it secret.) later on nadeshot would be put on trial for having joined the shadows- it was said they were a test from dianite, but. eh.

again- it's mostly silence, from then on out, except for purge days!

and on one very particular purge day, something happens- and ianite arrives in the realm. she can't manifest physically, but she did leave a gift for jordan in the realm, called the sugar of ianite. it... didn't work, but. the thought was appreciated! and also jordan steals tom's armor. the god armor. given to tom by his god.

the very next day, dianite comes on, pissed as hell bc 1) ianite was fucking here and 2) tom lost the armor. so dianite sends tom to kill jordan, jordan kills tom anyways, and dianite says come prove you can keep that, and jordan says bet. he's set up against a wither to fight it- and it excapes the arena- and jordan kills it anyways, and dianite goes ohhhh clever bitch. "i want you on my team. i will get you on my team." spouting that shit, proving further that jordan was pretty much made to be a dianitee but he's... stubborn, so. (there was more evidence linked to dianite's favoritism towards jordan in the dianite temple reveal but it's not entirely relevant, i guess.)

now i dont know what happened but at some point or another, the pirates arrive! they're just here now. and they're followers of ianite, and they... don't really believe that jordan is her champion, but it's fine. they're from ianarea, and they're on a mission to help save her! and so they futz around for a bit here and there.

ianite appears in person and that's fucking cool as hell, she's getting stronger!

this is where. it gets muddled for me, because i haven't rewatched the end half of s1 in a very long time- but there's a minion named furia, and he works for dianite. and the pirates need to take the champions to ianarea (which is in the overworld for right now) in order to get a piece of ianite back- i think to free her soul. which furia has for some reason. so they go to ianarea and it is like, burnt to the ground, and furia is there, and one of the pirates, her name is capsize- she dies at furia's hand. (her and jordan were. courting? or something? forced romance. it's whatever.)

so now everyone's all like yo this is fucked up.

furia like, tries to betray dianite at one point, and dies to dianite? fucking i don't remember how it goes. wands that shoot cows are involved.

it all culminates in a final battle against dianite, in ianarea- what i believe to be the real ianarea, a city in the end, based around ianite's temple. they find the keys to the gates and go around the empty city finding all of this stuff, and then meet dianite in an arena, where he is holding ianite's heart. they fight.

and dianite's champion, tom, delivers the final blow (when watching tom's pov it's revealed that dianite asked tom to do this, and wanted him to be the one to do it specifically.) tom is given dianite's powers, and he becomes mecha dianite- a plot point i am sure they would expand upon some other time, ahaha. ahaha. HA- and then jordan returns ianite's heart to her.

(they try to revive capsize, she cannot be revived because she was trapped in the void for too long, she comes back as a zombie and is put to rest by her own brother).

ianite says they have to jump into the void to return to the overworld, and so they all bid their farewell and make a leap of faith.

(and they do not wake up at home.)

and that's all of season 1, probably missing a lot of details because i'm only like 17 episodes in my rewatch but OH BOY its my favorite and i am always happy watching it

YEAH!!!!!!! god i need to rewatch mianite again, i can usually rewatch s1 w/o losing focus (minus the purges, they just werent my type of content usually) but s2 always gets so long i just zone out and miss lore, i havent watched all of s1 since i saw it live
