Alright fucking pupscouts you think this is funny? Why don’t you go wah wah right to your mather because someone hurt your feelings on a baby dragon game. You all are literally the saddest bunch of hatchlings I’ve come across. Do you even know what fucking Sweet Grass IS? How about the Twisting Crescendo? I have better things to do than deal with you shitheads so I’m going to go out, feel the fresh air, and go for a ride through the Aergate, which none of you can afford because you’re too busy sinking your life into a dragon gatcha.

Today is my Dad’s birthday.

The first thing I thought about when I woke up. Was not him. In fact, I have actually been awake for two hours now. I had time to put my clothes in the dryer. I had time to look up a Ginger Shot because a customer saw me drinking Monster’s yesterday. Which gave me this overwhelming good feeling to maybe do a cleanse for the day. Can you Ginger Shot with a cleanse? While thinking about how great of a day it would be to get a lot of schoolwork done since I am not needed at work today. God has blessed me with two days of relaxation. Don’t get me wrong I still have things to do mainly school work. But it is good to take a day off. Plus my dog really wants to spend time with me.

How to Get Dogs Involved In The Oscars

One of the most engaging things you can do to keep your dog feeling young and happy is to keep him or her mentally stimulated. One of our favorite things to do is to network and go face to face with other dog lovers. As a movie buff, I recently learned how to get dogs involved in the Oscars. If you are a fan of the Oscars, of movies, or just want some ideas for how to have a fun party that includes dogs, dressing up, and a Hollywood theme, let us show you how to go all glam and movie themed with your dog!

Pre-Oscar Party with the PupScouts

As a dog mom who likes to keep her dog well socialized, we advocate and believe in gathering with other dog loving friends who have well-behaved dogs. This dog lover and her family trekked to New York City for a glam get together with the PupScouts. Susan Godwin and Jennifer Jo-Moyer hosted The PupScouts 3nd Annual Pre-Oscar Red Carpet Event in New York City on Saturday, February 11th. What follows is our recap in words, images, and video of the event PLUS some tips on how you can get dogs involved in the Oscars.

The Pre-Oscar party with the PupScouts focuses on “who are you wearing.” And just like the actual Oscars Red Carpet, the participants are the ones in the spotlight. The Third Annual PupScouts Red Carpet Event is where the “Bitch Stole My Look” contest occurs and dogs dress for the red carpet with their always glamorous humans. This contest entails the dogs dressing like their favorite Oscar-nominated/winning celebrity, past or present. Of course, since our dog, Dexter, is fine with wearing clothes, the always fashionable Belle Diva Couture designed his tux to rival Hollywood’s golden child, Ryan Gosling.

Throughout the event, guests snack on New York City favorites like hot pretzels, pizza, Chinatown dumplings, and Sabrett hot dogs along with a candy buffet and New York cheesecake. Yum!

Vendors like Brooklyn Bowtied and Malz Palz offered their wares while raffle tickets sold supported  Waggy Tails Rescue. All proceeds from the event program go to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC Animals. When less fortunate pets can be helped through a fundraising event where the guests and their pets have a blast, everyone wins.

Who are the PupScouts and How to Get Involved

The dogs earn badges for things such as swimming, hiking, beach clean-up, arts and crafts, and more. At their monthly meetings, usually at a dog-friendly park in New York City, the group meets for socializing, planning, badge chatter, and to keep the pledge of the PupScouts alive. And yes, there is a pledge. According to Godwin, it is:

On my honor, I will try to do my duty, to help the dog community and my country, to help make humans smile, and to be there to guard and protect, especially those at home.

You don’t have to live in New York City, as there are troops all over the country and even a cyber-troop! The choice is yours, but do become a member of PupScouts here.

  How Dogs Can Get Involved in the Oscars

If all of this is too much work or you just aren’t into fashion for dogs, that’s okay: There are plenty of ways dogs can get involved in the Oscars.

Invite other dog loving friends over for an Oscar viewing party. Each dog has to represent a different Oscar star or movie. You can see who can guess the most correct answers and award prizes.

If your dog isn’t into clothes, snag yourself a dressy leash and collar and/or a doggie bandana.  Here’s the truth about dogs wearing clothes

Have a cyber Oscar party and get all your dog loving friends involved. You can form a Facebook private event or group, invite dog lovers in, and everyone can use photo editing software to dress their dogs up.

Host an online Oscar trivia contest in the above group, or in person, and infuse dog related trivia in. For example, famous dogs in movies.

Pop some popcorn, invite friends over with their dogs, and have a snack table for the dogs, a red carpet to walk into your abode, and take a cue from the PupScouts: Have guests pen their name on stars you hang up. The PupScouts had these fun stars we placed on the floor at the event:
