SOLITI 2023: THE END OF YEAR LISTS

Aleksi Pahkala (Local Al, Gim Kordon, The Duplo!)

2023 was a good and busy year. I started finally to record Local Al’s debut album, still working on it, but hopefully soon we will get some new singles out to the world, my only release was Local Al’s version of Markus Krunegård’s Miss Joensuu, that was a great one of course!

What kept me busy was our own label All That Plazz and I also continued to book artists for Helsinki Festival etc. So lotsa good stuff! Also my Päivän Biisit blog and playlist was active as always.

Verhoomon biisit syntyvät verhoomossa (Akaan Seutu)

Elias Ahosen (vas.), Eero Häikiön ja Untamo Säynäjäkankaan Verhoomo esiintyy perjantaina Viialan työväentalolla.

Viialassa vajaat pari vuotta sitten perustettu Verhoomo-bändi sai nimensä treenikämppänä nykyisin toimivasta entisestä verhoomosta. Bändi syntyi, kun pikkulapsesta saakka toisensa tunteneet Eero Häikiö ja Untamo Säynäjäkangas sattuivat soittimineen samaan paikkaan. Eero tarttui kitaraan ja Untamo istui rumpujen taakse.

Lyhyen duo-vaiheen jälkeen kaksikko alkoi tuntea pakottavaa tarvetta saada ryhmään myös basisti, ja siihen hommaan löydettiin Elias Ahonen. Elias, 14, oli sitä ennen soittanut kitaraa, Untamo, 14, on käynyt kolmisen vuotta rumputunneilla ja opettaa jo itsekin. Eero, 17 on kitaristina itseoppinut, mutta taustalla on muun muassa kahdeksan vuoden klarinettiopinnot.

Verhoomo tekee biisinsä itse, ja YouTubesta löytyvät kolme kappaletta tuovat mieleen sekä vanhan liiton grungen että punkrockin. Eeron mukaan kaikki lähtikin liikkeelle huonosti soitetusta Nirvanan Smells like teen spiritistä, ja Nirvana on ollut tyylillisenä esikuvana myös omassa tuotannossa.

– Eka biisi tehtiin vähän väkisin, mutta loput ovat tulleet helpommin. Nyt niitä on levyllinen, laulaja-kitaristi Eero kertoo.

Bändi on ehtinyt esiintyä kerran alaluokkalaisille Hirvialhon koululla. Tämän viikon perjantaina Verhoomo nousee lavalle Viialan työväentalolla, missä Viialan yhtenäiskoulun vanhempainyhdistys järjestää diskon 7.–9.-luokkalaisille kello 18–20. Verhoomo esiintyy tapahtuman puolivälin paikkeilla ja lupaa tuoda myös uunituoreita levyjä myyntiin

– Me ollaan hemmetin hyviä, ja meillä on menevää musaa, Eero perustelee syitä tulla katsomaan bändiä perjantaina.

Nirvanan rooli bändin tyylillisenä innoittajana sekä kuuluu vahvistimista että näkyy Verhoomon treenikämpän katossa.

about 4 weeks ago luke and that girl followed each other on twitter and she posted this pic on her instagram and everyone went bat shit crazy about them dating but it quickly died down

and 3 days ago he was seen with her leaving the Nice Guy but he was closer to her friend than her (she’s not the one in striped dress) so it was nothing really

but today photos of them leaving the place again, hand in hand this time emerged and yeah i’m pretty sure they’re dating

also there’s a picture of her with bryana at (i assume) their concert so
