And it’s just…sigh.

I understand he’s playing to his audience and that he sees that as being rooted in more conservative parts of the country. That because of his looks he probably wants to appeal to the straight white men who run studios and networks without giving an in to abusive gay men in the industry (and yes they do exist).

I get that homophobia is both career enhancing, personally protective, and culturally comfortable. Despite that, he tries to be a good man and walks a fine line. But…doesn’t quite manage it in his public persona. And honestly, he sounds sad.

Which is right, because it is.

I really hope none of his kids end up queer. That’s all I have to say.
