now the observer from purgatory is something I'm still unsure about, like should I make him some sort of eldtrich horror feline or some giant wolf like bear?

Time is a spiral. Everything is destined to happen again and again… From slightly different angles. How long has it been? Days? Weeks? It's hard to say. Why do we continue to survive after all? Maybe just to annoy him. If a friend had been there… Their words never would have had much effect. This is hell. But if things keep repeating… It means that eventually… Maybe… We will have the opportunity to start again.

Is this really just a dream?

one of my friends made an absolutely brilliant observation on quesadilla island and purgatory,

for a while now i know a lot of people even here have theorized and talked about the similarities of quesadilla island and the lotus eaters mythical story - with there even being quite notable appearances of lotuses, like on quackitys ticket.

now, in homers odyssey, of which the story of the lotus eaters comes from, where do they go after getting off of the island of lotus eaters? the lush island near cyclopes. where polyphemus, a cyclops, resided and tried to seal odysseus and his men away for eating. and to escape polyphemus, odysseus, in some retellings, calls himself "nemo", a greek word for "nobody" (flashbacks to point nemo...) and then stabs the cyclops in the eye to escape.

basically,

the islanders have left the island of lotus eaters (quesadilla island) and gone to the island of polyphemus (purgatory), and they are symbolically trapped by the cyclops and are being eaten. this is further supported by the fact the big being residing over the islands is singular eye and the fact there are little cyclopses running around the island.

and the islanders need to stab the cyclops in the eye to escape. its the only way.

From a meta perspective bolas team did a perfect job in becoming the most popular team and marketing (whether intentionally or not). like its quite impressive to see:

they set themselves up as underdogs day 1

they had a fun insane behavior thing that people were attached to

they had awesome imagery with the gas masks and being red

they had a group of ccs who were very close to each other beforehand and had great dynamics and were great at rp

They streamed all together at the same time

I have to say they did a great job at making themselves seem like the better team and painted blue as the enemy (like its fair of them to have done but anyone can say some of their comments were kinda biased)

the BOLAS chants are peak way to rally people together

Had the advantage of bigger ccs with intesne fanbases

the rivalry with bbh was also fun to see

they were sometimes the targets and victims and losing (highlight sometimes, they were not weak, they won a lot) and did a great job and focusing on that and using it as fuel

In the end they were great at what they did, too good at it, which caused the fanbase to be super biased towards them and some elements of it was what caused so much drama.

New ccs: please be worse at marketing for our sanity

They arguably have the biggest number of active players. Etoiles and Roier are strong pvpers. Fit is a survivalist and a pvper.

So the lack of the duck just confirmed something for me.

With Cucorucho being 'Missing' and all, and how easily he managed to escape from Purgatory with the eggs.

This isn't the real Quesadilla island. It's a good COPY, certainly; it's got everything that was there when they left, but it doesn't have all of the black concrete because it was never put there in the first place, besides the sparse pieces and important traces of it that were planted just to make sure.

Cucorucho is 'missing' because he never got home - he escaped from Purgatory and right to wherever this is, wherever all the islanders are, this copycat Quesadilla. I believe all the eggs are real - And so are the 3 new ones - but the island isn't.

That's why things seem a little off. That's why there was an emoji instead of a duck. That's why Cucorucho seemed to be acting strange.

This isn't home, it's just a very clever, very VERY good recreation of it. That's why the observer said that Purgatory only ends when he chooses.

Low key hope the admins take the Fred miscommunication as a sign to be more open and communicative with creators bc I feel like sometimes there’s stuff that gets left to the side bc they assume everyone is on the same page when it’s not always the case

While Etoiles is on break (good for him, mental health and well being comes first), I hope that Green Team can work out some alternate strategy to take advantage of their staggered logins - Red was clearly struggling from too few members on Day 1, but even fewer of Green have shown up since.

I do think that the loner aspect has proven a weakness for Team Green, BUT, with all the roaming they’re inclined to do, I hope they start taking advantage of learning terrain and locating resources that way. Key figures tend to threaten the other teams just by being nearby, after all.

Fit being online so early compared to most Americans is likely why Etoiles originally asked him to wait to log in - he wanted a team bro on for the same length of time. And who can blame him when the server dynamic has had this forced shift in dynamics? And with the Egg Wars… Hmm. I’m very curious to see what they do with this one.

(I hope Forever’s Pc didn’t die a death again, I miss seeing him around, and he’s a good rallying force.)
